End Of The Road For Yoshitha Rajapaksa?

Things are appearing more bleaker for Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who also runs the risk of being court martialled for acting in contravention to the military law, by holding office as Chairman of the privately owned Carlton Sports Network (CSN), which is an offence to his current military standing as a Navy Lieutenant.

Yoshitha RAccording to Police Media Spokesperson, ASP Ruwan Gunasekara after scrutinizing the email communications between Yoshitha Rajapaksa and others, it was apparent that Yoshitha was both the chairman as well as the decision maker of CSN.

Meanwhile in a detailed statement, ASP Gunasekara said that several charges were made against Yoshitha, Rohan Weliwita, Nishantha Ranatunga and several others, who are in remand prison at the moment. Among the charges are; misappropriation of funds, misuse of state resources.

According to the statement, ASP Gunasekara said that while the channel had an initial capital of Rs. 7 million, there were questions as to how the management of the company found a total Rs. 234 million as an investment for the channel, which appeared to have come from overseas without following proper procedures, and with the management not able to provide the source of the funding, investigators came to the conclusion that they were involved in money laundering.

ASP Gunasekara also said that during the questioning, it did not appear that the suspects were innocent, based on their responses, hence they were arrested and then produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate.

Further investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether the management of CSN has committed other crimes, in relation to documentation, violating customs ordinance, the company’s act, among many others.

But they are not going to give him Nibbana for that.

What about Thajudeen and any others who attained Nibbana?

RE: End Of The Road For Yoshitha Rajapaksa?

Like Father like Son. Like MaRa Like Mara Son.

Yoshitha Rajapakse, Nishantha Ranatunge, Rohan Welivita of CSN are the record breaking culprits in SL’s biggest ever fraud investigation ! Why they were put behind bars?

Through the Grape Vine, Bulath Vine and Vettila Vine News: It is very unfortunate the unscrupulous media coolies of Sri Lanka in keeping with their sordid traits tried to paint a picture that the arrest and remanding of the five high ranking officers of the CSN channel including Yoshitha Rajapakse (son of Mahinda Rajapakse) ,Nishantha Ranatunge (younger brother of Arjuna Ranatunge ) and Rohan Welivita are the consequence of political vendetta .

One of those stinking media coolies who was there without bathing holding the mike for Mahinda Rajapakse did not have the guts to question ‘Didn’t your son go to jail because of daylight robbery of public funds?’ and ‘why did you allow your son to rob and you remained an idle spectator ?’ . The stinking media coolies were also unable to ask from Arjuna who parades as a paragon of virtue criticising all and sundry pointing out the frauds of all others across the country while his brothers were most corrupt ,why Arjuna could not notice the robberies of his own younger brother committed under his very nose? and, is it because his eyes were blurred by the exudation from his eyes due to eye gland infection?

These unscrupulous media coolies who would sell even their souls for a mess of potage notwithstanding , let us emphatically state , it is the responsibility of the true media to expose the truth pertaining to the criminal incriminations of these culprits , Yoshitha Rajapakse , Nishantha Ranatunge, Rohan Welivita, J.T.S Fernando and Kaveeshan Dissanayake of the CSN , and why they had to be put behind bars.

According to reports reaching Vine news , this investigation launched into the frauds at the CSN channel is the biggest ever in Sri Lanka ‘s history. The magnitude of the fraud is so huge , it is still not fully unraveled , but based on information surfacing so far , it is in the region of about Rs. 520 million ! though the actual figures are still being probed. This fraud is so extraordinary and astounding , because of the scheming moralities adopted much more than the amount of money involved.

In any Establishment when there is a fraud , it is only a section of that establishment or some group that is involved, but in the CSN , the entire establishment had been involved with the participation and collusion of all in general. In other words this Institution has been established with the sole primary aim and objective to commit frauds. From the very beginning –that is ,from the time of registration including the auditing and audit reports, the operations have been fraudulent .

The CSN does not have a permanent chairman. This is because its chief is Yoshitha Rajapakse and being an officer in the Navy he cannot legally hold that post in a private establishment .Therefore that aspect was kept hidden. Though Yoshitha was not the chairman overtly , he had signed all important documents. Hence , those actions of his alone are enough to dismiss him from the Navy. When any Institution is launched , an initial outlay is necessary. How is it provided and by whom ? must be clearly made known .

