Sri Lanka’s controversial former secretary to the ministry of defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa has come forward to help rescue the country from its current administration.

Addressing Sri Lankans living in Japan via Skype, Gotabaya yesterday said that, “if mistakes were made we should learn from them and help Sri Lanka recover from its current fallen state, and I am happy to help rescue this country,” he told the forum.
He also denied any connections with the Bodu Bala Sena, saying it was due to these false rumours that his brother, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa lost the election as Muslims voted against him.
“I can categorically state that neither did Mahinda Rajapaksa, the government or I worked in any way to bring injustice to the Muslims and Tamils in Sri Lanka,” said Rajapaksa, who takes credit for the war win against the LTTE and also have been embroiled in the white van abduction saga.

In my childhood days, we had a Karapincha tree on a corner of OUR PARENTs garden. Tree stem was fully affected by a rare kind of parasites however, we could still have unaffected branches which provided us with healthy leaves. For daily use our mother and the neigbours relied on the leaves.
Current politics of the country is similar to the VIRAL affected Karapincha tree – we have to protect the tree if we are dependent on the healthy branches. Similarly, president of the country is caught by the situation not being able to drive away the most virulent candidates within the party. If we cut the tree and remove it fully, nothing would have helped any of us. But on the west, people being knowledgble, the situation would have been much easier.

How come any lankens would agree to give the country to any colonical masters ?
Actually, on one hand he should be okay, since those were the days they brought almost everything to this country. Since independence, not even few percent has been done by own folks and their representatives.
Roads are not done by Rajapakshes, but by the previous govt – started them and Rajakashes had to continue -thought the fruits and credit were grabed by Raja.
Like Lotus show off tower was started by Raja and the current govt has to bring that to the end.
All in all, Meeharaka Rajaakshe did all huge wastful things that would bring nothing but we the tax payers have to bear the burden.

If he had any concerns of his motherland Gotabaya should have stopped his blind brother Mahinda Rajapakse from abusing the office of the Executive President to meddle with the Supreme Law of the Land, the Constitution, enabling him to contest for a further term.
I am sure people are fed up with Yahapalana Group of Companies; but it is very unlikely that people will forget the worst crimes MR Group committed against the Nation.

Just shouting asking to return the looted funds will not work. Even after 15 months the government is unable to find even 1 million rupees. So it is becoming obvious that alk those claims are nothing but propaganda.
On the other hand can you find a single parliamentarian who has not abused the position. Other wise why do they put so much effort and money to get elected. They all get rich very quickly and even send the children to UK for higher studies (including the current president). One may wonder is a government salary is enough to do that. So rather than blaming individuals it is important to look at this cancer in our society and find a solution to it.

Do the Indian middle classes realize what they have done by electing a prime suspect in genocidal acts?
