A letter released to media via email by a group posing as the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) has put forth several spine-chilling pledges that had raised alarms over the fate of minorities in Sri Lanka. However, the organization’s Chief Executive Officer Dilanthe Withanage told Colombo Telegraph that the press release was not circulated by them.

The letter – printed on a BBS letterhead, bears the organization’s logo and is signed by its General Secretary Galaboda Atte Gnanasara. It was released to the media this evening, stating it contains the main decisions made by the BBS during their executive committee meeting held on June 25.
According to this document, the following pledges had been made by the BBS members to address the present crisis they are facing:
- Decision to form an armed group affiliated to the BBS in retaliation to the recent attacks against their organization; support from the Defense Ministry and Burma’s Buddhist extremist movement, the 969 group will be sought to establish the armed group.
- A BBS unit will be created in every Sinhala, Buddhist school while taking measures to oust all non-Buddhists from each of those schools.
- Rallies to be organized in Mawanella, Batticaloa, Ampara and Beruwala in order to mobilize Sinhala, Buddhists against Halal products and the purdah.
From here on if any halal product or purdahs are sighted, immediate action will be taken by the BBS force, against the items. This action plan will be implemented through direct contact with the state intelligence services. Further discussions on the plan are being held between the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa and our CEO Dilanthe Withanage.
- Considering the assistance given by the Defense Secretary during the organization of the BBS rally in Aluthgama, our organization’s Executive Committee meeting has selected Secretary Rajapaksa to represent laymen in the Committee.
However, when inquired by the Colombo Telegraph on the genuinity of the letter released to the media, Withanage said they believe it’s part of a conspiracy against the BBS as it was not released by them. He had gone on to state that they will lodge a complaint with the CID on Monday to prove into this email that was circulated.
“This is a conspiracy against us and creating problems in the country. I have a strong feeling in Aluthgama also some group attacked to create problems. We will complain to the CID on Monday to investigate this false email. Even my Facebook account has been disabled,” he added.

This letter is not from the infamous Gnanasara. Because the words, Thambiya, Marakkalaya, Ponnaya, Pakaya,Pakkaliya,Paraya and other normal street words he is famous as uttering is not there. So there is no way that the letter can be from the BBS- Gnanasara.

In spite of all that was known about ongoing activities of Thowheed fundamentalist organisations like Thowheed Jamath, all that so-called moderate Muhammadans are hell bent on demanding police arrest Ven. Gnanasara and government ban Bodubalasena.
Muhammadan writers here appears to believe that Thowheed activities are no concern of Sinhalese and it does not affect Sinhalese therefore do not cause religious disharmony in Sri Lanka. But the truth is on the contrary.

Hameed, president of ACTM, a traditional Muslim of a Sufi order said; “we are now helpless in the wake of the Thawheed-backed Jihadi group.” He opined that fundamentalist extremists like Thowheed Jamath continue to deliver sermons on the need to preach “true Islam” to all Muslims. He says that “true Islam” is nothing but to reprogram the brains of traditional Muslims.
These Thowheeds strongly believe that they have every right to oppose those who practice Islam in a ‘wrong’ manner and ‘correct’ them.
Majority non-Muslims must understand what this “true Islam” is: A report in Sunday Times on August 16, 2009 that said “a number of Muslim home guards recruited to fight LTTE had deserted their unit with weapons to join Thawheed for a “Jihad” against traditional Muslims” is an outcome of “true Islam”. “Muslim-Muslim fighting on 25th July 2009 in Beruwala, and the subsequent killing of two Muslims and forty being injured was a direct result of Thowheed effort to change the practices of traditional Quadri Sufi Muslims of the area” is also an outcome of “true Islam”. “Derogatory saying like “Buddha had eaten human flesh and ‘triple jem’ means just three stones at a meeting in Maligawatta on 13th April 2013” by the secretary to Sri Lanka Thowheed Jamath, Abdul Razik is also an outcome of “true Islam”.
It is clear “true Islam” project is going on without hindrance. No doubt this fake press release is just an extension to it. Thowheed give no option to BBS. BBS must continue its proactive activities and face up to the Thowheeds (not violence).

