Channel 4: The white Vans That Take Away Sri Lanka’s ‘Disappeared’
They come in unmarked white vans. The people they take are never seen again. Human rights groups say one person is taken this way every 5 days. Leena Manimekalai met the families of Sri Lanka’s disappeared.
this can’t be true , especially Prageeth’s case , our current CJ and MP Arundika fernando reportedly quoted as saying ” Prageeth is hiding in a western country” , so this is all propaganda to tarnish the image of our motherland and our king , my suggestion is to arrest two boys and their mother immediately and lock them up.

Did Cameron and his armed forces kill them all?

What is noticeable is how well Jon Snow has mastered the terrorist lingo. He is quite at ease referring to the fantasy “Tamil homeland”, “100,000 disappeared” and “miltary occupied territory”.
He is entitled to be referred to as the Voice of the LTTE.

Do you know that a Sri Lankan man, a Tamil from Jaffna, presently domiciled in Canada, came to visit his wife and child, did hire a “WHITE VAN” and two persons from Wellawatta and killed the wife after paying a good sum of money? Before this man was arrested, it was widely published that the Armed Forces based in Jaffna did the murder by using this WHITE VAN. But later, when the man was arrested, the so called “Human Rights” activists kept mum of the whole story. The Police should have given wide publicity to this case and we ourselves do not know what the present status is.
This is what is going on. Yet I do not for a moment expunge the Government of its responsibility in bring this “white van menace” to a halt. This has become the norm of the day in committing crimes and the responsibility of eradicating it definitely lie in the hands of the Government. The lackadaisical enthusiasm on the part of the Government has led to a situation of a mockery of the administration of justice.
So this story of “White Van” is again another “TOOL” in the hands of the Human Rights Activists.

I fear there is something sinster about disappearances here. A recent
revelation in the London Times can be tied down to “forced live organ
harvesting” taking place in SL too:-
Leena, can u please ask the journalists of C4 who were driven to safety by a driver be paid his fare? Shameless morons walk away without paying the driver who chose to drive these people to safety than get stoned or broken bottles thrown at them by the mob… ( people should try walking away off a taxi in London)
Shame on the whole crew, who claim to be voicing for the voiceless.. They made a huge cry about obtaining visa’s… they got it, sadly they cheat an innocent driver of his livelihood. Where has ethics in journalism come to? They may claim that they were forced into this van by the Army or Police… BUT the ones who rode are these SO CALLED journalists. DID they think that the van belonged to a Grandfather of one of the Journalist? When u grow up in a society without principles these things can be expected… so I am NOT awed…

Ha…ha…ha can’t stop laughing at Asange’s pleadings! If you are feeling so upset, why don’t you pay the poor driver out of your own pocket? If you had been bundled into, say, ‘a white van’ and given an unsolicited ride to a destination you never wanted, would you feel obliged to pay the white van driver, ah?
Next time, tell those drivers doing errands for the regime to remember to collect the fare from the regime as well.

I live by ethics and principle. IF it was me who was given a ride by the VAN DRIVER I’d have paid him for the services rendered without batting an eye lid..

ONLY Gentleman dresses EVEN in the dark…. goes an old saying… how would u know? after all ur a nangi..
How did u determine this DRIVER runs errand for the govt? next time be more HUMANE…

I think you are losing your touch or perhaps, not being fed with the correct info.
Didn’t even know that the train was stopped by a MOB at the behest of the regime??? Better call yourself “Aiyooo Baba”.

I think you have to Grow Up.
They were forced in to a van and driven to Colombo.
I dont think they were allowed to negotiate the fare.
Anyhow follow their tweet, they agree to pay the driver, provided they dont have to pay the driver of the car who is following them where ever they go

When people are forced into vehicles against their wish and sent a place they don’t want to go and ask for a payment. Police only send them and they should pay.

Had this been told to the DRIVER in advance, I bet the crew would have had to WALK all the way.. Moreover A driver from Anuradhapura isn’t as smart as YOU who may be having the luxury, writing from an air conditioned room may be the basement of ur aging parents..
FORCED or NOT they saw that the driver was NOT paid by whoever asked them to travel in a van or even forced them. switch the tables and be in the shoes of the driver, who drives for a living…

Incomes the Rajapaksa / GOSL apologists who will deflect the White Van menace by bringing up crap the Brits did and by bringing up the LTTE who (were defeated more than 4 years ago) are now supporting the Rajapaksa/GOSL regime.

Astonishing, but not unexpected, to see all those Mahinda support troop
members and their comments to this. Not a word about the content as such and the questions asked. Only trying to ridicule the film and those making it, completely avoiding what is shown and the stories people tell. Now tell me. are these Mahinda openly racist loyalists just stupid or born without brain? In any way they don’t seem to understand what people in the video say…
