Gota Goes To The UN

Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and the Rajapaksa regime’s most powerful official has returned to the United States where he is scheduled to hold meetings with United Nations officials in New York.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa

Gotabaya Rajapaksa

The Defence Secretary whose visit to America – where he is a citizen – has remained under wraps, held secret discussions with UN Deputy Secretary General Jan Elisson on Monday (16).

Requests for a briefing about the meeting at UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon’s end of the year press conference were denied citing that read outs were not usually provided for meetings with the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, New York’s Innercity Press reports.

The high level meeting has come as a major shock to UN observers given Gotabaya Rajapaksa‘s role in alleged war crimes haunting the Rajapaksa regime and the allegation by UN experts that 40,000 Tamil civilians were killed in the war’s final months.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa also undertook a top secret visit to New Delhi recently, where he met with Indian National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon and External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid. It was his first visit to New Delhi since taking up the top post in his brother’s administration.

The west and India knows that Gota the Goon is a rather uneducated and illogical person who is incapable of grasping fine tuned legal arguments – about the mounting war crimes evidence and the need for accountability.
Gota who has command responsibility for war crimes and gross HR violations in Lanka is being being given the final warning to come clean and deliver an acceptable investigation or face an evenetual war crimes trial in the Hague..

The Rajapassa regime is losing its grip on the Sinhalaya Modayas and their days are numbered in any case..

The warnings about impending SANCTIONS against the Rajapassa regime in Sri Lanka are coming in thick! From Cameron to Akashi, the Pope to EU and of course the UN and US – Rajapassa will have to come clean or face the music. Gota is being read the riot act on no uncertain terms.. The US is systematic and slow and moving ahead on the matter. Rajapassa will not be able to play ball with the International Community for much longer..

MR Dallying meanwhile with African dictators who also have war crimes on their hands – Uganda’s Museveni and Kenyas’s Uhuru Kenyata and China to counter the gathering international storm over Sri Lanka will go nowhere this time.
Rajapassa will be a scapegoat – caught in the great game between the west and China – let us watch the fun – question is, is the frigging MORONIC Sri Lanka opposition political formation preparing Sri Lankans for the coming storm and international sanctions – to get rid of Rajapassa dictatorship before it destroys Lanka from within and without – since the sanctions are NOT against Sri Lankan people BUT the JARAPASSA corrupt and criminal regime.

Sanctions? That is the matter of the security council and not the matter of Cameron alone.

No, we can put sanctions when we are sure that a regime has committed War Crimes and crimes against Humanity.

Sure he will try to do the sri lankan way , IS he taking a MILLION USD to bribe the UN officer ? to cover up all the BS, WAR crimes , White Van , Killing of Lassantha Wickrematunga, Land Ownership from the North and East , Treason , Drugs, all under his approval. Underworld Gangs under his control ( MAFIA ).

They should send him to the Hague . His family wealth ?

“Trying cover up all the killings. Won’t work.”

He is on a series of pilgrimages, first to Delhi, then to Vatican and now to the USA.

Perhaps he wants to convey a special message to all these countries that he was planning to take over the world on behalf of the Chinese. After winning the LTTE, anything is possible.

Is he trying to sell arms to the world from KP’s floating warehouses?

Have they invited him to see credible war crime evidences?

Has he gone to these countries to just shape up things?

      • 20
        11

        @Native Vedda

The answer to your last question is yes. He has gone to these countries (cap in hand) to try to shape things up.
He and his brother have been playing the fool now for many years with the majority of this country. Their miscalculation was to believe that they could fool the international community with the same ease as they did the locals.

Times they have changed. Major General nightingale Peng, Xi’s wife cannot stand the rajaporkistan familial. Xi himself had to live in caves because his pop a general was imprisoned by the Mouse tse tung. He cannot brush the weak Americans because he is the Jewish/Islamic axis of evil anymore. Same as Tamils going piggy back on SL media and judiciary- see how Camron was very selective in his utterances and visited the press like Boris would do. The Taliban on either has not been wiped out even after 4 years. It will open to fade when Sinhalese accept the cause and the Tamils the symptoms. Both need more than a kicking perhaps a castration.