Though represent opposite sides, Watareka Vijitha and Galagodaatte Gnanasara are same type of monks. But Vijitha is a good monk and Gnanasara is a bad one for Muhammadans. Ven. Kirama Wimalajothi, a scholarly monk who primarily dedicate his time and wealth to Buddhist publications is a different type. Ven Sobitha, a fiery preacher and an orator is a bit of everything. Then there is my classmate General Weerasekara who became a monk to meditate and try and end his samsara. Ven. Gnanananda devotes his life to teach meditation. So, there are many different types of Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka. Buddhists are used to such monk for that had being the case even Buddha’s time.
Aim of Gnanasaras’ and his BBS is to save sinhala Buddhists from Thowheed, whereas Jihads, Taliban, Al Qaeda aim is to kill kafirs for the sake of Allah. If you cannot appreciate that, I cannot help you. I know Muhammadan hate me for mentioning Thowheed killings.

The cited clauses are well within their (BBS) ambit of total minority control and hegemony and we all know it. It also sends a subtle message to the rest of the brigade on their next moves to destabilize their minority targets.
But things didn’t going awry when this particular email came into the possession of civil society after it went viral. Their sinister plans now stand fully exposed in the public forum. In their effort to cover this up which undoubtedly is a criminal intent, they planned a preemptive strike in the form of total denial and claims of it being a hoax, a fraud, a fixture or whatever, to disclaim all responsibility of writing it. The letterhead no doubt appears original with their organization name printed in the background as watermark (obviously done to prevent forgery), The text of the letter is printed in the foreground.
By now it is abundantly clear who or what we are dealing with. Their atrocious acts are unbecoming of Buddhist monks taken as a whole. They have proved themselves to be capable of a whole range of nefarious criminal acts such as incitement to violence through hate mongering, murder and their favorite – looting (collection of war bounty), and then arson.
It looks strange to see even their women folk participate, dressed in white with large handbags filled with rocks, stones and sharp objects. These missiles are handed over to the men folk involved in the rioting, to be hurled at the enemy, to smash their homes, businesses, with intent to cause maximum damage. They expect that by participating in their Holy War of attrition, which destroys homes of innocent people, making destitute the women and children, they imagine they collect enormous rewards in merits (Pin as in Pinwathuni). They have all been brain washed.
Whilst we know BBS at a lesser level, will distort facts without batting an eyelid, espouse incessant and concocted lies after lies, subsequent denial of the very lies as claimed by them in public, including character assassinations, rhetorics along racist lines calling for subversions, and then defiantly deny saying anything of the sort even though it is all recorded and available in the public domain.
Misrepresentation of facts and figures to suit their warped thinking. In fact the whole range of criminal activities, which essentially pales this single act of alleged forgery into insignificance.
The time has come to be more alert to the rogue elements of BBS monks, including their modus-operandi and expose their machinations in order to save the gullible public from getting carried away by believing their aspersions. They are truly unworthy of any real respect, that is afforded to most other true Buddhist monks, living in the country.

The points raised in the press release purported to be issued by the BBS General Secretary, could be summarised as follows:
1. Forming a BBS affiliated armed wing, with support sought from the current Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and the 969 Buddhist Group in Myanmar;
2. Establishing a BBS wing in all Sinhala Buddhist schools and working towards expelling all non-Buddhists from those schools;
3. Rallying Sinhala Buddhists in Muslim dominated areas to take immediate action with the support of the state, against any Halal products sold in those areas and against wearing of Purdah; and
4. Electing the current Secretary to the Ministry of Defence as a lay representative of the BBS Executive.
The CEO of the BBS believes that this is part of a conspiracy against the BBS, simply because it was not released by the BBS. When I read the press release purported to be issued by the BBS General Secretary together with the statement made by its Chief Executive Officer, several issues appear to lack clarity.
Despite the statement of the CEO that the purported press release was not released by the BBS, could he also clarify whether:
1. on 25 June, a meeting of the BBS was held at its Head Office;
2. any one of the four points summarised above relates to decisions the BBS have had taken at any of its previous meetings; and
3. the BBS disagree with or repudiate any of the proposals in the statement purported to be from the BBS and if so, why?

Circulate a fake letter under the heading JIHAD SRI LANKA which says SLMC leaders extended their fullest support to JIHAD SRI LANKA to eliminate Sinhalese non believers from Aluthgama.
The letter should end with this quote from Quran:
