Thanks to the Buddhist revival in India by the Silankan Anagarika Dharmapala.
Do you know when the first Prime Minister of India visited Srilanka he was amazed by the serenity of the sedant Buddha Statue in Mahamevunawa, and waited silently gazing at the statue for long time. This statue and the Sky high Dagabas and the tallest brick structure in the world Jethawana Stupa were all build by Sinhalese with the blessing of the Buddha Dhamma.Huge Irrigation tanks canalas and sluice gates which marvelled even european Engineers were built by Sinhalese with the blessings of the Budda Dhamma.
All but not the least we are thankful that Prophet Mohamed was not born in Srilanka, because if it happened we will never inherit a history that all Sinhalese could be proud of.

In Buddhism there are two types of mental development, namely,
1.Samatha Bhavana (concentration mental development )
2.Vipassana Bhavana (insight mental development).
Samatha or concentration meditation helps to develop tranquility while insight meditation teaches the method of realizing the true nature of beings and the world.
Vipassana Bhavana or insight meditation helps to eradicate defilements step by step, part by part , and piece by piece finally in toto. It is a complete destruction of greed, hatred ,and delusion.
Gandasara though he claims to be a buddhist monk is devoid of any serenity or tranquility which comes through meditation and self realisation. He speaks violently and acts in a thuggish manner. Not becoming of a person who has given up his wordly cravings and desires. BBS is a disgrace to the teachings of the Buddha. The faces of these people reflect their hate and anger not like true disciples.