The UN/US have a lot to ask SL and discussing with MR would only mean GL & Mohan Peris giving a twist under Sajin Gs eye. To avert this stale-mate, collaring/cornering GR, known for his track record in utterances locally, some finality needed for the next UN
resolution as well as the on-going debate in US Congress will
be concluded, is another guess. When GR meets MR with what is
the thinking in the West, some local news can be expected

        Time is up.

No I disagree, Rohana Wijayweera also surrendered to Armed forces and later was executed.

Rohana Wijeweera did not surrender. He was captured hiding with a shaven face somewhere near Deltota, pretending to be a gem merchant. He was a coward who led a huge ill prepared youth brigade to the sacrificial alter. Not worth a shadow of great revolutionary leaders such as ‘Che Guerra”.

Why did the precedence-convention respecting UNO permit high level meetings to a mere Civil servant from floundering Sri Lanka? GR may
have been encouraged to break many AR/FR rules of the Rajapakse Govt of Sri Lanka via his illegal appointment but he should not have been

Gota should stop beating around the bush and start negotiating terms. Terms for transitioning the NE from an SLA administered region, to a UN administered protectorate. In exchange for making this transition peaceful, he should ask for blanket amnesty for all GOSL leaders and SLA personnel.

Governing the NE has turned into such a headache for the GOSL that I wonder if they have realized that it’s just not worth the hassle. Just move out, have a clean break and get on with their lives.

Why cant ANY human rights advocates file a lawsuit against him for crimes against humanity? He is in the lions den… He is also a US citizen tho he may hold diplomatic passport from SL. IF President of World Bank could have been escorted off a plane in NY, there wont be any hardship to get this goon to answer questions and be produced in Hague, along with the siblings….

Don’t let this be another missed opportunity… He has blood in his hands….

Where the heck are the so called Diaspora and the LAWYERS who represent them ?

I this a case of double standards of USA as usual? I wonder…. get him n pin him down… to face justice for all the atrocities he has committed….

It is a good question raised by you both. There is no “time limit” for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and usage of chemical weapons, and the evidence is already in USG/UN/UNHRC hands.

The 4 US citizens who were mostly responsible for the above mentioned crimes are LUCKY that NO Tamil “associations” including the so called Parliament and Senate in “cyber space” have all dropped the ball and have not done anything to file any legal action against the US citizens for the past 5 years. (Even b4 the Mullivaikal massacres/crimes). They are all just talking and walking. This also includes their current and past attorneys and law professors/experts.

The US citizens or Sri Lankans cannot be investigated and tried in the ICC in Hague except under very special circumstances which also includes the UN security council approval. But the US courts have full jurisdiction over US citizens which was the premise under which Tamils For Justice was founded and attorney Bruce Fein was hired in 2007, before it was sabotaged by the Tamils themselves. (Leaders names with held in this response). Even Bruce Fein is fully aware of it, before he joined “Tamils Against Genocide” Tamil Net and TRO, in August 2008, as well as “Justice for Thamils- Toronto.

At the same time, Bruce Fein still lobbies for Turkish authorities that there was no “Genocide” against Armenians 100 years ago.

Let it be not mistaken that eventually Justice will prevail.

The US authorities did not meet the US citizen (GR) nor did the US citizen request any meetings with them. His cousin the ambassador in Washington made noattempts to arrange such meetings.

It is only 70 days more for some action to take effect in UNHRC Geneva initiated by the British, US, and Canadians and there is sufficient support for it. However, every thing depends on the language which will be included in the new resolution for the GOSL to implement their own “Silva report” initiated by the Rajapakses themselves.

Without an credible, independent full investigations on war crimes, and crimes against humanity the whole exercise will be futile and there will be no justice, accountability and the truth emerging during the war against Tamils. Without which there will be no so called reconciliation.

All this is too little too late, but it is better late than never. The Tamil diaspora is also responsible for such lack of action and disappointing effort.

