“I Have Sinhala Extremists And Religious Extremists In My Cabinet”: President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a widely publicised interview with the Al-Jazeera network yesterday admitted to having religious extremists and right wing extremists in his cabinet of ministers.

“Right wing extremists are there, religious extremists are there – the Tamils, the Sinhala, the Muslims – we have all these people in the cabinet. They are all working together and I have to manage them,” President Rajapaksa told an Interviewer from Al-Jazeera.

The reporter was asking the President about charges by UN high Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay that some of his Ministers had abused her and called her the Tamil Tigress in the UN. “Even one of your own brothers she says,” the reporter said.

“This is a democracy. Individual MPs, Ministers and officials can say anything they want,” the President replied.

Rajapaksa said he had the world’s only Trotskyite cabinet member in his cabinet.

If there is Federalism would it have happened. First having studied Law, the President should have known what is suitable for a country practising pluralism. the President should be aware that extremism will only lead to a failed State. By the way, are Wimal Weerawansa, Mervin Silva, etc recognized persons. Are these persons not a disgrace to Sri Lanka? Democracy does not mean persons of mean attitude should be given due importance. The world is laughing the conduct of the PSC. In a democracy will persons who have been found guilty in a court of law, be given undue importance. Should the law of the jungles be allowed to exist in a democratic country.

See how the Bugger proudly say that his Cabinet has Sinhala Extremists and Religious Extremists as if that is a qualification. His Cabinet is not only having Extremists, but Rapists, Murderers, Thugs and Hooligans as well. There isn’t a single Decent Person in his Cabinet or in his Govt. Afterall how can a Decent and a Honest person serve under him? when he Himself is the Biggest Liar, Rogue and Murderer in the Country? The Tsunami Hora who made use of Wambottas to come to power killing all Opposition Members and in the end used the Forces to dispose the Wambottas as well. Do not worry, His Karma will catch up with him very soon and every one will be able to see what will happen to him and his family.

Gamini, You and I are not smart, but I admire this guy ,he is the smartest politician in Srilanka history. He used other politicians including his his brother Gota to start a propaganda to create hatred against the minority. This was done systematically to get votes and these voters go and vote willy-nilly without knowing the consequences.
I feel sorry for the next government who will take over from MR and siblings , they have to start paying the debts .MR and siblings have done their harvest and time for them to plan their private islands, Villas, Yachts ,Havana cigars and topless maids. Good luck Mr Smart who took the modayas for a ride.

Royston, you should have add that MaRa is the least knowledgable, least educated (Srimavo’and DSS’ education was much better than his) least smart, least decent, least mannered, ugliest leader ever came to power in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan minorities are always extremists. Mahinda Rajapaske has not mentioned it hid the fact.

IT is HEla Jathika urumaya and not Sinhala Jathika Urumaya. Mahinda Rajapakse had not explained that. It is the Tamils only or Muslims only parties are extremist.

HE should have used this as a platform to explain the reality.

      Jim Softy,

The Tamil only and Muslim only parties evolved because the mainstream SLFP and UNP parities turned out to be Sinhala Buddhist Only preference.

The LSSP and CP sacrificed their principles of Egalitarianism and sold out to the Sinhala Buddhist Racist Parties.

        AMARASIRI:

        THAT IS NOT THE REASON.

In a SINHALA MAJORITY COUNTRY, IF A TAMIL OR A MUSLIMS EXPECTS TO HEAD THE SLFP OR UNP, you should be out of mind.

It is simply Tamil – Tribalism and Muslim – Fanaticism.

Sinhala buddhists are TOO ACCOMMODATING. See how Tamils live in other countries.

See how muslims treat other religions when they are the majority. When muslims don’t pay any attention to other believers why should they expect the expect the same from others.

LISTEN TO WHAT RUSSIAN PRESIDENT PUTIN SAYS. MINORITIES SHOULD NOT QUESTION MAJORITY RIGHTS IN THE COUNTRY THAT THEY ARE LIVING.

SEE HOW OBAMA IS LIVING. HE KNOWS HE IS FROM A MINORITY AND HE DID NOT GIVE ANYTHING SPECIFIC TO BLACKS. HE EVEN DID NOT VISIT THE DEEP SOUTH WHEN BLACKS WERE IN TROUBLE.

