Expose: Avant Garde Repatriation Mafia Revealed As Nandasena Allows Buddy To Rake In Big Bucks

Colombo Telegraph is now in possession of proof positive that President Nandasena Gotabaya Rajapaksa has authorized his close buddy and criminal accused by the Attorney General of Sri Lanka to monetize the process that allows desperate Sri Lankans to return home during a raging pandemic.

Former Army Major Nissanka Senadhipathi, gun-runner, weapons smuggler and once fugitive from justice in Sri Lanka has won exclusive rights to organize air tickets and quarantine accommodation for Sri Lankans seeking repatriation.

Avant Garde boss Nissanka Senadhipathi with then Defence Secretary Gotabaya

Senadhipathi is on trial in the High Court under the firearms ordinance for illegally leasing Sri Lankan Government licensed weapons on the high seas through his Avant Garde Maritime Services. Now that same company is the government-authorised agent for repatriation of overseas Sri Lankans.

Sri Lanka’s embassies overseas directing citizens trapped in other countries to wire funds directly to Avant Garde Maritime Services Pvt Ltd at Commercial Bank in order to be eligible to travel on pre-organized flights usually operated by national carrier SriLankan Airlines. Colombo Telegraph has these emails in possession and will expose the contents to our readers.

While the country has declared itself open to tourists since January 21st, Sri Lankan citizens desiring to return home continue to be compelled to register with embassies overseas and wait months for a designated flight but only after paying exorbitant fees to a private company that has direct patronage from the Government of Sri Lanka the email trail reveals.

The whole mafia was exposed by Father Tyrell Alles, a clergyman who returned to Sri Lanka from serving in Indiana USA for many years in the Daily Mirror newspaper on February 4, 2021.

Colombo Telegraph previously reported how Senadhipathi’s Avant Garde had forced the newspaper to take down a web version of the article.

The official that threatened the newspaper’s editor subsequently release audio of his conversation with Daily Mirror Editor Kesara Abeywardena. The tape reveals the Avant Garde official speaking to the Editor in threatening tones. A second audio clip reveals a second phone call in which the Daily Mirror admits the newspaper made an “inadvertent mistake” by publishing Father Alles’ article. The audio reveals a craven Abeywardane urging the company official to “explain to Mr Senadhipathi”.

Listen to full audio below:

The article that featured the recording of the call with the Daily Mirror editor which appeared on a news website in Sri Lanka also said Avant Garde was going to pursue legal action against the Colombo Telegraph, for the decision to reproduce in full Father Alles’ article which was removed from the DM website. The Avant Garde “spokesman” told the website that “Uvindu Kurukulasuriya of ‘Colombo Telegraph’ had alleged that the article had been scrapped after ‘Avant Garde Maritime Services’ had given money to the newspaper to do so.”

At no point in the report published in Colombo Telegraph did this website allege that Senadhipathi’s company had paid money to pull Father Alles’ article off its website.

It is well known in Sri Lankan media circles that Nissanka Senadhipathi has a terrifying record of intimidating witnesses and the media, buying out entire websites in order to stop unfavourable coverage.

The emails received by Colombo Telegraph now reveals that Father Alles’ account of his repatriation saga was entirely accurate and Avant Garde was controversially overseeing and profiting from a repatriation project that has been the subject of ire for many Lankans returning from overseas.

However Daily Mirror not only removed the article from its website, it also published Avant Garde’s response the following week with the “same prominence” Father Alles’ article received, as Abeywardena promised the official from Avant Garde.

The following email was sent from the Consulate of Sri Lanka in Melbourne Australia, to a Sri Lankan registered with the embassy for repatriation to Colombo.

Dear Sir/Madam

This is further to our email of yesterday.

Your special repatriation flight UL [redacted] now scheduled to depart Melbourne on 20th September at 1900 hours and arrive in Sri Lanka Mattala Airport at 0115 hrs on 21st September (local times indicated).

We have now been informed of the revised payment details. Accordingly, your flight arrangements including the ground arrangements (PCR tests on arrival, quarantine hotel accommodation and ground transportation) ar emade by the Avant Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd. Therefore the terms and conditions of your quarantine hotel package is determined by Avant Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd.