Sri Lal and Leon. Your inquiries are valid and legitimate and not considered offensive. So no worries.
When Tamil diaspora have a Parliament, 134 MP’s, Senate, senators, Prime Ministers, cabinet members, law professors and legal eagles including our very own attorney, TAG, Tamil Net, TRO, Thamil Sangams, CTC, USTPAC, TAPI, BTF, GTF and other associations TFJ decided to defer to them since they all wanted the “action, name and fame” they so desired desperately.

However, it has now taken them over 5 years and the still collectively haven’t reached the first base yet. That is so sad and disappointing for us @ TFJ.

Furthermore, legal action also takes a lot of resources which I admit collectively for the 1 Million Tamil diaspora is a very small sum. TFJ does not want to swim against the Tamil tide and have stood on the side lines to see how all above perform on the legal front in US courts. This can be easily done but lacks leadership and vision which is sadly missing.

The bottom line for TFJ is the resources and do not want to be involved in passing the hat around. 100,000 Tamil lives and the current torture, rape, mistreatment is a heavy price to pay. The sooner the Tamils who are fattening themselves with the Rajapakse groceries, and Sri Lankan tourism, realize the consequences they will eventually see the light.

Sri Lanka, to protect a few war criminals including 4 US citizens are paying a heavy price as a whole, and do not want the prosperity and peace of a Singapore or Malaysia.

One result of Gota meeting with deputy UNSG in NY.
                Quote”

We had a systemic failure in SL-UN Dy Chief
                FRIDAY, 20 DECEMBER 2013 11:37 E-mail Print

The United Nations said that it had a systemic failure of the UN system in Sri Lanka as a whole.

Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson briefing journalists in New York about the new “Rights up Front” initiative said: “You may recall in the IRP [Internal Review Panel] Report on Sri Lanka, that we had a systemic failure of the UN system as a whole and that we need to show greater flexibilities and come up with speedier action.” Mr. Eliasson stressed, echoing his remarks to an informal meeting of the General Assembly earlier this week.

There, he told delegations that the Panel’s report, issued last year, also concluded that the UN Secretariat, its funds and programmes, were not given the support they needed to carry out the responsibilities which the Member States had set out for the Organization.

The goal of the new initiative, he said, is to ensure that past UN failures are not repeated, such as its inability to have prevented genocide in Rwanda, where at least 800,000 ethnic Tutsis and politically moderate Hutus were killed during a span of three months in 1994, and in Srebrenica, where at least 6,000 Muslim men and boys in a UN protection zone were massacred in 1995 during the wars in former Yugoslavia. Donald, I respectfully differ with you on your stand that There is no “time limit” for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and usage of chemical weapons, and the evidence is already in USG/UN/UNHRC hands.

There have been numerous instances where the world body has taken action against leaders for excesses committed, both overtly and covertly to remove. Here, with all the evidence available including Ch 4, why no action has been initiated or even questioned, leaves doubt in many a mind whether it is not a case of a cover up to conceal their own hand of assistance rendered, because there is no other rational explanation in view. It is certainly a case of Justice being delayed to deny Justice to so many, who perished and their families living. It is a damn disgrace to say the least. When are these do gooders intending to mete Justice? After the villains are dead and gone?

The excuses trotted out are so lame and the Silence of the Peers are so deafening. I am reminded here the Police not taking action in matters, when it suits them claiming there is no official complaint. But when they want to they act the Judge and Jury both and dispose the bodies even without postmortems.

“Got-a-baya” Gotha is really scared of the next UN Human Rights council meeting and is trying his best to tell UN that they are taking action without publicizing it to the masses in Sri Lanka. Further he is trying to persuade UN not to take action until the next Presidential election so that his brother when he wins will implement the LLRC proposals. What UN has to do is to insist that a National Government to be formed in Sri Lanka and the National Government should be responsible in implementing the LLRC proposals. Further the 18th amendment has to be scrapped. Only these conditions should allow time to Rajapakse regime to continue without sanctions.
