Don’t get excited!!. The government is hoodwinking the people. All of them are good friends after all. Both Ranil and Sirisena neither have principles nor backbones. This guy will be freed in no time.

Forget about Ranil and Sirisesa but what about the Sinhala Budhist mass? Although the R’pakse’s whole family is made of thugs, looters of public assett and cruel murderers the Sinhala Budhist mass will undoubtedly elect this ‘family’ at the next general election to terrorise this country again!

Stop moaning about Ranil, go and educate the Sibhala Budhists.

Its actually the Lankan voter not just one group of people. The rest of the comment is absolutely right.
Anyway I’m sure a private hospital will very soon have Basil in one of their VVIP rooms.

Please don’t run away from the facts. The facts are facts. Study the data from the last Presidential election; if not for the Tamil speaking voters from the NE, this disgraceful family would still be terrorising this country.

Thank you for your facts. Why you Divide these people as a separate entity? They are all part of the Lankan populace. The politicians and the so called liberators may have/ had other agendas. But we common people shouldn’t be dividing ourselves.
Otherwise we will be fighting with each other till kingdom comes, while the above two groups will be laughing all the way to Panama Banks.

Accept the fact it is the tamil speaking population brought that family to power and the same population helped to remove that family from terrorising ordinary srilankans.
Insah allah we will see some changes.

So we all need to thank Tamil speaking people for bringing MR to power and for ending the war in Sri Lanka by destroying LTTE in Sri Lanka.

Chandrika tells UN Sri Lanka must address human rights concerns

She is a real puppet of the West. She, RW, or MS wouldn’t ask the Australian government to reveal the reason for deleting my Australian citizenship, because it doesn’t help the West to occupy the moral high ground to rule the world. Do you think that we could have got independence in 1948, or finished the Asia’s longest brutal civil war in 2009 under this kind of leaders?

Above comment wasn’t published by Colombo gazette. This is call good governance. I urge the people to wake up.

Chandrika is not puppet of west. She is Chinese communist, unlike you who behaves like a home aid of Old King’s home aides.

Her family is the one descended China into the game. That is how China put a shrimp called BMICH and captured Old King’s Hambantota, the shark.

Did write anything in the essay thread of Ajit Rupasinghe? I was checking there and you were missing.

Please go and write something there. He is a real Chinese Communist, unlike you, the fake. Further, whether he is a communist or no, unlike you, he knows some politics too. Why don’t you debate with him?. Is that because he would ditch you in a drainage pipe in matter of few seconds? If you are man, if you want honor the cradle song you mother sang for years, don’t pretend like you did not see his threat.(if so, I am giving you the link below). Go and write something there.

So what about Sinhala Buddhists. This is the country of a majority of Sinhala people who don’t have a Sinhala Nadu anywhere else. It is a Buddhist country because most of the people are Buddhist. Isn’t that logical that the majority of a country has the larger numbers. So what if they vote for Rajapakses? Doesn’t it happen in other countries. In the USA, based on pro life or pro choice, pro guns or anti guns, the Republican Party gets votes because of what they stand for in the case of those who want guns to kill people but not abort the unborn without punishing the women. People have choices. Sinhala Buddhists also need to be able to chose who they want to vote for not the bloody LTTE killers and those who pretend to be otherwise and using the country. They go abroad for their own agenda. No loyalty to Sri Lanka or the new country. People have rights even if they are Sinhala. That was a stupid comment. You are enjoying peace because of Rajapakse what ever their faults they got rid of the scum killers.

Kept arrested twice in as many years, Basil seems to be the bottom rung in the Rajapaksa Ladder. Seems our prosecution time and again going after alleged minor crimes to charge them- slap on the wrist or are those serious crimes too much to handle.

” Both Ranil and Sirisena neither have principles nor backbones.”

When did you discover this truth, after all they politicians.

I do not know the real reason as to why Basil has been arrested. Media reported Basil has met a few army generals recently.

Please find out whether he is going to be sick in the next few hours, transferred to prison hospital, stays a few days in an expensive hospital, bailed out, go on holiday to the USA, free to come back, …. everything would be forgotten, …….

“transferred to prison hospital, stays a few days in an expensive hospital, “

I thought he and his party are the champions campaigning against privilege class who voice for the deprived class who always end up in jail when arrested but when those of the privilege class could always seek the comfort of Merchants Ward during their period of remand or even sentence.

