Having had the time to read CT over the past few months and reading these comments a few factors are obvious.
This papers’ articles are anti Rajapaksa and those who have commented here have taken sadistic pleasures in insulting Gota – a human being who stopped the bombs, the fear psychosis of the people in the land, brought four and a half years of peace to his land even though Sri Lanka has its own share of problems that any non communist, non oil rich country could encounter in today’s world. The bloggers also hate Gota for eliminating the Sun God (or is it Sun Goat) the last of the hopes for a “Pie in the Sky” Tamileelam.
The majority of bloggers here have shown how much they openly love to lick the asses of Indians in general and that of Fat Ugly has been B-grade acress Jayalalitha in particular. The Colombo Telegraph also borders on similarity to Tamilnet, the only difference being Tamilnet is blindly diasporic and does not tolerate any criticisms, however constructive or otherwise.
The CT as well as the majority of the bloggers do not have anything good to say about China as well as its meteoric development, its organizational capabilities despite China’s growing pains.
Since 1947 India has had 66 years of democracy and still except for a million or two well to do people for the majority of its 1.3 billion people it is one big cesspool. The only super power politics it plays is dominating its tiny neighbors while licking the ass of the US politicians and that of the scum from Tamil Nadu.
Whereas China in less than 20 years has proved what a miracle it can be and virtually made the economy of the entire world depend on it. It also owns almost all the resources of the entire third world Africa plus the economies of the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand depend on China.

India obviously has to go through another one or two encounters and get its butt kicked by China and possibly lose another two thousand square miles of its land to China – to understand the realities of global politics which it will, if it keeps dictating and kicking around China’s buddies, especially tiny Sri Lanka.

India’s no 1 is yet TATA based in UK and next Infosys.
Its fast paced business. With 9/11 they lamented to the US that they have hardware but no software (logic,English) so a deal was stuck. Now the US/EU have had trials of hardware investment (caterpillar) and a couple of months ago proposed Modi (before the west and media called him, a criminal falsely) as they need Mr Clean for stronger investment. BTW Google and Wikipedia is not God but one has to taste and that carries a price. The Chinese don’t have high tech either and US/UK has flatly refused while others give it in small by setting it up in slave camps. Gota aside, the fisherman issue is a hindrance to the recovering Northern Fishing Communities. After, raping the Indian side of the oceans, the fishing Mafias of S. India have a field day in our waters, depriving the Northern Fisherman of their livelihoods. The situation has boiled over many times. Signs of changing times, the SL Navy protects the interests of the Northern Fisherman.

Spaniards prefer the smaller fish too so they do the same in Scotland causing bitter quarrels. Now Scotland and the north of Europe have been carrying out responsible fishing (throw back to sea because of treaty) and conservation. Study the case of fishing policy in the EU and the insurmountable problems- can’t please everyone. On top of it study the ocean geology – Bangladesh and Maldives may not exist in another 50-70 years.
