Gnanasara Labours With(in) Hospital In Surgery-Less Relief

Galagoda Atte Gnanasara, the General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) who provisionally admitted himself to a Class 1 Luxury Room at the Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital (SJGH) pending verdict on a Contempt of Court case, remains there despite his sentence and even though there is no surgery scheduled or required.

Gnanasara

Dr Susitha Senaratne, the quasi Director of SJGH, earlier declared on Derana TV that the monk would be operated on to remove a 3 cm kidney stone. Senaratne said that the surgery would be performed on August 13th, although it was asserted that it would be done on August 10th.

However sources within SJGH confirm that the staghorn calculus of the kidney found in Gnanasara did not warrant immediate surgery and the Urology and allege that the Transplant Surgeon, Dr Niroshan Seneviratne, a close associate of Senaratne is a co-conspirator of the illusion of planned surgery to perpetuate Gnanasara’s stay in hospital.

Sources say that certain doctors have strived to ensure that “medical reasons” are invented so that surgery need not be performed on Gnanasara even as “new reasons” are recorded on the bed head ticket of the monk to keep him in hospital for an alleged “heart condition”.

It was also reported by Colombo Telegraph that Gnanasara who appeared to be in fit condition was fixed to a cardiac monitor and in spite of his imprisoned state photography of his staged condition was encouraged so that “sympathy photographs” may leak, strengthening the lobbying for a Presidential Pardon.

Senaratne, as has been pointed out by Colombo Telegraph on previous occasions, is functioning as director illegally since the illegal nature of his appointment persuaded court to demand that the Hospital Board suspend him.

Gnanasara has been sentenced to 19 years of rigorous imprisonment on four Contempt of Court charges over an incident that took place on January 25, 2016. The determination was on a case filed by the Attorney General against Gnanasara following a petition submitted to the Appeals Court by the Former Homagama Magistrate and current Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake.

What a sorry spectacle of a shameless, loud-mouthed convict, who does not deserve one iota of sympathy from anyone.

If the medical practitioners at SJGH are conniving to perpetuate his luxurious stay in a Class 1 room at tax-payer expense, then shame on them too.

I am saddened by the widespread lack of ethics on display every day on the part of professionals in Sri Lanka, especially those whose chosen mission is to treat the sick and be bound by the Oath of Hippocrates.

Give the poor sod a break

      He really looks sick

What sort of people are you? Don’t you have compassion for a ill illustrious venerable Buddhist priest ……. whose religion is safeguarded in the hallowed constitution?

Is Lanka a Buddhist country or not?

Hi Nimal, It is a buddhist country and that is half the problem. In the name of that great religion, anything goes, and the rulers are gutless to intervene.

    Well well well…
The circus is back in town.
The stay out of Jail circus I mean.
We are sitting by and watching the drama as it unfolds with awe!
How pathetic are we all, just talk talk talk.
No one has the guts to right the wrongs, all those with authority and power to fix this mockery of the Justice system are also watching the whole thing with the rest of us like a Tele drama.
A Tele drama with a very cheap and unintelligent script I must say, yet we continue to endure the horror regardless.
Since 2005 we have slowly been indoctrinated to accept this kind of outrageous bullshit to be the norm and we have learnt to sit back and enjoy it anyway.
Upon all this Hanky-Panky some people are allowed to play with our justice system, the common man is not allowed to make the slightest of mistakes without the police coming down heavily on us. That too we continue to tolerate.
Nothing what is going on in Sri Lanka makes any sense to me, heavy taxation yet those in the parliment continue to enjoy unlimited perks and privileges like never before.
Logic and common sense does not mafter in Sri Lanka anymore.
We have become a nation of loosers, that is my honest feeling.

Should any one be surprised? Fraud and deceit is another attribute of the Sinhala Buddhist. No offense to the real Buddhist this is only the card carrying ones that use religion only for personal gain.
This is the tough guy that was screaming from the roof top that he will go to jail or even sacrifice his life for “war heroes”.

Do you think this saffron clad thug following the foot steps of venerable Buddhist monk Thích Quang Duc of Vietnam would commit self-immolation in the hospital “to show that to fight all forms of oppression on equal terms, Buddhism too, needed to have its martyrs”?

He has a comfortable bed to sleep whereas the ancient cave monasteries had built in stone beds crowned with stone pillows. What a comfortable urban lifestyles he is accustomed to.

Galagoda Atte Gnanasara is an invented Buddhist monk admitted to a Class 1 Luxury Room at the Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital for medical reasons invented by
quasi Dr. Niroshan Seneviratne and quasi Dr. and fake administrator Susitha Senaratne, and is waiting for an invented surgery. Now the fake media is busy inventing sympathy for pardon by the invented President Sirisena.

Patients with Kidney Stones needn’t reminders about the the excruciating pain.
Heart Patients at least can put a Tablet under the Tongue.
But our Best Health Minister who is now the Deputy Boss of the WHO in addition to the Health Minister of Yhapalana Lankawe went to Singapore to get his Heart Plumbing renovated.
The Minister, in addition to his big Dentist Job , is a Multi Multi Millionaire with even Family Shipping Company in his Family Trust.
Still the Yahapalana Tax payers had to to fork out LKR 10 Mil, plus SIA Airfares for his Hospital Visit.
Poor Venerable Gnanasara has to get his Kidney Cut Up in Kotte.
Hope they give him an appropriate Anaesthetic.
Because a poor man from my old Village under went surgery to remove his Gangrenous Leg.
It was done under local anaesthetic because they don.t have the proper system which can put in to people with damaged hearts due to attacks..
In good old days Venerable Ganasara went o Oslo in Business Class……..

