Five Top Diplomats In Colombo Warn Sirisena Of Dire Consequences: Sirisena Delays Official Response To Speaker’s Letter

Heads of five diplomatic missions in Colombo have met President Maithripala Sirisena to discuss the current political crisis and expressed strong displeasure at the developments in Parliament on Thursday and Friday, Colombo Telegraph learns.

Sirisena

Among those who met Sirisena were the heads of diplomatic missions of the US, UK, the European Union and Australia, informed diplomatic sources told Colombo Telegraph.

They had informed Sirisena that his administration would face “dire consequences”, especially in the diplomatic sphere, if the crisis persisted. They had asserted that Sirisena should take the lead in resolving the crisis, without delay.

At a meeting with one diplomat, Sirisena had said he had assurances from several key UPFA MPs that former President Rajapaksa commanded majority support in the House. The President had said he appointed Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister based on such assurances.

It is against this backdrop that Sirisena has delayed responding to the letter sent by Jayasuriya yesterday informing that the second No-Confidence Motion against Mahinda Rajapaksa was adopted by Parliament.

Although the President, at a meeting with SLPP MPs, said that he did not accept the second No-Confidence Motion, he has not officially informed his opinion to the Speaker thus far.

Sirisena, when he met party leaders supporting the No Confidence Motion earlier this week, said he would resolve the current political crisis within “two-three” days. However, when he informed the SLPP MPs that he did not accept the results of the second NCM, the matter came back to square one.

Sirisena should respond like this…ban USAID in SL. Ban every Norwegian NGO’s. Cancel their visas. Ban American centres, british centres around SL. And send some shiploads of refugees to Australia. That’s how the game is played. And nationalise Pakia’ s NGO assets. Freeze their bank accounts.
And remind them it was their pet RW who gave away the ports. So make them understand to STFU.

Sach …..there is a better solution …annexe Sri Lanka to China and become a Chinese province…..

there are Chinese road signs appearing all over Colombo…….hotels in Colombo are serving more and more Chinese food and not Sri Lankan food…..public transports during commute time in Colombo are full of Chinese …

walk in to any super market in Colombo ….full of Chinese….

please learn to eat frogs and chicken claws and snakes…as that is what will be sold in the markets soon….

We can thumb our noses at the West all we like …… but the West has more “influence” over Lanka than the average ignorant Lankans can imagine. Is spite of their false bravado for local consumption :)) no local pol will dare go against the West.

But ……… this is not about any of that …….. the truth simply put without all the crap that’s thrown around to cloud and confuse

The truth is ……….. Sirisena wants another term …….. when asked for support Ranil informed Sirisena that Ranil too intends to run. There is a snowball’s chance in hell of Sirisena wining without UNP’s (or Mahinda’s) support.

All this is nothing but ……… a clumsy moronic attempt by Sirisena to make use of Ranil’s perennial unpopularity among the Lankans and hitch his wagon to the undeserving but undiminished (before this debacle) “popularity” of mahinda for a second-run at the presidency. This is just a play by Sirisena for political survival beyond his current term.

Simply that …….. people should see it for what it is ………. and not try to intellectualize it to the stratosphere because we have a bit of “Western education.” ………Gotta learn that ……. in spite of all the posturing and pretenses …….. there is no great sophistication in the Lankan-mind …….. :))

“An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way.” — Charles Bukowski

You guys can start calling me an artist! ……. preferably with the con prefix ………. after all I’m Lankan ……….. it runs in my blood! :))

Let’s show them we don’t need any international aid. Be independent.

The war criminals themselves have publicly said they would not have won the war without Hindian help.

“Rajapakses are branded as war criminals by Demalu because they got rid of the Pol Pot of Sri Lanka Malapaharan and fked Demala terrorists.”

Why are you trying to put words into Dr Mahinda’s mouth?

“If Rajapakses are crooks what do you call the Royal Gang who robbed the Central Bank and EPF; ‘Super Crooks’?”

Hence all in all this country is run by crooks since independence.

