Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagoda Atte Gnanasara and 11 others including 6 monks were further remanded today in two separate hearings.
The BBS General Secretary was further remanded by the Homagama Magistrate till 23rd February 2016 for allegedly threatening Sandya Ekneligoda, wife of missing person Prageeth Ekneligoda, while another 11 persons, including 6 monks were remanded until 1st March 2016 over their unruly behaviours outside the Homagama Court complex last month.
The 11 remanded were ordered to be arrested by the Homagama magistrate last month after they demonstrated outside the court complex against the magistrate’s verdict to remand the BBS General Secretary for contempt of court.

My last wish is to see the society is being kept away from Ghanasara et al. Then only we can see a progress towards betterment. Else, only hatred, deviousness, malice filled society will get expanded. All in all with limited time left, this is my last wish. At least the youth in the country be blessed with a better and civlized people dominated future. Looking at the manner – Rajapakshe and his supporters the way they drag the nation for their curse is not acceptable. We have seen a lot inthis country alone last 10 years. But we dont want to see it repeating again. That will then like falling down from the pan to the hearth. May tripple gems be blessed all folks in the motherland.
/
Sirimal / February 17, 2016
More or less my father in his early 90tis said the same.
Most rev. Sobitha Thero was also eagerly waiting any high level culprits to be convicted.
If a referendum would be called, majority of the people will say yes to LAW AND ORDER – proper inveistigations against any culprits regardless of the levels of the abuses.
But here, we will definitely see Rajaakshe supporters (SLFP dissidents) will never praise holding investigations for anyone of the rajapakshe group.

Is is ‘Triple gems be blessed by people’ or ‘people be blessed by Triple gem’, is what I thought all along. What exactly is Triple Gem, and its connection to Buddhism? I am a non-Buddhist interested to learn Buddhism, Theravada version. Can someone explain?

Best thing can happen to Buddhism is to keep this Bas..d in jail for the longest time..this Bas..d is an insult to Lord Buddha..

Mj,
Applying law to Gnansara is a good thing, but not the best.. Because Gnansara and his supporters are only the results. According to law of causality, there are causes which created guys like Gnanasara. Best is to eradicate or reduce those causes..

Yes what is the alteratnive if we are compelled to start let alone today ?
Those who preach and taken aside have done nothing to stop this – this was long overdue. And in the same time, they the rulers have to bring new rules of laws with high disipline if these men to be tamed .

Sorry these are not causes, these are what Gota sponsored, nurtured, bred and protected. This is PURE RACISM. It is the Sasana and the Monks themselves who have to be blamed. Why blame and finger point at others? Look at the customers at a Tavern, Bar, Casino, Drug joints etc, you will find the MAJORITY if not the ENTIRE lot belonging to the majority community. Why is the Sasana and the Monks not going after these ? Is it because these business enterprises are carried out by Sinhala Buddhists who financially contribute generously to the Temples and the MOnks ? First the Sinhala Buddhists have to clean their own stables, before they play the blame game on others.

Come on, why remand, remand and remand? Just let the case run its course. Then, hopefully, the robed criminals will be spending some time in authentic cages.

CT has given a respectable look to this saffron clad thug.
Look at his glasses, doesn’t he look like an intellectual monk?
/
CHANAKYAN / February 16, 2016
Like Lady Justice, judges from North to South have become blind to status and power. Saffron robes no longer protect criminal acts. In no time all judges will be immune to influence. A welcome development.

Sadhu, sadhu, Saaaaaadhu. May the ‘ignorant one – Agnanasara’ stay shunned from society for a long time to come. His remand term must now be turned into a jail term, and his incarceration is long overdue for his 2014 Aluthgama fiasco. It must be joyous moment to many thousands of people who dislike him, that he is treated with disdain and in this way. He too was was invariably asking for it, repeatedly challenging the authorities to arrest him if he has done wrong. It was a case of – from the frying pan into the fire. Losing elections and now serving time in remand custody, all because of his big foul mouth, which he has no control over.

A great way to sum up the whole thing, it took a lady judge to do it, unfortunately not “we”- success has many fathers….not sure what will happen to her if Gota & co come back to power, did we do anything when Dr Sriyani was in strife. Gnana’s crusade is also about protecting Buddhism.

Sarath De Silva — the man who corrupted the judiciary must be made to feel guilty over what he did to the judiciary. He is no different to Gnanasara.
I hope he will be caged one day before he makes his somersaulting jump to barricade himself by joining the government.

