While chaos ensued in the country yesterday as mobs took to the streets expressing solidarity with Rathana thera’s fast, Gotabaya Rajapaksa has cleverly utilized the distraction to stay back in Singapore although he was ordered by Court to return to the island on June 2.

President’s Counsel ALi Sabry appearing before the three judge bench hearing D. A. Rajapaksa Museum case, informed yesterday that his client has not been able to return to the country on June 2 as ordered by the Bench, due to alleged medical check ups continuing.
Gotabhaya had requested permission to travel abroad for medical reasons and was authorized to travel from May 27 until June 2.
The Bench however ordered the case up for hearing on June 19 proceed as planned.
Gotabhaya and seven others have been charged with the misappropriation of Rs. 33.9 million worth state funds that were allegedly used to construct the D. A. Rajapaksa Museum.

The PEOPLE of Sri Lanka must know that the “SUPPOSED” to be “PRESIDENT”? will always be on “Medical Treatment” in Singapore and avoid local Medical Treatment. The narrative would be “For the ELITE medical treatment abroad and for “Local F…..s” local treatment. The real reason to be in Singapore is not “Medical”. Recently the Singapore SC delivered a Judgement against Avant Guard ordering it to pay US$ 5 million to Rakna Lanka. No wonder GOTA got suddenly sick and rushed to Singapore. The other reason could be to “POSTPONE” the hearing of the clear cut case against him at Special Courts. He and his Lawyer are doing every thing possible to get these cases against him “POSTPONED”. In this particular case in Special Courts whereby GOTA was given leave to go to Singapore for “Medical Treatment”, I hope the courts would call for a report from the Doctors who treated him to ascertain that he did receive such treatment. AG must insist on that production.