Unfortunately third world countries with a majority of people who are poor, uneducated, physically sick and in need of everything that’s required to lift them out of the garbage heap they live in do not have such a privilege. They cannot tell a more enlightened part of the world to get lost. Do that and overnight we lose our export markets, our position in the world, even though low down in the scale, our dreams of migrating abroad, foreign aid which amounts to a significant portion of our budget. In fact too many such items to mention here. We will all end up selling not only our women but our men, including ourselves, to the Arabs. So should you write anything in future, try writing sense.

May I add a few more thing? The Sri Lanka rulers and their family members should not visit US, UK, EU, Australia, India, in short country who seems to oppose MS, and not use their banks to hide their black money. They should request all their family members living in these countries to return back to Sri Lanka immediately, Sri Lankan air lines should stop flying to these countries. Their airlines should be banned from Sri Lanka.
      .

That should teach them a good lesson. Their economies, banks, tourism etc. would collapse overnight provided MS is kicked out by his own family members and supporters before that.

Hurrah. Ban them all. What a success we made out of Sri Lankan after chasing out Emirates and it’s CEO who ran Sri Lakan successfully for again on personal animosity similar to now.

Im not sure if I should admire your courage or laugh at your stupidity. However I will do both. First you must realize, as much as we love our mother land, as a country it is a grade A beggar in debt upto its neck. Without the begging bowl we will have no option but to end up cannibalizing each other. So we cant dare to even think of your option. So, as beggars do, suck it up and take what ever is thrown at you and lap it like a beggar and hope and pray they dont stop from throwing some thing our way. Having said that, as beggars we have and have had only one option. That is to get out of this reliance for out basic sustenance. How do we do that? Not with the bunch we saw running around like monkeys in Parliament. Specially when the big monkey sits and directs the other monkeys. These lot clearly dont want you and I to live in a country where we are able to say what you’ve written above. As they are the ones who have kept the status quo. Imagine for example, how hard would it be to use the money we saved on just the luxury cars they drive about, to educate the intelligent youth of this country to be productive. The world is clamoring for such people. What long term policies have anyone got to create wealth and prosperity? It has all been smoke screens and inside games to keep everyone apart e.g. racial politics. So, start doing things and lets get out of begging and become self sufficient. The majority of those ‘leaders’ are clearly not even fit to be born an animal to grace this planet. Start with kicking them out and electing leaders who will atleast not block us from becoming self sufficient. If you don’t want to do that then please STFU!

Doratupala, you cannot have much grey matter but Are you also insane?
A second prime minister is appointed while the one in post is still functioning, that too secretly on a Friday night, and when the story was exposed and there was no majority for the new guy in Parliament, immediately prorogue the Parliament, and when that couldn’t hold for long, dissolve the whole house calling for elections! When it all falls apart as the SC put a stay order, then play hide and seek with the parliamentary majority not accepting the obvious!
Doratupala, even if you and your pals play dead and cannot see the reality, the world is not blind! They can see these uneducated eighth grade jokers playing hell with a naturally rich and wealthy country! No wonder there is such a brain drain with doratupalas being cloned everyday!

Why doubt this when prez himself had wanted a vote by name, and presumably nothing else? And why debate an obvious result unlike the NCM against Ranil where the numbers were uncertain until it was over?

When the whole Parliament is in such turmoil and disorder, how can it be business as usual. Just don’t pretend to not know that. Emergency measures must be enacted to save democracy and the rule of law. That is what is what is in short supply. CT is only reporting what what we, and the whole world has been privy to. Wrong is Wrong and Right is MIGHT. Tell MR to stop being greedy for power and retire gracefully. We know so much about him, and it is hard to even start to reconcile.

They have all helped our country immensely in times of need, and have a right to say what is on their mind. If they withdraw their support, we will probably be drawn into the vortex of just one country – Communist China, which could also mean, quit calling ourselves ‘non-aligned.’ Probably BaBaboos has no problem with that.

