De Facto Chief Justice Says The Only Person Who Knows Everything Is Gotabaya

In an appalling display of his close affiliations with the Rajapaksas, de facto Chief Justice Mohan Pieris has stated in Courts today that the ‘only person who knows everything is the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Secretary.

Pieris and Gotabaya

Pieris and Gotabaya

This remark had been made by Pieris today during the hearing of a Fundamental Rights application (No: 414/14) where a group of Agricultural engineers/experts had challenged the new service minutes, pointing out it has deprived them of being promoted to higher positions in the Agricultural Department due to being forced to remain part of the Sri Lanka administrative service.

Whilst the case was being heard, Pieris had told that he is well aware and knowledgeable on solid waste management and agriculture and had gone on to criticize the engineers, calling them ‘useless’. At this point, the lawyer appearing on behalf of the petitioners, Manohara De Silva had pointed out the de facto CJ should not let his personal knowledge interfere with the ongoing case while adding that the only knowledge that should be applied is legal knowledge.

However, Pieris had dismissed De Silva’s statement adding that as a judge, he has the power to refer to his personal knowledge as well.

As the hearing proceeded, certain comments had been made on the Colombo Municipal Council, which is not at all relevant to the case that was being heard. However, Pieris had continued to comment on it as he moved on to speak about the Sathutu Uyana fund, which he had claimed was initially mismanaged but is now in right hands of MOD Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

“The only person who knows everything is the Defence Secretary. He also knows about waste management,” the de facto CJ had stated shamelessly violating professional ethics and the independence of the judiciary. Manohara de Silva had responded to this claim stating, “But I do not want him to do the job of my clients.”

We also need to educate Sinhala Modayas on the ECONOMIC CRIMES of Nivard Cabraal at the Central Bank and implications = increased poverty and inequality!

The ECONOMIC hardship that people face, reflected in the Uva elections, is due to the politicization of the Central Bank and the manner in which the people of the country are forced to pay for the huge economic mess and CRIMES that Nivard Cabraal is making and the culture of living on borrowed monies which is endangering the banking sector in the country.
DEBT culture of the Central Bank – a BAD EXAMPLE!
We hear about the politicization of the Judiciary incessently on this website but not enough about the POLITICIZATION OF THE CENTRAL BANK. The Central Bank is lying about inflation rates to drive down interest rates so the Nivard Cabraal can borrow more money from local banks at low reates for the Mahinda Jarapassa re-election campaign, and to pay debt, but it is the people who live on fixed deposites and the poor who are suffering due to inflation and CB speculation in currencies as well… Nivard Cabraal is involved in short term manipulation and speculation with savings of average people at this time. We do not know the real inflation rate because Nivard Cabraal wants to embark on a borrowing spree from local banks and is now trying to drive interest rates into the ground – single digits – so he can borrow at low rates from local banks. The interest rates on fixed deposites which is what the elderly live on has dived within six months from 13 percent to 6 percent. Now Cabraal is forcing people to take out their monies and spend on consumption! The CB has lied about inflation rates in order to cut down interest rates. Nivard Cabraal must be held accountable and the politicization of CB explained to Sinhala Modayas who are suffering as a result of policy instability and political circus of premature elections. CT editors we need more political economic analysis in these columns!

“We also need to educate Sinhala Modayas”…

What about educating the “demala” murderers and “lansi” idam horas who are still occupying our lands 70 yrs after “independence”?

You are an arrogant prick hiding behind a pseudonym.

@Foreigner, hahaha you are a bloody joker to call Don Stanley an arrogant prick. You are a vile racist prick who thinks the Tamils came after the Sinahelse and occupied the land. You are occupying the land of veddahs. This was never your land to begin with. If you can stick this in the little brain and process, then you will understand. The Tamils fought for the independence for all. The Tamils did not sit back on their hands you fool. You must be a Thambili salesman who has some or other gotten hold of a computer and writing this imagination. Go and hang yourself you dimwit.

Indeed Don! Bottom line is that the majority of wage earners and retirees who make an honest living are suffering due to FINANCIAL TERRORISM of Nivard Cabraal at the Central Bank.

