“As Long As I Am The President, No International Participation In Judicial Process” Sirisena Declares

In what could be a visible setback to the country’s reconciliation process, President Maithripala Sirisena has declared that until he is the President of Sri Lanka, no foreign judges or courts will be part of any judicial process.

MaithriSirisena who has been adamant against any international participation in an accountability probe on war crimes allegedly carried out by both the military and the LTTE during the last stages of the war which reportedly killed some 40,000 civilians during 2009, reiterated his stand at an event held in Panadura on Friday.

“As long as I am the President of this country, I will not allow for any international courts, international judges and international organisations to interfere with the internal affairs of Sri Lanka and the judiciary,” he said.

Sirisena also added that he will not allow any national or international activity to take place which will prove to be a danger to the country’s integrity and independence.

Incidentally, Sirisena’s declaration comes just days after United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein underscored the importance of bringing in international judges, prosecutors, investigators and lawyers into the judicial mechanism to probe war crimes.

“The High Commissioner remains convinced that international participation in the accountability mechanisms would be a necessary guarantee for the independence and impartiality of the process in the eyes of victims, as Sri Lanka’s judicial institutions currently lack the credibility needed to gain their trust,” Zeid said in a report presented at the 32nd session of the Human Rights Council held on June 28.

Mid this week, addressing a press conference Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera termed Sirisena’s resolute against allowing international participation as a ‘personal opinion.’ ( By Munza Mushtaq © Colombo Telegraph )

Srisena on Jan 8 2015 must have promised MaRa through
Ranil that Sir a will protect MaRa & the armed forces.

Now JO has formed a shadow cabinet to check Sira Ranil power management
and bring back MaRa and his inner circle to power again.

Obviously Sira is worried about the shadow cabinet.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Al Raad Al Hussein and his office remains convinced that international participation in the accountability mechanisms would be a necessary guarantee for the independence and impartiality of the process in the eyes of victims, as Sri Lanka`s judicial institutions currently lack the credibility needed to gain their trust. The High Commissioner`s report also stressed the crucial importance of the close engagement by the Council in underpinning this process and giving assurance and confidence to all stakeholders, particularly the victim community.

We Tamils commend the High Commissioner and appreciate the commitment shown by him and his office and the member countries of the Council in taking tangible steps to establish independent and credible justice, accountability and reconciliation mechanisms, with meaningful international participation.

as long as Sirisena and his cohorts can have it all hobnobbing and flying the peacock it’s all same same for the commander supplying `peace keeping forces` to UN.
Hybrid version of Burma and Mugabe regime in the making.
It can only get worse for the local fools or is India there for rescue?

This is a mistake. At least allow foreign judges to give technical advise and be observers. Then demand for an enquiry about UK And USA and their war crimes too. It will be a good thing. It is foolish for My3 to do this because RW and Mangy will now make sure USA threatens and puts pressure on My3 either via blackmail or by creating “spontaneous” violence as they did in Ukraine.

I say allow them as observers and get technical advise including on how to record evidence in camera and get lie detector machines etc.

    My3 has made a mistake.

Srilankens animated by Buruwanse et al are normally the most intelligent folks – so why do we need to even think of foreign judges or any foreign assistantce. Some sinhala speaking Japanese once said, sinhalese are the folks -with unbelievable MANAYA – SUPERIORITY COMPLEX – that they feel as the greater mistake. Best example to me these days is that GMOA secretary or one lanken MBBS holder behaves in terms of their making decisions hurting poor masses.
It is all because those very men stayed as if kirimata was fed at the time, SATIM Or the like MC was started. There, not a single word of the people were respected by MR et al. He thought if that bugger Jackson anthony could name him RAJANO…. he shold also behave like Rajano….

In General stupid majorities … even if they further behave uncivilized… they just feel…
      they are the experts.
They feel they can manage to do anything as the first world do.. but just limit to their lip services.
Just to get a little reform done, it can take years for them – in retrospect – what have those politicians collectively achieved from independence.
Maharaja is the most abusive among the elected -but people let him looting or abusing further. Both politicians and majority folks are accoutable for the messa faced to date.