Please note that the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Canberra/Consulate general of Sri Lanka in Melbourne is only facilitating your repatriation through the above flight.

Please also note that you are required to first make the payment for the ground arrangements and submit the payment confirmation to the Sri Lankan airlines at the time of the issuance of the ticket.

You are not required to respond to this email

Kind regards

Consul,

Consulate General of Sri Lanka

1, Queens Road

Melbourne VIC 3004

A second email from avantmaritime.com sends Sri Lankans registered with the embassies for repatriation flights bank details for wire transfers and direct deposits.

The accounts for international wire transfers (USD) and direct deposits in Sri Lanka (LKR) are different. But details for both accounts are otherwise as follows:

Name of Bank: Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC

Bank Address 92, D.S. Senanayake Mawatha, Borella Sri Lanka

Account number (USD): [redacted] /Account number (LKR): [redacted]

Full name of beneficiary: Avant Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd.

Beneficiary address: 613, Bangalawa Junction, Kotte Sri Lanka

Legal experts said the scheme smacked of a Nandasena-style embezzlement not unlike the MiG deal in 2006. The President was allowing cronies and family members to profit from his control of the levers of government and probably making a big cut from those profits on the side, a legal professional said.

With journalists in Sri Lanka under increased threat and intimidation from the Nandasena Rajapaksa regime space is shrinking for exposes and investigations in the country about the corrupt activities of the President’s cronies. The government that promised “system change” is showing its hand day by day as those close to the President continue to rake in big profits while ordinary citizens are being crushed under mounting economic pressures worsened by the pandemic. Senadhipathi is only case in point.

We appeal to our readers and journalists and whistle-blowers in Sri Lanka to email information that the public need to know to the Colombo Telegraph investigations desk. The information will be covered by the strictest rules of confidentiality for source material. Please email colombotelegraph@gmail.com

What can Sri lankans say about this. 69 million people are authorised to do such crimes by criminals while poor man like Sirisena to face the suffering for be part of that regime. Nandasena also a buddhist, Srisena also a Buddhist. Even the terrorist criminal Karuna is now greater gentleman than former President Sirisena in Buddhist Sinhala country.

There once was a thug named Elle Gunawansa who in July 1983 roamed about Colombo with a pistol in his hip to whom racism, nastiness and cruelty toward minorities is second nature. This douchbag wears a robe and calls himself a preist of a religion that definitely does not support his ideology. However, prior to departing to Geneva the Foreighn minister goes to pay homage and receive blessings from this scoundrel. There are few other such thugs worth mentioning all wearing robes and claiming to the be priests of said religion without any push back or condemnation. Nasty racist thugs all of them. Bengamuwe Nalaka, Ampitiye Sumanarathana, Gandhassara etc.

      Ajith,
Sinhale is a Sinhala Buddhist country and Sinhalayo are proud to be citizens of that country. Tamils and Muslims live in this country because kind hearted Sinhala Buddhists gave them asylum in their country when they faced a desperate situation. Except in situations where the descendants of those who sought asylum in their country became a threat to them, Sinhala Buddhists never harmed Tamils or Muslims. Sinhala Buddhists never resorted to terrorism. Taking action by the Government against separatists and extremists who used violence against civilians is not ‘State Terrorism’.

In the 1930s Sinhalayo attacked Muslims burned their shops and engaged in violence aimed atr Muslims. Now did the Muslims do anything to provoke them? No Ceylon was a British colony back then. Then came D.S. who removed citizenship of the estate Tamils forced labourers imported from India they maybe but what did they do to deserve their fate? Work tirelessly in pathetic conditions to sustain our economy in exchange they got what? Banda signed the Chelva pact and again it happened riots broke out this time against Tamils. Chelva demanded this because of what? Sinhela only. Othewise there was no need for it. From that time every single time this issue came up riots broke out. Always the victims were the minorities until the infamous July 1983 riots. Who are the northern Tamils by the way? Refugees eh? Do refugees form their own kingdoms? Kingdoms that existed for thousands of years?

          @Thiha,
          What a load of crap.
From the period onwards and everything you have written are nothing but cock and bull.