After he and the party shouting against the rich and influential how can he do against what he and his party represent?

So will he also then fight for the poor also to be accommodated in Merchants ward following their dispute with the law.

Well said Daham, It must be even an eyewash to placate the anti corruption summit where our President is supposed to deliver the speech today.

Just to show the world that we have arrested the brother of former president.

It is a surprise that Batalanda’s UNP Police didn’t plant some Kerala herb in his boot..

Never heard of people getting arrested for land disputes, unless one clobbers the neighbour with a two by four fence post.

I don’t think Basil is capable of that sort of thing unlike the Yahapalana Ministers Muththettuwa and Thevare..

      Dear K.A. Sumana,

“It is a surprise that Batalanda’s UNP Police didn’t plant some Kerala herb in his boot….”

Make sure you don’t step in to this country even by mistake, for the new IGP might not take kindly your labeling his force ‘Batalanda’s UNP Police’.

He is also unlikely to listen to politicians in deciding how to run the Police. (One does not expect you to understand that).

“Never heard of people getting arrested for land disputes, unless one clobbers the neighbour with a two by four fence post.”

I am not surprised you haven’t heard of such things. Most Mara clones, supporters and hangers on, never knew the law! Neither did Mara or his “Lawyer” son!

You know nothing about how Police are appointed even in your beloved Yahapalana West.

BTW is J & F you middle name or gae name, Not Gay like your Yahapalana bosses..

BTW sorry I am late. had to go for a game of golf straight after work.

This is between you and me, keep this as confidential as possible.

Yesterday the diaspora organised a protest in front of Commonwealth Secretariat, to welcome Sirisena, according to my Elders.

        Were you there?

If you haven’t please consider joining them in future protests. They will pay you for your return ticket, put you up in good rich Vellala Tamil house, where you could have unlimited flow of malt, finger likin chicken/mutton curry, dosa, masala vadei, ….. idly sambar,…

After all enemy’s enemy is a friend.

All you have to do is, say a few words in Sinhala where the protest is going to take place. The stupid Tamils as usual will celebrate you as their national leader.

You can go back to Jaffna as the hero of the Marlborough House, they may even consider pulling you in a chariot.

Make sure you tie a Tamil style turban, apply some holy ashes on your forehead, learn to say a few words in Tamil.

You are assured of a parliamentary seat in the next election.

What are you going to see by waiting? 70 Years of running and showing the government is not enough for you learn the lesson. Are telling if the Younger Brother is released truth has won? Or are telling out of your first hand knowledge that China will capture the Lankawe(or blackmail Ramil) and have the Old Royals back on the throne? What is the meaning of your prediction of “The truth is the real winner, but it takes its own time.”

I feel sorry for the Gentleman who said “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”- Lincoln When you bring the Lankawe into this talk, he is completely out of luck. There are 20 Million Modayas in Lankawe. When you put one for you in front of it to represent you, (you are five times more powerful than them), then it is 120 million Modayas. Until this 120 million Modayas are in Lankawe, you can fool of all of them always, day and night, 24/7, 12/365…

    Daham,

“Both Ranil and Sirisena neither have principles nor backbones.”

Aha! So only MR has a backbone eh?

Was it not principles and backbone both, which made President Sirisena to stand up against the then strongman MR? What do you call that?

What would you reckon would have happened, had Sirisena lost? A genial handshake between the two eh?

It is quite possible Basil might be released as you say, only because the police and the courts are convinced he need not be in prison. Not otherwise!

Never said that MR has a backbone. The problem is that both Ranil and Sirisena in different ways are trying there best to save the Rajapaksas. Ansar above has made a very valid point. i.e.” It must be even an eyewash to placate the anti corruption summit where our President is supposed to deliver the speech today.Just to show the world that we have arrested the brother of former president”.

Much as you may be right, I fond it hard to agree. Because if I do, then there is no hope.

I see hope with these people, provided you and I and a host of others keep up the pressure and force them to do the right thing. Under any other form of governance, we would be white vanned or evaporated!

Govinda -This time the Govt. was wise. Sensing that Basil will forcibly
occupy a room in the merchant ward, depriving a place for a really sick person, they immediately released him on bail.As you and I know, this is a game of routine arrest and discharge played to bluff the gullible public and the President and the PM are not interested to put any body behind bars as this is a circle where their turn too comes. The Govt.has already decided the fate of the culprits as other wise they will not engage in political activities and working hard to select the next set of ministers & the PM after the next election. Its only fld. Marshal Sarath Fonseka will have to watch out.

