Buddhist Monk Spreads Anti-Muslim Venom Amid Social Media Ban

Even though the Sri Lankan government has banned social media, Islamophobes are still spreading anti-Muslim venom on various social media platforms, Colombo Telegraph observed.

For instance a Buddhist monk called Budhdha Rakkhitha has yesterday uploaded the following video clip on his Facebook page and threatened Muslims again. The racist video clip, full of anti-Muslim rhetoric, is currently going viral in certain social media circles.

On 7th March, the Government has moved to clamp down on social media, presumably as a measure to curb rumor-mongering following the inter-communal clashes in the Kandy District.

President Maithripala Sirisena has directed the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission to enforce this block for three days.

Accordingly, Facebook access has been withdrawn while group chats in Whatsapp have been blocked. Video and audio messages cannot be sent on Whatsapp.

Meanwhile a 14-day detention order on the 10 suspects arrested on charges of inciting violence in Kandy, had been issued using emergency regulations that are in place at present.

The detention order was issued by the DIG of the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID). The suspects were brought to Colombo for questioning, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera told media. The curfew would be re-imposed in the Kandy District except in the Kandy Municipality areas from 8 p.m today till 5 a.m. tomorrow. So far no monk has been arrested, Colombo Telegraph learns.

This saffron thug bugger, who is an insult to Buddhists, should be arrested and thrown in Prison
Instead the corrupt and criminal regime of Bondscam Ranil, whose Mega Police Minister organized theanti-Muslim riots to distract everyone from the UNP defeat and Ranil’s need to be IMPEACHED for grand larceny at Central Bank, and the No Confidence motion in Parliament. is shutting down social media which is exposing the killers..! What he is trying to say is stop the population growth of Muslims –
1.Stop the child marriage special law ! which allows Muslims to get married small girls.
2.IF no children in 1 year of marriage they have a special law to divorce the girl by “triple thalaq” according to Sharia Law (this also valid in Sri Lanka according to a lawyer)
3.Muslim men can marry multiple girls according to special law in Sri Lanka if they are Muslims!!! this law also practiced !!!
4.Girls are forced to wear full face cover – numbers increasing these days even school girls are now wearing full face cover dress,.

These are the root cause for the hate and violence.

Without fixing the special law to allow one religion to grow the population dramatically – there is no solution for these kind of issues

Dear Raj Jey, I believe you really lack understanding about the Muslims in Sri Lanka. In my family, there are so many couples who do not have children and we are told in the Qur’an to do patience. Not to do divorce.

This saffron robed MONKey is not a Monk but a Punk, nothing but a thug. He are not only humiliating the Buddha and Buddhism but also converting Buddhism into Barbarism. These Punks are supposed to go out only from house to house with the begging bowl to beg for food, not to go out on social media and strike terror in the minds of poor innocent people.

The poverty stricken Sinhala Buddhist villagers not only offer free food to make these MONKkeys gobble and get fat but also offer their young children (boys) to the Buddhist temple to be ordained as a monk and get abused, molested and sodomized by these adult monks who prey on their innocence to satisfy their carnal desires.

Today, Sri Lanka has become a strong hold of Buddhist aggression and terror and such acts are spurred by none other than these saffron robed Sinhala Buddhist skin headed Punks who call themselves Monks. The hate mongering and terror attacks against the Muslims were motivated by Buddhist monks. These buggers must be in jail for lifetime for all their atrocities against innocent people.

        Definition of a Monk:-
“A member of a Religious Community of Men typically living under Vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience.”
‘Obedience’ to the Laws of their Order!
Who Orders these ‘Men in Robes’ to go out and destroy Other People?
It is up to the Government to Find Out, and Punish the Perpetrators!

I am in full agreement with jamis panda. The only solution is to shoot some of these pariahs in the mouth or strip them naked and tie them to lamp posts and light a fire.

This govt could have controlled the gana pariahs during the anti SAITM demonstrations. However neither MS nor RW had the backbone. they are no leaders but sukers.

Rubbish! Hundreds of Buddhist monks and activists have rallied in the Sri Lanka’s capital against anti-Muslim riots. The National Bhikku Front said they organised the silent protest against what they called “communal clashes destroying national unity”.

Muslim Friday prayer was held in Digana in a school ground peacefully as the area mosque has been destroyed, nearby Sinhalese helped them to prepare for prayers. Buddhist Monks stood in solidarity with the Sri Lankan Muslims during Friday prayers.