The 1st racial riot that ever happened in Sri Lanka was in 1915 , there were no.issues with
Indigenous CEYLON Muslims ever before the coming of British.

Along with British came THE South Indian Muslims, they settled mostly Gampola, galaha, deltota, madewela and other areas in upcountry and in smaller numbers in other parts of the Island.
They obstructed a Buddhist religious procession from passing a Mosque, which was never done by Indegenous Muslims before that, riots broke out as a result and mostly the indigenous Muslims paid the price for the stupidity of The new immigrant Muslims.
No offence meant to anyone , just
Clearing the fake information by being candid.

The same fate is being prepared by Indian decent Muslims who have brought their new extreme ideological Islam creeds from India and regretfully the indigenous Muslims have let them be taken for a ride , and also they have successfully wiped out the identity of the indigenous Muslims with the terminology Sri Lanka Muslims.
=The rest of The story of estate Tamils; your version is totally warped.
There were quite a number of Sinhalese working for British Raj all over Asia , which included mainly India and Burma.

You should add what the SB armed forces resorted to in the same period.
The JVP could not kill many in 1971, but that was perhaps because they did not have the chance. But anywhere between 5000 and 15000 suspected JVPers were killed.
The JVP was bad in 88-89. But the government used absolute terror tactics in response.

Sinhale was never a Buddhist country. The so called Sinhale was called Eelam where Tamils were in occupation for thousand and thousands of years. The Tamils, unlike the Sinhalese never prevented other nationalities coming into Eelam, but unfortunately it was to their detriment as realized now. The great Tamil poet, Barathithasan stated thus” Veru oruvan nulaiyathu veli ittu Thamil nattan valthathillai’ meaning the Tamilians never fenced (barricaded) their country to prevent others coming into occupation as friends .More so, Hindus never hated the Buddhists. But today, the Tamil are suffering because of their magnanimity. Pity.

Despite my regard for Bharathidasan, I would also say that he had irrational racist streaks in him. Have you not come across any of his anti-Malayali rants?
He was progressive in many ways, but obsession with Tamil and Tamil identity overcame his rationalism.
As much as Tamils not barricading other people, will not it be correct to say that Tamils have not been barricaded by others either, until in recent times of illegal immigration.
          *
Did Hindu zealots not hate Buddhists?
What did Sampanthar and Manikkavasagar do? What was Adi Shankara’s mission about?
Buddhism grew strongly in India well into the Christian era. But was suppressed like Jainism by 10th Century.

Every poet, every politician, every writer has a a racist streak in him. My reference to barricading refers to the Sinhalese in particular who are not only barricading but penetrating the Tamil areas with governments Assistance including the Hindu areas. My comment is about Eagle Eye’s comment about Sinhale. Incidentally, Barathy Thasan never practiced/ supported Hinduism.

It is all about commissions and who gets it. Nandasena has allowed his golayas to profit from people’s pain and suffering, and Nandasena is allowing them to profit from a pandemic. The minority had to pay to get their loved ones cremated, or buried quickly, and it is unfortunate it has become a money making machine, for greedy Rajapaksa sharks.

Forcing Tamils to pay Avant Guarde is the ultimate insult. This pirate company was involved in supplying guns to various pro-government parties that killed Tamils during the war. How can Tamils finance such a company?

I’m shocked why Tamils and Muslims still want to be part of Sri Lanka. A totally failed country.

Only solution is to equitably split the island into 3 nations. Sinhala Only Nation, Tamil Elam and Muslim-stan.

Until then the rulers will keep throwing insults at minorities.

We all knew this is happening, but unfortunately those who were desperate to get back to the country became suckers. Unfortunately our Judicial system is so corrupt that these cases even if they are filed will not be successful. Classic examples Senadipathi who has cases pending in the courts is given the contract to bring people home, similarly Mahinda Rajapakse’s cousin who stole money buying a building and who was involved in MIG corruption is today given the contract to bring tourists. Where is this country heading? Where are the Buddhist Monks and Cardinal on this topic?

Now with even some portions turning their posterior to Rajapakshes, they are totally scared of the topple of the current govt. Let s be honest to us, not being biased to anyone. I dont work for any political parties. My thoughts are added below.

