Airbus Deal: Court Reveals Money Trail – Mainstream Media Remains Mum

Despite social media buzzing yesterday with news of the controversial transfer of US $ 800,000 from former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena‘s wife Priyanka Niyomali Wijenayaka’s bank account to the account of Global Vision Holdings owned by Businessman Nimal Perera, prominent television channels such as Derana TV and Hiru TV failed to broadcast this highlighted discovery.

Nimal Perera

They still continue to remain mute along with other prominent print media houses.

Even though Maharajah Group’s electronic media channel News First broke the story at 20:37 last night, the news of the controversial transfer of US $ 800,000 was highlighted during the court session, when the controversial SriLankan Airlines Airbus aircraft re-fleeting bribe scandal and case against the former national carrier’s CEO Kapila Chandrasena and wife Priyanka Niyomali Wijenayake was taken up in court earlier yesterday.

In a further startling revelation a sum of Euro 160,000 had also been transferred from Priyanka Niyomali Wijenayake’s account to that of an account belonging to the company named Sri Lanka Adverts belonging to two brothers, which incidentally does not have a registered address.

The husband and wife duo were further remanded by Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake until the 4th of March 2020, when the case is to be taken up once again.

Incidentally Businessman Nimal Hemasiri Perera who is banned from travelling overseas, is also currently embroiled in a scandalous money laundering case involving Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s eldest son MP Namal Rajapaksa under the prevention of money laundering act. The ongoing case is being heard at the Magistrate’s Court in Fort Colombo. (By Dasun Jayakody)

Never trust politician to tell you the truth even if you see them in temples offering poojas.

All politicians are corrupt, except an handful.

      Garaka,

“Never trust politician to tell you the truth even if you see them in temples offering ”

Those who know, know. Those who don’t, called imbeciles, don’t know.

What about the monks? After all they hijacked Buddhism, installed themselves as the 3rd Gem of the Triple Gem, Sangha, and the imbeciles, who don’t know, prostrate to the monks, and seek their blessings, Sangam Saranam Gacchami.

This is the problem when the President is given unlimited powers. Ultimately the country suffers with its people. The country is indebted to the rich nations and its only a matter of time when we have to surrender the country and its sovereignty to these powerful nations as we become so much indebted and become bankrupt.

These corrupt politicians appoint their goons to high posts in all the sectors and collapse the administration and then rob everything they can. The politicians are not the owners of Sri Lanka, it is the people. The judiciary should stand tall and insists of an administrative structure that is independent. The politicians must only make laws and the administration should administer as per the law. The politicians cunningly took control of the administration telling they do not want middlemen as they are unable to carry out their duties directly to the people, took over the administration and put their stooges to the top posts and there the corruption starts which includes the judiciary.

Whats new in Silly Lanka ???? MR and family shielded a court sentenced murderer and rapist until UK,Royals and then Govt had to exert pressure on them. They protected Duminda too. It will be intresting if US and others take action on money laundering ?? it is as serious as human right violations and sanctions are used. Jaliya is inside today for the same reason, money laudering . If it was in Lanka Jaliya would have had multiple portfolios under him as minister.

      Gopinath Caldera,
NaRa & ChaRa are not brothers. Two brothers are two sons ChaRa. This story exposes ChaRa’s real character as well. In any case, it won’t be a surprise if NaRa’s name is found somewhere in the web of corruption.

Talking about money laundering…anyone asked Mr Dhammika Perera where he got his money from???

Does anyone dumb enough to think all his wealth came from Casinos?

    Courts/Colombo Telegraph,

    Yes. Follow the money.

$16. 5 million is to be accounted for. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

The tribe will certainly convert it up, as most are tribe members or tribe cronies.

Who are the two brothers owning Sri Lanka Adverts? And are there shareholders or other people of interest propping up Nimal Perera’s Global Vision Holdings? We are dying to know. CT up to your investigators to keep us informed. Airbus has certainly been bussing around.

We need more and more Ranga Dissanayakes to nail these slimy bastards. If all fearless judges and public service officials band together and fight for the rights of the people the “dirty” politicians and their cahoots can then be defeated en masse. Devani Jayatilake and Ranga Dissanayake can well be the “tipping point” of a massive change in the administration of justice, efficient services and fair play in Sri Lanka. And importantly, we too must do our part and support them uncompromisingly. Will the CID act fearlessly from now on? Because their credibility is presently way below zero. “The Island” which is quick to be the Govt’s mouthpiece failed miserably to record Ranga’s castigation of the CID in court. Iqbal Athas pathetically dishes out boring party politics weekly on his spreadsheet and steers clear of any subject critical of the President and the Govt. Keep up the great work CT!

See front pages of today Daily Mirror. US do collectively ban for illegal money laundering too (not just for human rights abuse). See state dept statement prior to travel ban. Count your blessings, it is not you or your family yet.

I don’t know how far thetruth about this high level corruption, bribes, cheats, lies by top level politicians are is known by poor Sinhala masses, it is sad that the media, civil society, educated professionals, true buddhist clergy’s are still keeping silent in bringing these truths to them. If you fail to open your heart to tell the truth the whole nation and people have to loose everything including the future of your children.
Mahinda Rajapaksa family, Sirisena family, Ranil family and their associates including the top level LTTE Kauna and KP and others are safe and wealthy. Sinhalese and Tamils lost a generation of youths and poor citizens due to the lies, cheats and the bloodshed created over the time. Think!

So now Namal becomes Airbus Namal. Not bad considering other hooligan names, potta naufer, wele suda, bada etc. I think Airbus Namal has more dignity.
