Election-Night Coup Allegations Baseless: Gota

Gotabaya Rajapaksa has described the statements made on the election night coup that was being planned by the Rajapaksas on the brink of their defeat, as ‘false and baseless’.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa

Gotabaya Rajapaksa

The former Secretary to the Ministry of Defence has denied the formulation of a plan to subvert the democratic process and the election outcome using the military and his involvement in any such attempt, while stating that the allegations are simply being made to discredit his brother Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He has gone on to state it is a result of a political witch-hunt, because the former President’s early departure from Temple Trees even before the release of election results concluded, has made it evident that no such attempt to tamper with the election results was being planned.

Gotabaya had made these remarks to Daily Mirror today while also stating that there was no possibility of such a ‘secret’ discussion to take place that night since the Temple Trees premises was flooded with supporters of MR.

He had however admitted that the Attorney General and the three service commanders were summoned to Temple Trees but had stated that it was to discuss the security arrangements with concern to maintaining law and order as they were concerned of certain statements made by the then Opposition that had claimed that Temple Trees would be surrounded.

Current Crop of Military Commanders are well aware ,what their fellow Officers and members went through when they were under PM Ranil, last time.

Pro UNP dirty Police raided the Intelligence Unit and handed over the brave Intelligence Officers to to the marauding Tigers to please Prabakaran.

Military Commanders, under Gotabaya Rajapaksa have become a united unit, who now can protect themselves well, even if Ranil resurrects his old Police mates to do the same dirty work like Athurugiriya Job, which the UNP ASP from Kandy did.

Sumane, you will continue imagining crap until you find your Dravidian father Sumanasekaram who bastardized you and made you a Sinhalese. How innovative of you not to notice how the soldiers sold vegetables at one time? Remember how they sweep public roads around independent square? Did you notice them repairing public buildings around the country? Have you seen the Mount Lavinia police sweeping the premises of Carlton Montessori in Mount Lavinia and even wiping the chairs, toilets in the evening to have it ready for the children next day. Oh bastardised Sumane, conveniently those are not pakkali work for the Maharaja and his queen done by no other than the armed forces of the country. BTW do you wash you back after shitting?

Million dollar question is did MR family mistook the AG’s views? When all the other bigwigs were in collaboration with the outgoing regime,s evil plans where as the AG stood his grounds and seeked others advice on the matter over the phone. It was his word against the others .Good on his quick mind instead of joining in the coup he had exposed them. That’s what happened and their plans were destroyed. Now all the hard core is spinning as much they can.
Hope the law will catch up and find the truth. I feel the AG’s mouth can be made shut by the Mafia and the responsibility of the new government is to protect him from EVILS. JAYAWEWA.

It seems that coup story is falsehood. If the reader who did not bow down to international pressure at the latter part of war against terrorism would not call the heads of state to hatch a coup, instead he would shut down temple trees for anybody and grab the power. This story is to belittle his greatness in handing over the power. True Sri LANKAN know the truth. That is why they gathered around their leader after his defeat. People will realise the mistake of defeating the Pure Sri Lankan leader.

Gota’s story reminds us of the alleged Coup story they cooked up after the 2010 election that SF was harbouring 400 Army deserters at Cinammon Lake Hotel to attack sensitive positions. People will recall that it was based on this coup talk that they declared a curfew and what happened to the infamous Elections Commissioner is now a forgotten story.
Let us hear what the AG, IGP and the service Commanders have to say re the Jan 8th night. AND ALSO OF COURSE MR MOHAN P !!!! WHAT WAS HE DOING??

If after all that the country witnessed under the Rajapakses, the rampant corruption, nepotism, wheeler dealing, murder, browbeating and harassing the media, basking in nauseatingly luxurious opulence while the poor suffered every known misery, their sons running around like crazed scoundrels in their lamborghinis and Air Force helicopters while the poor could ill afford the bus tickets in CTB boneshakers, millions being channeled into private companies, lawbreakers and underworld thugs running haywire under state patronage, white van culture and a million other ills, if after all this, there are people who sing hosannahs to MR and call him a ‘pure sri lankan leader’. I guess there’s little hope for this land. The people ultimately get what they deserve and this kind of menial, grovelling mentality will only drag sri lanka further down the road to disaster. The people need to stand up for what is right, not grovel with mindless devotion. If the new government go on the wrong path, the people need to send them home when the time comes. Enough of this slavish loyalty which blinds us to everything our leaders do. Yes, MR rid the country of the LTTE and the people showed him their gratitude but one cannot ignore all the wrongs that were committed by this government over the years.
Whether we generally vote UNP, SLFP, JVP or whathaveyou, let’s not blindly support everything they do. We need to rise above politics and hold our leaders accountable.