    To All You Wise People!

Can someone please throw some light on the true reasons behind this mayhem that
takes place every now and then ?

Is there any truth that certain Islamic countries are pumping large amounts of funds
to promote radical Islam in our great country ?

If so should that not be a concern for all communities, to realize the dangers of such acts which
must be a catalyst to incite radicals, ignite these fires ?

And how do we address such a threats in a civilized manner, not through riots ?

    • 13
      0

      Peace for all

“And how do we address such a threat in a civilized manner”

      That’s the challenge

Unfortunately our people, especially Buddhists/ monks are demoralized.

The worst thing is our demoralized police service,

    • 5
      2

      Peace for All ,

The reason behind this mayhem is that the WHOLE OF SINHALA
population is led to believe that the country called SRILANKA is
theirs . One hundred percent of Monks keep reminding this to
their devotees in Temples .All institutions in the country functions
in that belief . If not for the voting rights of Muslims and the
international community, the situation would have been
unimaginably terrible . There are exceptional instances where
Sinhalese and Monks have good relationships with Muslims and
generally people are receptive , calm and quiet towards Muslims
but HATRED against Muslims does have a place in their hearts.
Muslims are not all clean they are racists too but the problem
here is they don’t bring it to public life . Section of Sinhalese have
come out in public with their hatred and the police and politics
watching on , wider Sinhala public doing nothing ! There are
only two things , you stop it or you are part of it ! It is about 70%
      vs 10% .

The Mahanayakes do they have the guts to remove the sivura of this person and throw him out of the order? If the Mahanayakes do this only the other Buddhist priest will not do it. This should apply to all religious leaders.

    • 2
      1

There is a vinaya code in Pali for Bhikkhus to observe. As long as they abide by these Mahanayakes cannot do anything. Probably abusing non believers in Sinhala is not within this. If you go through social websites several mullas and moulavis are abusing non believers and nothing is done about it.

At this point of time if we analyze the reasons for what has happened and happening in Sri Lanka we all can come to the conclusion the first blame should be assigned to the Politicians. To be in power the Politicians propagate hatred. Then the blame should be assigned to the Courts as they do not deliver judgement in a fair manner, the courts give decisions not according to the law but according to the requirements of the politicians or the rich. The next group that should take the blame are the religious leaders. The religious leaders do not take action against their own flock who spread hatred and violence. Then comes the police for not doing their jobs independently and fairly. Lastly the media. Although we have free media in Sri Lanka, most of the media organization have become politicized and above all they telecast and put out their own opinion. Media should not give their own opinion to achieve their own goals, the media should give news and analyze news. Good example is Maharaja group media, they keep on attacking the Prime Minister. They did not get media freedom to do it, they can provide news and analyze the news but not drive all discussions towards attacking the PM. If we can make all the above groups to function the way they should function then resolving the challenges we face today could be resolved in a very short time. Its the duty of the citizens at least from now on to call out when these groups violate or do not do their part properly.

    • 1
      0

Blame-shifting. We are all responsible for our own actions. To put the blame on someone else for our actions, no matter what incited them, is makes us the victim. The people that encouraged these acts are not victims; they are perpetrators. First you must blame the person who acts, then go up the ladder to where maybe the thoughts were instilled and came from and contemplate how we can make things different, but not visa versa.

So although you are probably right about most of what you wrote, the blame starts with the person who acts and no one else.

He has more hair than me.also i think a beard too.IS the sect with the purple robes permitted this. Are they pseudo monks of the “aapu minissu”(people who came to srilanka from kerala a few hundred years ago to do the work that the sinhalese did not want to do.Then how come he talks of a 1000 years of heritage and belittling the muslims as recent arrivals.Aren’t they both then “aapu minissu”.

I think the sinhalese who came as recent arrivals and became bhuddhists make a much bigger racket about bhuddhism than the original sinhalese in the upcountry following the mahanayakes.

what this donkey should understand is once you become a citizen, the time of arrival in srilanka is immaterial and you have a rights just like anybody else. That is why in myanmar they never allowed the rohingyas to get citizenship and here too indian tamils were repatriated under the sirima shastri pact. The muslims here have been in ceylon for generations as traders and have married the locals and are citizens for a long time, even longer than this donkey from kerala.

he is right when he says we can’t go to muslim countries and have our own way ignoring their customs. That is because we are citizens of pakistan and afghanistan are are we?

