Greedy Politicians Won’t Make A Comeback, Their Dreams Will Remain Dreams: Sirisena

President Maithripala Sirisena has expressed its utmost shock over the greed for power by certain politicians.

MaithripalaIn an interview broadcasted on local television channels, Sirsena said, “I am shocked as to how low some stoop purely for their greed for power. They keep claiming that the current government is unstable and hence they are asking to run the government,” he said.

According to the President, this was purely an act of political bankruptcy because these power hungry politicians are not even supported by the majority of the public. “They can keep dreaming, but their dreams for power will remain only dreams,” Sirisena said.

According to the President, ever since the blackouts certain politicians have been insisting that they be given the government to run, and have assured that they will not keep the country in darkness for even an hour. “We all know it’s not the politicians who are running the Ceylon Electricity Board, but it is run by a group of able engineers, and this is a technical issue, and as a government we can only provide them with the necessary resources to ensure such an issue does not repeat,” Sirisena added.

He went on to say that under his leadership there is true freedom and democracy. “Today if you go to the internet, most of the attacks are against me, but whoever who attacks me is safe as there is no white vans to take away the critics, nor will their vehicles go up in flame,” Sirisena said, while adding that under his administration, freedom has been given to everyone to criticize anyone.

RE: Greedy Politicians Won’t Make A Comeback, Their Dreams Will Remain Dreams: Sirisena

Let’s make theit dream come true. Give Each Greedy Polititian

1,. 1/2 Acre of Paddy Field. Good exercise too.

      2. A Fishing Boat.

That way they will be busy. If they are greedy, they can catch fish in the vast Indian Ocean before the Indians Catch the Fish.

They can export the fish to Europe and get money to but luxury cars.

      Everybody will be happy!

Brain goes only as far as cut & paste OR in few others repetitive words only , nothing else.

Dear President, all right thinking ones would support you further. Let those estranged monks to utter their low level comments, I would also do the same even if I moved to Europe long ago, If I had the chance, I would eat on KEHEL KOLA wrapped bath packet. Why should we change to abuse the tax payers funds. If this comes from monks, they should be ashamed to be monks really. You are so humble and already showed how much you could save if you would set it an example. These are the real value, my dear president. If the statesmen cant set example, how can the society be built accordingly.

Setting an example by saving peoples money is a good thing and an example to others who follow. Mr.President the main reason why people sent MR home is because of the abuse of power and robbing.

In your case if you are to be rejected it will be due to incompetance and inability to get your ministers to carry out work for the all people of this country in most instances they look like fools as they say one thing then go back on what they have told the parliment. You Have over 100Ministers of various rank!
The government has increased taxes but you allow politicians who are the biggest crooks get duty free cars and allowances leaving the majority of our fellow country men 70-80% who dont even have one meal a day.Even the Private sector will never give such exhobitant allowance.

        2

        SB@,

why him to be rejected ?

He is thought executive prez, parliament is given more powers to act accordingly.
Besides, RW to do the job if you compare it with that of former president.
In the previous regime, Prsident Rajaakshe with his siblings got everything passed letting cabinet ministers be mum with their both ends shut.

Currently President though have powers within the constituion, he has allowed Parliament to function in terms of taking decisions for the country. So, RW as the HEAD OF cabinet shold be accoutable for if anything would go wrong not Prez.

And it is comparable to Germany s president or wiliam gopallawa style presidency… they only take part in shaping up and guide the system to work smoothly. Like the speech given by President to the press today, – is I think is timeworthy.. to explain where we have been standing…

With MR and Company looking for ways to eliminate the thrusts of the Investigations against them, these BMW’s are not for LUXURY but they are ARMOR PLATED and is supposed to PROTECT the occupants. Our President and Prime Minister need MAXIMUM protection. So please dont belittle the steps taken to protect them.

I have no doubt that you could be one who dealt the stolen gold business with Shirathi the iti gediya. THere were rumouers in the country that the lady was handling gold business with some colombo shiki mikey ladies.

This is the reason why you utter the kind of iditotic thoughts.

If yo have got eyes, the way that President and RW flew to other countries .. shold be clear to you guys… they used just normal flights… unlike Meeharaka then did… knowing all is bankrupt related to SRILANKEN, Meeharaka used srilanken as if it was his air taxi -pvt jet… there you farted away and did nothing. You are shameless people of this country.

