The Nandadasa Kodagoda Memorial Trust has organised the 16th Prof. Nandadasa Kodagoda Memorial Oration on Friday the 2nd of August 2013 at 5.30 p.m. at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo 7.
Sri Lanka’s former Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva and Sri Lanka’s former Ambassador to France and to UNESCO Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka will speak on “Sri Lanka and the World: Contemporary Challenges”.
This year’s lecture will be delivered in Sinhala.

Its not worth wasting time on such asses.
The need of the hour is reconcilliation as the unitary character will not change and for the tamils to work out a system of administration in the North within a united country.This type of men only take that distant dream away making the lives of the tamils in Sri Lanka miserable while they lead a good life.

Why to look down upon in that way… ? but to each his own!
It is how they feel about the religion. Capacities are not the same even if one is said to have studied Universities degrees. I have met muslim medical and science graduates that bring all arguments to support their blind views about eating pork. So are some buddhists; they would just stay believing any kind of jathaka kathas; ask how many among them realize the substance of the stories. None have learnt any lesions from them either. If yes, our society should be far from crime friendly to this date – is not that so?

This man Kodagoda preached abstinence of alcohol and smoking to all for a healthy long life. Strangely the drunkard chimneys are still puffing, while the preacher has gone. There are many who live a moderate life enjoying life with these little vices in good health close to a good innings while others have long gone.

I like Prof. NK then very much, after all, listening to his good lectures telecasted on the national TV decades ago. I know he was an old mahindian. For his own reasons, he could have had problems with alcohol (nobody is perfect), but all I know is – he is one of the uniquely talented uni lecturers that SRILANKA ever produced. I have no idea about any replace since he is no more there :(
