No one in the dole queues that day. Nor were there any asylum seekers in the points. How many Tamil journalists can you see in the fronts holding out the banners?

Remember what the same man, Mahendra Percy Rajapakse did in the 1980s. He took a similar campaign to Geneva. His own brother seems to have had a hand in the killing of many Sinhalese boys on behalf of the government Percy was arguing against! ‘Sinhala Buddhist’, are you, Nodrog??

I hope all the Tamil Diaspora members are enjoying their stay in Britain, because surely you don’t seem to be interested in helping your Tamil brothers and sisters in Sri Lanka. You are only armchair A/C room pathetic bunch. Not doing anything but wasting time to secure YOUR own survival in Western Countries.

They are rightfully doing for us Tamils IN sri lanka. We do not need money. We need freedom. That is what they are doing for us. Freedom from the Sinhala racist army which killed 100,000 of Inncoent Tamils and continuing to rape our women, grab our land and trying to annihialte the tamil race. You with the sinhala racist mentality can not see it living in sri lanka. They can see it through even though they are thousand of miles away, DO not shed crocodile tears for us. We, Tamils know what we want from our bretheren who had means of escaping this horrible land. We are happy for them. We are thankful for them that they are doing now that we can not do show opposition against this murderorus govt of Rajapakse backed by racist like you

Raja, what a load of crock! What freedom do you refer to that the rest of Sri lankans don’t enjoy? Where did you get the figure of 100,000??? It used to be 10,000 so you have just added a zero to make it look more impressive? Did you complain when prabha raped, killed and tortured tamil women and children, did you raise your voice when he stole from tamils and took their properties?? What has the diaspora done for tamils in SL other than use their name to raise monies to maintain their luxury life-styles abroad. And you, like a bloody goat sing hosannas to them. The only racists here are people like you who refuse to assimilate with the other communities.

“What has the diaspora done for tamils in SL”

So you think Tamils dont send money back to their relatives? Do you think of us collectively as heartless robots who refuse to help our kin when they ask for assistance?

“raise monies to maintain their luxury life-styles abroad. “

Indeed as opposed to the ruling family who certainly dont plunder the public purse to build and name vast monuments after Mahinda

“racists here are people like you who refuse to assimilate with the other communities.”

Let me educate you to a basic standard as you are spending too much time with the Bodu Sena. Racism means having an irrational hatred of another ethnic group and assigning generalised characteristics to them as if they not capable of individual thoughts. Therefore under this definition you quality as a racist against Tamils. Being proud of one’s culture, religion and language whilst also accepting the presence of others is not racism (even if some mad buddhist monks and their supporters think it is)

Thanks for your standard replies usually issued by the LTTE cheering squad. Go collect your pocket-money now that you’ve done your little part and defended the ideals of a defunct group. The sooner you get rid of the chip on your shoulder because your hero prabha was killed in a mud-hole the faster you will realize what morons you lot were to believe you would ever achieve your mythical eelam. If you are so proud of your culture how come you did not protest when educated tamils were butchered by prabha, innocent children were conscripted and women were brutally killed????
I’m no racist! I have 2 tamil BILs and more tamils friends and I love them dearly…its the bigoted ones like you I despise. Get a life you idiot. As far as I’m concerned you don’t exist…so don’t bother replying!!!

Agreed with Trehan. Same here in Aus. These dispora efforts won’t do any good to the fellow Tamils in Sri Lanka, but just the harm. These will cultivate hate between the two affected nations.

The time has come for Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse to sit down and take stock.4 years has passed since finishing the war and getting more than 280000 Tamils released from the terrorists. Y’ day the Tamils in London spoke about the so called killings of Tamils during the war.

1.What has the Sri Lankan high commission done to educate the public of UK about the humanitarian operation the Sri Lankan forces has carried out in 2009 to release the poor Tamils from the terrorists .

