By Colombo Telegraph –
Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran the Prime Minister of the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE), yesterday announced the names of nine Senators to TGTE’s Senate. The Senate was created as the Upper House of TGTE’s Parliament.
Among those appointed as Senators is a former United States Attorney General, Ramsey Clark, who played a major role in drafting and guiding the passage of two important US Laws: The Voting Rights Act of 1965 and The Civil Rights Act of 1968.
Another appointment to the Senate is a Sinhalese, Dr. Brain Senewiratne, who is currently living in Australia,
Other members of the Senate include: Dr. Nagalingam Jeyalingam, M.D. from New York., Mr. Satya Sivaraman: Journalist and human rights & public health activist from New Delhi, India, Mrs. Usha Sriskandarajah: A well-known Tamil activist from Canada, Mr. Elansezhian B.Sc. from Tamil Nadu, India, Mr. Gnaneswaran: An Engineer from Canada, Jegan N. Mohan: A Senior Barrister-at-Law from Canada, Mr. Rajaratnam B.Sc. from Canada.
It is reported that the names of additional six Senators will be announced soon. Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) was created in the aftermath of the bloody end of Sri Lanka’s war; resulting tens of thousands of Tamil civilians were killed and sexually assaulted by the Sri Lankan security forces. UN documented war crimes and recommended an International Commission of Inquiry.
Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) is a democratically elected government of the Tamil Diaspora of Sri Lanka. It held internationally supervised elections in twelve countries to elect Members of Parliament (MPs). These MPs drafted and ratified a Constitution and elected a Prime Minister, a 10 member Cabinet and a Speaker.

@CT…. Your news coverage is even b4 the Tamil websites waking up and publishing the Rudrakumar announcement… (Yet to publish), including TAG owned Tamil Net.
Well done..

Donald, you have to be careful as it is this very AG Ramsey Clark who used to brief the Sri Lankan team before every sitting of UNHRC meeting in Geneva. I can not reveal more lest I put the cat out of the bag. One should be cautious as he will be the spy within.

@Gamini.. Proof of the pudding is in the eating for Rudrakumar and Ramsey Clerk… Who does not need any feathers in his cap at 84.
TGTE, has done nothing on war crimes…last 3 years, other than “gift” their founder to Gota. lol. Is he a Trojan Horse? We don’t know yet!!!
As for CT becoming Pro LTTE is nonsense. All the Tamil news are available in the internet. But CT is obtaining it in a timely fashion due to their journalistic skills and ability. Even before the Tamil websites do. This information is also useful for the Sinhala readers to know what exactly is going in the world than listening to the “Daily Noise” or Rupa vahini and believing the propaganda and lies.
THERE is no point in you guys being like ostriches burying your head in the sand. That would be unwise..
Those who do not like the articles need not read them, nor make any comments either… Do you’ll want CT to be another Asian Tribune who even attacked war hero Fonseka with all the lies, or like the Island Newspaper?
Visiting this website is just optional!!!!

gamini / August 17, 2012
Donald, CORRECTION! The Sri Lankan delegation to the UNHRC Commission sessions in Geneva was briefed each time by the AG of the States from around 2009. Therefore Ramsey Clark being 84 would not have sat as AG for the relevant period as he would have retired prior. The American AG in question is the one who was sitting from 2009 whoever.

Donald J Gnanakone / August 16, 2012
Ramsey Clark is still 84, and the Sinhala doctor is 80..
There is a mixture of veterans and middle aged in the dozen senators from Rudrkumar’s TGTE, who Tamils have been promised would galvanize the boycott and sanctions issues everyone has been reluctant to handle due to the powerful grocery store owner’s group’s influence on the 134 MP’s who had to contest the elections 3 years ago.
Tamil Diaspora will closely watch their contribution and performance.
No legal action has been filed so far against any US citizens, in the USA who are accused of war crimes by the Tamils and the UN. Ramsey Clark knows his US laws!!!!