Yes Those pingutthara monks may even add thoughts that nobody would get easily, they have no values, just men hidden behind safron robes. I would never respect them- them to add ” President Sirisena does not know how to behave like a president”. Those men in robes have gone all wrong not knowing the very good example set by former President who abused the office as no any devleopoing state leaders would ever do. Today the heaps of Kakka left by Rajaakshes should be removed and cleaned by the current regime. They let extrements heaps up going through their so irrespeonsible tactics… now to put the blame on the current regime for their messy management is beyond all ethics and morals.

In lanken universities also I met the guys of nature similar to this ballah. They are so jealous at others.

Why to call the great man again and again Ballah is painful.

Prez. Sirisena sacrificed his life to save the nation from Dogs. That is the truth. Even today, he could behave the way that Jarapakshe did… but he has relinquished his powers to strenghten and restore democracy in the country. If anyone would say, that nothing is done to feel to the skin.. that should be the great lie. Or all of them should be no different ot wild animals.
All forms of criticisms are there today. PM is being attacked,Pre. is being attacked. Others are too being attacked. None of them are above the law. Was this the case at the time Meeharaka ran his amok ?

Mr. President: I think the “TIME” has come (I am no astrologer to tell you of time)for you to get back those “Executive Powers” and bring in your “Yahapalanaya” that still remains a “Dream”. If not, you too will wake up after a FALL from that “COMFY BED”. Even though I am not an “Astrologer” that prediction made with “Samma Dhitti” will definitely happen and those “Greedy Politicians” will emerge and tear you to pieces. So it is time to WAKE UP.

Really? So then what is your minister of Justice and Religion talking about monks being exempt from criticism by virtue of the new constitution??

Greed for power is a sickness. Take the unnecessary privileges and power away from the ministers and retain only the power to make policies. The rest of the management power should be vested with statutory bodies. None of those greedy will like to sight the place other than professionals who could rebuild the state.

The simple answer to your question is “because Sirisena is a fkg liar”.

  • 8
    6

If you agree with him or not, one has to admit that Sirisena is a decent man; not a crook. He is not a barefaced liar.

    • 3
      0

Nimal, although Sirisena may not be a “crook”, he IS proving to be “a barefaced liar” if you look back on the promises he made when he wanted our votes. The promises are too many to reproduce here, but I’m sure you will be able to figure them out.

      • 3
        0

        Lie Detector,

“he IS proving to be “a barefaced liar” if you look back on the promises he made when he wanted our votes. The promises are too many to reproduce here, but I’m sure you will be able to figure them out.”

Well, there is some truth in what you say; I can’t deny.

But, I don’t doubt Sirisena’s intentions; he wants the best for the country.

Mahinda is still very popular among the people and more importantly with the grassroots of the SLFP as he can win elections. UPFA would not have got 95 seats in the last general election if not for Mahinda. Due to Mahinda’s popularity Sirisena has to walk a tight-rope. Unfortunately, most of Sirisena’s moves are not what’s best for the country but just ploys to keep Mahinda at bay. If Mahinda falls dead (not that I’m wishing) tomorrow, the whole situation in SL will change instantly. Siresena and Ranil would have been able to fulfil at least some of their promises – it would be naive of us to believe that politicians in any country always fulfil all their promises.

Unfortunately, similar to Prabakaran holding the fate of the country in his hands for 30 years, today Mahinda is holding the fate of the country in his hands. You may not agree with me, but I don’t think Mahinda has the best interest of the country at heart; he just wants a future for his offspring. Well, he could have given them a real education to have the ability to go out and earn a honest living like millions of other hard working Lankans. Why should any Lankan be more “equal” than others?

Thanks for the note.. as one living outside and wish all the best to see Rajaakshe free world, I will start pray manthra MR meet with all kind of health problems.. so that he could leave the land allowing them to prosper.. No pol smashing but other kind of witch hunting can help to get rid of this bugger.

          • 3
            0

Lanken minorities should start smashing coconut seeking witch hunt to drive away Rajapakshe and thugs in their groups. If this woul dnot happen next, people will have to be very worried of their lives.

Buruwanse should be smashed into pieces in order to stop him from low level utterances. He is a curse srilanka as a whole. No educated people should ever say yes to the bugger… he should be jailed to the very same manner as Gunaratnem is convicted today.

