Why can’t locate it at redundant Mattala Air port; there’s a possibility to save construction cost.

    No risk for Anuradhapura people.

Decommission Mattala, and let the Jungle Grow back. Turn the White Elephant into a black elephant.

Then there are no maintenance costs.

Make sure the Armory at Anuradapura is not in a Flood Zone.

The need for this armory can be traced to the infamous 1956 Sinhala Only law.

Anuradhapura is a holy city. Why place a armory there? Sanga must oppose.

      Manlike,
I remember seeing reports saying Anuradhapura, holy city, had most prostitutes in SL in 1990s.. Obvious reason was that the biggest and most populous army barracks were in Anuradhapura.. Did any Sangas make noice?

Let us campaign and clear all these evils without giving them the blank cheque to do all what they want without any protests.

Where is our rabid Modawanse, hybrid Gammanpulle and kassippu Dinesh Gunawardene. Why can’t they join with Mahinda and go on a Dunlop Yatra to Anuradhapura. Dayan can write a good profile about it.

Let them go and demonstrate in front of the prostitutes dens, army camps and against the proposed armory.

Let them even carryout an amude demo in a big way.

The Sanga must support them. I for one will support them.

“Anuradhapura is a holy city. Why place a armory there? Sanga must oppose.”

To begin with the Para-Sinhala “Sangha”, the Third Gem of the the so-called Triple Gem of Buddgism did not oppose the Sangha raping boys, girls and women.

They did not oppose killing of the Tamils and Muslims at Aluthgama.

Why do you think they should oppose at Anuradapura? Holy Para-City? A case could have been made had they followed Buddhism, as taught by the enlightened Buddha.

Because The Land of Native Veddah Aethho ccupied by Para-Sinhala following bastardized Para–Sinhala “Buddhism”?

    That is it…

Sinhala Buddhist Bashing started in 2009. And it peaked in 2015 and beyond.

Now who would have thought this was coming..

May Bodhi Sira attain Nirwana …

Is this in anticipation of a future South vs North-East war or vice-versa? This was a spontaneous question that arose in my mind on reading this news.

You got a point mate..But no South this time.

It will be all Pollonnaruans and Anuradhapurians who will will be commanded by Bodhi Sira.

Our Southerners will be separated by two buffer zones this time when you add Batalanada’s Megapolis.

Please ensure that the Armoury meets all international norms and the first underground armoury is audited and approved by a competent Safety authority before the rest is built.

We cannot take a risk in Anuradhapura. The Army Commander should give a Letter of Assurance to the President and that he will personally carry out walk-through audits at regular intervals to ensure that it meets the international safety norms.

With so many experts working on this, I bet it will end up right in the middle of the Holy City; that is Sri Lankan style of planning!

Must The Whole Armoury be built on one site?

Wouldn’t it be Safer to have Several Smaller Armouries in Strategic Places, where the danger of One Massive Explosion is reduced.

One Bomb on a Single Armoury, would destroy the Whole History of our Nation in One Blow!

It is not only a North South War we must Anticipate!

Imagine this stash in Anuradhapura and then they go again boom- we won’t have the holy city to begin with. Hope safe distances will be kept.