Jim Softly, minority rights does not mean taking over the country, you stupid. It means respecting the minority. When you run out of excuses to defend the Sinhala-Buddhist racists, you have the habit of pointing at anyone outside the SL to justify your bad behaviour. We can see that behaviour in children too. When a child does something wrong, he or she always point his brother or sister for starting the fight when confronted. GROW UP!

          Burma’s Buddhist Pogroms
          by Angus Cargill

          http://www.trimondi.de/EN/Burma.htm

In neighbouring Sri Lanka, a country which prides itself as having preserved one of the earliest and purest forms of Buddhism, even more bloodthirsty ethnic conflict with the Hindu Tamil minority led to massacres at the end of the civil war in 2009 which left at least 30,000 dead and, according to the Sri Lankan Catholic Bishop Joseph Rayappu, 146,679 unaccounted for. Sri Lankan Buddhist monks have been equally prominent in fanning the flames of ethnic and religious tension there, leading demonstrations in 2002 which prevented a peaceful settlement to the civil war, assassinating Prime Minister S.W.R.D Bandaranaike in 1959 for making concessions aimed at reconciliation with the Tamils (1), and most recently storming a mosque which they claimed was on ancestral Buddhist territory. The Japanese Zen Buddhist leadership, according to the Zen priest Brian Victoria, writing in “Buddhist Warfare,” a collection of essays published by the Oxford University Press in 2010, displayed “fervent if not fanatical support of Japanese militarism.” (2)

The first formal European convert to Buddhism, Helena Blavatsky, who took Buddhist vows in Sri Lanka in 1880, was a rabid anti-Semite, translations of whose books were the first in Germany to bear the swastika, and whose Theosophical Society laid the foundations for the foundation of the Nazi Party in 1920. So what could the reason be for such vicious racially inspired violence breaking out in these three Buddhist countries, between them accounting for a substantial majority of Buddhist worshippers in the world today? Coincidence? Well, maybe, but consider a few thought-provoking facts. Early European Buddhists were almost exclusively anti-Semitic and deeply racist promoters of the myth of the “Aryan master race,” which they believed had followed a religion similar to Buddhism. The philosopher Schopenhauer, who was the first European to call himself a Buddhist as well as being a rabid and offensive anti-Semite, the anti-Semitic composer Wagner, even the SS leader Himmler were all serious students of Indian and Buddhist philosophy. The first formal European convert to Buddhism, Helena Blavatsky, who took Buddhist vows in Sri Lanka in 1920. Her protégé, Anagarika Dharmapala, was the chief ideologist of Sri Lankan nationalism, and in his writings and speeches preached a militant race theory that praised the “Aryan” Buddhist Sinhalese and denigrated the other races of Sri Lanka, including the “shylock-like” Muslims. From 1911 until the 1950s the “Island Hermitage” of German, Croatian and British monks in Sri Lanka was led by the German monk Nyanatiloka, who refused to ordain one of his fellow monks because he was Jewish and during wartime internment chose the “Fascist “ section of his prison camp over the “Democratic” section, and two of its prominent British members joined after reading the writings of the Italian fascist Julius Evola, another scholar of Buddhism, who was also a member of the SS research branch, the “Ahnenerbe.” The writings of the first European Buddhist monk, Allan Bennett, who was ordained in Burma, show a deep obsession with the racial aspects of Buddhism, but this connection with European racism seems to have borne even more sinister fruit in the 1930s with the rise of Burmese Nationalism. According to the German historian Hans Berndt Zoellner, U Saw, the third pre-independence Prime Minister of Burma from 1941-1942 , translated Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” into Burmese, and published it in his newspaper. The Austrian Professor Volker Zotz (3), who cites Zoellner, also quotes a saying popular in Burmese nationalist circles during World War II. “Germany and Japan, come safely to us, because you are of the Sakya race,” Sakya referring to the Buddha’s clan name.

If the conflicts in Burma and Sri Lanka are set to continue the marriage made in hell between Asian Buddhism and European race theory, of which Nazi Germany was not the only, but by far the worst example, then they may be even more difficult to solve than we have thought up to now.

Plus many other unsavoury types, who are a disgrace and an unnecessary burden on the country. Unfortunately, to be in power the President needs them. To hell with the people and the country!

