Disce Aut Discade – Minister Dayasiri Finally Gets It Right At Ravi K’s Expense

Taking advantage to clear his earlier made blooper which went viral on social media, Minister of Sports Dayasiri Jayasekara finally pronounced the Royal College Latin Motto ‘Disce Aut Discade’ correctly during a televised interview at the expense of his fellow parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Lotteries.

Minister Jayasekara taking full advantage whilst being interviewed by a local television channel went on to pronounce the Royal College Motto ‘Disce Aut Discade’ correctly which he had earlier made a hash of at a media briefing during the famous traditional Royal Thomian cricket big match in march of this year.

That particular video clip went viral where Minister Jayasekara ended up been at the butt end of many jokes that went viral on social media.

During his interview Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara emphasized that the current government was voted into power to wipe out fraud and corruption.

His statement comes hot on the heels as currently the entire nation eagerly awaits the outcome of the Central Bank ‘Bond Scam‘ investigation where Minister Karunanayake is severely embroiled in.

However now many renowned old boys from Royal College have commented that Minister Jayasekara in spite of attempting to correct his earlier made blunder has nevertheless used the Royal College motto completely out of context.

The Royal College motto in Latin which reads ‘Disce Aut Discade’ means ‘Learn or Depart’.

Speaking to Colombo Telegraph a prominent old Royalists said “During his interview Minister Jayasekara uses only the latter part of the Motto ‘Discade’ which means ‘Depart’, to convey his message that many corrupt heads of states such as former Presidents such as Egyptian Hosni Mubarak and South Korea’s Park Geun-Hye and also Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were ousted from power due to corruption”.

“In Minister Karunanayake’s case he is still learning how to steal from the public funds without being caught. So the chances of him remaining in power is still very high despite the Joint Opposition MP’s filing a ‘No Confidence’ motion in parliament for his ouster,” he further said.

Ravi Pentouse is still learning how to steal and how to lie!

Disce Aut Discede (Latin “Learn or Depart”), or is it Disce, furantur Aut Discede (Latin “Learn, Steal or Depart”).

After all Ravi Penthouse is a “Royalist”, and does he know some Latin? Caveat Emptor? Are most “Royalist” crooks?

Good god, CT has given more coverage to this NON story, compared to Ravi K Huge corruption. Imagine if it was MR, we would have non stop coverage filled this site. This important story about Daya would not even have the space. One does wonder what connection does Ravi K have with CT for its luke warm coverage of the Ravi Issue??? Truth eventually comes to light.

In our time at Royal, Latin was a compulsory subject and we used the famous three volumes – green book, red book and blue book. I also took Greek as an optional subject. For most of us at Royal it was a case of Disce ET Discede (learn and depart)

What “Disce Aut Discade” does this Rillawa (Simian) Sirri know about motto’s? This shameless hypocrite’s mission in life and motto was to take millions from the Rajapaskha’s to jump ship from the UNP to pledge allegiance to the MR Mafia. We all saw this simian driving around in Hummer’s and enjoying the super luxury life style and now shamelessly pointing fingers at Ravi K. These useless politicians should be hanged in pubic. Rillawa Sirri now trying to parrot a motto of a school this bugger knows nothing about, failed to read and pronounce in a previous speech, cannot even spell if given not a second but many more chances. If Royalist have balls, they should sue this RILLAWA (monkey) and crucify this hypocrite for butchering their motto. Esto perpetua means let it be “PERPETUAL”, and in this case DAYASIRRI proves that he is a perpetual Rilawa that is physically and mentally “unfit” to hold any portfolio.

What has happened to the Maha Sanga or the clergy of this country – why have they gone quiet on this matter of high moral conscientiousness?

Ravi vacating post now is not subject to any future findings by the PCoI. In the ordinary course of PCoI business inquiring into the bond scam (its mandate) – evidence of heavy financial impropriety implicating the sitting Foreign Minister had transpired. Among them to make such revelations is none other than the CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER of one of Ravi’s family companies. Evidence revealed Ravi has been the direct beneficiary of large sums of cash from questionable origin -though in his pathetic, ill advised, regrettable testimony Ravi denied any or all direct knowledge. However much he may want to rely on selective mental functionality or memory loss there is preponderance of evidence to suggest that he and or his family benefited financially in gigantic proportions.

Therefore, good governance dictates when evidence, however fluid it may be, appears implicating a sitting public official, such official should vacate post forthwith, without delay. In this instance – Ravi is presumed guilty until proven innocent. Ravi must leave or made to leave.

Claiming neither the President or PM has requested Ravi to leave and therefore to sit tight on his posterior is shameless, arrogant and speaks volumes against his very own utterance outside the Commission on Wednesday that he is striving to uphold the principles of good governance.

Ranil – rest assured this is your last stint as PM. Never will the electorate EVER trust you. You are so spineless, lack the fortitude to instill discipline and up-hold the very reason for which you and MS were elected. Your Dad – man of great moral consciousness and principles must be turning in the grave shamed by you.

Didn’t the SLFP supporting Assgiria know this was coming some 4 years ago. If not please advice Assgiria to subscribe to Colombo Telegraph. The Chief Assgiria would have been informed some four years ago had he regularly looked into the state of affair reported by CT.

As I remember it, it is not discAde but discEde. But, now we do not speak English well. Why worry about Latin. Why be pretentious? Let us exult in our own glories of the Mahawamsa and choose an new motto for our government school.

You are obviously not a Royalist to know much about their motto. I have not learnt Latin & not a Royalist either but to my knowledge, it means ‘learn or depart’ in English. So from what you are saying, are you lot in Parliament still in a learning curve & you are asking RK to leave so you all can learn (the art of corruption?) in peace?

I thought it was the educated who are expected to enter Parliament. Of course these days there are quite a few who have not seem to have even passed Grade 8, so I suppose there are quite a lot of you who have to learn more (about corruption?) without being side tracked by scandals but you can learn a lot from RK, Aloysius, Mahendran & Co.

So let me get this straight. Are you telling RK to learn or depart but if it’s just depart, you don’t seem to have any understanding of either English or Latin. Take tip, Dayasiri, stick to a language you know without trying to impress us with your extensive vocabulary & learning because you may as well depart as your level of education is not that high either.

Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera must move a motion that RK be granted leave of absence and that investigation of the allegation against RK be fast-tracked.

These bastards are all complicit although they choose to point fingers at each other for public consumption. Imagine Rajapakses billions of dollars in Dubai that were managed by Arjun Mahendran and then he was “investigating” them when clear evidence was there to prosecute the family for high treason in robbing public funds like that. China should be taken as an example for punishing in cases of crimes against the people. Then, perhaps the whole lot of them would be gone and the country should be able to breathe freely again..

We have learned that when a person’s head becomes larger and larger, it is a dangerous thing for him as the head might break into pieces if fallen down.
