It’s one more shop today and it’s in the heart of Muslim land in Dematagoda. The incident has taken place between 11.30-11.45pm last night at a small bakery right in front of Clifton Balika Viddayalaya, Maligakanda down Dematagoda road. According to the owner of the shop the arsonist has entered from the rear end of the shop and attempted to set fire to the freezer and the frying pans that had been stacked at the rear end of the bakery. There was other small cooking equipment, which has also been damaged.
The owner had heard the commotion and upon seeing the fire had called the fire brigade who had come and put the fire off and brought the situation under control. The shopkeeper told Colombo Telegraph that it is surprising to note how the thick frying pan has got pierced due to the fire. There is deep suspicion that the materials used to set fire may have some military grade materials that were found when Aluthgama was set on fire. The residents of Aluthgama accused the military of collusion with the Sinhala rioters in Aluthgama.
The total loss is estimated at around Rs 300,000-400,000. An eye witness told Colombo Telegraph that the police have taken away the CCTV footage that was available within the premises. There were no cameras where the fire had broken. This cannot be an accidental fire as the bakery was being renovated and no baking activity was undertaken. There are other places which has been installed with CCTV surveillance, and those videos might show more. When Fashion Bug store in Pepiliyana was set on fire last year, it was alleged that the police had tampered with the video footage.
The Muslims are beginning to feel that the government is not controlling the situation.
On a positive note, the arsonist who came on a bicycle and set fire to Fashion Leather store in Wijerama has been arrested. The police refused to divulge any details as investigations are still in progress.
A Muslim youth who spoke to Colombo Telegraph on condition of anonymity said: “Muslims are suspicious that the police would protect the masterminds behind the arson.”
In the meantime, the President had threatened to mobilize the army to quell any racial violence.
“Has he no faith in the police investigations. Is there higher-ups in the police department protecting the hate mongers and arsonists?” the Muslim youth asked. (Kamani Senanayake)

So yes they gave some level of support to the LTTE, but their intention was never to let LTTE actually achieve their political aims. This is just a myth. Indian Army did not send troops to fight the LTTE. What India did is help enforce a naval blockade that cut off escape routes to the LTTE and supplies to the Wanni. This blockade was the reason why the SLA was able to advance so fast. Even Prabhakaran could not escape at the end.

Who was behind 1983 pogrom? Not the Sinhala community at large but the blame fell on the Sinhala community. It was carried out by few thugs with the blessings of the Government headed by JRJ in which Ranil was a Cabinet member. My guess is that the present violence against Muslims is master minded and carried out by the same kind of people like in 1983 to divert attention from other issues. The top priority of this Government is passing the new constitution to devolve power and please the Tamils and Muslims so that they can get their votes. They have realized it is not that easy and are creating an environment to achieve their objective. I hope Sinhala Buddhists will stay calm as they did after 1983 despite all the atrocities committed by LTTE to provoke them. Thanos, I have serious doubts whether you are a Buddhist. We are aware of the fact that some non-Buddhist change their religion for a short period when they want to attack Buddhist. Sinhala Buddhists demonstrated their tolerance by not reacting to provocations of Prabhakaran e.g. Bombing Dalada Maligawa; Massacre at Sri Maha Bodhi, Killing monks and Samaneras. As many of us have clearly pointed out 1983 pogrom was the work of UNP thugs. After 1983, Sinhala Buddhists have not harm a single Tamil although LTTE massacred hundreds of Sinhalese.

If Sinhala Buddhists were not tolerant how come Tamils from the North flocked to Colombo when LTTE Tamil terrorists were playing havoc in the North. That is why now in Colombo city nearly 40% Tamils and 20% Muslims. LTTE chased all the Sinhalese and Muslims from Jaffna and when they went back to claim their property after LTTE was wiped out, they were chased away by ordinary Tamils. Our bloody Government did not do a damn thing about it. It is high time that Sinhalese chase away all the Tamils and Muslims from the South.

The same caste that the Sinhalese like you allotted them. What caste was that? In their original Indian homeland they largely belonged to two major castes. Marrakayar or Marrickar and Lebbai with sub castes amongst them.
There is caste system amongst all South Asian Muslims not just Hindus and like the Hindu they strictly follow this.

Actually it wast Muslim home guards armed by the Sri Lankan government and armed forces who were killing raping looting and ethnically cleansing Tamil Hindus in the east and not the other way around. This was one of the reason for the LTTE to expel the northern Muslims. Do not try to distort history. Karuna who killed Muslims in the east is now the darling of the Sinhalese and Muslims. He only attacked the Kattankudi Mosque as these Home guards used it as an arms depot and before attacking a Tamil Hindu village, they used to go there pray and them collect their arms. They used the Mosque as an arms depot and thought it will be out of bounds. Just like what the Sikh militants did in Punjab. Used the Golden temple as a arms depot The LTTE for all its faults never used any religious place as an arms depot or as a centre for their activity, as Hinduism and Christianity forbids this. This does not seem to be an issue in Islam. Kattankudi Mosque is still a hot bed of Wahhabi Islamic extremism.

In Mindanao, arms and fighters are smuggled form island of Borneo which is controlled by Indonesia and Malaysia, which is nearby. As for Srilanka, Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh or even Indian Lakdive Islands with large Muslim population are far away. Muslims need safe coastal areas free of people to land men and material. This is the reason why government did not allow Muslims to resettle in Wilpattu coast. Very soon Muslims living in coastal areas of East and North-west will be evacuated for security reason. Any Muslim foreigner caught will go missing. As a first step all charities and associations that received funds from Muslim countries will be investigated and asked to show how those funds were disbursed. The conflict between Saudi Arabia and Qatar has exposed terrorist funding by both countries. So there is no point dreaming of an Islamic backlash in Srilanka. Muslims must stop behaving in a stupid manner according to Koran and correct themselves.

We saw how these ungrateful thoppies show their gratitude to Tamils for 30 years .

You are correct I recently met a Christian Tamil from the east, whose house and village was burnt down and looted by Muslim home guards in the east. He stated that these Muslim mobs arrived from the Kattankuddi mosque to their village in Batticaloa. This was the first time I actually met a witness and a victim of Muslim home guard violence. He stated despite all the state and Muslim misinformation. Tamils in the east know the real reason why the Kattankudi Mosque was attacked, as it was and is still a hotbed of Islamic extremism and was a centre for anti Tamil ( Hindu) violence. The strange thing is ,he has no animosity or hatred for the Muslims and in fact feels sorry for what is happening to them now,despite the fact that the Muslims are still trying steal and supress the real owners of the indigenous Tamils in the east with the help of the Sinhalese establishment. He stated his religion has taught him to forgive and not gloat when another is in trouble, even when the other is still the cause of his misery. Not being a Christian I was deeply touched by what he stated and knew that he meant it.