2.Have they highlighted that the British Tamil diaspora has not even send a penny to help the released poor hostages. (they were made poor by the terrorists).
3 The peace loving Sri Lankans have demonstrated in London against the LTTE in the past. Since 2010 election that Sri Lankan ,Sinhalese diaspora has gone silent. When the Tamil terrorist were active at the Olympics, and other events there were no counter demonstrations from the others.
4.Is Mr.Rajapakse aware that appointing unqualified friends and people who donate large sums of money and his relations in foreign missions has failed to protect the name of the country they are appointed to protect.?
5.Mr.Rajapakse is the only one spoke about the humanitarian operation Y’day while all his ambassadors were sleep.
6.Mr.Mahinda Rajapakse, please think what is going on ?.You got KP, Karuna and the other terrorists sitting with you to help you to bring harmony between communities. Is this tactic working or are they taking you for a ride, while supporting their international wing to get into full swing?.
7.There are only three leaders in Sri Lanka, the people of Sri Lanka will trust with keeping the territorial integrity of the country. I am happy to say that you are one of them.
I think we cannot go on like this. The time has come for all Sri Lankans to unite and heal all the differences we had and fight the enemy before it raise its head. To start that it is your duity to correct the wrongs you have done to General Sarath Fonseka and give all what you have taken from him back and give his civic rights .Then only will the nation join together and put the last nail in the coffin of the LTTE and its diaspora. watching at what is going on make me sad.
    Hope you will take note.

You expect us Sri lankan Tamisl to join you sinhala racist while all you cheered whiel your racist army killed 100,000 innconet Tamils. Do not say that it wa sthe reaction to LTTE. LTTE is the reaction to your state terrorism that started in 1958 and continued till 1983 and worsened in th guise of defating LTTE and still continuing with rape of Tamiel women grab of our land. Tamisl in Colombo bought their land from the money they made from hardwork not a gift from the government grabing it form the lawful owners of it.

Grabbing the land in Colombo by hard work they do (Credit card scam, Money laundering, prostitution, people smuggling ) we know how hard that way to earn the money but legitimate government in SL has right to obtain any land in any parts of SL

We don’t need any proves. Your words speak for who are the racists/haters. People like you do all the harm for the general innocent Tamil people who lives and/or like to live in peace with others. Don’t try to anatagonize the 2 nations and dig your (peoples)own pit. Hard work or money from diaspora?

      Agree.

Sri Lanka’s Ministry of External Affairs is a terrible faliure.

Packed with political cronies and henchmen from all political parties.

Except a few Diplomats, hardly any others have skills, knowledge and patriotism required to stand up for Sri Lanka in corridors of power abroad.

Appointing useless idiots to Sri Lanka’s Foriegn Service based on their connections to Rajapassa clan is nothing but a grave crime against our country.

“Sri Lanka’s Ministry of External Affairs is a terrible faliure.”

        I beg to disagree.

Sri Lanka as a whole is a terrible failure. Ministry of External Affairs is only a component.

        It is not surprising.

The Tamils diaspora are not interested in the truth if it makes them looks ridiculous racial idiots. They make money from scams and then fill the campaign funds of all the major parties. So Cameron will come over and say what he has to without mentioning that the middle east is in upheaval because of British Politics and that Guantanamo prisoners are being held even after they were found “not guilty” of any offence. He will not say that his friend Barak Obama does not want to respect the Human Rights of the Arab and Muslim people. Britain does not either but then the white man and the man playing the “white man” need to show that they can lecture every one who does not belong to NATO.

      Dr. Wijebadu,

      Well said.

In addition to the Double Standards and discrimination going on, there are a lot of other EXTERNAL undercurrents from the WEST going in right now.

Here are some issues, some with historical roots others recent with the aid of external players for their own self-interest.

BBS are agents of Norway, Tamil Christians, and Christian Fundamentalists from the West?

Here is the data in support of that. Go to Norway, USA and meet Tamil Christians funded by Norway and the West.

Question? Who is Funding and Promoting the BBS?