In Tamil we have a proverb which translates as ‘ Even a calf that lives with the pigs will eat human waste’! I know who the pigs are, but am yet finding it difficult to identify the coprophagic calf or calves.

Srilanka has too much demo crazy ? – this is the reason why Rajapaskehs kill tamils and sinahalese now through state army.

It is the Rajapakshes who paved the way those extremists to breed easily.

He has still been doing it – like meeharaka he responds to the questions raised by Aljaseera moderator, but his underground agendas are crystal clear to many those who can see things beyond their noses.

Stupid masses will still stay deaf – as it is the case in southern and rural areas.

He is proud of those poor peole naively voting him again and again. But his GRATITUDE towards the poor is unbelievable. Why not he bring price reductions at least for the most essential daily needs ?

Yes, you are both a Sinhala extremist and a religious extremist for not stopping these idiots causing trouble division in the country.

Rajapaks’s answer was so idiotic. He is well aware what these extremists are doing to the minorities, the country in general and its international reputation and all he can say is that his cabinet consists of extremists. What is he doing about it?

They are all working together and I have to manage them,”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noah's_Ark

Noah’s Ark (Arabic: سفينة نوح‎; Hebrew: תיבת נח‎; Biblical Hebrew: Tevat Noaḥ) is the vessel in the Genesis flood narrative (Genesis chapters 6–9) by which the Patriarch Noah saves himself, his family, and a remnant of all the world’s animals when God decides to destroy the world because of humanity’s evil deeds.[1] God gives Noah detailed instructions for building the ark: it is to be of gopher wood, smeared inside and out with pitch, with three decks and internal compartments; it will be 300 cubits long, 50 wide, and 30 high; it will have a roof “finished to a cubit upward”, and an entrance on the side.[2]

Today, we are living in a world where people cannot maintain individual ethnic views because the culture is getting mixed. Early in 1940s Martin Wickramasinghe could wright of Sinhala Buddhist Culture, Hindu flowery culture. Today, everything we perform as Buddhist ceremonies are Hindu, Mahayana Buddhist, and Christian. But any of these extremists do not believe, that they are living in a such a culturally complex culture. This situation create and maintain by the politicians. As much as the politicians are uneducated and narrow-minded, they would be opportunistic. In most of the countries in the world today, political leaders have something to be preserved, sustained and built in their countries. Americans do not see any big change during the two terms of Obama administration yet. Recent news told that 50% of foreign debts has been paid. It is not something find to the people quickly. In our countries, if there is anything can feel has happened, they all are in the lives of politicians, their families or henchmen as well. Common people should understand this reality and use the only power of vote they get in four or five years, as Northern Tamils did in the recent poll.

You may have anyone in the cabinet but what matters is the policies they implement. If they go around creating havoc, raping and pillaging, robbing and looting, discriminating and hating, abusing and insulting, then you should take action against them not remain silent. That is not managing, it is anarchy. There are things known as ethics and moral conduct which politicians and leaders should follow.

MAHINDA Rajapakse is NOT WORTH LEADING THE SINHALA – BUDDHISTS.

DURING HIS INTERVIEW TO AL-JAZEERA HE DID NOT DEFEND the sinhala buddhists. I don’t think him as a patriotic or a courageous leader.

He just supported the view of those propagandists just to save himself.

Sinhala buddhists took all the crap since the europeans invaded sri lanka and they haven’t recovered even to date. Mahinda rajapakse should have explained to the dumb al-jazeera interviewer.

    Your Excellency,

“Right wing extremists are there, religious extremists are there – the Tamils, the Sinhala, the Muslims – we have all these people in the cabinet. They are all working together and I have to manage them,” President Rajapaksa told an Interviewer from Al-Jazeera.

Thank you for making such a declaration to the world. I wish other Presidents were honest and bold enough to make such a statement. I just hope you’re honest and bold enough to take actions against all those Individual MPs, Ministers and officials who are responsible for fraud, murders, rapes, and human rights violations against the citizens of the country you preside over. We request you to please take action soon and put these barbarians behind bars and use the tax money which was used to pay for their salaries, entertainment, travel etc for the betterment of the country.

    Sincerely,
    Suranee Perera