However pertaining to CSN , although a sum Rs. 90 million is its initial outlay, it is not mentoned who invested that Rs. 90 million or from which source it came. The worst part ? though the chiefs of the CSN were interrogated for the last several months in this regard , none could give an answer. That means this amount of Rs. 90 million is ‘black’ money out and out .The next question is , to whom does this money belong?

In addition , a further sum of Rs. 169 million had been remitted to this company from Singapore.Even the remitter of this sum is not recorded anywhere .The details and documents furnished in Singapore in this connection are also spurious, and nobody knows who remitted. Interrogation for two months was unavailing as none of the culprits were giving answers during the interrogations.

These ‘black’ monies have come to this Co. not from Singapore alone. From these transactions it is clear CSN was utilized for the money laundering activities of Rajapakses.

Money laundering is a most grave and heinous offence under the law. Those incriminated in money laundering cannot be ganted bail by the Magistrate court , as the latter has no powers to grant bail. Bail can be sought only through the high court . Therefore after Yoshitha and group were produced before the Kaduwala Magistrate court yesterday (30) they were remanded until the 11 th of February .

We have in our aforenoted report only revealed just a part of the massive fraud at the CSN based on what have been hitherto uncovered . A detailed report of the colossal misuse of state property and funds will be brought to you shortly.

“how the management of the company found a total Rs. 234 million as an investment for the channel”

WOW… Why did they need money? They ‘took’ stuff from Rupavahini, right? Did they show some cost for those things and put the money n their pockets?

“risk of being court martialled for acting in contravention to the military law”

Ha! Would Navy follow the procedures? When was the last time a Navy person was punished for violation of Navy’s operating rules?

So long senior politicians name them as no serious crimes – the youth including his own sons would never learn it.

Regardless of the anything, former Prez should learn to differenciate things let alone today.

That can help him and nation further.
There are lots of other families that want to nurture their children well.
If only leaders show it exemplary, that can help others learn it from them.

Not only justice must seem to be done but must be done.

So let us wait and see where all this will end.

The day prior to the arrest of Yoshitha, his father the ex president and the current president were seen together, sitting side by side, in all seeming innocence, like errant children in front of a shangha sabha.

It is so easy to pull the wool over the Sri Lankan’s eyes. Only time will tell whether the arrest of Yoshitha is genuine or just hogwash.

The law must not sink to the level of respecter of persons. Enough has already been done to discredit our once sublime legal process. This business of influential people sent to remand manage ending in comfortable hospitals must stop. There cannot be a law for the rich and influential and another for the poor. Watching this patiently the JVP types are waiting to unleash another round of macabre justice – although her leaders are all now powerful billionaires and capitalist politicians.

If they are not guilty they have nothing to be afraid of. These people dealt with millions of dollars, which they did not have when the big man took over as President. It is important that the Sri Lankan people learn from where they had the millions to live a lavish lifestyle filled with luxury cars, designer brands, and many businesses, and why the abused their powers using resources belonging to the country.

If the investigations lead to arrests, prison, and our courts, so be it.

This was the one getting flying lessons from SLAF free of charge just because he was the some of President. The President was arranging all these, gross violation of the privileges of the office. Both of them should be arrested and charged along with the Commanders of the two arms of the service that were abusing their power and position.

@NV. No I don’t think so. War is war, it is not an activity of civilized people; if you don’t like blood don’t engage in it. I don’t think many Brits or allied political leaders were taken in front of an HR court after Dresden or any other major war crimes committed in the last 100 years. Keep things in the right proportion. Prabhakaran was hardly a hermit. Nor was Kuveni your ancestral grandmother from what we have read about her.

“I don’t think many Brits or allied political leaders were taken in front of an HR court after Dresden or any other major war crimes committed in the last 100 years.”

Its a matter for the Germans, Italians, ….. and other Europeans victims to deal with.

Therefore you cannot and should not hide yourself behind unaccounted atrocities of British and her allied forces.

The committing of war crimes did not start in 2009 nor did it end in 2009.

Unaddressed war crimes and crimes against humanity committed from 5th April 1971 continued until about a year ago.

Therefore all investigation should cover the period from 1971 to 2013.

” Prabhakaran was hardly a hermit.”

Nor were Rohana, Gota, Karuna, Douglas, Premadasa, JR, Sri Mao, ………………… another 300,000.

It is about truth, justice, reconciliation, forgiveness, the process to heal … closure and finally moving on.

If you are not for seeking truth then you should think twice before start typing your selective justice when Colombo Telegraph clearly state “In journalism truth is a process”.