There are different centres of power now. 3 to be precise.

There is Ranil and Royalists and 7 Gay men dancing like Caligula.

There is Mangy and CBK dancing to a disco tune and

there is My3 increasingly isolated but loving being the President dancing to Magul bera, and all its perks and making sure kids and relatives rich.

He is a survivalist. Perhaps the Army told him not to dare cross a certain line. I think this is a mistake. Soon there will be a Ukraine or South Sudan like situation. If lesbian lover Huma Abedin’s mistress becomes the President of the most powerful nation on earth(she has a 50-50 chance), SL is f***ed. They will come in and divide SL. So My3 by being afraid or by covering up will ensure the fast division of the nation. ALLOW them to come in and be observers. Mangy dances to CBK’s tune. Not bad for an Olevel Dress designer to read a lot and be an intellectual like person now. He is acutely aware of what the US will do next. So My3 should listen to him and RW on this issue.

Mangy is far more intelligent than Sirisena I’m matters of foreign policy. His diplomacy saved Sri Lanka from isolation and ruin after the dreaded Rajapaksas were thrown out.

Sirisena going back on promises to the UNHRC will be a disaster for Sri Lanka. As for Mangy’s qualifications he is a graduate of the famous and reputed Central St Martin’s school od Design and Art.

Mr. President Maithripala Sirisena; you have so many shortcomings to be a JUST RULER or to be a PRINCIPLED POLITICIAN. I have judged you according to the teachings of my only master; Lord Buddha.

    My master has said;……..

“- A good ruler should show no fear whatsoever in the enforcement of the law, if it is justifiable.
    – A good ruler must possess a clear understanding of the law to be enforced. It should not be enforced just because the ruler has the authority to enforce the law. It must be done in a reasonable manner and with common sense. — (Cakkavatti Sihananda Sutta)”

I think this is a good development. Comm Zeid would have been aware of the attempts by the President to whitewash and he has now reiterated that foreign intervention will be necessary. The more the president goes along this slippery path, the more it will be convincing that SL has a lot to hide.

The bitter power struggle will continue and SL will continue on the ruinous path. Sometimes it is good to see the country destroying itself. It has no moral to exist. No democratically elected govt has fared disastrously as SL. Racial strife, religious strife, lawlessness, corruption all had sunk the country. The country has gone to the dogs.

why does donkey need to `understand` the other mans point of view?

back to common sense. All it needs is food and there is plenty of it.

Donkeys are erratic beings, to begin with and that takes precedence over the “other man’s point of view”. As if you are oblivious why a donkey is called as such, so to speak.

If only sense is common, we will live in a better world today. Whoever invented this phrase?

The politicians have plenty of food. Any comments?

              grumpy troll,
there is enough food in the country for the masses to not bother about minorities.the majority have common sense and are happy.

human mind was created for sniffing food not trolling and expecting a change.
ethnic issue has gone to the window and is on the verge of flying away.

                ranjith:

Ignorance is a bliss. A minaret and an invite for Gnanasara – doesn’t he invite himself well, to grudgingly bless?

Is not the masses = majority = to minorities? You are one very confused being. You must have visited the zoo to often. Gnanasara is building a minaret to bless the unfortunate. Well the path is open for you.

Human mind created – wonder who is the creator? Was the creator sniffing, too.

Ethnic issue has always remained a crawling baby – far-fetched to believe it can ever reach the window. The room is still dark and the baby has no chance to see the world – no sane regime will allow it to stand up or otherwise there will be no more food on the table.

You see what I mean – I know you rub shoulders with Mugabe. Of course I am happy for you but why being selfish. Since you want others to emulate Mugabe, who else can help others to meet that great leader except the one (you) who rub sleep in the same bed with him. Mugabe must be one grateful person to you for keeping his light burning.

You are indeed a genius. Preach your message, there is no need for elections, clubs will elect leaders of countries. When a donkey open its mouth it also means a mental asylum is required to house it. I thought your uncle Mahinda squeezed the IMF’s balls by turning to India and China that eventually made IMF on its knees. This is what happens when half-baked beans like you become phony advisers.