This regime is probably afraid of this unscrupulous character after he met military officers. RW is scared of the Army. Has always been so. That is why he roped Fonseka in to his side. But having said that, we all want to know how this man made his wealth during MR’s regime. Even when Basil was in the UNP and a protege of Late Hon Gamini Dissanaike, he was known as “Mister Ten Percent”. He was called that repeatedly by Chandrika Madam too. He was not even shy about demanding payoffs. Now we know everyone does that, but he became too greedy demanding even more and more on every project and contract. They thought it was their Ammagey Boodaley or Mother’s wealth they inherited. Ask Sajin Vass; he was their lackey too.

Matara Magistrate: This time, please put him to Matara hospital along with other patients; but with specific instructions not to disturb the inmates by any types of visits by VIPs and Buddhist clergy to chant “Seth Pirith” and tie the “Priith Nool”. What happened to his other case of “Divi Naguma” fund frauds on which he was given bail in June 2015? Was that date “yesterday” or a “year” ago? I ask this because we have forgotten and rather confused with varying “episodes” of this lengthy “Teledramas”. Matara Magistrate, have fun and enjoy.

I don’t see any serious comments from above. The law has to take its own course of action. You just can’t do things in a haphazard manner. Merely b’cos of hearsay people cannot be taken into custody and action filed and proved guilty. It is said more than 48 investigation -completed files are at the Attorney’s General office for want of filing court cases. This requires additional attorneys of which a certain numbers have already been recruited as per the press release. All these procedure will take time. Every thing is easily said than done. If every one have deep understanding of governing a country – which is equivalent of running family or business – we could expect some thought provoking comments.

Ranjith, it’s one thing to be gullible and another to be realistic.

Are you saying that for the past year and more, the reason there hasn’t been a single conviction of any members of the Rajapakse gang is because of ‘due process’?

And you want us to take your comment “seriously”?

      Seriously!!!

      • 5
        1

Realist, have you ever gone thro a legal process? Even a simple case of theft takes more than a couple of years to come to an end and sometimes the culprit goes scot-free due to loop-holes in the legal system.
To expedite the investigation on the past mis-deeds -FCID had been formed and work done systematically.
Please remember that one one has to be diplomatic considering the political climate and other realities, without bringing the country into a chaotic situation.
Don’t please dream that after 8th Jan 2015, and Aug 2015, Angels numbering 225, have come from heaven to rule our country.
If you are a real ‘realist’ your comment would have been quite different.

          Ranjith A ,

Cut the crap mate , are you pretending to be serious ? do you want to know the real reason behind all these NATOs ? Mahinda Rajapakse Mafia had successfully created a state within the state , in other words all most every where Rajapakse disciples are pulling the strings . Even though the top management has been replaced , 2nd , 3rd layers are still intact . during the period of 2005 to 2015 Rajapakse Mafia had laid the foundation where no body would ever pose any threat to their governance style , who ever tried to resist in any form were severely punished and humiliated . Gen SF , CJ Shirani , Manjula Thilakarathna , Lasantha W are few of the names come to my mind.
judiciary and police were his pet subjects , Hadn’t DiG Vass Gunawardana leaked shiranthi’s Gold scam , he would have been the IGP in Sri Lanka . that big time cheat , Mohan Peries was appointed as the CJ for a specific reason , that’s to rape the country in the broad day light . When MY3/RW asked him resign from the CJ post in early Jan 2015, he had pleaded with them not to do so ;instead , he had promised to deliver any verdict which ever they wanted . that is the calibre of Mafia king’s choices . do we need to talk about convicted murderer DIG Vass G’s integrity ? whoever trying to guard these high profile criminals , they themselves are criminals .

Rajapakse loot is in Dubai , Virgin islands , Ukraine , Singapore , sea Shells , it is believed that nearly 18 to 20 Billion of US Dollars been stashed away , due to sheer stupidity of this Yahapalana regime , Rajapakses still riding the high horse .

Srilal, Once again your comments are not relevant to subject matter. All what you have stated had already been expressed by many others and were published in the press.
However to prove all these allegations it not easy at all. Only when the individuals are proved to be guilty the punishment will follow accordance with the law of the country.
Most of those who comment want the people with various allegations be arrested; cases filed; found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment.
This is possible only in a dream world. so let us – law abiding citizens push the rulers to be sincere; honest and be faithful to the trust we have placed on them – at least a few of them when we elected at the parliamentary election.