Clear indication of politics influences court in Sri Lanka ..shame on Sri Lanka justice system

    • 3
      0

      Lankan:
Yes politics is influencing the court and the AG is not doing his job. There are many more monks that should be charged. He can start with these two.

“Two monks for the defence – Kirama Devinda and Pitigala Dhamma Veneetha – had lied about the conduct of Ven. Gnanasara inside the Homagama Magistrate’s court in January 2016. Both monks were present in the magistrate’s court when Ven. Gnanasara went on a rampage and disrupted court proceedings.

While Ven. Gnanasara himself admitted to the Court of Appeal that he addressed the magistrate’s court and used disparaging language, his two monk colleagues insisted he did not use such words.

“The Court … can observe that the evidence of the accused (Ven. Gnanasara) and the evidence of this (Ven. Kirama Devinda) stand wide apart from each other just like two parallel lines in a rail track which would never converge.”

Its an open and shut case.

This is the secret of SAFFRON ROBE wearing. No matter the guy wrapped by it, is a criminal or multi criminal, he could easily enjoy enormous impunity.

This is also the case with Diplomats. No matter ASP Liyanage would be an underworld manin COlombo, so long he is the appointed REPRESENTATIVE for Quatar, he can abuse the freedom and impunity given to him as the diplomat of SRILANKA.

Udayanga WEERATHUNGA or Jaliya Wickramasooriya are proved abusive men. But they enjoyed impunity and even today they are enjoying it.

Grey layer makes is very difficult to get teh ground reality of a monk, or a pseudo monk so long he has been wearting sanga costume. These men are real day clowns. By going all the incidents reported over the last 6 years, one with a little brain would easily get, this man in robes and that PISSU BALLAh of Mangalarama are both extremists in safron robes. These men have done all the damages to this nation.
Managala Ramaya man today has been spreading some soft tunes because he too knows he could easily be end up in a prison.
These men of this aggressive nature should be rehablitated to the very same manner FORMER LTTERs were rehablitated that can only be healthy for the future of srilanka.

Maha Ven Ganasara must appeal his decision based on freedom of speech. I heard the Tamil mp who said LTTE should be revived is going to apply to court on the basis of freedom of speech. If Tamils can do that why can’t a Sinhala spiritual leader denied the same rights.

Gnanasara (I won’t address as Ven. because you are not in my book)

There is a saying among Buddhist circles that bad health too, is a form of karma, so as a Buddhist monk, you must be well aware of ‘Karma’ . Accordingly, it seems now that your past sins are catching up with you with all the ill health & sufferings from kidney stones & heart ailments. You don’t seem to be the tough physical specimen you used to be. Anyway, it can’t be too bad, after all, you have a comfortable bed (wonder who pays for your hospital bills?) & the expertise of all the top doctors at your disposal while the average man on the street has to sleep under beds or on benches in over crowded hospitals.

Where the money is coming from: 2018 Budget
“Among other allocations are Ministries of Buddha Sasana (Rs 1,462,955,000)”.

      This should not surprise you.
“Chief of defence staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne gave half a million rupees in cash to help the main suspect in the abduction and murder of 11 children escape arrest, the Colombo magistrate was told.”

    In other news:

“Sri Lanka’s chief of defence staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne gave half a million rupees in cash to help the main suspect in the abduction and murder of 11 children escape arrest, the Colombo magistrate was told Wednesday.

Colombo Fort Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered the bank of Ceylon to provide details of a navy account from which 500,000 rupees had been given to Hettiarachchi Mudiyanselage Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi alias Navy Sampath last year to escape the police net.

“There is incriminating evidence against Admiral Wijegunaratne’s role (when he was navy commander) in allowing the accused to evade arrest,” the police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) told the magistrate.”

And they call LTTE a terrorist organization??

Sri Lanka Sinhala Buddhism on show here.

A Sri Lanka Sinhala Buddhist Monk….on a hospital bed…still in the holy Buddhist robe…(I presume the robe is holy and can be only worn by ordained priest) …showing off his wrist with intravenous bandage..(perhaps injecting holy water).

Any patient admitted to any hospital in any part of the world …is required to put on the hospital gown..for hygienic purpose.

…who ever is stage managing this think it is a great piece of advertisement for Buddhism or a great piece of PR to get some sympathy ..for this guy to be released from his impending prison sentence.

Sri Lanka Sinhala Buddhism …..demonstrating how the yellow robe is exploited on the gullible Sinhala rural masses…for corruption, nepotism, and political gain….

As I commented before, GG would be “hospitalized” until the prisons deem him unfit to be admitted to the prison, thus qualifying him to a Presidential Pardon. That is for starters.

      GS:
Politicians are elected by the people for the people and it is their will that they should not be taken for fools.
So will the politicians bring a bill into parliament and pass that would add back days spent in hospital by a SENTENCED CRIMINAL to the original sentence.

We have too many criminals spending their sentence in hospital abusing the justice system with the help of crooked politicians and doctors.