Any culture can be better than your “flashing” uncles in robes. Does it look like the Tamil leeches are sleeping – they are going to haunt you and your like as long as you have blood. If leeching is the way, so be it. It dries up your kith and kin. Hahaha, we are very happy.

Mangala thinks that he can beat the West while dancing according to the West.

Yesterday my comments have been removed by Colombo Gazette, it didn’t happen to me under MR government. The good governance leaders have very short memories, they have forgotten what India and the West had done for decades. This country will be screwed far worse than ever before. My3 says no foreign judges, but Mangala says that is my3’s own opinion. I can see what is coming, surely this fools deserve it. This fools won’t make this country as Singapore. If they do, it will be an insult for knowledge and hard work.

Ranjan Fernando who made a false alarm about a fascist takeover by the Buddhist temples has spoken again. This time by calling the President a cuckoo.

All anti-Sinhala mercenaries like Ranjan should note that President Sirisena will always listen to the Mahasanga who are the guardians of Sri Lanka. Congratulations President Sirisena for protecting the country, the brave armed forces and listening to the Mahasanga and protecting the Sasana.

      The Buddhist

“All anti-Sinhala mercenaries like Ranjan should note that President Sirisena will always listen to the Mahasanga who are the guardians of Sri Lanka.”

Hence there is no future/progress/development/peace/humanity/prosperity/for this thrice blessed island for another 2500 years.

      “the brave armed forces”

You are not kidding are you? They are simply and collectively known as war criminals.

The guardians of this island are the Devas when did the Sangha turn into gods?

I remember reading the most important gods have been Skanda (Kataragama), Gana deviyo (Vigneshvara), Natha, Vishnu, Pattini (Kannagi), Sakka, Saman, Huniyan Deviyo, …… who are supposed to be the guardians of this island.

My teacher never mentioned the Sangha being the guardian gods. Please check the facts with your local Bikku, or Gnanasara.

But you are a saffron clad thug Gnanasara’s b***s carrying bigot.

” whereas you have a serious ‘NO’ to the s/b existence here in SL. “

I have no objections to the existence of Sinhalese nor Buddhists. They were happened to be either born in Sinhala family or in Buddhist household. In fact, we should celebrate the fact this had been a diverse country.

However, the new religion Sinhala/Buddhism and the concocted race Sinhala/Buddhists (since the advent of the public racists Anagarika the homeless one) could and should not be tolerated.

You sound like one of them. Its time you packed your bags and went back to your ancestral land South India. When you go take your fellow Sinhala/Buddhists and Sinhala/Buddhism with you. We have had enough of you in this thrice blessed land.

Leave the Sinhalese and Buddhists to live in peace,

Native, you never understand or do not have the capacity to understand what is sinahala buddhism or whats its culture or what they have done in the past to built this country or what knowledge they had to do some of the wonders in the past.

All you know is brand your opponent (in terms of ideology) in various names and put them into categories that you prefer according to the whims and fancies of tamil chauvinism – the ideology that pay you well.

Hence the Anagarikas are racists for you and Ponnambalam or Chelvas alike are liberators or heros. At least they are not racists for you.

Labeling me as an ally of BBS and suggesting me to leave the country to SI is easy. But if you think you can burry the truth along with it, your mistaken.

Where on earth have I defended Ponnambalam, Chelvas, VPs, Somawansas, Wimal Weerawansas, …….. ?

“you never understand or do not have the capacity to understand what is sinahala buddhism or whats its culture or what they have done in the past to built this country or what knowledge they had to do some of the wonders in the past.”

I may be or indeed an ignorant.

Please enlighten me on what exactly tht makes a Sinhala/Buddhist? What is their culture? What is Sinhala/Buddhism? What is Sinhala/Buddhists contribution to the people, the country, the region and the world at large?

Native, your again trying to drag me to BBS – following the theory : “put the opponent to vulnerable side so that everyone can bash him”.

Can you show me, a single piece of writing, that I endorse BBS?