              Ranjith A,

What is the subject matter here ? The subject matter is , why not any of the Rajapakses behind the bars yet , if you think that’s not relevant here ,then what is relevant here ?
You are on about due process and so forth , try to steal something from the government and see where you and i going to end up ! after all these endless crimes , not a single culprit had been found guilty and you call it due process ? my foot !
Mahida’s ghosts are haunting the nation , almost all the main stream media’s main topic is Rajapakse ;thus, Rajapakses are still dominating in their news bulletins. we have had to put up with Rajapakse junta for the last 10 odd years , still no sign of ending that nightmare.
Duminda silva’s broad day light murder case of Laksman B was a classic case in point , according to your logic , Duminda silva is an innocent person , why ? just because he was acquitted due to bizarre reasons ! Rajapakses made sure no matter what , if the culprit is one of his henchmen , he/she will never spend the time behind bars . what is this due process BS . irony is , exactly the same thing repeating under a different pretext.

In your terms. MS is a criminal, Looks like he is guarding most of them now, All those accused for corruption are in the government!

Simply we could encat the law and punish mervin silva for tying a person to a tree, Yahapalana govt not bothered to even do that!

Do you think they would go after Sharks?

        • 0
          0

You are confused. You are not sure even whom do you want to defend.
“Don’t please dream that after 8th Jan 2015, and Aug 2015, Angels numbering 225, have come from heaven to rule our country.” How many people are you think, eher, dreaming that there 225 angels ruling the country? Do you have to tell that to others? They don’t get it?

White van culture is back again. People tried to protest against that. But Bald headed rowdies went there and threatened them. Under what kind of procedure you are using the white vans to kidnap people and torture them in prisons? The commentators are calling the Younger Prince’s arrest and release is a drama because they could not see any points in any of these arrests and releases. Soon or latter the Old Royal family going to start filing court cases on these false arrests and releases, then the government will be happy to pay damages in addition to the $18 billion.

in Vidya’s case UNP leadership was accused to forcing their lawyers into her family’s legal team. The Sinhala lawyers went there started to mess up the case. Are you saying that is a procedure exiting in Lankawe? The DNA report is still not submitted to court. So for more than a year her murderers’ sample has not come to the court. But when they wanted they had it done in leader Prabhakaran’s DNA and cremated his body in 12 hours. Why the medical procedure taking so long in Vidy’s case? Now the private company who tests the DNA is saying it has not been paid for. Let me ask you a question. Can you find out from this company for how many court cases it has withheld the results because the payment was not received. How cases it has done after her case? Where it did get the payments for those cases? How the payments to this company is is done as per your procedure? Is that a one to one cash basis? Any test are done only if the voucher prepared, approved by authorities, check printed, signed and delivered and they start the test? Did they do all that in 12 hours and had it tested on Leader Prabhakaran’s case?

So how Pillaiyan got arrested in a second and why his release is not coming forth? It is the procedure? Now it is the same case with OIC Champika Perera. The Royal family committed is out, but he worked on the case as a police officer is in! As soon as the new IGP came, in four hours he ordered to arrest Champika Perera. The OIC told them it was his seniors told him to destroy the evidences. Now he could not come out, but the seniors are not arrested. What kind of procedure you need to arrest a criminal. Especially in this case the witness is a police OIC. Is that not enough to arrest a criminal?

Do you remember when the new IGP ordered to arrest Champika Perera, all the commentators wrote comments with high hopes with this new cannon? Now there are reports that his appoint is a political appointment. There are talks the Old King tried to promote his guy but the UNP rushed and brought this guy. Then can you explain what the Constitutional Criminal Council did in his selection? Sampanthar nod his head for all what the Yahapalanaya government ask for. Ranil won the election promising “No leader, no commander, no soldier will be prosecuted”. Champika Rana Veera dodged his accident case(still going on). Radhika saved Karuna and blocked Udugama report. Wijeyadasa refused resign with Avant Garde Case. Ariyadasa is a hopeless person. Out of nine bullets in Constitutional Criminal Council six are duds. Can you explain me what procedure was followed in selecting the new IGP?

“Vaelikku Oonnan Chatchi. (The Chameleon on the fense is the witness that it is fense has been stealing the harvest from the crops). You are the Chameleon, here.