Answer: Who has to gain from this?
      1. Norway, West, USA, some others.
      2. Christian Fundamentalists and Other Christians.
      3. Sinhala Buddhist Chauvinists.
      4. Sinhala Buddhist Traders
      5. Tamil Christians.
      6. The current regime.

Who Loses: The Sinhala Buddhist people, the Muslim People, and the country as whole.

Western role in the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) of Sri Lanka
      Posted on May 18th, 2013
      by Anura Alahakone, USA
It is well-known that US has taken a lead role in combating, and sometimes fostering Islamic extremism in many parts of the world. Its support for the Taliban in Afganistan by arming them against the Soviets is well known. The US has also supported Islamic groups to create tension is some African states to counter other tendencies.

In many of these moves, and in some of its UN lobbying, the US uses third parties to cover its hand. Norway has figured prominently as one of the not-so-hidden hands of Western foreign policy in this regard. Canada and Britain have figured in extraordinary renditions of prisoners who were whisked away for torture by US agents operating in other countries.

In Sri Lanka, Western policy was directed through the secessionist politics of the Tamil Nationalism. This provided a stage for global capitalism to move in, with Ranil Wickremasinghe and Chandrika Kumaratunga willing partners. However, this agenda was thwarted by the rise of the Rajapaksa government which exploited the growing anger of the majority of the country that realized that the carpet is being pulled from under them, with the sovereignty and decision making in the country passing into the hands of Norway, Japan, India and internationally funded NGOs.

Rajapaksa used a policy of dividing up the opposition and offering perks to woo support, to bring most of the Sinhala polity as well as the Muslims behind him. Using a large cabinet to shield the weakness of his minority government, Rajapaksa won a war that had been declared `un-winnable’ by the West which funded the Tamil Tigers, and harboured individuals like Anton and Adele Balasingham who openly supported programs declared by the UN to be crimes against civil societies.

Western analysts realized that until and unless the Sinhala polity is divided, the Western program cannot go ahead. The Tamil nationalist program thrived in the last three decades only because the Sinhalese were divided equally between the United National party (center right) and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (center left). The US keeps track of Islamic groups and knew of the Wahabist-Islamic incursions in Sri Lanka, and the growing resentment against it among certain nationalist sections of the Sinhalese.

The strategists in the Pentagon invoke their standard formula for situations like this. It lines up its defense establishment with the defense establishment of the target country (Sri Lanka), and gets one of its henchmen (e.g., Norway) to support the anti-Islamic radical groups at a variety of levels. This has been done not only by the so-called “one-shot” support given to the BBS, but also by giving financial aid to selected Buddhist temples. This is the standard approach to buying up political support where there is none.

In effect, the West needs a Buddhist NGO in Sri Lanka, just as it needed an Islamic NGO in Afghanistan against the Soviets. However, here it is playing a more subtle game, check-mating the Wahabi Islamists in Sri Lanka, gaining support from a section of Buddhists, while alienating and diminishing the power of the Jathika-Hela Urumaya that led the vanguard against Norway at Mavil Ara, and actually fielded Buddhist monks at Sri Lankan elections. Thus the rise of the BBS fits in very well with the strategy of the West.

However, some members of the Rajapaksa government, as well as some leaders of the Buddhist political program are clever strategists. They have realized that they too can use (the covertly western-supported) anti-Islamism of the BBS to their own advantage in winning back some of the assets that have been encroached upon by Islamist expansion. This is of course a popular move among the Sinhala nationalist merchant class which is prepared to compromise on Buddhist teachings for a bit more of Buddhist hegemony.

Sri Lankan Buddhists do not have a strong moral figure like the Dalai Lama who successfully maintained the Tibetan effort against China on the high moral road for many decades. Now, the Dalai Lama has retired from that struggle and how it will spiral onwards is any-body’s guess. The Dalai Lama has expressed his sadness about the events in Sri Lanka and Burma, but it is easy to dismiss him as being mis-informed. Indeed, he is not informed about these events per se. He is making his statements based on the general principles of Buddhism that demand that every matter be solved by discussion, compromise and compassion, without violence. That is the high moral road that the Buddha indicated to the Lichchavi kings in regard to governance, some 26 centuries ago, with his seven rules.

