The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) which is currently investigating the controversial billion rupee bond deal of the Central Bank is hoping to present a special report to Parliament on their findings before end of this month.

On Tuesday, COPE handed over report containing their findings of 19 public institutions including Bank of Ceylon, Ceylon Electricity Board, Rakna Arakshaka Lanka, SriLankan Airlines, State Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Central Bank, Sri Lanka Cricket, Janata Estate Development Board, Agriculture and Agrarian Insurance Board, Lankaputra Development Bank and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
According to COPE Chairman Sunil Handunneththi, the Central Bank bond issue warranted a special report, as it required further investigation due to the severity of the issue, and hence a special report on the committee’s findings will be presented to Parliament within the next two weeks.
COPE has meanwhile once again summoned several officials of the Central Bank this week to carry out further inquiries on the bond scam in which former Governor Arjuna Mahendran is accused of playing a leading role.

If we start attacking Rajakasshes.. we will have all kind of crimes carried out by them as example. They are almost no secrets to any grass eaters though they back the very same murderers again and again.

When this Interim Report was presented to the Parliament, the Leader of the House agreed to print it and that would make it a Public Document. It deals with 19 Government Institutions that are of most concern to the people. Therefore, I would request CT to publish (even in installments)to be read by the large number of readers of your page. That, I consider a great Public Service to make the people aware and knowledgeable on what is going on with their Rupees and Cents.Thank you.