To my knowledge, as one travels back home 2-3 year they was a GOOD governance thanks to some good actions taken by previous govt.

          1)
Thajudeen s murder and other murders came to light revealing Shirathi too was hugely complicit in that brutal/Jamal Khoshogi style misterioius murder. Not just murdered brutally but body parts were hidden in SAITEM labs remember ? These are pietyless. I wish the same tooccure with MAHINDA Rajakshe, if karmic retribution would be a real definition to this world. I know how mothers across country went mad, psycho sick on long term no tbeing able to see their sons had been burnt down on tyre pyres in late 80ties, by that JVP/UNP insurgency period.
          :
The very same manner, Thajudeen or the like to end up in that way is no means acceptable also in Hitler led Germany.
          .
2)For good reasons, GG rule was well capable of convincing UNHRC and other bodies that an independent commission would have to go for war crimes – there we agree with them, because that is the only wayout… unedcuated Rajakshes would not even get close to convince anyone but perhaps Belarusians, Swaziland people or the like cornerer nation.

The Yahapalana government did not do anything constructive, they were a disaster.
Our constitution is not competable for any form of an alliance governance to be honest.
Be it national government by merging two or an alliance of multiple parties under one umbrella of some main party , we have seen the failure of such unholy alliance’s end results, being a multicultural and multi religious country , to have a government representing only the majority of the land or having a large chunk of the seats in parliament with a fragile opposition represented either by a few different parties or purely by only the minorities are all disastrous.
We have not learned our lessons yet from 1977 government change to the alliance of late .Madam Sirimavo’s to the Alliance, to Madam Chandrikas and also to current .PM, when he was President.

                  @leelagamalli @Yahapalana.
                  The Yahapalana government was
disgustingly corrupt at every level , top to very low level .
Yes there was a total sense of freedom , especially with the social media , it was not wise at all , Official medias can be given any amount of freedom, they are always accountable.
But it was total insanity to give so much of freedom and to salute a kid who had hacked the president’s account, stupid I say , Social media was the reason for the riots during Yahapalana, they just let it go on for days exactly like what JR did, the damage was to much, and ordinary young guys had taken over the country and with our powerful armed forces who wiped out a one-time most feared terror outfit, was not given orders to end the riots , only after the loss of lives and properties, that the order was given and I was told Our Navy did a fantastic job bringing law and order as soon as they were given the authority.
The worst was the freedom of whatsapp and so it is today too .
A very dangerous tool to be given to a unmatured society, that does not bother to check the forwards athauncity before believing it and forwarding to others, it is also gives to much freedom to spread false rumours, hate , racism , bigotry and freedom to criminals of all levels.

To my knowledge Yahalpalana govt did lot more good compare to MEDAMULANA Nandasena s current govt……..

should not mean necessarily I should be a supporter of Yahapalanaya destructed by Sorysena et al

Looking back, why should every second of 69 lacks of srilankens to turn back as of today?

You dont need to add any further lengthy comments but please list one good achievement of the current govt. True people voter for Nandasena, who was known to be a high criminal. Now with every second of 69 lacks of voters coming to their sense, you guys have to see the reality in the days to come. I dont think those voters were fools, but they were made eternal fools for their comeback.

If you would succeed listing us what their hitherto achievements, we would definitely have to agree with you. To my eye, Nandasena is thousand times stupid compared to Polonnaruwe man. This will become the fact to all in the days to come. Wait and see !!

                Dear LM,
                .
                Although
I certainly agree with you that the Yahapalana government was less dangerous than what we now have, I couldn’t care a fig for what has happened to them. They proved themselves weak and ineffective and so got thrown out.
                .
It may be that some of these guys arouse certain emotions within one’s bosom; I disregard such as irrelevant. They represented us. We are the masters, they are our servants. If politicians don’t satisfy us, we throw them out. However, let me acknowledge one thing. Right now Gota and Mahinda wield a lot of power, and I do fear them.
                .
                Please study this article carefully:

The net result of what these criminals are doing is that we all get out gooses cooked. We don’t want that. I’m not particularly bothered about what happens to those guys. I’m concerned about our collective suffering – and how to lessen that. Put like that, even Netizen may agree.