This is what Islam teaches followers to do their housemaids ..this is not only to Sinhala maids but also to Indonesian Muslim girls.Indonesia about to ban girls going to Arab countries even Bangladesh
Malaysian Muslims treat Indonesian Muslims maids are shits so many tortures and deaths in Malaysia.
Something wrong with this 4th-century sect.
How can you expect respect to other religious maids while they treat their own maids worst than slaves?
Arabs are not bothered about the suffering of these Tamil speaking Muslims here they will continue to take maids no worries.

The Devadasi system still exists. (Devadasis of modern India are largely concentrated in parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. They are called Mathangi in Maharashtra, Jogini or Mathamma in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Devadasi in Karnataka.)

They say “main suspect was arrested” .The main suspect should be non other than Gnanasara. He is the modern racist who planted the seeds of racism in the minds of innocent Sinhalese. Its the honorable duty of the Maha Sanga to remove that hatred from the masses. WHERE ARE THEY?
I sawthe racist Amith in his office. Looks like racism is a lucrative profession by the looks of his office. I’m sure the poor people who fund his campaign only see such things only in movies. (They cant afford to see such things even in their dreams).
Whoever is caught should be deprived of their civic rights and their wealth confiscated . DOES THE GOVT. HAVE THE GUTS FOR IT?
Unfortunately these comments are not read by the members of the government as pointed out by another reader. The members of the govt. are busy making deals to fatten their bank balances. The Muslim community leaders are no different. Just ask the Auditor general’s office check the wealth of these fellows. One of them recently was named one of the richest in our country. He did deals with Rajapaksas in selling scrap metals. The sad truth is only the Tamil politicians are behind their electorate. At least they should take steps to point out the facts to the so called leaders of this country to see the opinion of the masses. They sure have a national duty than the Tamil electorate. I CHALLENGE ONE MEMBER OF THE GOVT. TO REPLY MY COMMENT.

Why are all these saffron cloth wearing thugs not arrested and charged? Law is if indicted punishment meted out is not less than 20 years jail. Is wearing saffron cloths an immunity and impunity from crime? We have video proof this saffron thug bullying this Muslim man

Looks like this law was made for the minorities to not to hit back (and to bear all the beatings) otherwise if they hit back, then face 20 years of incarceration. What a racist country we are in.

Only solution is for Sri Lanka to be ruled by another country liker in the good old days and then we all are ‘Sri Lankans’ with equal rights. The people from the ruling country are not coming here to live but only some representatives sent to administer. So there is no ruling class, and all living here are Sri Lankans
As it is now we are categorized either as majority or minorities where majorities plunder the minorities, what we clearly have seen right along fromthe so called ‘Independence’.

“As it is now we are categorized either as majority or minorities where majorities plunder the minorities, what we clearly have seen right along from the so called ‘Independence’

May be you have no knowledge about the situation prevailed in this country before Independence. From 3rd Century BC, Sinhalayo fought wars with Indian Demala invaders. Then came Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial parasites. Particularly during British rule, Demalu and Muslims licked the a?? of British and treated the Majority Sinhalayo as a minority and discriminated. Most of the Demalu and Muslims are the descendants of Demala slaves brought to this country by colonial parasites. Sinhalayo should have kicked out these ‘aliens’ after the country got independence as they did in Burma but Sinhalayo did not do that. So you guys should be grateful to Sinhalalyo for not expelling fathers and grandfathers of the present generation.

Knowing the difference -The Birth right of a Born citizen and an Expatriate
    ———————————————————————————————-

If a country has citizens born in that country he or she has full equal rights to enjoy the freedom of their religious and rituals and full access to the economy ,commerce ,the right to attire of choice as long as it is in accordance to the culture that is to say ,not be rejected because it is foreign or different ,but it is not be considered vulgar according to the nation’s cultural values.

Bangladesh/Indonesia/Malaysia/Brunei/ being Muslim Countries have Buddhists ,some are origins of
the land but most are those whose ancestors have migrated many years ago, nevertheless as long as they are citizens, they fully enjoy the equal legal rights of all other citizens of these countries .

On the other hand Expatriates are people who have gone to the middle-east to work and there are no Buddhist citizens there , so their constitution has no provision to permit building of Buddhist Temples and erecting of statues ,while for an example Kuwait has a Minority (a very small one) of Kuwaiti Catholics and they have a very large Church facing the sea which is more prominent than the mosques when ships reach the port, As These Catholics are Kuwaiti citizens they have been given the same privileges.