Rajapakse’s GoSL has done little to engage the TGTE or other influential groups in the Tamil diaspora. The non-political Sinhala electorate – both real and perceived – must take into account this is a dangerous flaw that can impact their future. TGTE is gradually growing strong and increasing sympathy among governments in the world.
The ANC (S. Africa) and the PLO took time to take their place in the community of nations. Merely flying down a few dozen mostly unemployed Tamils in the diaspora and entertaining them in Sri Lanka is “not engaging” the real Tamil diaspora. Neither is the washed-out KP the man to be entrusted with this delicate task. Pouring invective, innuendos and insults through ill-educated “diplomats” representing GoSL is not the answer either. Dr Subramaniam Swamy would love to play a uniting role here.

@Seguttavan. Your assessment is correct.
However, it is uncertain about your comment about Subramaniam Swamy.
I would guarantee you, that he has no role and no place regarding the Tamil issues in Sri Lanka with the Tamil diaspora. I will post a link FYI, later..SS is a dangerous snake…The worst kind…

I have noticed lately Colombo Telegraph is becoming another Pro LTTE website…don’t loose your impartiality by publishing this kind of rubbish and give undue publicity to such organizations to further accelerate collecting funds from poor Tamils.
/
Jegath / August 17, 2012
“collecting funds”?I am just curious about these famous words used by anti-human,pro-war criminals, to paint a picture of tamils being robbed.Yes, it did take place before 2009, not after, also Tamils are not willing to give away their hard earned money to sell outs.
You see, you expect everyone to have the same opinions as you, with great dissatisfaction when you realise they don’t, you let out your frustration by calling them “pro-ltte”, when will you learn in democracy all have their say?

Patriot / August 17, 2012
Rudra is chasing ambulances in US and not a intellect that can put up a case.. Is this the best tamils got ?
Very soon Sl govt and US defence pact will get Rudra his marching orders and this new club looks like a geriatric club to me.
/
punchinilame / August 17, 2012
I am sure the PM-TGTE is well aware of the GOSL moves to cheat the
I/C in the same manner they do with their subjects in SL – their
tried and tested methods.
Dr.Subramaniam Swamy will be the bull in the china-shop.
/
Rubert Vanderkoon / August 17, 2012
Awwww, CT is on fast track!Who calls this farce headed by Rudra a ‘government’? Are you not interested in media ethics CT? Also, it doesn’t matter who joins this little fancy shop called TGTE but to call somebody who is not is not fair, because if Brian knows that you call him a Sinhalese, he will cry.
It is being smart that you classified this farcical little write up under ‘stories’ but had better shift it under ‘whims and fancies’ column.

Wish the TGTE senaye was based in Sri Lanka.
At least Barney, A.F,or Jayaratne would have got some additional business.
Senguttuvan…. The Sinhalaya in the Senate is that Dr.Brian Seneviratne.
Eelam for Tamils or for the elders ??
AG Ramser Clark id the Agent for GOSL.
KP is the agent for TGTE.
Its give and take………………..

I am no fan of the abrasive and truculent SS. Both times we met our differences became wider. I mentioned him because the Rajapakses seem to be comfortable and SS loves the limelight. Don’t under-estimate the man. He has access to the higher tiers of the Govts of China, Israel, some part of the Indian and USA. If a BJP Coalition replaces the Sonia-Manmohan UPFA Govt Swamy might find himself in the Cabinet again. If GoSL wants to seriously engage the TGTE Swamy won’t be a bad idea.

Sri Lanka government can get advice from TGTE. It has 10 member Cabinet. I really don’t how many members in Sri Lankan government Cabinet. We all know it is world record. According to size of Sri Lanka it shouldn’t exceed 25. It was small before 1977. GOSL eating people’s money without any shame.!
/
Donald J Gnanakone / August 17, 2012
@Senguttavan. Swamy would be the worst idea, to engage the TGTE, and in reality GOSL do not need to engage the TGTE. BJP is not crazy to touch SS in future. Real Tamils have no worries about it if and when BJP wins the general elections. There needs a change in India.
GOSL and the Rajapakses need to engage “honestly” and “sincerely” the TNA because they are not stooges like the CWC. No point avoiding them and delaying a political solution and also being terrified to hold elections for the entire NP PC. Mahintha Chinthana will be exposed.
TGTE is quite happy in Cyber Space with no action. So no worries for the GOSL and war criminals, but a good excuse to whip up the emotions of the Sinhalese saying LTTE Rump is active. Now Ramsey Clerk, the Sinhalese doctor who is related he claims to former President Chandrika, can officially join them.
As for 10 ministers, of the TGTE and 134 MP’s, again no worries. There is no budget. lol. 34 MP’s from EU and 1 from Canada had resigned and quietly replaced by candidates who lost in their election bids.
The founder of TGTE, KP is in Colombo and he is busy entertaining 22 members of the diaspora who came to meet him and his masters in Colombo 2 weeks ago..

