FCID Takes A High Performing Ford Mustang Into Custody Originally Owned By Namal

A high performing luxury Ford Mustang was taken into custody today by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID).

Namal Rajapaksa MP

Namal Rajapaksa MP

According to FCID, the ‘high performing’ car is believed to have been originally owned by Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa who had later sold it. Rajapaksa is currently out on bail over a money laundering case.

During the run up to the Presidential Election in January last year, the then opposition accused Rajapaksa’s sons of owning expensive racing cars as well as expensive horses from royal stables in the UK and helicopters. An allegation flatly denied by Namal Rajapaksa, who is the eldest son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Ford Mustang is not that expensive in US. They are comparable with cars like Toyota Prius and Camry in $25000 to $35000 range. I don’t know how much it is in Sri Lanka though.

@Shan, please get the facts right. Ford Mustang is a beautiful car and it is quite foolish of you to compare that to a Prius or Camry. The basic model on the road is about $25,000 before taxes. The Mustang Shelby is about $55,000 USD before taxes. Ford Mustang is a high performance muscle car, but the Shelby is what these guys are talking about, which is an absolute beauty. Please don’t put down this wonderful machine by comparing to Prius or Camry. There is absolutely no comparison. Also where did this pariah get the money to buy this car? This hoodlum robbed the country and bought all kinds of toys. Here you are trying to justify this hoodlum’s actions?

Ok, let’s say the Mustang is worth about $70,000 so let’s compare them to Lexus (still Toyota). UNP and yahapalaya folks talked about Lamborghini not Mustangs. You tell us the price difference.

The whole charade is to fool people and corner MR to give up challenge. I’m sure Rajapakses are corrupted just like other politicians including My3 and Ranil (helping friends to steal also can be considered corruption) but I’m willing to look the other way a bit for what they have done for Sri Lanka. Eliminating blood thirsty monster Prabhakaran and his gang from Sri Lanka is worth all of it though some people who shelled out their hard earned money to support the killing machine obviously hate Rajapakses. You see that everyday on this site.

Shan, I am ok with an MR supporter such as you. I only cannot stand racists. You may have your reasons to support MR. But when people tell me I am a supporter of VP because I am a Tamil and against MR, that pisses me off. I cannot stand both!!! Certain mustangs are collectors item just like some of the exotic cars you mentioned. Mustangs over time appreciate in value (Shelby/Cobra) but not Camry. Camry is a fine family vehicle but not a collector item.

It is wrong to embezzle money and buy expensive cars. But none of the accusations against the Rajapakses are not proven to date. Lets wait for the outcome from the judiciary before pointing fingers. What is a Mustang afterall when you consider the Rajapakses kicked the hell out of the Terrorits and saved many thousands of lives and, we now have peace. Aren’t you grateful for all that? I am happy and certainly won’t complain if Namal has a Mustang.

              Shan,

The KL meeting was not one meant for ex-Presidents. MR went there to escape the Kurunegala SLFP Conference. It was also Sinhala politicians here who are behind the demos against MR in KL. That is the quality of SL politics. Don’t go looking for red herrings in Malaysia for the depth to which our politics have sunk. Rajapakse politics may well be in their final days.

Not only his term but also the days of RW – and his CFA saved the lives of soldiers and civlilians.

Alone eating the full cake, has not reverberated falling onthe channels of DITTA DAMMAWEDANEEYA- … that is what we have been watching today..

Had Meeharaka Rajakashe a brain the size of a needle head, he would have governed the country being co-operate with others … to the reconciliation of some standards..

but his was focused to fat his pockets giving first place to crime breeding rather than to anything else.

THose IRC and any high criminals are close confidiantes of Rajakashes.
He made the nation a liybian or north korean folk. We the people had an image.. but to this date, meeharaka et al worsened it.

Winning the war is not an excuse for robbing the country. Every person in the country must be held accountable for their actions.Do we let off a murderer or a rapist off the hook because he has done a noble deed before? Its because of attitudes like these that tyrants dont fear their people.

The war was won due to the military leadership given by Sarath Fonseka. I accept the fact that Fonseka as a politician is a “NO GO” but, he was the best wartime Commander this country had. Unfortunately CBK did not have someone like him as the Army Commander.
This will be verified by any neutral Army Officer who was involved during the period when SF was Army Commander.

Let s put Mnister of Sports on altar each time matches against any leagues win.

That can then help those idiots to see it right let alone today, not those men sitting in colombo farting further, but the very brave soldiers including Army commanders and other higher senior men and field soliders did the job…

So 80% of the cake should be shared to the Army but not even 20% should be taken by Political leadership.

