Which is more important – “national security” or “the need to know” is the question.
In sri lanka,’national security’ is the excuse for ‘covering up’ atrocities.
It is also the excuse for militarisation of the northeast,and now,the south – to stiffle dissent.
The CHOGM is expected to ignore this.

The Guardian is defending the citizen whilst the Daily Mail is doing so for the State. When the State is no longer a defender of the citizen and has scant respect for his views,it’s legitimacy ceases. The citizen always comes first. The Guardian is therefore right and the Daily Mail must eat it’s own words.
