Gnanasara Sentenced To 19 Years Of Rigorous Imprisonment

General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) Galagoda Atte Gnanasara was sentenced to 19 years of rigorous imprisonment by the Appeals Court on four Contempt of Court charges over an incident that took place on January 25, 2016. The sentences will run concurrently and will be completed in 6 years.

Gnanasara

President of Court of Appeal, Justice Preethi Padman Surasena and Justice Shiran Gunaratne announced the sentence this morning (August 8).

The defendant was not present in court at the time and defense counsel informed court that his client had been admitted to the Sri Jayewardenapura Hospital.

The determination was on a case filed by the Attorney General against Gnanasara following a petition submitted to the Appeals Court by the Former Homagama Magistrate and current Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake.

Earlier Gnanasara was sentenced to 6 months of rigorous imprisonment on June 14 for threatening Sandya Ekneligoda, the wife of missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda within the Homagama court premises.

Former Homagama Magistrate and present Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake, Deputy Solicitor General Dileep Peiris and prison officers filed statements against Gnanasara Thero.

According to spokespersons of the BBS, the determination has already been challenged in court.

Gnanasara gets 19 years RI for shouting off his mouth. UNP top level politicians and businessmen central bank robbers go all the way to claim heaven’s luxuries for far more serious crimes against the nation. hahahaha!!! Here is Sri Lankan style of dispensing justice, and I hope foreign governments take note of this miracle.

OK….. So, the system that runs the country must have decided to dismantle the Zionist BBS (Mossad backed agents) and also to dump their Racist Soldier after the debacle of the State Sponsored Digana pogrom which has expose’s of the STF, MPs and other govt linked group’s involvement as captured in the many CCTV clips that are circling around in the web. The Judiciary for their part, have to show the world that the Justice system is functioning as according to the books. The Judiciary is the one which produces and pumps into the system the type of Politicians that are corrupting the very system that they should be protecting. Almost all the past GOVIGAMA MAFIA RULING ELITES had some sort of LAW Degree behind them (The criminals who knows the loopholes to escape punishments)……………………

Gnanasara is punished not for the major sins he committed during the last 3-4 years of the BBS Zionist Project. The “WANDA PETHI” saga that blew into a massive ISLAMOPHOBIA campaign has many lives dead. The Sinhala lad who died at the hospital after he got admitted with a false claim of him getting beaten up, is a FALSE FLAG OPERATION, a conspiracy that GNANASARA/BBS/JHU/Mahasona/SLPP/VIYATH MAGA/UNP/SLFP team coordinated and executed in the same Military Style operation to appease SOME PARTY who are powerful, for a special purpose. It has all the hallmark of the Zionist style that’s been going on all around the world against the MUSLIMS. Its a GOVIGAMA MAFIA’s covert joint operation conducted with the help of the MOSSAD.

OMG, that means Ranjan Ramanayake will also get 19-year rigorous imprisonment.
        .
UNP is dying hard for an election boost to their camp. They are in a competition with Mahinda to win over Muslims. Anyways this will work the opposite way. Meaning, the entire Sangha community and Buddhists will vote against ANY UNP candidate. (Ranil I doubt will contest.)
The second such attempt is via Army. Ranil is abusing the Army Commander for political work. I heard his speech yesterday. He says Tamil diaspora is wealthy and that they should bring down to make investments in Sri Lanka. Well, Tamils in the diaspora are not interested in investing here. They only send money to their loved ones. Those who are interested are LTTE diaspora who are dying to find a way to legalize their black money. That is not what Ranil wants actually.
He is trying to enlarge the Tamil population in the North for opportunistic purposes. He tried this in 2017 through a Cabinet Paper to give voting rights to former IDPs who are now living abroad. Many objected to this. I myself also wrote to the President (via CT) as people overseas should not be allowed to be the decisive factor in elections. It is a violation of civil and political rights of bona fide voters. To his credit, the President stopped it. Now it’s coming through a different channel i.e. Army Commander. He should prevent from making political comments. Army should not be a cat’s paw to UNP.
        .
This is to former President:: You will be the saviour of the entire country, AGAIN. I want you to “discipline” your camp. Their “stupid monkey dance” demoralizes your supporters. You are the heart and soul of Sinhalese. May the Blessings of Sacred Tooth Relic shower upon you!!!

Champa, More than Ranjan it is important to imprison GMOA prez. who also has a contempt of court case against him on a violation of medical ordinance verdict on September 4th. He tried to destroy 1000 SAITM doctors and failed. Now crept into SL Medical Council to destroy the whole aim of the profession, and grab money, power, political strength to topple govt. He and cohort mafia terror is worse than VP as it affects all the innocent poor and sick citizens in hospitals. He is a maraya tp take lives.

Foreign governments should be pissed and rightfully so as the court has made a fool of itself by letting the sentences run concurrently.

The racist MF will serve only a maximum of 6years which is less than one third of the actual sentence and if he gets any leniency for good behavior by being the bitch of some guard more time will be taken off.

Does this look fair to you. 19 years RI should be 19 years RI.

“Gnanasara gets 19 years RI for shouting off his mouth.”

It is very unreasonable that Gnanasara is sentenced to 19 years of rigorous imprisonment when Wimal Sangili Karuupan Weerawansa is being let off scot-free even though he declared “that Parliament must be bombed from above and swiped out of existence if it dared to pass a new constitution as proposed by the present government.”.

