An Australian university student has reported been raped by a tourist guide during a study excursion in Sri Lanka, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

rape-victimThe victim student was from the Australian National University (ANU), and was among a group of 15 Australian students conducting studies in the coastal town.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) confirmed they had been told of the incident.“We are providing consular assistance to a young Australian woman in Sri Lanka. The family seeks privacy at this time.”

The Australian National University was investigating the reports, a spokesman from ANU told Fairfax Media. “At this stage we’re still checking if there are any students on university work in Sri Lanka,” the spokesman said.

This is wonder of the Asia.

They the students will never be sent to SL again.

Rajapakistan’s ruler should take this to account not to leave any room to repeat this incident.
But that is against, – something like asking – ibbangen pihatu or
If Raja rulers would change it to betterment of the nation – pigs might fly.

Do you seriously think capital punishment is an effective deterrent against crimes?

Let us hear some civilized arguments from you.

As a Sinhalese Buddhists I think only punishment for Rapists and Child Abusers is death penalty. Not public caning as government think. That thought is really for satisfy to Muslims but not to punish the criminal.

So long current brutal outfit is in power, rapists, drug dealers, alcohol dealers and wide ranging of high criminals will reign in the crime friendly environments that the rulers have been creating.

Top to bottom, the current rulers are over abusive. They simply dont have a respect towards dignified life styles. Just trying to make simple criminal – high profiles ones in the lawless, impunity and injustice governing administration.

This man – MR is much worst than LTTE’s prabakaran. They liberated LTTErs now we the rest should liberate the nation from MR- even far brutal idiots that are born to destroy the poor folks of the island – that was once knwon to be the paradise for the Germans, and other europeans for their holidays.

Hope the govt does not say the student raped herself to discredit the Sinhala Buddhist State.

No they will say that it is a humanitarian operation. The student begged the rapist to rape her. Wait and see the Australian prime minister reaction he will say “It is alright to rape once in a while”. The Australian foreign minister will say “When I was there I didn’t see any rape”. The Boat minister (immigration) will say “They did this to stop the boats”

A sri Lankan raping an Australian no big deal. Both are good friends. Give them another boat Australia

“in the mean time there were a 20 other rapes on the same day”

And what is the state doing about it or for that matter Sangha?

Why doesn’t the state insist on electronic tagging of willy for each and every man in this island.

Let the BBS monitor all willy visiting places from its control centre which should be ideally placed in Gota’s bedroom.