This is so simple, but rice eating pigs worked for Rajaakshe govt, painted it that way.

Artiste like Jackson anthony made big speeches turning the power intoxicated MR a king

All gawky men and women followed..

            Davidoff,

Today’s wars are fought ensuring minimum collateral damage – meaning civilians or their assets should not be harmed or come to grief. The egoistic Fonseka gave a damn about what happened to Tamil civilians i.e. women, children, the old, the infirm and so on. He ordered indiscriminate bombing from the land, air and sea to win the war quickly to pursue his political ambitions. Multiple thousands were killed, defored and mutilated. Homes, hospitals, schools, agricultural land etc., were all destroyed in the wake of this man man’s “strategy” Over a third of a million people were sent into camps similar to WW2 Concentration Camps for years. And the madman goes about with his Field Marshall badge. what an incurable lunatic. Is he not aware others, within and outside the country, are laughing at this ill-educated fool.

That is not to take into account the many talented Sinhalese he sent to their deaths to please the Rajapakse Brothers.

Not a mustang, but even a needle to be stolen away is a crime.

Ballige puthas of your kind being promoted by Rajakashes are not aware of that.

That is the reason why Rajakashe abused helifcopter lift at the time, Lanza was to be arrested – Lanza was known to men in Negombo as one of the DRUG KING PIN. Former beach boy turned to politicians had them in his blood to allow drug traffickers to get ground being close to his kin pin Meeharaka Rajakashe.

Samuel Jayaweera, these hoodlums are cunning and I will bet you anything, when they realised Ali Baba was going to lose the elections, they must have shipped all their exotic cars to a far away land. The Shelby maybe an exception.

So its ok then as long as its not a Bugatti Veyron.

It would be good if we are clearly told which of the many variants of the Shelby car is involved. This is what Wikipedia says about these cars:

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelby_Mustang

If it is a variant of one of these, then it is certainly an expensive car, but have any regulations been contravened? Definitely, these guys lived it up, and kept us all fearful of speaking out.

As for those Lamborghinis, it was rumoured, soon after the elections, that they had been imported without permission, and were air-lifted out of the country as the results of the Presidential elections were coming in on the 9th of January 2015. It was guys who knew a good deal about cars who told me this, but it does sound a bit far-fetched.

I wonder how Namal Baby this time would correct his statement already had been been made to FCID – asked if the car was financed by him was answered ” no no it was paid by a credit of a friend or so”. Now the eunach is caught by the set of lies. They the investigators have to go for charge them now.

The BBC’s Sinhala service interviewed Parliamentarian Namal Rajapakse to a query, he said that they are entitled to duty-free as a Member of Parliament in 2010, and the license to use the same car that he bought from.
However, a year ago, the car was sold to a friend of his MP Namal Rajapaksa said.
What reason he obtained a bank loan to buy the car seized by the police car that took him know that MP Namal Rajapaksa said

These men are so talented at LYING as has been their producer-MR.

I truly believe it is high time to start teaching kinder garten going little child about the impact of learning to steal things.
That is how first world countries work in their paedogogical methods how to build up a society. If the politicians would nt make laws allowing schools to react properly, undoubtedly it is the consequence of breeding Palhoru -stealers in this country.
We need good learning to become good ones and be part of a good cultured, respectful society.

If teachers would hang their sarree SHOWING their buriya- how can the pupils learn it…. we need to build up a society where professonals send the message across the nation – being exemplary..

Politicians like Rajakashes should nto be elected by anymeans…

There is not a single suitable road to accommodate the capacity of this powerful car. The only purpose of purchasing it by Namal Rajapakse is a ploy to launder ill-gotten money. Banks are duty bound to notify authorities when large sums of cash are deposited but not when a cheque is deposited. So Namal would have paid cash when purchasing the car but received a cheque when selling.

This has to be looked into. I had a TOYATA Carina. A normal vehicle and due to a slight higher engine capacity, for 5 yrs had to pay a semi luxury tax each year for its renewal.

I wonder this person who ever it may be had everything legally placed and paid up.

MR and Namal’s Lawyer trivialise the matter as expected. If they were not guilty , why was this car being hidden all these days? for how long does the public have to put-up with this crap??? http://www.dailymirror.lk/115344/Ford-Mustang-bought-with-vehicle-permit-MR

MR and family are immoral to the bone. Big time rogues of public money. They have put this country in such a mess that getting out of this situation is going to take a lifetime from the younger generation. I am appalled that the Sri Lankan public don’t see this and get swayed by their bullshit! rhetoric