      Unacceptable.
What are you going to do?
You know what, Wimal Sangili Karuupan said what he said while Mahinda and Gota were seated on the same stage.

    • 6

      Dear thrishu,
      .
The irony highlighted by you is appalling, yet as I write this, you comment has received 6 Green Likes and 33 Red Dislikes. Why?
      .
My interpretation: We all wish to see corrupt politicians of whatever party punished severely. But it is so difficult.
      .
Gnanasara is not a healthy influence either. This has been a much easier case to prove, so they’ve begun with it. When we start protesting incongruity and make comparisons between cases, we’re going to stop any crime at all from being prosecuted seriously.
      .
Of course that’s not the whole story. Fathima, below, asks, “Am I missing something here?” Yes, of course. Our lawyers, and the courts they operate in, are jealously guarded by the “black coated fraternity”. As Nagananda Kodituwakku and Suganthika Fernando have been telling us, we have good cause to hate the entire set up.
      .
However, we have to balance that distaste with the practical consideration that I started with, PLUS I’m also unsure as to who you are, and what your motives are. Are you merely drawing a red herring across the paths of those who want impartial investigation of all offences? It goes without saying that Fathima and you are both justified in complaining about discrepancies relating to the gravity of offences.

What are you going to do with your hero pimp Wimal Sangili Karuppan Weerawansa who wanted to “bomb Parliament from above and swiped out of existence”?

If there is a will on the part of President and Prime Minister, it is not difficult to send Our former president Mahinda Rajapakse, former Defence Secretary Gotapaya Rajapakse and Economic Minister Basil Gotapaya to the jail because they committed more crimes ( not on war crimes, purely on corruption, mis use of power) than Gnanarasa.

Seriously how many times you have been addressed in even more juicy terms like F*** W*** and C*** by your fellow inhabitants now you share your new life with, in the those Democratic Lands full of Milk & Honey.?…
I have been called that many times even during my short visits.
        And even in Ontario…
And they used an adjective B even in front of the C..
So does it warrant 19 years hard labour?.
Yahapalanaya I thought, is all about getting our inhabitants to be like Western buddies of Dr Ranil.
I think our Judges have to get their firs,t and learn the new terms in the Dialect they use in their daily lives…..

The uneducated monkey in the banana suit did this inside the premises of the court yard thereby the insult was directed not at the individual but the office he held. Which made this a serious offense of “Criminal Contempt”.

“Seriously how many times you have been addressed”
Your still not getting the point. A black guy calling another a Nigger is quite different from a white guy calling a black guy a nigger.

“Seriously how many times you have been addressed in even more juicy terms”

When BBS Gnanasara came out of prisons a couple of months ago he was welcomed with white ‘pavada’ on which flower petals were strewn by his acolytes. This verdict should make them feel like asses. He spoke to the media and said he received the love and affection of not only fellow prisoners but also of prison guards. This time it is hoped the prison guards will show no leniency on him but ensure that Rigorous Imprisonment is exactly that and nothing less. They cant have a society for love and understanding – Lalith Kotelawala style – in prison. The duty of the prison guards is to ensure compliance with court verdicts; not change them as they fancy. Wish you a pleasant stay Gnanasara. It will do your mouth some good. And remember, temper is a precious possession. You shouldn’t lose it.

Poor monk, did all sorts of much more dangerous things and got escape to get caught on simply threatening a woman within a court premises.

This shows the respects Sri Lankan systems offer to a suffering lady and the courts premises that is more than an entire community’s suffering due to the monk.

behaviour in public to go round scot free . Criminal law must have handled
him on more than one occasion on variety of issues but his anti-Muslim

Now aftermath of this “Gnanasara Case”, there is another “Contempt of Court” case filed in against the Chief Minister of the Northern Province – Justice Wigneswaran. This case has been filed by one of the Ministers in the NPC, through which he alleges that the CM Mr. Wigneswaran has violated an “ORDER” given by Courts. Let us see how this case winds its way through the Justice System of Sri Lanka. Very interesting to see an “Ex Supreme Court” Judge called upon to account for “Contempt of Courts”. Will he join Gnanasara?

Happy and sad …. Sad because Gnanasara Thero opened the gate for Islamic Da’wa or preaching. He prepared a Buddhist audience to listen to Islam and made monks to read the most glorious Book of Allah. By this many monks and Buddhists embraced Islam. Many Budxhists started appreciating Islam.
Happy because … I consider his punishment is for insulting Allah and Islam. Its Allah’s way of doing things. Now Buddhists can’t blame Muslims for his RI.

This news report is correct. I think the president hopeful must come out now. YAhapalananya think 69% of sinhala buddhist votes are secondary to minority votes.

Threatening a woman can be justified in the name of national security. Therefore there is no crime committed. The state conspired to arrest a spiritual leader. I heard last time he was in jail ruthless LTTE terrorists sodomised him. May be it is another attempt to put Maha Ven Gnanasara in the same cell with LTTE terrorists

      Jim da Dimwit:
How is threatening a woman a national security issue?

Are you that stupid? This case and sentencing has nothing to do with threatening a woman. The charge is for insulting the court and impeding on the judicial process. Which is a serious offense and the charge was not a simple contempt of court charge like not showing-up to court but criminal contempt of court.
Most of the credit should go to the AG’s dept. They went big and the court could not give a slap on the wrist and allow it slide.