@Tanoor.. See Island’s headlines for tomorrow!!!
http://www.island.lk/index.php?page_cat=article-details&page=article-details&code_title=59424
This does not mean that Island has turned Pro LTTE rump?
They are as always part of the War Criminals rump…
So criticizing CT providing news 2 days earlier, or which the Sinhala readers in the dark with news affecting or interest them is flawed.

S.Thiagarajah / August 18, 2012
Its a good attempt ,try to get someone from each country .Also you have appointed a sinhalese.Wont he give trouble to the goal of TGTE ,thqat is an independent country and a Government for the 80 million tamils.Since he is inside he may pass on confidential information to the Sri Lanka gOvt. and sabotage the creation of an independent countryu for tamils.

As soon as I get home from Sri Lanka, I shall start organizing a letter writing campaign to stop the State Department from further pushing GOSL in the arms of the evil Beijing regime with ill conceived publicity stunts like the March 2012 UN Resolution.
Re your allegations against Mr. Clark, Please provide proof – CT

Dear Editor:
Despite the fact that my views do not dovetail with those of CT, I believe this is the first time you have deleted any of my comments. The statement made was meant to be factual, not ad hominem, as explained below.
His history is obviously much more well known in the US than in Sri Lanka, a country in which he has never shown any interest until this week to my knowledge so your request for proof is certainly reasonable. I do not think you dispute that he has not published books or articles on the subject nor has he represented any LTTE members.
The “proof” of his history is voluminous and I dont wish to use too much of your bandwidth but will link two good summaries: the first is a very recent summation of his infamous history as best friend of tyrants and terrorists and the second much more specifically to prove that he has long been an apologist for the banned terrorist group Hamas as stated in my prior post which you deleted:

Thank you for objectively reviewing Mr Clark’s history before deciding which comments to censor.

American Lover seems disturbed over CT editing his citing of the Asian Tribune, reference Ramsey Clark joining the TGTE. Asian Tribune is a publication by one of the biggest Wheeler Dealers K.T. Rajaratnam who is hand in glove with MR for some time with blessings from the US. In the Asian Tribune along with an article reference Ramsey Clark, there is the story of how one of Karuna Amman’s catchers phoning and threatening K.T. Rajaratnam with death. The agendas and involvement of these Corrupt Tamils with the Corrupt MR will one of these days explode.
/
gamini / August 19, 2012
I have inadvertantly stated the Editor of Asian Tribune as K.T. Rajaratnam but should read as K.T. Rajasingham. Regret the error.
/
American Lanka Lover / August 21, 2012
Gamini: Editor originally excised my post about Clark’s infamous history as “best friend to tyrants and terrorists” and asked me to provide proof; I linked the two pieces. The particular charge I made against clark was his hostility to Israel and friendliness with terror groups whose charters call for the “destruction of the zionist entity” . To Editor’s credit, upon reading the background apparently realized there is at least a good faith basis for the charge and thus allowed it. I understand that this does NOT mean he agrees or endorses my comments, to the contrary, but he showed the journalistic integrity of allowing divergent points of view where there is a factual record. Reasonable minds CAN differ, and I applaud his reticence to engage in censorship of opinions he may disagree with. And I have no problem with him trying to protect Clark or others from slander or character assissination unsupported by facts.
In this regard, CT does show its intent to be a credible NEWS SOURCE, rather than a propaganda source (eg Tamilnet) and refutes the charges of the Sinhalese extremists that it is a mouthpiece for tamilnet.
Well done sirs.