I have read Dharmapala to a certain degree. Why you guys put him down has a simple reason. His effort to arouse Sinhalese, specially Buddhists against English imperialists. And thats the very same reason for Suddas to treat Gandhi and Mandela, lately in a bit of softer way and harsh on Dharmapala. And his way of addressing people also was not in line with “sudda’s bogus disciplinary way” but in a very colloquial way that the common man could easily understand.

You have to be honest with you, if you really want to understand what s/b is. It is because s/b culture (not what practices mostly nowadays) even NATIVE VEDDAS still exists keeping their traditions enact. (N/As’ too have changed now but that is not due to s/b culture but western culture – judaic christian culture to be more precise – which is the dominant culture worldwide. It is because s/b culture, other beliefs too can exist in SL with harmony. But is it possible in other cultures? Dont tell me now, “in the west you have ample freedom bla bla”.

When I say, s/b culture, I do not mean it as the BEST culture in the world. Its another culture that had been the bed for our knowledge, our thinking, our patterns et el based on Buddhist principals. In other words, simplicity centric or impermanent nature based way of life which has been ruined by now due to various things. Its a complete opposite to ‘God-centric’ or One God based kowledge.

Native, do not even think for a moment, that I am in the belief of an unmix, lonely culture. Or I am not a campaigner for such thing. S/B culture is very much an open culture and it has a wide parameters to absorb anything from outside or within.

Contribution : First and foremost, it has set the example of how to keep the balance between mankind and nature. Benefit has gone to the country, region and world at large.

I can go on and on. But if your in an insulting, paltry mood like “sunday kill monday sill”, its futile.

I will google some links for you so that you can read them and expand your thinking pattern.

Some feel like they should have blue blood flowing thorugh their vessels just becasue they live in UK – that is typical to some sinhalese that have failed to know the basics. We are all born to lanken matha should have same rights.

If you MAXES failed to get them your mothers and teachers then, let alone going to a kinder garten could help you lot to face the world. The Buddhist,

Buddhism is actually a philosophy. Hardly anyone practises its principles, a vast number of the priests included.
Why do you have to link Buddhism into this? Just talk on racial lines, if you
wish to be racist, but don’t call yourself a Buddhist and drag that philosophy into this.
      Think about it.

I hope all the doctors too go to Maha Sangha to ask advise how to treat the patient and also Engineers go to them to ask advise how to make a construction, and same with the judiciary down to the bath room cooley. We will have a better and healthy Sri Lanka.

Why not make the Maha Sangha the Parliament of the Sri Lanka and we could save lots of tax payers money! As I told if a doctor has to go to them to ask about what treatment then might as well make the priests as doctors instead for the ‘doctor’ being simply a middle man.

This bugger My3 has no vision and no commitment, all he did was make use of the opportunity of the unpopularity towards Rajapakse especially by the Tamils and Muslims and got him thrust to the seat of power. The Buddhist,
You are right. That is the curse/downfall for this beautiful island and many Asian specially bhudist countries. People are ruining Asian countries in the name of God which is against God’s will. Any idiot can fool Asian public, by telling lies about God. Many comments above are very encouraging and prove that many Singhalese are now moderate and willing to develop the country but unable to find a good leader like Prabaharan – hope time will resolve it. God bless this country. Actually Tamils are much worse than Singhalese but Singhalese(ex GR, MR, JR) are hot tempered and never hesitate to kill people for petty things and to make money. Evolution is the viable solution. Hope for the best.

    Dear My3,

Then you shall be removed Mr. My3! You are not suitable to be President. You did not ‘earn’ your position by your own steam but it was on Mahinda Rajapakse’s efforts, rather his negative and anti Rajapakse votes you were simply pushed to victory!

You do not have a charisma which am sure Mahinda had but sadly he abused it and that was his undoing. Now it is very clear you never really had any intention to bring justice to the people who suffered unimaginable hardships under Rajapkse but simply wanted to grab the opportunity of his unpopularity. You are a real typical corrupt and visionless politician and your name adds to the list of leaders who ruined Sri Lanka.