@LANKA NETIZEN – So you are saying the only trust worthy (did you forget to mention partner in crime) men & women are in military and not the ordinary public.. What a shame to Sri Lankan isn’t it? In between Easter attack is faux pas. It is mainly because of tussle between the former president who is the command for all 3 forces, government and the ex-presidents behind the scene relationship with MR is the reasons. That’s why the present government not able to publish the real mastermind behind the whole episode.

        Dayan,
I agree with LANKA NETIZEN. At this moment, for a large majority of Sinhala people the only trust worthy men and women are in military. Sinhalayo elected Gotabhaya Rajapakshe as President because he is a military man, not a politician.

We the public have a huge reasoning problem. Its not our fault , but it can be undone if we bother to sit and analysise without prejudice.
We have been programmed beginning from our homes , schools and our communities, the ones whose mental attitude can not be changed to progressive thinking are those who feel comfortable remaining within their own tribe with the deeply engrained prejudice.
The programming of one’s Religous dogmas that are severely indoctrinated gives a sense of selfrighrightousness and various and Beliefs to justify judging , condemning, even destroying the lives of others as a Religous duty .( eg:by terrorists, Religous extremist bigots , racists ) all these are what people have been programmed with and not born with.

          =========================

We been told since very tender age, that all other races are all out to destroy you and wipe you out , always citing tyrant racists of past.
Then indoctrination of religous beliefs , telling us all other religions are false and erornous or devils advocates and only we are destined to paradise, while some religion based on rebirth belief indoctrinates us of rebirth of better creation and entitled for eventual enlightenment by not striving for it ..

Religions are totally different from rational philosophies, Faith &Spirituality, that encourages to question everything and everyone and independent reasoning until the truth is established and one accepts reality over myths.

There is a need to change our mental attitude that is not real but that we are programmed with.
We must be prepared to accept reality and cultivate enthusiasm unconditionally to adopt progressive thinking and embrassing total diversity,
We should stop being afraid of light and break free from the chains of lies and hate we are programmed with and not born with, if we care to see Sri Lanka as a 1st world nation.

Socialism also failed , communism also will fail, both are good on paper, so is total dictatorship or total military rule.
So what we need is a totally home grown constitution by taking examples from countries that has managed to emerge from conflicts like ours.

Today one of the best is Ruwanda.

Sri Lanka needs nannying for at least next 10 years minimum, if we really want to become a 1st world nation.

Which will need continued strict monitoring of all institutions and people , including Media , especially social media, protecting peoples freedom but supervised.

And all Religous organization that has a intollerent and extremist ideology must be banned , unless they are willing to amend it and they must all provide a detail information of their creeds ( ideology).

If LKY has decided to give into UN bullying and religious extremists intimidations , Singapore would have never been where she is today.

If any leader is to succeed in developing Sri Lanka and making it a first world nation,He or She must shun all emotions , and favouritism, let by Gones be by gone, and must mean business.

You need the Military involment with powers trimmed and accountable to the President.

What Imran Khan actually said was the exact opposite of your lies. Here is what he really said. “If you ask the military to go take over hell they will do it and return victorious. But if you ask them to run civilian institutions that will fail miserably since it is not in there training or temperament to do such work” Imran Khan’s visit was also aimed at putting pressure on this thuppahi government of robbers and murders to stop cremating Muslims who died of COVID by force. Sri lanka was the only country in the world to engage in this practice and was roundly condemned for its actions by the entire world. The PM of Pakistan arrived as the spokes men of the Muslim world to put a stop to this. That is the real story that people like you are deparetely trying to cover up.

In Sri Lanka, is there anything which is not a racket? For quite sometime this is the story. The racket starts with the Foreign Ministry requiring its permission for Sri Lankans to return to the country. The Secretary who now is an Admiral cum Professor should have the backbone to standup and say that it is illegal. By what right can an authority demand its permission for a citizen to return? HE and his Ministry should have nothing to do with it. Though the involvement of Senadhipathi is clear as per the documents shown by CT, he can make attractive offers to the returnees once they land in the country being one of the players, instead of being a monopolist. It would not be a surprise if Foreign Ministry officials too benefit in a big way arising out of this monopoly. Special repatriations be made available only to cases where people are destitute, as in the case of middle east house maids. One of the options could be a paid vaccination on the point of return thus eliminating the need for an expensive quarantine process, thus limiting the same for those who do not want it.

