Buddhist monk Galagoda Atte Ganasara was sentenced to one year of rigorous imprisonment, commutable to six months, by the Homagama Magistrate’s Court a short while ago.
The key figure in the controversial Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), Gnanasara has also been fined Rs 1,500 and instructed to pay Sandhya Ekneligoda Rs 50,000 by way of compensation.
The sentence can be appealed.

Two charges: Each getting 6 months to be served concurrently, which means six months.
“Gnanasara thera was issued six month rigorous prison sentences for each charge to be served concurrently.
The thera was also ordered to pay a fine of 3,000 rupees, 1,500 rupees for each of the two charges.
Failure to pay the fine will result in the thera being issued an extended month as rigorous imprisonment.

Let’s see whether the law is equal to everybody.
Gnanasara Thero can follow Lalith Weeratunga’s and Anusha W’s footsteps and make an appeal. If Judiciary is independent and equal to everybody, Thero should be granted bail. After sometime while on bail, Thero can even make a request to the Courts to go abroad, and it will be granted the same way Lalith W who was also on a 3-year RI went abroad while on bail. While on bail, like Lalith W, Thero also can contemplate about writing a book or articles to newspapers about the reasons that drove self to lose temper and blah blah blah…
Lalith W and Anusha P didn’t spend a single day in the prison although they were found guilty for misappropriation of Rs. 600 million government money. Personal opinion of the people about Lalith W don’t matter. What stands is the Court verdict. Let’s see whether every citizen in Sri Lanka enjoys the same rights of Lalith W and Anusha P or is it selective.

By the time I read this GREAT NEWS OF THE DAY , I was in a tram in Zurich heading to my hotel room. I had been visiting Zurich University for a long day meeting.
THere I thought something towards serving justice is seen at the end of the tunnel. It is indeed a good sign.

After he took over, hardcore terrorists were released from prison like magic since 2015 until recently. The terrorist who brought the lorry laden with 1008 kg bombs to destroy Colombo was released citing lack of evidence. According to the court records, people have to assume that the lorry loaded bombs by itself and got caught while walking to its target un-manned. Another hardcore terrorist who killed 6 Army men who were in the security detail of the Pakistan HC was released citing lack of evidence. There was no accountability for the death of army men. We have to conclude that the claymore mine concealed by itself in a rickshaw and attacked the convoy by itself. Two other hardcore terrorists on some other crimes were also released later. Under Yahapalanaya government terrorists enjoy special privileges. No wonder Sivajiliangam and Wigneswaran taking law unto their hands and making every effort to resurrect LTTE in the North. They cannot do it without the patronage of the President, the PM and the Yahapalanaya government.
Anyways, all Sinhalese who were among 62 million who voted a terrorist friendly government made a monumental blunder. The next government/President will definitely be citizen friendly. Terrorists beware.

Buddha advises Bahiya to train to realize that “in the seen there is only the seen” and so on with all other sense organs.

In other words, train yourself in such a way that when you see (read, hear, sense, et al.) something not to attach too much (or little) to understand that “in the seen there is only the seen”. Taking the present example of my first comment, what I said was, “if you want to disrobe him be ready to faint when you see his big weapons”. You did not take that phrase as it is. You read too much in to it. You thought only about his sex organs as the weapons.

This “Maha Pindapatha” can start from Abeyaramaya premises in Narahenpita and get GR and his “Viyath Maga” members to make the “First” donation. Very probably, they (GR & Viyath Maga) would make very many times of the amount (Rs. 53,000.00) required and declare the “Maha Pindapatha” was a “Big Success” and called it off at the very starting point. The “Lotus Eaters” who lined up the streets would disperse chanting “Saadu…..Saadu…. The END. I, personally congratulate and offer a “Big Thank You” to the Magistrate who upheld the sanctity of Law & Judiciary and setting a good example to the rest of the “BIG WIGS”.

The whole thrilling show everybody was waiting to watch in the Mahabharata war was Arjuna and Karna faring a duel. It came up. But Krishna was not with the audiences. He wanted it short. So, soon after the start, he played a trick. Arjuna managed to pass an arrow right in the chest of Karna – a foul. The war was about to turn as dull. But there was a voice from sky shouted “Krishna I am not going to let you have all to your way. This graceful man is not dying. I challenge with my life to save this guy”. That was the voice of Angel , Dharma. Karna was the most graceful philanthropist in that Epic. The duel would have tuned into interesting again, if had she been as powerful as Krishna, the Avatar of Prime God Vishnu. But she was not. Arjuna was standing still for moment to observe what was going on. Ignoring the angel’s challenge, Krishna directed Arjuna to shoot more arrows and kill Karna. Arjuna showered with arrows on Karna. Alas, no arrow reached Karna, instead they a turned into flower garlands and decorated him when they reached Karna. Arjuna got tired and asked Krishna “Krishna, Do you see it? My arrows cannot do anything to him”. Krishna said “Yes I see that. The Angel of Dharma is shielding him. Now you can do nothing to him. She is being stupid enough to honor one man’s few times graces to prevail over the right thing happening over the wrong thing for the entire world. This blockade to good things happening can be removed by me only”. Then Krishna went to Karna made him to voluntarily donate all graces to him. Karna fell down.
If the graces of the vegetarian, who fed the human flesh eating hungry sharks, can shield him from justice happening is to be witnessed soon. Krishna already got all the properties earned by Karna, by his shark feeding grace. Krishna can ignore all graces and still make good things happening to everybody.