Cabraal is now manipulateing inflation figures to fix low interest rates to borrow more money from Banks and generate more debt in order to serve the Rajapaksa military dictatorship and its cronies and KINGSBURY Lifestyle! The lack of policy stability is the reason why there is a NO CREDIT growth with no REAL job creation in the REAL ECONOMY. Hence, in preparation for the election the clown who is the minister of Education – Banduala Gunawardena has said that he will hire 50,000 graduates to train them to teach IT, English and math as if there is no system to train teachers already! This 50,000 recruits are another vote buying election ploy that should be challenges by the Teachers Unions and the OPPOSITION. Only Ranil Wickramasinghe is having holiday in UK rather than protesting
        1. THe premature budget and premature elections. The latter is a massive waste of public funds.
        2. What happened to Krish development in Fort? And where is the environmental Impact assessment for the proposed Colombo Chinese port city. Ranil and his UNP clowns in the opposition should be demanding accountability and educating the SInhala Modayas on Mahinda Rajapaksa and his brothers’ and cronies FINANCIAL TERRORISM against the people of Lanka.

Look at the Cheap Justice’s subservient pose in the presence of Gota in the photo: That says it all.

Gota, of course knows everything: He is very valuable in war crimes investigation to find all the mass graves of both Sinhalese and Tamils, may be some Muslims too!

I agree with Don Stanley about the incompetence of Nivard Cabraal. In January 2009 when the world currency was taking a dive, he was hastily squandering the housemaids remittances earned with tears to buy up US Dollars and Sterling to keep the rates up and earning the accolade of having the strongest currency in the world. That must have brought a smile to his face, but, at what costs? Our exports got too expensive and could not compete with others. The icing on the cake was that our imports got cheaper, only to increase it and attack our balance of payments. The Tea, Rubber and Coconut remained unsold in the world markets bringing the relevant industries to near collapse. It was only the subsequent depreciation that saved them. It’s a miracle he is still there.

      CHEAP JUSTICE says;

“The only person who knows everything is the Defence Secretary. He also knows about waste management,”

Of course “the Defence Secretary HOTHMBAYA knows very well about [JARAWA KEAMA] aka waste management”.

All The Jara passa Clans Are Waste Management Experts,
      {DHAJA Jara Pappala}.

We should not blame the Chief Justice for blindly following the Rajapakses. If he started telling the truth, he would be villified with trumped up charges and soon be out of a job just like his predecessors. This reminds me of Gypsies song tongue in cheek that all these wrongs only happen elsewhere, never in Sri Lanka.

All “offcials” of dubious track record in SL are often dressed in pure white. Why?

I find this so offensive. Rather repulsive actually.

White attire now resonates at once with corruptiion and brutality in SL.

Worse than walking around in a “Kurrakan” shawl.

Cheap gimmicks to trap stupid SL electorate.

      Cheers!

That is true, I too agree with Cheap Justice. Gota knows how to kill, how to create religious unrest, how to use white Van to make people disappeared, How to grab Lands by chasing poor, how to make commissions using National Security, how to attack peaceful protests, how to use Police and Armed forces for his dirty political work, how to manipulate Judiciary for personal gain, how to protect Child rapists/Drug Dealers/Criminals etc. and list of things that he knows are very long.

More I read about this Choo Justice, I feel more and more remorseful about Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is progressively losing everything and the people there will be turned into herds to be controlled by dogs.

This is what the military rule in Pakistan produced and today we see calamity all over that country.

Sri Lanka is heading in the same direction and if the situation is not mitigated soon, there will be no redemption forever.

Mervin Silva has expressed his interest to become the President. This will be an inevitable consequence if the masses do not respond to the call for change.

I also feel that Sri Lanka is unable to extricate itself from the mess because thousands of violently dead human souls (masaonas) are haunting Sri Lanka.

The Choo Justice is really contributing to the malaise.

    .
Yes, Gota knows everything….. he knows who killed Lasantha? he knows who killed VP’s 10 year old son?
but he still doesn’t know where KP has all the money hidden, that’s why KP is still alive.

    :-)

It could be speculated that KP is kept alive for:

      a. Since Gota is a joint-account holder now of finances under KPs
name, where both signatures are required.?

      b. KP is well-versed in such international transactions and is there
to guide Gota in monery-laundering and connected activities.?

      c. To extract information when ICC charges come up in he future?

      d. So that he is not extradicted to India for intelligence services?