You should first think and then act. If you did not want foreign judges then why did you accept it before and signed a cosponsored resolution with the UN? Was it a another trick to buy time and cheat the World to get concessions until you ultimately get caught!

Ok My3, nothing lost, UN will have an inquiry and a hearing with totally foreign judges outside Sri Lanka and deliver justice to those who victims of war crimes and punish found guilty. But kindly remember you have only powers to stop foreign judges coming to Sri Lanka but cannot do anything what they do outside Sri Lanka. When a harsh verdict unfavourable to Sri Lanka is delivered which certainly that is sure and you know that as that is the truth, then it is too late to soften anything. Then do not cry and plead with them to come to Sri Lanka and hear jointly along with their judges and local judges who are of course handpicked to softened the severity of the verdict.

All in all I think the victims of war must be thankful for your statement refusing any foreign participation so now the victims can have totally 100% unadulterated justice, inquired totally by foreign legal officers. We thank you for your foolishness!

Shrikaran, Native Vadda, Senthil et al,

Read the Chilcot report and see how the British and Americans cooked the facts, invented the myth of WMD to invade Iraq.

Being a wise leader, President Sirisena does not want to put mother Sri Lanka at the mercy of crooked judges appointed by these imperialists and commit hara kiri. After all the so called international community have no money, reputation or power.

    So no international judges, period.

It is significant that the President whose primary duty is to protect Buddhism, announced this in the presence of the Maha Sanga. May the triple gem protect him from people like you.

“As Long As I Am The President, No International Participation In Judicial Process” Sirisena Declares

The above statement (very similar to Wimal and Mervin) should go very well within the country among the Sinhala Buddhists who loves to hear these statements but however, for the International community it is undiplomatic and brutal. He may have to eat his own words or lose the credibility that he has gained.

On the other hand, Maithripala Sirisena and the Sinhala government is Proving that they can’t & won’t prosecute Sinhala war criminals thereby allowing the impunity against SL Tamils to continue without any checks or balances..!

The more they deny about ‘War Crimes’, the easier it becomes for SL Tamils to obtain JUSTICE from International fora..!

    The Buddhist,
Brother, it is very sad to know that you are not accepting us as one of you – you are trying to protect Singhalese from us-aliens. So you do not believe educated , well travelled people but trust that so called Maha sanga people to direct the country -good for you mate- so you are adamant to drag down srilanke to the hell. Keep it up.

“so you do not believe educated, well travelled people but trust that so called maha sanga”!

senthil, please take my LOL++ for your “educated” and “well travelled” comment. And, you can keep it where ever you wish to.

In the mean time, shall we appoint a team of air-plane pilots and ship captains to run the country? Sri Lanka or any other destination for that matter?

You do know much they travel noh?

“In the mean time, shall we appoint a team of air-plane pilots and ship captains to run the country?”

Its a good idea. The pilots and mariners have fun at ever port they enter hence enjoying a happy work leisure balance.

Therefore they are less stressful and more careful on their job.

Maxes are BORN frogs in wells. They will never get it.
That is the reason why them to go swimm on the flowing toilet pits of Rajakashes.
So long maxes are the majority, nothing will change in this country.
They are like parwatha on your way working hard to achieve good status for the poor. Poor that dont even earn 2 dollars a day. Maxes got filled their pocket during the good days of Maharaja Jarapakshe.
Please listen to the speech held by RW inthe parliament. That reveals everything. Just attacking the messengers have been your top of the agenda. With MR out of your lead now – wait and see how the buggers will march forward.

Leela, just leave aside “maharaja jarapakshes” and my being as a frog in well for a moment. For toyya-sake, how about a name change for you? Isnt “leelawathi’ sounds very much ‘gode’ and more like a bayya? Unlike “Mahinda”, “Ranil” sounds very modern and he anyway is THE model politician of yours. As a blind, stupid follower of him, a name change would be a positive thing for you. Here’s my suggestion: “Laila”. A better alternative for the age old name “Leelawathie”. So Laila, think of that. When you do not admiring all the goods of our able prime minister Mr. RW, give my suggestion a serious thought.

Good luck with the name change.