I do agree with you Nimal, it was just that I wanted to point out that Maithri has not fulfilled the hopes we had in him.

I’m also aware of the delicacy of the balancing act’ he is performing, but he has made too many poor decisions to revive the faith I had in him. What’s more, his order to the local media to not publish reports on his moronic son’s escapades doesn’t reflect well on his already tarnished armour.

What Sri Lanka desperately needs now is not a decent men, barefaced crook or liar, but a competent leader. Decency is not a part of that qualification. In a country like SL decency has never paid, is not paying and will not pay because why ???????? Sri lankans have never understood the meaning of decency. The majority of grass eating sri lankans have never been blessed to experience decency. You can’t offer good cognac to a kassipu drinker because the grass eater has no etiquette in knowing how to drink cognac.
Thare are many good decent people but few competent people and MS is not of the competent few. As a matter of fact best known to him he is marking time and in that time he will reap his reward and bow out. The grass eaters will continue to chew the cud, kasippu drinkers will have their fill, robbers will rob, looters will loot, the evil will continue to bring more curses upon the land, buffaloes will roam around in china shops destroying the fragile heritage and life will go on.
You think MS cares a hoot. No he does not care.
You think RW cares a hoot. No he does not care.
You think ralahamy or appu singho cares a hoot. No they dont care.
You think mudalali cares a hoot. No he does not care.

It is only citizen silva who cares a hoot but who cares for him, nobody.

Sri lankans had better modify the song ” Don’t cry for me Argentina ” to ” Don’t cry for me Sri Lanka ” and better sing it in a drunken stupor to drown their sorrows. God help you all.

You said a mouthful….Sira’s decency was seen though his SONS actions.
Saw him barge onto the stage at the Royal-Thomian…
THAT SPEAK VOLUMES OF HIS UP BRINGING BY HIS PARENTS.
sIRISENA NEED TO BUY A TIN OF BOOT POLISH FOR HIS SON AND GIVE HIN 50 CENTS TO TAKE A HAIR-CUT. It was damn disgraceful…

Then used the foreign Ministry letters to get British visa for (02) of his friends who have flouted the Law.

Banana Leaf story is all thrash. Saw him feeding birthday cake to ranil with a fork.

      thondamanny,

“Sira’s decency was seen though his SONS actions.”

Can the decency of the father be judged by the son’s behaviour?

My father was a very decent man, but at Sirisena’s son’s age I was worse than his son; a real rascal. But Intelligent people were sophisticated enough to discern the two.

I don’t play partisan politics; I appreciate good qualities of anyone.

My opinion of Sirisena is in comparison to our former president Mahinda. Can you give one single occasion where a Rajapakse has ever told the truth? Just one occasion! And I am sure you don’t want me to tell you about Mahinda’s sons.

” Banana Leaf story is all thrash. Saw him feeding birthday cake to ranil with a fork.”

This comment is so silly as a gauge to judge a man’s decency. I can’t stop laughing.

      Have a nice day.

        Nimal,
it is like you are talking to the deaf.

These idiots have problems in differentiating good and bad. That is the basics.
In a country every 2nd is being pro corruption and abuses, no doubt those would prefer Mahinda Rajakashe to rule them.

But the minority folks that seek respect, dignity of life, law and order above everything, press freedom, no abuses from head of state, will love and hold high .. President Sirisena as their leader. He must not be a graduate of Oxford or Cambridge or any other top level University. He must not speak foreign langague. So long the noble man represent the decent, I hail him.. I always love to listen to his speeches since he covers almost every facets while addressing any issue. Dr. Merkel from EU is also comparable to Prez Sirisena. She began at the time, former Chanzellor called her ” she was incompetent”. But today, Dr Merkel is the leader for EU. Germany s lead EU so long Dr Merkel is in power. Even these leaders respect Mr. Sirisena a lot. Mahinda is being respected by Swaziland and Belarus .. or by former Lybia man -Gadafi… who else.. of course lanken idiots that would bleieve any thing and everyhting not thinking twice, gawky naive folks born to let destroy the nation.

An excellent interview that I am sure explained very complex issues in simple and understandable language. This was a good effort at communicating with the public directly. I hope such structured interviews with the president and prime minister are monthly events. This give the government the opportunity to explain issues and progress to the people. However. progress should also be palpable to the people.’