The BBS is a militant group which in effect implies that Buddhist principles have to be re-enforced by strong-arm tactics. Some church fathers as well as Western anti-Islamists who have been irked by Islam’s inroads all over the world are delighted by the new developments. They don’t have to openly sully their hands!

The withdrawal of Muslim support from the Rajapaksa government is also attended with glee by Western strategists who noted how Rajapaksa had used such support in UN fora for thwarting international sanctions against his government.

The western NGOs that existed in Sri Lanka so far have been headed by Tamils, Christians, or noted international wheeler-dealers. If the BBS can become a Southern Sinhalese NGO that can be manipulated by the West, an immediate objective of the West would be achieved.

However, some of the leaders of the BBS may prove to be artful individuals who may not necessarily tow the line of the West, just as the Taliban NGOs created in Afghanistan by the West some decades ago morphed into anti-Western agents. However, the Taliban had enough middle-eastern financial backers when the West withdrew its support. In contrast, the BBS will dry up and loose steam, as soon as it looses its financial backing.

Here we have to look at the JHU that has become a dormant entity when its financial support dried up with the JHU becoming a compliant partner of the Rajapaksa politics of accommodating all and `shaping up’ problems instead of solving them according to the rule book.

Brits don’t mind shaking hands with anyone. As long as their strategic interests are taken care of.

George W Bush, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia were hosted by the Queen while they were visiting UK. They stayed at the Buckingham Palace. A rare honour. Usually reserved for people like Mandela.

Remember Tony Blair? A prominent war criminal himslef. Went to Libya and hugged Gaddafi. Heard about infamous British Hypocrisy? It is an Institution in the UK.

PS: Rajapassa has annihilated LTTE on Sri Lankan soil. That was most welcome. However, his corrupt dynasty building project should be dismantled. Before he destroys Sri Lanka.

Nobody should be allowed to mess with Tamil Sri Lankans anymore.

Nothing should be deprived to the Tamil people. Their suffering must be ended. Now.

Tamils are an inalienable part of the beautiful Sri Lankan mosaic. All for one. One for all! One family.

Is mercy killing legal under International law?

“Tamils are an inalienable part of the beautiful Sri Lankan mosaic”

As long as they are willing to assimilate into Sinhala/Buddhists and serve their master Aryan race.

God bless UK for feeding these parasite-dole budgers. Keep feeding these useless jokers beacuase the UK had stolen enough wealth from the Mother Lanka during its colonisation for 200 odd years. Why not spend a pinch of that wealth.

” Rajapassa has annihilated LTTE on Sri Lankan soil. That was most welcome.”

      Of course most welcome.

You know very well in the process many innocent Tamils were killed and the state, its rulers and their cronies and cheer leading war mongers are complicit in war crime and crime against humanity.

Why are you maintaining an unhealthy silence on that part of annihilation?

      Does it hurt?

      • 0
        0

I am not convinced about such a massacare or annihilation. But, better finished at that point. Otherwise it would have been more people killed even within the 4 year period of time since the war ended (2009-2013)and would have more to go. Atleast we don’t have such killings now. So what we have to do is to make a better rule/ruler to unite together under one flag.

      Dear Ben Hurling,

“Brits don’t mind shaking hands with anyone. As long as their strategic interests are taken care of.”

      Well said. Let’s see more

      1. Nevile Chamberlain, “Peace in our lifetime”, hand over Sudetenland and later Czechoslovakia.

      2. Ethiopia and Libya, invasions by Mussolini, and the League of Nations.

      3. Leaving India, Ceylon, Palestine etc. is a mess after being fully exhausted by World War II, the Great Colonial War.

      4. Of course, George Bush lies were supported for WMD Iraq invasion.

All these are major moral issues.