The Tamil camp seems to have got agitated with the President’s comments. All the ‘good advice’ and ‘scary predictions’. Typical LTTE tactics. Remember their usual ‘stop your offensive or else …’ threats? Fortunately the Government (in 2006) and military had the courage to call their bluff and hand them a defeat.

    Brother Senthil,

We Buddhists accept you and all other ethnic and religious groups as brothers. You have total freedom today in Sri Lanka to live your life according to your culture and religion when the blacks in the US are getting killed by their police for no reason.

But we cannot accept the international judges or experts interfering in our affairs. Their intentions are malafide. See what they did to Iraq, Libya, Syria and the like.

Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country just as the UK, US, Australia are Christian countries. Saudi Arabia and Iran are Muslim countries.

So the Maha Sanga, as the custodians of the Buddhist faith should guide the rulers. The President has done brilliantly well by listening to them.

    • 6

Sri Lanka may be Buddhist but Eelam has always been Hindu. Keep your Buddhism in the Sinhalese south but do not try to impose it on Hindu Eelam. That has always been Hindu

      The Buddhist,

The President has not done brilliantly well. All the rogue politicians of the past is in his cabinet. He has defrauded the county to the tune of billions of dollars by giving car import permits to all the MPS. I can go on and on. If he has guided himself by the Mahasanga I assure you he has had bad advice so far.

UK, US and Australia are not Christian countries. They are secular parliamentary democracies and multicultural to boot. Saudi Arabia and Iran are not Muslim countries. None of them practice what Islam preached.

No. My3 had done spectacularly poorly since he was ushered into power.

You left out Sri Lanka. It’s not secular country and not a Budhist country as it doesn’t follow the principles of Lord Budha. And did not adopt a multicultural framework in practicality. The best way to describe Sri Lanka would be : spill blood in the name of Budha

Well said by President of SL…

We stand for your uncompromised decision no any for foreign Judges .

That is part of mandate of valued democracy in Sri Lankan.

Trying to protect the war criminals, Mr President? Worried that the war criminals will be exposed for what they are, Mr President? Worried about the mad racist monks taking to the streets?

Just enter ‘Sri Lankan military and torture’ on YouTube and see how many hits you get, Mr President. Have you ever considerd what damage these war criminals have caused to the SL military?

Please practice what you have been preaching. This is bad governance. You, like your predecessors, are taking the Tamils for granted again, eh? Shame on you.

I am happy that Peesdient Sirisena is a man with a Backbone and he does not play to the games of these hyenas.

“he is becoming a clown infront of foreign diplomats.”

This is what you wrote more than a year ago.

How long it is going to take him to become a fully fledged clown. It seems it is a difficult process.

“That gay man has lost the direction”

When you were one of the unlucky beach boys in your younger days, did it bother you to meet gay men?

Did they ever lose direction or were you helping them to get where they wanted to get to? It must be a long time ago, may be 80 years.

Do you regret being a retired rent boy or do you reminisce about the thought of being tremendous help to old men?

You can share your life secrets with us. It will stay within this forum.

We know AID was not a existential threat then.

A section of the Tamil Diaspora always claimed that there is no difference between Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena. The difference is only in name but both are Sinhala – Buddhist supremacists! So President Sirisena’s declaration that “As Long As I Am the President, No International Participation In Judicial Process” will amount to self-fulfilling prophecy! This will sound music to their ears!
President Sirisena should not treat UNHRC’s resolution 30/1 as a piece of paper of no consequence. His stand may derail the process of reconciliation and accountability between the Sinhalese and Tamils. Aand if President Sirisena persists in his folly, he will be wantonly dissipating the political capital he has built among not only the Tamil people, but the western governments as well.

The war crimes inquiry is not only against the armed forces, but also against the LTTE, that is against those who are alive now. The inclusion of foreign judges gives credibility to the judicial process as the Sri Lankan judiciary remains tainted in the eyes of the international community.

The argument that members of the armed forces are lily white and they should not be punished even if they are found guilty of war crimes is misplaced. War is fine, but it should be conducted according to rules of war called humanitarian law.

