Colombo Telegraph is in possession of video evidence to the effect that a Buddhist monk has demanded that a Muslim trader pack up and leave a local fair.
The monk is heard to say that Sinhala traders are not allowed to do business in Welimada where the majority of traders are Muslims and therefore Muslims would not be welcome at this fair either. ‘Leave right now or else we will throw you out.’

Where are the laws of the land and the neutral action of the Police when rogue Buddhist priest like this man threaten, with death, poor innocent petty traders? Our Muslim people have the same rights as anybody else here and they are entitled to the full protection of our so-called laws and of the Lankan State. I have personally witnessed two senior executives – Yshan Fernando and Avi De Silva – abuse Tamils and Muslims in filth and humiliate them, thereby evicting them from the auctions.

This monk is a teenager, like many teenagers who dons the saffron saree and speak racism contrary to the true philosophy of Gautama Buddha.