Hey Dopey! The question is not about having elections, but the rule of Law. There are fundamental rules that must be adhered to before we can have elections. This is a process of grabbing power and then forcing sham elections under their writ, as a means to resolving the issue, No saying what the outcome of such elections would like, going by past experiences.

Sira and his Trumps: Sirisena, let us now see how effective your trump cards really are. I don’t think you have any. It was a bluff. A good card player would not be so boisterous about the trumps in his hand. Only one who had none would brag like you. If you were playing Chess, this is the point your opponent would say ‘Check”.
    .
In Parabhava Sutta, which deals with the habits that lead to the utter economic ruin of a man, Buddha says, Itthidhutto surādhutto -Akkhadhutto ca yo naro – Laddham laddham vināseti -Tam parābhavato mukham (Addiction to Wine, Women and Gambling would make a man lose whatever he earns and lead to his utter ruin).
    .
The case of Sirisena is perhaps the first case in history where just talking about something used in gambling lead to a man losing everything he had built up. Even Buddha would not have expected such an eventuality. But then, the man deserves it. He was completely ungrateful to those who, at the risk of their lives, helped him to come to the high position he was occupying and ungrateful to the millions upon millions of masses who voted for him.
    .
Important people have committed such treachery in the history of the world. But Sirisena’s act of finally embracing the very enemy, and throwing his previous ally to the lions, may be a first in the history of villains. One cannot imagine how someone could be so vile unless he has gone completely crazy.

His “trump” is the Bond scam report in the which the 118 names are listed. This cunning fellow blocked all attempts to investigate all the pre-2015 misdeeds in the CB, but continued to push the Bond scam investigation. He is hoping to drop this like a “bombshell”.

We can thank our mainstream press too for not pushing for a pre-2015 CB investigation.

I really don’t care about what people say about other people, especially, Europe interfering in our affairs, when we ourselves can’t commit sincerely to the constitution that we have devised ourselves, there is a lot to be said about who we are in terms of our honesty and integrity. The President is at the top of the tree and he is naked in front of the world and he is deceiving no one, but himself and the cronies that he has surrounded himself with. Just like RW is accused of being a western agent, equally it is true that MR is a Chinese puppet. We need India with us if SL is to succeed, MR MS cronies need to realise we are small part of the whole world. Be a honourable President, respect your constitution without playing politics with it. History will judge you, you have no vision and have done nothing.

The best solution is to go back to the pre 1972 constitution, until a better one, well discussed by the people at large, is formulated. The very basis on which it was discarded was because some para dogs felt insecure due to the protection given to the minorities.

    A Good News Break guys..
Mr Sampathar is replacing Dr Ranil as the PM.
Mr Sajith Premadasa was holding . Mr Sampathar hand on his way to make the announcement..
Mr Sampathar said he is willing to lead the Party..

Surely Mr Sampathar can’t lead the UNP ..
May be Mr Sampathar wants to make his Vellala Party TNA part of the UNP Officially.
If it is the case, it certainly makes sense.

TNA has no influence in Jaffna after Mr Wigneswaran formed his own Party TMP.
Between Wiggy and Doughie, they have the Jaffna inhabitants stitched up..
May it is the reason for Mr Sanmpathar to make this move.
Either way ‘ it is a good move.
We wish him well as long as they don’t partition the Nation….

Whereas the ones who received the blows were Speaker Jayasooriya, Anura Dissanayake, Herath, Ratnayake, Mangala, Ravi Karu Harsha De Silva, Ajit Perera etc.
No wonder the eighth grade Storekeeper cum GS is gallently supporting them, lying to every Tom Dick and Harry to keep the battle going! That’s his card game!

The only interest West has is to counter China.
We do not need your advice from the West. Stay out of Sri Lanka.

Why cant we have four cabinets and four prime ministers; two for MR and RW, one for tamils and one for Muslims. That way our Demo-Crazy would flourish much more than what it is. And MY3 will remain as President and King for Pollonaruwa. At the same time arrange with developed countries to accept educated and enlightened and informed Sri Lankans as refugees. If there are no thinking people then life will be easy for the crooks.