What President Rajapaksa did, was rally the country to put an end to separatism and racism. The whole nation is thankful for this including most of the Tamils.

The problem we have is the post LTTE defeat issues. We have the ugly head of Racism, the Religions and Ethno Myths of Mahanama, the Portuguese Catholic dream of turning Lanka into a Catholic Island, just like Philippines, and the modern day Christian fundamentalism.

The Religion virus, the MYTHS, is a good part of the problem as well.

Religion is the opium of the masses. A Plan? A new Cultural Revolution

1, Expunge Religion. Ban Religion, outside the House.
      2. Put the Monks, Priests and Mullahs to work in the fields.
      3. Work and Live Happily ever after, without he MYTHS and in PEACE.

The mind viruses and myths will not get you anywhere other than fatten the Monks, Priests and Mullahs, and provide them with sustenance including boys, girls, and other pleasures.

Child sexual abuse by Catholic priests in the United States. In “Hand of God

      Uploaded on Jun 23, 2009
In recent decades, more than 10,000 children were reportedly sexually abused by Catholic priests in the United States. In “Hand of God,” filmmaker Joe Cultrera explores just one of those cases, that of his own brother Paul.

Paul Cultrera was molested in the 1960s by Father Joseph Birmingham, who allegedly abused nearly 100 other children. “Hand of God” tells the story of faith betrayed, and how Paul and the rest of the Cultrera family fought back against a scandal that continues to afflict scores of churches across the country.

Child Abuse by a Monk in Habaraduwa

      Uploaded on May 29, 2010
She sent her grandson to school with the idea of providing him with proper education to make him a good person. The Buddhist monk in charge of the temple asked her to send the child to the temple and she sent him there because they were poor. There was no possibility for them to pay the money for tuition fees. That was the reason why they sent the boy to the temple school. When the child began to refuse going to the temple school so adamantly, grandmother had to look for the reason. It was then only that she discovered that the child who was sent to learn good behavior, ethics and Buddha’s Dharma from the monk had in fact been abused by the monk.

Have you seen pictures of Mahinda Rajapak hugging Gaddafi, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Karuna, Pillayan etc? Just Google if you haven’t. :)

I do agree with you that MRs corrupt dynasty has to be dismantled…but that is not enough. We also need to devolve power to the North & East. If the Rajapaksas’ are kicked out and maximum power devolved to the North and East, the Diaspora might give up on the war crimes issue. Sri Lanka may have won the war against the LTTE, but they are most definitely losing the peace day in and day out with every land grab…every time a tamil vanishes, is tortured or is raped…every time the Uthayan newspapers is vandalised or burnt…and every time the GOSL prevents tamils from commemorating their dead.

Please take some time to watch this documentary when you are free…you will then understand how SL is squandering the hard won peace.

“There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare.”
      ~ Sun Tzu

Since the victory using firepower in 2009 SL has branched out into a cold war with the west and the Tamil Diaspora. The defense budget has kept increasing even after the end of the war and the allocation for defense in 2013 is 290 Billion while only 65.8 Billion was allocated for education. Obviously the defense budget for 2014 will exceed 300 Billion and continue to increase…something that this country cannot afford. This financial mismanagement, waste, corruption and high cost of living is what will finally break the back of the Rajapaksas’ popularity amongst the people, and I am looking forward to that day. But the country will be devastated economically.

“There are only two forces in the world, the sword and the spirit. In the long run the sword will always be conquered by the spirit.”
      ~ Napoleon Bonaparte

…the longer we deny the Tamils their rights and treat them as a conquered people, their spirit will only grow stronger.

As long as there is perceived unrest in SL these tamils can cling to their refugee status. And as long as there are unscrupulous organizations like C4 who will lie for money and corrupt politicians willing to carry the torch for the tamils for the sake of a few votes there will never be peace between Sinhalese and tamils.