Well…..the guy is doing his best to think outside the box and understand Sri Lanka in the purer form of neo-post-colonial-Sinhala-Buddhism(infused with minority rights, of course),….but is ever so baffled and is not quite sure if he is doing the right thing. From Carlton pre-school right up to the Pope(and all things in-between), he is praying hard from deliverance from all things delusional. For example : poor fellow looked sadly un-assured and lackluster at the Pope-meeting, and was wondering what the heck Pope coming to Sri Lanka has anything to do with anything.

Jenn, I think you are being sarcastic. He was in the right place at the right time. It was the combined strategies of the top brass at the Army, Navy and Air Force and the hapless personnel, now being discarded, that won us the war. I recently read the diabolical treatment the dead body of war hero Gen. Janaka Perera received at his funeral. In the Colombo Telegraph Magazine there are several cases of gratuitous torture inflicted on retired soldiers.

Brother Prince knows a lot more than the Modan Pieris. What to do?

Modan Peiris knows only one thing. That is “Saji is really a tough guy. If you meddle with the Prince, Bouncer will beat you and throw you out of the cabaret Court.

Killing KP would be like killing the goose that lays golden eggs! Gota has learnt his nursery stories well!!! He must be getting a golden grain of sand now and then!

The other issue is that the Sinhala Buddhists get blamed from all sides. Please don’t blame all the sinhala Buddhists! True Gandassara is a sinhala Buddhist and so are the RRRR. .. but pause for a moment! Shiranthi R, Nivard C, Mohan P, AG…Palitha F, Johmston F etc etc are all catholics! That does not mean all Catholics are sh…..tz!

The photograph says it all.. look at the way he has humbly tied his hands.. in a way saying YES sir….. If Gota asks cheap justice how much is 1 and 1 ? he would not say 2 or even eleven. His answer would be.. Sir, what u say is the final answer.. that too without batting an eye-lid… Such is his allegance to Gota the Monster… Karma is a Biatch.. would bite the asses of the likes of this cheap justice, GOAT and their ilk sooner than later….

For all the complainers and whiners including yours truly…who will refuse an invitation from Mahinda Rajapakse, Basil Rajapakse, Gotabaya Rajapakse or from Mohan Silva??? Will all of you ignore it? Will some of you pretend to ignore but RSVP? Will the rest of you act like you have no issues with any of the above?

If your head was spinning trying to come up with the ‘acceptable’ answer, you are NO different from the people you criticize.

They are doing what you wish you can also do. It is as simple as that!

Until we can individually say to ourselves that enough is enough and WE WILL DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY, nothing will change.

CHANGE MUST COME FROM WITHIN US, not from some where else.

This could mean only two things:
1.Mohan Pieris knows less than GR on many matters. This is a relative quantitative situation. Obviously it is not a qualitative discrepancy from what we see is unfolding. There is apparently no quality in both, although both occupy the highest chairs in their careers of choice, for reasons we know.

It is not what you know that matters, but what it makes one become! This is the ultimate difference between the educated and the knowledgeable.

So the judiciary is headed by the kings Golaya who defers to the oracle of all things the kings brother. All the old notions of an independent judiciary and impartial judges are things of ridicule. What we need is more partiality and judgment according to the knowledge of the oracle.

The fact of the matter is that corruption in Sri Lanka was estimated at 350 billion SLR in 2011, today it is at over 500 billion SLR.

The bulk of this is shared by the Rajapakse mafia.

Peiris is the bosom pal of Gotabaya the Defence Secratery. That was why when GOTABAYA commencement the Arms Procurement Arm called Lanka Logistic gave him TWO share and he took FIVE share from the 10 shares of the company in their personal names, while the Three Forces Commanders got ONE share as Commanders. When Gota commenced his Rakna Lanka he allocated Two share to Mohan, when he was the AG. Why, Gota who with a Ordinary Level pass and getting his Army Examinations answered by Palitha, may be holding a post normally allocated to very educated Administrative job. According to the Job description DS should know many things, but NOT Gota, the man who has created hell for the Sri Lankans by creating this UNCHR investigation for unlawful killings.
If Mohan praise Gota, he may be the CJ till he live. CJ Mohan Peiris’s a person with a very good Legal knowledge and fairly Rich family background with a very good practice bow down to political gimmicks and lower his status by doing things not meeting his attitude.