DrRN, President is so cool in his speeches. He focuses on all facets. No means comparable to those of MR. If one would analyse his speeches, over 80% he avoid attacking anyone the way MR does. He keep it with the facts and examples from the past. Not falling to personnel attacks. These are real good qualities of a great leader.

“I am shocked as to how low some stoop purely for their greed for power.” (And money)

Of course Sirisena need not stoop when Kumarasinghe is doing all the stooping to collect the jarawa for the family. He made him Chairman of SLT amidst much drama and without wasting a single ‘precious’ minute only for that purpose. Case of Pot calling the Kettle black!

You make me sick Sirisena. You set the precedent to absorb “malevolent brothers”, the last one being that thief Ranatunga.

  • 1
    1

It is you who is making those dreams a reality. You could have easily made MR politically irrelevant but you cannot get your government in order. There is something new everyday. Economy is collapsing, crime rate is going up, taxes are up, promises were broken, professionals are ignored, farmers are ignored, jumbo cabinet, nepotism still a thing and now suicide jackets. Can anybody really say who is the leader of the country? There is no one voice coming from the government and it confuses everybody.

It is about time you stop blaming everything on MR and start working. Investigate all the corruptions and other misdeeds and make arrests without staging media circuses. People wants to see actions not mere words.

Speaking of Greedy Politicians – here’s something about them:

Two crocodiles were sitting at the side of the swamp near the lake.
The smaller one turned to the bigger one and said, “I can’t understand how You can be so much bigger than me.
We’re the same age; we were the same size as kids. I just don’t get it.”
“Well,” said the big Croc, “what have you been eating?”
“Politicians, same as you,” replied the small Croc.
“Hmm. Well, where do you catch them?”
“Down the other side of the swamp near the parking lot by the Capitol.”
    “Same here.
Hmm. How do you catch them?”
“Well, I crawl up under one of their Lexus cars and wait for one to unlock the car door.
Then I jump out, grab them by the leg, shake the shit out of them and eat ’em!”
“Ah!” says the big Crocodile, “I think I see your problem.
You’re not getting any real nourishment.
See, by the time you finish shaking the shit out of a Politician,
there’s nothing left but an asshole and a briefcase.

MR and allies played vital role of Unity and Sovereignty of Sri Lankan during 9 years his rule and governances.

Of cause MR is not socialist, but his act of democratic way he has been contribution to national Independence, Sovereignty and Democracy is crucial movement in our modern political history after 1948.

Defeated of Tamil- LTTE chauvinist and terrorist has been great leaf forward for Rights to Road Voters are eligible to elected their rulers by ballot not by bullet in an Island.

Sri Lankan type of anarchism and terrorism play that anti-democratic politics since 1965 by founding JVP anarchist outfit in south.
Over the two third after independent time wast for eliminated Terrorism, by result of that our Air, Land and Soil were polluted by gun rule politics and environment of society spoiled mainly by political terrorism LTTE and JVP .

We were living mercy of anarchism and Terrorism of North and South. The Sri Lankan pattern of Democracy was weak and about to lost its ground foundation and its leads to moribund that system of order had been established since 1948; the ruling parties ,leaders and vacillations policies was visionless they have no idea where to, what to do?

Not a single writer has elaborated and revealed that facts cost of life and cost of damage to our people during 50 years of political terrorism. There are some writing on these issues are few and isolated but not the whole picture on correct analysis of lost of democratic to nation and people of our country has been written by elites.

Few in line of writers that stories are not political analysis and they ignore social that impact to our democracy of Lanka.

I noted lank web .com. Ms Senile Waduge is emerging writer having potential to feed back and enlighten our nation, what they want learn past for their future politics of democracy.

That is historical fact cannot denied by any right thinking persons. MS is talking that political nonsense that past cannot repeated by MR line of politics again that his fear of MR will come back is day of his fear.

Even MR back to power he is not going repeated same errors of by his politics ,that will not permitted by democratic politics and their forces.

MS has to learn politics not from SLFP of CBK or current UNP leaders in power with you; that the objective situation is far from different of your line of thinking; learn on living reality on local and Global situation politics is the turning point and important for the future of People of Sri Lankan.