What this means is that the entire world is asking for “equal rights”, justice, peace and rule of law in Sri Lanka, and nothing else. If we do not understand this and swallow the “regime’s pill” that tigers are trying to divide the country, then SL is going to get into more trouble. Its time to open our eyes and accommodate rule of law, equal status for all religions & races, and peace. If we do not implement these then irrespective of the fact that the Chief of Army, Defense Secretary or even President telling the world that foreign countries cannot interfere in SL affairs, is not going to help the regimes wishes.

LAND,TO THE TAMILS. HE HAS INTENTIONALLY, FORGOTTEN THE FACT THAT WHAT THE TAMILS DEMAND IS PURELY, THE CONCEPT OF REOCCUPYING, ALL THE LANDS
IDENTIFIED AS OWNED AND INHERITED PROPERTIES,FOR MANY AND HUNDREDS OF
YEARS, NAMELY IN THE NORTH,AND EAST ONLY AND KNOWN AS EELAM.
ANY AQUISITION OF THE LANDS,BY THE GOVT; IN THE TAMIL HOMELANDS, WILL
PROVE TO BE A DISMAL FAILURE, AND PROVE NEGATIVE, IN THE LIGHT OF EVENTS,FORSEEN BY THE CHINESE,PREDICTIONS. ONLY TIME WILL,DETERMINE THAT MILITARY MIGHT,IS A NEGATIVE PROPONENT AS OPPOSED TO PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC APPEALS.

These people have no respect even to the Prime Minister of the land they live in. Looking at the top picture its sheer disrespect for those who do not follow their ways. VP’s ways !

What a fine mess we have got ourselves into. We have grown tamils still crying like women for something they were not brave enough to defend like men. When in 1998 I queried with Poobalan in Pulmodai as to the age of many of the young soldiers, his retort was prompt and candid ‘what to do, the men have all run away to other countries’ to which I replied ‘they are not men, then, just cowards’ and the desperate man gave me a rueful smile. The men and women of what today we call the Tamil diaspora are just pitiful, guilt-ridden specimens who ran away from doing their duty. Cowardly clowns who scarpered and left the future of their community/race in the hands of a bunch of jokers who led them to an inevitable demise. Tamils everywhere should hang their heads in shame. Diaspora Tamils should keep their heads down and assimilate into their chosen communities and redeem themselves rather than indulging in plaintive long distance pleading. What will a tamil man in the diaspora say to his child who asks ‘what did you do in the war appochchi? I ran away? They look ridiculous parading the streets of foreign cities, making a general nuisance of themselves to the bemused locals. Those who really wish to join the ongoing struggle should return to SL and join the fractured community and work at the coal face. To be a Tamil in SL today is to be seen as a loser; the community in SL urgently needs brave and far-thinking leaders who are capable of leading them out of the wilderness that they inhabit – they do not need their brethren who have chosen to park cars and pump gas in foreign climes and join pointless demos when they have nothing better to do.
Dr Wijebahu has raised some interesting, maybe impertinent questions. Our diplomats abroad, politically appointed and career, are far too busy attending to their own affairs to go out and actively broadcast the positive efforts of those at home. Some diplomats cannot properly communicate with the diaspora – sinhala and tamil – because they do not speak either language. One, who shall have to remain unnamed even said as an aside ‘I have nothing in common with the yakkos’. Has anybody kept count of the numbers of diplomats (and their family members) who have opted to settle in foreign climes rather than return to live in the land like no other that they lied for?
For those of the diaspora, Sinhala, tamil, muslim and others, genuinely interested in the future and well-being of Sri Lanka, the message must be; return to SL and rejoin the community and play your part. For all those in SL, only you can truly shape the future of this beautiful island. Give short shrift to the boo boys who spend their time in recrimations – who did what to whom – and the many looking back at mythical historic times and misfortunes of innumerable wrong turnings. Today is about planning and executing a future for all Sri Lankans to live with respect for one another and with dignity. That elusive utopian state – the true Miracle of Asia is still possible.