Here is a beauty Boys & Girls, in the City.,
Yahapala PM , Batalanada Ranil says we have to get out of the South Asian Mentality.
How cool
Batta says he did his own survey of the Economy of the inhabitants.
All he found was a large beurocracy in the village
All his mates in Colombo are working hard to make the money and then the Govt gives it to the poor.
Batta says this has to stop
And the World Bank has promised him to double our GDP by 2025.
No wonder Batalanda has already started the ground work to get rid of Mahawamsa, and the Bikkus.because that is the combination which held the Sinha Le for 2500 years.
“
Batalanada Ranil’s message here to Jathika Heala Urumaya is Eat Shit” as they say in the West.
Where is JVP Prince nowadays, after taking that LKR 25 Lakhs from Wijedasa Rajapaksa?..
/
Justice & Fairplay / February 19, 2016
Sumanasekera, I refer to your statement:
“Where is JVP Prince nowadays, after taking that LKR 25 Lakhs from Wijedasa Rajapaksa?.”
The JVP Prince referred to above is Anura Kumara Disanayake, a very respected and an extremely useful member of parliament.
Are you willing to furnish the proof concerning this accusation please? I believe you are aware that to accuse in writing without proof is a criminal act.
The Prince you refer to, from my evaluation, would not be bought over for 25 billion, let alone the paltry LKR 25 lakhs and he certainly has the brains which you sadly haven’t.
The people whom you should genuinely ridicule are in and around Medamulana.

KAS,
You say “No wonder Batalanda has already started the ground work to get rid of Mahawamsa, and the Bikkus.because that is the combination which held the Sinha Le for 2500 years”.
And I say, good on RW or anyone else who will get rid of Mahawamsa and Bikkus. Mahawamsa keeps us in the dark ages with its mixture of myths and plain lies. Bikkus because they keep us devided, are unproductive and a drain on the economy and worse still, as they are always up to mischief that ends in horrors committed on minorities. I am no fan of RW but if he can get rid of anything that keeps us in the dark ages and pure ignorance and divided then he is doing a good job.

BBS Rep,
You must be one of those Buddhists who went to watch Englesi ass and standing next to the Colombo chicks who were holding their knicker thinking whether to keep them on or throw them ..to Englesi ass of course.
/

KAS,
I would rather watch Iglesias standing next to chicks holding on to knickers than go about killing innocent people in Aluthgama or roaming around in white vans to do the bidding of your Mafia brothers.

Better still, he should be put at large in a small cell with his fellow jailbirds, who can then proceed to mutually enlarge the circle of their friends.

What was that again, ‘put at large in a small cell’? Mutually enlarge the circle of what of their friends? Oh dear me, they are all monks who got into a rage, for Christ sake.

Good job done by the Homagama Magistrate. It is refreshing to have such officials who are not afraid to do their job, and uphold the laws of the land. He seems undaunted by threats and political pressures.
We need more Magistrates with integrity and courage of this kind, so that we can have some law and order in our country, and make sure others will think twice before behaving like thugs.
/
Seelawathie / February 17, 2016
We need the kind of magistrates more inthe country… judges that can go ahead with anyone without fears but being compliant to prevailing and reformed laws. :
Now JVP has been doinga great job – introducing the need of FCID or any other units that should work under PM or President office. They point out the need of the emegernce of such ofices are in demand today, that is why we need to strengthen the hand of such bodies. Even if that former Balu Silva the most wicked judge sitting onthe side of the dogs …. adding his low grade commments beingunable to digest the curent rule -may be we could also take him to custody in the days to come: Then the entire YAHAPALANYA would have done almost 80% in controllling all the virulent forces that draged this country /society ot the levels.

You mean the ‘gedara yana gaman’ Cheap hustler, aka ‘yana ena gaman’, who got caught with someone else’s lady on his lap. We all thought he earned his respect with his knowledge on Buddhism, but soon realized his bluff. The disgraced CJ who carries a bogus chuckle that we needed to tickle ourselves to appreciate his sense of humor. The only CJ who openly supported the incumbent President MR, was his matchmaker, and openly apologized to the people on an election platform for judgements that he passed as SC Judge. Surely he must have established the lowest benchmark for any CJ in the world, another first for little SL.

If anyone is in any doubt about the appalling behaviour of these monks then just simply ask yourself the question how would the Buddha behave in situations like this?
Buddhism is about attaining enlightenment and involves getting rid of EGO.
The way these priests behave shows they are no more Monk than the man in the street.
The behaviour and pure hatred demonstrated by some opposition MPs to the Government is another example of the sad decline of what the Buddha taught in this beautiful Island.
However there now is a light at the end of the tunnel and I think even people in the rural community are beginning to understand what has happened in the past and what might happen if justice is not done concerning these people.
Actually if it wasnt so sad it really would be hilarious …. :)
/
Mickey Mouse / February 18, 2016
I wish these Monks and Politicians would really grasp and understand the Buddhas Noble Eighthfold Path.
Clinging…. wanting and attachment along with the inability to let go is the cause of suffering and yet its astonishing that those who were until recently in power just somehow dont get it do they.
Let go of what once was and now no longer is….and…. you might start enjoying your lives.
The hatred and bitterness so evident from those who once held massive power shows lack of understanding of the Dhamma.