According to the news reports, Yoshitha Raja didn’t even get through his mother language during his GCE O/L exams.

So Gota was right to call Yoshi a child even now as far as his maturity is concerned.

Don’t expect any of Raja family to understand the ethics or financial crimes committed on high interest rate loans taken on the name of Sri Lanka.

It would be interesting to know the identity of investors who were backing Yoshi Raja at CSN.

I feel so sorry for Yoshita baba. He is a victim – of this father, Mahinda Jarapassa who is Sri Lanka’s KING OF CORRUPTION.

Mahinda Rajapaksa is directly responsible for his son’s arrest. MR is crying now because of his GUILT.

MR set the BAD EXAMPLE of CORRUPTION and GREED and taught his son to think that he is ABOVE the Law of the Land.

Mahinda Jarapassa was a bad ROLE MODEL for Sri Lanka’s youth and younger generation and he spread the virus of corruption and nepotism to every corner of Lanka.
Like the son, the father too, and the rest of the Jarapassa family should be arrested and their bank accounts of 3 Billion USD ceased to pay of the National Debt.

Sri Lanka faces a looming Balance of Payment Crisis and currency crash that Sri Lanka faces as a result of the Jarapassa family and associated corrupt politicians and crooks looting the national wealth of Sri Lanka.

Arrest of Yoshita baba should be an example to all the corrupt politicians who give their children delusions that they can break the law with impunity because Daddy is a Politician.

Its not rocket science to fig out from which country the remittance came from..Police and ALL authorities should stop hiding info from the public..

Which country was the source of the “234 million which came to CSN as an investment for the channel, which appeared to have come from overseas”?

The public of Lanka needs to know which country was supporting the build up of the Rajapaksa Military Dictatorship and the Gotabaya Jarapassa DEEP STATE?

  • 6

I bet it was China that provided the 230 million to Joshita Carlton Sports Chanel! China has gave huge loans for Jarapassa family’s white elephant DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS like Hambantota port and airport, that is now causing a massive national debt, currency devaluation, and economic crash in Lanka.

The Sri Lanka public and civil society should hold a massive protest outside the Chinese Embassy to protest its support for the Mahinda Jarapassa dictatorship.

Now the Chinese want to create aoother Environmental and Financial Disaster in Lanka with the Port City, while the Mega Hot Air Clown, Pathala Champika Ranawaka talks non-sense about his Mega City Plans.
Colombo simply needs decent Public transport and good facilities like clean Restaurants, cafes and Toilets in train and bus stations.

The Chinese money, that Pathala Champika is desperate for his mega city is also to build up his run to be Sinhala Buddhist Emperor of Lanka – now that MR and his family failed!
Chinese funds are the source of the National Debt of Lanka which is causing the current financial crisis.

Rs 7 millions became 234 millions.

Under Mahinda Rajapakse rule anything was possible, BUT many of his hardcore supporters think it’s alright that is clear from what thy write in this forum. They do not care if Rajapaksas horde billions in foreign banks so long as racism, Sinha-Buddism and the military occupation and rule are kept alive.

It must be easier now to trace how and where this 234 millions came from. That money belongs to the citizens of Sri Lanka.

Remember Putha, once-upon-a-time they took me away too, for fighting for human rights. Can you believe it? True! I came back to be President and Liberator”

As a normal citizen from what I understand no government servant including those in the military and police are permitted to run a private business. Hence Yoshita Rajapaske had to face the sack from the navy.
Also the Sri Lanka Navy is at fault for doing nothing about during the time Mahinda Rajapakse was president and further doing nothing after he was defeated. In my opinion the navy commanders both present and past who turned a blind eye must also explain and face punishment.

Now the journos can interview MR and his culprit sons as to why they
    behaved above the law ?

Gota – has to read more to make him knowledgble about politics if he calls the today situation as tyranny and the situation prior to 8th Jan 2015 as more democratic

Gota/MR supporters – should see it right at least today – how were they acting under the over executive behaviours of Rajapakshes ? Street boys such Jonsten Fernando would even spice the extrements of Rajapakshe for their survivial – but only a tiny minority will have to back Rajano if all is prima facie proofs in terms of Murder, Rape, Money laundring.. would finally be clear to the many

MR can recite his malicious thouhts by going to Temples, but sooner it will also be impossible if Mahanayake would not agree him abusing temple for his political talks anymore.