The MS Government is hoodwinking the people. Next Namal will be arrested and freed on Bail. The FCID should release all the proven charges against this corrupt politician

If this happened in a another country, even in India they will never get bail on charges like this. As I have heard he will be freed with the help of another most corrupted political thief call S.B. Dissanyaka and he will be taking to meet President to get his help to sort out SLFP issues at present. However they should remember one thing, that this is not a SLFP related matter. This is crime against all people of Sri Lanka. If someone responsible for stealing public money, Tax payers money for his or her own fancies, they should be held accountable for country and must be severely punished with existing law.

    Sapumal,
Do ” all people of Sri Lanka ” are equal? If so is it guaranteed by the constitutional laws ? Chandlers told at the UN the proposed new constitution will make all equal.
You want severe punishment under the existing law then the Yahapalanaya must have to bring back CJs like Sarah N Silva, Mohan Paris or Shiranti Bandaranayaka. Based on the past experiences they are good interpreters of any existing laws and will make things happen.

I know what do you mean. however, it is not realistic to expect something from which is not yet implemented as a law. It may take some time to change the constitution. On the other hand even if there are loop holes and short comings in the present laws, it has enough teethes to bite.It depend on the individuals and justice system.

Jubilation and then disappointment in CT posting community. Getting any Rajapakse arrested is their dream.

When you get more thumbs up than thumbs down on a post that claimed over 70000 civilians got killed by Sri Lankan armed forces in the last phase of the war, you know who post on CT. Most hate Rajapakses for obvious reasons.

None of these politicians are saints. Arrest them all for their wrongdoings but don’t be selective.

As soon as the election was over Younger Brother Prince ran to America and stayed until(2015 August General Election) he started to feel safe to come back. Two weeks ago the Brother Prince came back from America after going into hide about the FCID investigation. Yesterday Younger Brother Prince was arrested. He appearing as happy as the high school kids getting into limousine to go to the prom. How did he cultivated this kind of coolness within that time? Even before he get into the police limousine, he appears to be aware of the drama and the time he is going to come back.

I feel sorry for the Gentleman who said “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” When you bring the Lankawe into this talk, he is completely out of luck. There are 20 Million Modayas in Lankawe. Until these Modayas are in Lankawe, you can fool of all of them always, day and night, 24/7, 12/365…

instead of arresting and bailing, arresting and bailing for offences that are far less serious than what he has actually committed, isn’t it better to arrest him for plundering the so called 18bln USD and boil him.so it is one arrest and boil, instead of a hundred arrests and bail.

This is all Yahapalana Smoke & Mirrors Show of PM Batalanada Ranil. and the President Bodhi Sira..

President told the World from London yesterday, that he is stopping all Corruption.

Sira’s first attempt to stop it was in his own backyard, where the President wanted the Singaporean, who runs the Yahapalana Central bank, sacked for fixing the Inaugural Bond Issue of the UNP Government.

    And guess what

Yahapalana PM told the President to get stuffed. It is all in the CT but not in those terms though.

And the Singaporean has the audacity now to say, the Yahapalana High court Cleared him, as if we don’t know that the current Boss of the High Court was appointed by Batalanada and sira themselves.

UNP Yahapalana special Police has been doing over time for 15 months now .

    And who did they find?,

They are all Chettiyars, Kundanmals, Anglicans and the Yahapalana Archtect and Batalanada PM’s cousin the ex President’s Secretary’s son..

And not forgetting Abiththya’s special advisor

Of course genuine Srlankan Business people who have earned their money overses also have had Panamanian accounts.

So did Batalanada Ranil’s white cousin Mr Cameron;s dad.

So what is the big deal.

If Basil paid LKR 50 Mil for a block of land so be it.

If you put that into current perspective. it is virtually pea nuts , because the Field Marshall was given LKR 70 Million worth set of wheels to drive the Yahapalanaya.

And his buddy Batalanada PM bought , not one but two sets for a mind boggling one thousand two hundred Million LKR.

That would have bought Matara town itself with the Magistrate’s Court…

That is 12 Million in USD.

Wonder whether one of those Yahapalana suckers enlighten us as to what make these are.

The Rajapaksa’s FCID drama , reminds me of an old song during my teens, of

There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza
There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole

Go fix it dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry
Go fix it dear Henry, dear Henry, fix it

    ————————-
    at the end again

There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza
There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole

    ——

so this is our fate , after five years back to square one with that un fixed hole..