Perhaps solution to Sri Lanka’s political, ethnic and economic problems are a simple partition and annexing between India and China

    A Cyprus model

Indian Lanka and Chinese Lanka this will also be compatible cultural and religious sentiments.

Dayan Jayatilleka should ask Putin what Russia is doing in Ukraine and also why it is funding the Assad regime in Syria.

Sirisena acted under powers given to him under the constitution. The speaker also acts under his understanding of parliamentary procedure. If they are wrong either the Supreme Court or the parliament can correct them.Ultimately the people of this country will decide. No foreigner can tell a a sovereign country what to do.

There are puppets who wear three piece suits in the hot sun. They are happy to drink expensive wine and dance to the tune of diplomats. But are they really gentlemen ? Are they just putting on a show enjoying the exercise of power while making money ?

The Royal Thomian cricket match is the annual cultural show of these types. If you go there next year you will see many of these types drunk and singing absurd songs with their hands over each others shoulders. A nation that can produce such filthy comics must rethink their basic worth.

“They had informed Sirisena that his administration would face “dire consequences”, especially in the diplomatic sphere, if the crisis persisted.”
Who told CT? American Ambassador? UK Ambassador?

Last night i watched a quiz programme on tv. A question asked was ‘What is the country that has its national anthem without lyrics?’ The answer given was Spain. There are actually three more (not well known) countries that come under this category. I hope some day soon Sri Lanka would take the unique position as the only country that has no words in both its national anthem and its constitution. Not with the present parliament anyway.
NOTE: somewhere else in the internet i heard the Spanish national anthem being ‘sung’.

I am shocked to note that IGP has not made a single comment about the Police Officers being attacked and being injured inside the Parliament. Is the IGP not interested in the welfare of his officers? Is he so power hungry and wants to stay in his seat he does not want to take any action against those who attacked the Police. If it was a normal civilian by now he would have taken the guys and locked them up after beating them. We saw this what IGP did to a lift operator some time back. There should be a no confidence motion passed by the police officers against IGP.

    Here is a suggested statement:

“The President of Sri Lanka (not the government at least the President is the legal president since these guys wanted him elected)…

The President of the DSRSL acknowledges the concern of our partner countries at this time of crisis. He wishes to draw the attention of our partner countries to the fact that the Supreme Court will be soon issuing a ruling on the costitutionality of the dissolution of parliamnent.

The President also wishes for our partner countries to note the fact also that the in our democracy the parliament is not under control of the President, so it would have been unconstitutional to intervene in yesterdays proceedings, however the President is taking steps to resolve the issue by meeting with all parties represented in parliamnent and is confident that all issues will be settled shortly.

The President also would like all parties to note that the NCM process correctly takes several days, and the President has the option to withold response to the speakers letter until the ruling of the Supreme Court, as any decisions regarding the cabinet and Prime Minister will depend and possibly be nullified by that decision”

He says MR said he has the majority and that’s why he appointed MR as the premier without a floor test.
Well now Ranil says he has. Why does he accept that and fire MR and appoint Ranil again without a floor test just like he did for MR ?
    Why the double standard?

Park west, you are spot on. This president will next blame 1978 constitution of JRJ and the economic policies. He may even take this country towards the dark days of 1970/77 era. He is looking for a scapegoat now. This man even as a minister did not have any respect for the laws of the country. He has no brains to take the advice of learned and knowledgeable people.

We need to understand our position in the world. Beggars can’t be choosers.

For more than 70 years the corrupt blind led the innocent blind.

It’s time to open our eyes. Understand the real issue is us.

We are still standing devided for our favorite colours or for our favorite politicians.

They are standing together and exploiting us using the corrupt media to further devided us.

We should all stand only for our respective Ideas but not for a person.

Respect democracy and bow to the idea of the Majority.

Democracy is a system, an Idea created to stop violence. We all need to fight to secure democracy together.