      Good Sense

Why do you think Gota and Mahinda spend so much time visiting Buddhists temples,?Some months 5 or 6 days a week?

What is the reason both of them spend more time at temples than at their desks?
Are they scared of their past Karma catching up them?

      • 0
        0

The Buddhist belief is that Karma will catch no matter how many times and the duration of each visit to the temple. The shady activity quarantine profiteering propped up by officials of a very prestigious ministry completely disregarding the law in requiring citizens to seek special permission to return to the country is despicable. Are these officials infants? If a citizen wants to come in, he/she must be allowed in without any hindrance. The bogey of a massive influx so that the capacity of quarantining is exceeded is untenable. Why? The capacity of one man will exceed in the event of an influx but not so if there are many players. Moreover, now that a vaccine is available it can be administered on arrival for a fee as an alternative of a racketeering quarantine. I am told that a loving father had to cough out Rs 450,000/= to bring down his daughter from Denmark. Why? Permission for Sri Lankans are given provided they travel UL either from Paris or Frankfurt. (Except for a few others) The connecting flight was also made costly and so was the hotel stay. Sources within say that the Foreign Ministry is Colombugged.

Not only human resources they have started to plunder and rape national assets, our precious land, environment so this story may be the tip of the iceberg.

The Rajapaksas’ sickening corruption should be on the front page of every newspaper.
I understand some expatriates had to pay Rs.700,000 for ONE-WAY air ticket including the cost of the hotel quarantine. Many people have complained to no avail.
With the full support of Gotabhaya, the Avant Garde is engaging in a virtual daylight robbery of people’s hard earned money. Disgusting!
The entire Rajapaksa clan is pathetic liars.
Complaints of massive deforestation are in every print & electronic media. Environmental organizations have raised the issue of deforestation for almost one year to no avail. At first, Gotabhaya denied any forest clearance. Then he said that he “did not tell people to clear forests” when it is he who allowed forest reserves be cleared by revoking Circular No. 5/2001 that protects the country’s Other State Forests and also arbitrarily transferring jurisdiction of the Other State Forests from the Forest Department to Divisional Secretariats facilitating Rajapaksa hooligans and various corrupt individuals & companies to buy cleared forest reserve lands from villagers.
In 2015, when there were massive corruption allegations against the Rajapaksas, we did not believe them.
Going by the past, it is possible the Rajapaksas get a cut from every deal involving repatriation, forest clearance, illegal farming, land-deed digitalization, road building, vaccines & sale of national assets.

    @Yahapalana.
As for Tajudeen’s Murder; the body was not Humilated by the present government.
It was Yahapalana who exhumed his body, then spread his body parts all over the island and causing severe trauma to the family.
It is now evident someone or certain people within the Yahapalana government may have been the ones who could have been guilty. * ( only a possibility, as I speculate with the way it was handled-)
You must not allow prejudice to interfere with your judgements.
It’s obvious, the present government if it had anything to do with the case , they could have easily done many things that no one could have been able to even imagine
But instead they who let the body be burried, does it make sense?

While it was Yahapalana who wanted to get rid of any evidence, including removing the body and getting rid of it.
That is the only logical explanation that is most fitting as to Tajudeen’s case .
Even The Easter incident the entire Yahapalana must take responsibility, and Ranil should be included , how can you only blame a President whose powers were curtailed and controlled by the parliament?
    Cheers .

Yes Lanka Netizen I can see how clear and without prejudice you are thinking. More than 40 journalist were killed under Rajapaksa watch but they didnt do it. Dude get a life. You are not the first to tell us this bed time stories. We already have Evil Eagle on board. How many were killed under dysfunctional RW s watch. There are 65 volumes of commission report on Easter carnage and Politician Ranjith was given just one to review. You the guy with no prejudice why dont you try raising your concerns against your most preferred home grown junta to know the repercussion.