“Sinhalese Buddhist Gotabaya is like an animal.”

nothing wrong with that interview. After all it is called “hard talk” and do you expect gota to talk softly. He was quite frank i thought and the interviewer was i could see astonished too.The interviewer who seemed to be a very intelligent man definitely with a higher IQ than gota asked a very pertinent question on what type of country you would like to live in and gota made out that something was wrong in the question. In january 8th 2015 he found out the answer when people said they were uncomfortable that they were living in a country that does not respect individual rights.Gota should have changed course after thinking carefully of that far sighted question by an intelligent man.

Don’t forget the poor patients dying who can’t buy a kidney nor can pay for their kidney dialysis. There is a national shortage of kidney dialysis machines . Did the last government address ?? No. The poor don’t speak for themselves but wait and wait until they die while the princelings and the well connected racing along in sports cars and Lamborginies. Those traitors of the SrIlankans should be punished without doubt.
Next visit to the Hague certainly while kicking and screaming.

“The temple trees was flooded with MR supporters”…..that IS the key point Mr. GOAT…a. You were hoping that in the presence of your personal army of stooges. that the AGA would be forced to comply with your illegal, POLPOT like maneuvers. I hope you get what you deserve for embezzling the public trust and the public money. You and your family have become a disgrace t to he country with your insane greed for power and money. What your gang has done is like saving a drowning woman and then raxxing her over and over again and claiming that you are doing the right thing. I hope the truth will surface in due time.

A Psychologist knows criminals leave a few signs without their knowledge that would implicate them and a few deliberately to misguide and hamper the investigations. His going on about the early exit by MR from Temple Tree is because he doubt if people get that message clear- that is how exactly they wanted the people to believe, when this move was made.

If as he says flood of people were in there, why do they need this macho man Ranil to provide body guard for his brother. If MR is live was in risk at the hands of UNP supporters, what about the four commanders who were inside the Temple tree. was their lives were also at risk?. Is not it utter stupidity to place HE’s (he was then)safety at the hands of a man in Ranil. Isn’t it an insult on our forces?. Or, in other words, does it imply, at that point, Gotta lost the trust of the forces?. Who is fearing whom?. Unless you did something wrong, why do you fear dear?. You folks imagined that Ranil had been getting all what was going on and you trying to do in real time, and when your plan didn’t succeeded, the first thing you want to do was trying to appease him. Moreover, rather than butt out from Temple Tree, what else HE could have possibly done, when commanders refused to execute order unless its legality proven to be impeccable, and when AG and SC say it wasn’t. The analogy is like this, when a body guard refuses to take the order of the person who he protects, the person being protected would be the first to know his time is up with the guard and to look for alternatives. When commanders didn’t want to oblige to orders from HE and asking for a written document which is legal, HE knew that not only the opposition won the election but has also put a bung for this sort of eventualities, then on wards it becomes untenable for the HE to be in their protection any longer. Knowing results releasing was being held up, HE knew the situation would flare up any moment, if mopping up being delayed. If happened, he has no one to go to, other than his cohorts. Under the circumstances, his decision was no brainer, help avert perhaps people lives being lost.

Whichever way looked at, it is very plausible that attempts being made to declare emergency, from there onwards how things to follow was not sure. Maybe depends on people’s agitation and results of subsequent spins and stories that MR’s Govt expected to put out.

The imposition of a curfew is often the pre cursor to a coup as it would keep the public off the streets. It was necessary to obtain the green light for its declaration, which would have been a State of Emergency. This would have given the legal cover for the execution of an illegal act. It was the prevailing State of Emergency at the time, that enabled the ‘legal’ deployment of troops in the 1962 Coup. It was the fact that the AG did not give his OK, that prevented any further action. It was quite clear that had there been any apprehension of trouble, the EC would have asked the IGP for assistance. Gotabhaya Rajapakse did not visit the Elections Office that night – confirmed by the EC, but he did go to the DSS counting centre at about 1.30 am. Of course when it was realised that the game was up, they made a virtue of necessity and quit early, and in a hurry, leaving behind stacks of cash and a poor canine! Mohan Peirs was there not only to give ‘legal advice’ on illegality but also to intimidate the AG with his presence!!Definitely no smoke without fire!!
