Dear Sir,

I refer to the following article posted by Colombo Telegraph:

“Promises Made Without Reference To Law Or Good Governance Principles”

In the latter part of this statement by Rajiva Wijesinha, he has said;

“With regard to other appointments, it is the Council that must decide. I found that there was no system about appointing Councils. Wickrema Weerasooria told me in 2002 that they consulted the Vice-Chancellors, which is preposterous since the Council is supposed to monitor the work of the Vice-Chancellor. He told me there was no other system possible since the UGC did not know people in the Provinces, which again is careless. This has also led to unwarranted interference by politicians.”

I deny what Rajiva Wijesinha has attributed to me in the above paragraph and I would be grateful if you carry this denial.

Best regards

Dr. Wickrema Weerasooria
Presidential Advisor

    Yes we know that Rajiva is a [Edited out] who only wants to hold a ministerial post and nothing less.

    Dr Weerasooria has just found out something that many of us have been aware of for sometime; that the creative Rajiva is a past master at the dark art of inventing something out of nothing. This technique was perfected in the days when he wrote ‘fiction’. Of course, he has no equal when it comes to twisting the truth (to suit whatever his current paymaster desires).

      Time was in the Ministry of Finance when he ordered type-writers and things to be ordered from a company he was connected to and got angry when asked for the order in writing.

    Dual citizenship was first introduced in Sri Lanka by the then UNP government to grant this facility to Wickrama Weerasooriya who is the BIL of Gamini Dissanayake who amassed wealth through Mahaweli. These guys are still trying to suck the blood of the poor Sri Lankans by accepting Advisory positions of this puppet president who is dancing to the tune of the UNP leader Ranil.

    Regret very much to note that around 75% the posts here and elsewhare on this website are personal attacks on the author of the documents…and not the contents.Very sad.

    Dr Wickremasooria has his own family wealth. In actually fact that family owns a fair part of property in Kotte and he is a shareholder of Finco Group of Companies. So its best if some people find out facts before commenting.

      Owning property and being a shareholder of Finco group will not be necessary and sufficient evidence to show their integrity. When one hears the truth it really hearts. It is a fact that his appointment as an adviser at this old age is just political. Why can’t these oldies like this guy and john Amarathunga who is even unable to speak properly give those opportunities to young blood by refusing to accept these appointments.