The days when governments committed horrendous crimes against its own citizens and escaped scrutiny and punishment are gone for good. Human Rights in the conduct of government affairs are now in front and centre. Proliferation of treaties, conventions, and protocols over the past fifty years has significantly advanced human rights norms. President Sirisena may indulge in rhetoric, but he cannot defy universal institutions like the UNHRC. He should remember that two-third of Sri Lankan exports goes to the Western countries and economic sanctions even on a token basis will send Sri Lankan economy into a tail spin.
If President Sirisena is opposed to the appointment of foreign judges then why did the government agreed to co-sponsor the US resolution? Why he waited all these months?

War was conducted according to so called rules, actually SL lost more soldiers because they wanted to minimize civilian casualty. SL’s war is exemplary when considering the wars waged by west.

This war crime investigation should be rejected by SLns on several reasons.

      1. The method this investigation was brought is totally wrong. Office of high commissioner of UNHRC cannot decide on an international war crime investigation.Never in the history has such an investigation or a judiciary process taken place. Either it was through ICC ( which is impossible as SL is not a signatory) or via UNSC which is also blocked due to china’s veto power. Actually US and UN was cornered without being able to bringing a proper international investigation.

The stupid RW government fell for the trap and helped the be-leagued UN.

      2. There are NO proper evidences to initiate an international war crime investigation. SL is noway similar to the charges in Serbia or in Ruwanda. There was NO incident of mass human massacre and only some video tapes of LTTE cadres. These are no substantial evidence to initiate one.

      3. LTTE’s crimes are whitewashed or underestimated in the report and the Mangala said NO word regarding it. UN has not mentioned LTTE human shields despite many evidence by NGOs but a mere mention of an LTTE buffer.

      4. No soverign country has ever conducted or allowed such a hybrid court in their country against their own army and in SL against an army that defeated 30 years of terrorism in the country fighting the most ruthless terrorist group.

      5. The backers of this investigation like US and UK are one of the biggest violators of humanitarian laws. US has killed hundreds of civilians every month by their drones but no action, obvious links with terrorist organisations like ISIS. Had backed Al qaeda and war crimes in Iraq, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Japan and Germany and again UK in Germany, Kenya, Philipines, Ireland and Iraq. Should we allow these well known violators of HLs in war zone to question or even investigate our army which fought a legitimate war in a legitimate manner.

      6. the supporters of these actions, LTTE fund raisers who should be responsible for continuing misery and human suffering in SL by funding an LTTE for 30 years. Should we allow this government to do what LTTE sponsors want?

      7. And look at the UN? recently it was obvious UN is a corrupt institution which had received money from Saudi Arabia to give it chairmanship in Human rights commission. Should we allow such a corrupt institution to judge us? And UN officials in SL at times supported LTTE terrorism in SL soil.

        Sachoooooooooo

“No soverign country has ever conducted or allowed such a hybrid court in their country against their own army”

You are right for once. That is what Tamils also say and Tamils and victims of the war wants the inquiry and hearing totally outside Sri Lanka and with totally foreign judges so there cannot be any conflict of interests because the same party being the accused also part taking in judgement. As you say here too no where in the world the accused side also sit in judgement.

Tamils too say no hybrid courts or foreign judges to come to Sri Lanka and these judges, totally foreign should stay outside Sri Lanka and inquire and give their unbiased verdict. Because there is very serious allegations and video proofs of abuses by the Sri Lankan armed forces.

So Tamils and Sinhalese are once together to say no foreign judges or hybrid courts and for the UN to have their inquiry and verdict totally outside Sri Lanka and deliver the punishment.

As Sachoo said, and I too say Hitler’s war crimes were also heard with totally foreign judges outside Germany.
So Sachoo Tamils are agreeing with you not to have any hearing in Sri Lanka.

UN Please, we want victims who ever they are to be compensated well for the severe trauma they suffered. So please have a unbiased judgement and verdict without involving the involved parties to the crime also to sit in judgement and deny justice to the victims, so have only foreign judges and have the inquiry outside Sri Lanka without any hospitality from the criminal country as that too can influence and affect the verdict.