“Knowing the difference -The Birth right of a Born citizen and an Expatriate”

The only ‘RIGHT’ a human bring to this world when born, is to ‘DIE’ peacefully. How an individual spend his or her time in between is unknown and uncertain, (Sabbe Sankhaaraa Anichcha). So, where you live is immaterial but how you live that matters. No two living beings are identical in any department though they are interdependent & interconnected. The ‘Enlightened One’s’ advice was to spend that time between the two sides of the coin of life, ‘Birth——Death / Sukha—-Dukkha'(Pleasure-Pain) in tranquillity (Adukkhama Sukha). Forget about rights of individuals, start living your life, rightfully (Noble Eightfold Path) it’s ‘Here & Now’ as the every breath you take move you closer towards the end of ‘rights’, death. May you be well and happy.

You are right.Citizens of a democratic country are entitled to the rights you have mentioned above including the freedom of religion. But in most Muslim countries even the citizens are denied religious freedom. Don’t forget that leaving Islam is a crime punishable by death in these countries.Expatriates are not permitted to build temples or erect statues or even to practice their religion in these countries not because they are expatriates but because the said countries do not accept the principle of religious freedom.

      • 1

But then you are happy to send your housemaids to these very nations? You have to know that we are a democratic nation compared to those Islamic nations. Just because they stoop low, we don’t have to match it. Let us live the Sri Lankan way.

These are Sri Lankans…their faith maybe different to yours. Maybe you should take time to associate your non Buddhist neighbours in the near future.

I’ll leave that as work in progress for you Migara :)

What on earth has made our people, especially Buddhists so demoralized?

    Aren’t our police demoralized?

There cannot be flames without fire. but there must be a proper way to face challenges.

What are the internal & external threats we have to face?

Isn’t it noticed that more & more men/women seek medical attention for infertility,

What are the impacts of alcohol, drugs, smoking & other possible reasons upon sexual health of people?

A high profile commission with members of medical profession must be appointed to study & investigate these matters maintaining very high professional standards letting no room for non professionals to intervene.

“However UAE ,especially DUBAI ,had to considered differently, it is a Cosmopolitan International Business HUB of the Arab world .”

      Wrong
UAE became an International Business HUB of the Arab world (which is not except for money laundering, human trafficking, slavery etc. ) because the Bush jr., D.Rumsweld and the ‘Clan’ wanted it be and ‘Twin Towers’ 9/11 was part of the plan.
Sultanate of OMAN was the first Middle Eastern country to let Buddhist religious places to be allowed with the blessings of His Royal Highness, Majesty, Sultan Qaboos Bin Al Said. May he be well, happy and long lived. KSA,UAE, Bahrain and a few other powerless Arabic countries were loosing their hold on the economy and looking for alternatives. The present crisis between Qatar & the above are a result of that cunning plan of the Bush administration. It is not worth fighting over Religion, Race, Power or Money anyway. Nothing stays still even for a Nanosecond.,(the closest I can define a ‘Chiththa Skhsanaya’).

In some Arab countries allow Buddhist shrine it is not for Sinhalese but for Thailand..Vietnam.Taiwan..Myanmar nationals working there.
But guardian of Islam Saudis will never allow this ..Muslims are living in fear that people know about other religions and change their mind.
Already Iranians in the Netherlands are becoming Christians realizing Muslims are unable to live in their own Muslim countries and moving to the west for their own safety ….because of this 4th-century religion.

My question is…what the government is doing about curbing, controlling or stopping the violence in spite of having so much of Tri armed forces and police ? Shame on you fake Yahapalanaya hood wink talk.

The country is burning as usual with the blessings of the present government or not ?
Why ? to cover up something or planning some strategy for your own sick political reasons ?
If you cannot stop this nonsense , murder and mayhem….just go home or you will be packed off and sent..

Shameless brutes calling them leaders and rulers and bringing down, destroying everything…

Sell 50 % of our country to China and the other 50% to India. Even if you do not do that they will take over by hook or crook anyway..
Do not worry about ISIS or Al-Quieda…they are just spent forces now..
But take care of your own Saffron clad rogue monkeys if not they will destroy the country completely..
No jokes..they are already doing that with the blessings of Triple Gem and the Mahanayake sleep walkers..

SWRD made the first blunder and you all guys are doing more and more of the same..you will reap the benefits and others also will suffer because of your stupidity…and fake religious practice.

Bring stability by declaring Lanka as a Secular nation.
Remove this damned thing called foremost place for Buddhism..
Treat all citizen equally and do not interfere in religions practiced by citizen of Lanka.

They all know how to cherish their own religion and look after those better than you , good for nothing governments..
Discipline the forces and police and teach something to the people who misbehave..
    Punish the culprits, murderers, etc.,

I know you will never do anything useful until it’s too late or completely destroyed beyond any repairs..

All the best for Shit Lanka…

Pardon me my Sinhala and Muslim brothers and sisters…I’m writing this with full of pain in my heart and soul…These regularly on going violence are too much to bear…

Buddhism is a philosophy, as such do they believe in a higher power (God) for accountability and judgement?

Every Politician speaks about peace, however, who has contributed to the incarceration of the undesirable elements in the country?

We have the technology to apprehend the hate speakers but the King’s Party and the SinHella Parties are aiding Financially and Political support to protect those who are openly instigating violence.

The cancer will return as they have enough ill gained cash to purchase Politicians and invariably return to plunder more and destroy what’s left in the country.

Naganadu comes here and shout his calls out for the “learned True Sons of The Mother”.
I wonder, if he had seen the true sons of the Mother at work, now or they are somebody else and he is still waiting.

“Learned knowledge comes with its own doubt”. Knowledge and the doubt on that are one mother’s twin children. The knowledge was born a moment ahead of the doubt. If one is missing you can be confidently doubtful that the other one is missing there. If you don’t see the presence of his inner heart’s doubt radiating in the eyes of the one who beat on his chest and claims he is learned, you can be sure the true knowledge is missing in him. It is only the sword called enlightenment can cut the umbilical cord relationship and liberate the knowledge from the doubt. In all other times, he is only an empty vessel.

We have been with this Monster from 1915 and even earlier. The land is filled with its venom in all the Govt. Institutions including the Judiciary and the armed forces. No body has the guts to challenge or change. The whole country has to end up in gutters now. This is the real Paradise Lost for ever.

Buddhism has gone to the dogs with third grade monks and trishaw drivers in the driving seat creating anarchy.
Politicians are playing the religion card for election maneuvering.
    Country economy is hit, why?

    Peace for All
Is there any truth that certain Islamic countries are pumping large amounts of funds
to promote radical Islam in our great country ?

To be honest , all religions have become the cause of bloodshed instead of being the source of the well being of, humanity,it has become the worst enemy of humanity..

I really wish for two things ,one wish I was younger, & the could find a nation where Religion is a personal matter .

I wish even at my age I wont be hunted like an animal, like what we saw few days ago because of my race and faith ,.

I wish I could find to a Country where I will not be hunted by Muslims because I want serve God the way I want to ,even if the 2 billion Muslims less one ,brand me as a non Muslim ,am okay with it ,even if they discard me as an apostate its okay with me ,If God can wait till judgement day to judge me am okay with that as long as People do not try take his place . I

wish I can find a country that will not hunt me be because I bear an Arabic name ,because I believe in God of my choice , because I believe in a divine book of my choice ,because I choose to pray in my own home and hear my prayers in my home , I wish I can find a country that has zero tolerance to narcissist who uses their superstition to demonize me for their misfortunes by their own stupidity .

The time has come for Sarath Fonseka to take leadership and act in a manner to tell us all who the persons who were involved in the riots and the people/party/MPs who instigated it. President does not even have the guts to appoint a Presidential Commission, he has only appointed a Committee of inquiry. Why? Whom is he protecting? Sarath Fonseka today has the support of the masses, we have seen it in the comments and the TV discussions that he is the most suitable person to hold the position of Minister of Law and Order. After having appa with Mahinda president did not appoint him. Its time Sarath Fonseka tell all of us the public the truth with no fear or hesitation. Sarath Fonseka has the support of the voters today, even his popularity today is much higher than of Maithripala or Ranil. I am sure most of UNP MPs and SLFP MPs who are clean will support Fonseka’s efforts.

I see a lot of people are having difficulty understanding what is going on in Sri Lanka.

It’s very simple – there is an effort underway to de-stabilise and topple the present government.

The end goal is the return to power of the former President and his brothers.

People of Sri Lanka wake up! Do not let your country be turned into a Corrupt, Lawless Failed State.