I guess some Tamils and many in the International Community were hoping that Sri Lanka had turned the corner in January 2015 with respect to the continued brutalisation of Tamils with impunity, something which started in the 1950s (long before the LTTE came into existence). But just like all the bogus Commissions created to investigate anti-Tamil pogroms of the past that saw no justice being delivered for Tamils, it can be certain that the war crimes investigation promises will never deliver justice either. History shows, Tamils will NEVER EVER get justice in Sri Lanka. You do not have to be a political genius to figure that out.

President elected of MS has been given 61 Million of voters do not agreed for Foreign Judges.

The lost candidate of Presidency of MR has given 57 Millions of voters also against foreign Judges.

We Sri Lankan that underlying western model of democracy which believed and accepts the norms & valued of WILL majority of votes are the that decisive factor of democracy.

The Human Rights Organization which are that affiliated to UNO having unidimensionl interest of sovereignty nation of Sri Lankan a narrow senses of numbers of separatism – Tamil terrorist political issues.

UN Human Rights organizations are abandon its own system of national integration Judicial sovereignty the very interest of Tamil separatism and Terrorism, that different elements are in way forwarded that going underlying the against western model of judiciary sovereignty of Judges by their own land or territory .

Needless to say it would be therefor lead Sri lanka into dangerous chaos of entire legal system .

What is the international criteria sovereignty of Judiciary? of the democratic nations?

Millions of WILL of Sri Lankan majority voters are denied and say NO to foreign Judges to be here by request USA, UK and the vested interest of Tamil world terrorist outfits (TAMIL DIASPORE)?

This is the principle line sovereignty which are that difference between Democracy and Terrorism of Tamil through out the Global scale.

Political Elites urgently want address the new phenomenon arise in democrat societies has been challenge by Terrorist dominated world in the sphere of Judicial system in that various forms and methods of anarchism are moving forward to that undermined valued added democracy .

They want to be justified for Terrorism-Tamil and the Democracy treating in equal footing in Judicial sovereignty at once!
This is cowardice of democracy and that crash will come earlier in principle of Rights of Humankind in different forms and models democratic-sovereignty in Sri lanka as well as in the world.

The democracy accepts is rule of majority. It is unclear as it is possible to be appointment judges form foreign countries as long as the majority was against foreign judges present in judiciary system -SRI LANKA!

      Sirisena Yatawara

Exactly and I agree 100%! That is why Tamils really wanted a totally foreign inquiry and verdict out side Sri Lanka. But UN tried to accommodate Sri Lanka quite unlike it did to other countries to give a concession by allowing Sri Lankan judges also to sit in judgment even though Tamils felt it was unfair for the accused also to sit in judgement. So now thank you for saying no foreign judges we love it so UN can go totally foreign without local judges and certainly outside Sri Lanka and give an unbiased verdict and then do not complain. UN tried to give you a helping chance quite against the wishes of the victims. We love you!

When Sri Lanka co-sponsored the UNHRC resolution was Mathripala sleeping? This is typical behaviour of Sinhala leaders – agree to something and then drop it. The history is strewn with such broken agreements leading to the non-resolution of the ethnic strife for the past 60 years.

Sirisena is a copy of Sinhala racist leaders before him. Protecting war criminals gives a clear signal to the police and the military to continue their atrocities against the civilians. Sirisena has to realise that the Sri Lankan military and police have an appalling reputation when it comes to human rights abuses. The numerous YouTube videos of these inhuman rights abuses provide ample proof.

He is taking a backward step as far as reconciliation is concerned. No wonder the Tamils who supported him overwhelmingly have become disillusioned. He and the present government can’t depend on their support in future elections.

“As Long As I Am The President, No International Participation In Judicial Process” Sirisena Declares”

    Dear President,

I donot know on what context you have released this statement. Are you trying to say that as long as you remain as the president of the country there is no justice for the victims of the war? It is now almost 18 months passed after you became President of the Country. During this period not a single victim of the war received justice from the courts of Srilanka. Are you ashamed of your justice system?
