I Will Not Reappoint Ranil Even If All 225 MPs Support Him: Sirisena

The second round of discussions between President Maithripala Sirisena and the United National Front party leaders ended unsuccessfully with the President continuing to reject the UNF’s nomination for the Prime Minister’s position, Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Sirisena

The meeting took place at the Presidential Secretariat at 8 PM with the participation of all UNP party leaders who attended the first meeting last Friday.

Speaking to media after the meeting with the President, UNP MP Lakshman Kiriella said Sirisena informed his group that Ranil Wickremesinghe would not be appointed the Prime Minister even if he received the support of all 225 MPs in Parliament.

“This is a grave threat to democracy. The meeting without any outcome due to President Sirisena’s stubborn attitude,” a UNF party leader who wished to remain anonymous told Colombo Telegraph after the meeting.

The UNF party leaders walked into the Presidential Secretariat with a new-found confidence with the interim order by the Court of Appeal preventing former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his group from continuing in office.

The UNF party leaders pointed out to Sirisena that Wickremesinghe, the UNF’s nominee for the Prime Minister post, had the support of 117 MPs in the House. Despite their statements, Sirisena said he would not reappoint Wickremesinghe as the Prime Minister, bringing the political crisis back to square one.

Because of Maithiripala Sirisena’s adamant attitude, democracy is in crisis. He is thoroughly upset that his constitutional coup did not work up to the expectation. After all he too was once suspected of being a JVPer and was arrested during Srimavo’s period. Finally he has shown his true colours in not complying with the Court’s Order. He is like a dog which finally raises its hind leg after thorough training is given. When he said that even if Ranil Wickremasinghe has 225 MP, I was pondering that his arrogance would be due insanity. Either impeach Maithiripala or send him to Angoda Mental Hospital. His arrogance has cost the country and it is the people who will confront all hardships. Something wrong somewhere.

      Ayathuray Rajasingam,

To understand Sirisena, you need to understand the circle of Sirisena.

      1. Says one thing.

      2 Announces a different thing.

      3. Does something completely different

      4. Starts the circle again.

Everybody, who do not understand the Circle of Sirisena is baffled.

Remember what the late D N M Perera warned during the 1978 debate on the executive presidency.? When a madman is president with executive powers, the country is in peril.

Sirisena is just an insignificant munchkin ……… people get distractions by his foolish utterances.

What was/is the greatest thereat to the country is the false artificially manufactured Mahinda’s image/popularity. If not for Mahinda’s “popularity” sirisena will not act/speak this way.

An image/popularity manufactured with “mass-hysteria” image-shaping with giant cutouts, compliant-media lackeys, shameless blatant falsehoods etc ………. this is how all these megalomaniacs have been created throughout history – Hitler, Mussolini, Sadam …….

All this will come to pass – as they have always ……. throughout history – when the mass-hysteria is shattered and people come to see through the false image/illusion.

This is what the real patriots should focus on; attacking Mahinda’s false-image and destroying it. The whole country will come good once that is accomplished.

The greater threat to the country is not Sirisena but the other conspirator/culprit Mahinda whose “manufactured” false image is the curse that should be destroyed and people brought back to earth.

There is no better time than now to do it when he is vulnerable.

What Sira means is perfectly logical. Listen to this:
    .
Ranil to Sira: The 225 want Ranil as PM.
Sira to 225: I will have to ask Li Keqiang (Sira’s financier and PM of China). 225 go to Li.
Li to 225: I will have to ask my boss, Trump. 225 go to Trump
Trump to 225: This is not my problem. I have to ask your PM Ranil.
Ranil to 225: Even if 225 sign it I will not ask Sira.

Then they lived happily ever after.

What is all this fuss for? MS said that he will not appoint RW even if 225 MPs want him. All 225 never will.
If about 115 or so do, he will!

“MS said that he will not appoint RW even if 225 MPs want him. “

What did Ranil do to Sirisena? Did Ranil F*** him so hard and deep, he can hardly think, and is unstable.? Is Ranil worse than the Devil?

Sri Lanka, a Land like no other, where the PM F**** the President so hard, the President goes Mad! The economy and tourism suffers.

Is the Appeal Court bigger than the Yahapalana High Court?.
Because I just noticed that the AC has cancelled the Work Permits of Mahinda and his Cabinet until the AP dudes “decide”.
And it is not until 15 Dec.
This is getting even more messy dudes..

How can the dear Wifies of those Judges buy Double Smoked Spanish Ham, Aussie Roast Turkey and even Chilian Bubbly if the Hubbies don.t get their X Mas bonus from Mahinda’s Treasury?
specially when Mahinda has the key..
They won’t settle for just Kiribath or Appam for X Mas … would they?.

Anyway matters more of concern to us are totally different, because our folks won’t eat Turkey and drink Bubbly anyway.

I am sure Dr Ranil can’t get 225.
I always thought it was that “109”..But I had to change my mind.
There are apparently “118” there, according to a Lawyer from one of those “Corruption Free Governance” outfits. in Colombo..
He says he know who they are .
And it is the paramount duty of the Prez to publish their names without any further delay.
    That is serious .

Another thing which drew my attention is the TNA CM’s latest announcement.
The CM says he is not interested in Elections. I can understand. it
But he says there are other ways to Resolve this Crisis in Kotte.
And he will expand on it later.
That is really interestingly serious stuff. coming from a Horse’s Mouth.

Another interesting fact which I came across in the Colombo Media is TELO Siva’s statement….
Siva says he wants Dr Ranil to sign his 5 Demands before his Party backs him as the resurrected PM.

I hear Namal baby on his own (without his minder G L Pieris ) carrying sacks full of liquid assets travelling all over TNA country offering good prices and a cabinet post to anyone who will listen to him. I know he doesn’t get along with his uncle Basil. It seems Namal Baby has replaced Basil and inherited the family fortunes.

Appaya has forgotten a major concept of government. It is not his fathers wealth that he is managing, he is the custodian of the people’s wealth. The people elect representatives to represent them and majority of those representatives elect a person they have confidence in to lead them.

A head of govt you have lost control f parliament and the confidence of the people so PLEASE RESIGN.

This is really a worrying situation and one commentator said we are only a millimetre away from dictatorship. He is absolutely right. Rational arguments can not be made with a man with an irrational mind and has an ulterior motive and keep moving the goal post. Continuing to persevere with RW as the UNF candidate for PM, is playing in to his hand. What the country need is restoration of democracy. We all want status quo notwithstanding allegations against RW and failure to bring perpetrators to justice. It is time to nominate an alternative candidate for PM, and assign RW to work on impeachment. After all he has some scores to settle with M&S!

Oh, what a joke! The moment UNP use their brains (if they have) things will revert to the previous status and there won’t even be a necessity to “re-appoint” anybody. They are only one step away.

This stupid President shooting off his mouth is a real joke! Dumb Gamarala if Ranil had the support of 225 Members of Parliament, first thing he would do will be to impeach the ingratitude rat of a President! Then everything would be over!

Ranil is a crooked man who has a stranglehold on the minds of the lumpen Sri Lankans and also holds the UNP by its throat. he loses every election and the UNP loses votes from 48% to 28 %.

There is corruption everywhere in the UNP and the Bond scam is the biggest conjob. Their economic and other policies are a disaster. But the UNP stays with Ranil slave like, even if he treats them like shit-which they deserve !

Ranil has led a luxurious life for 50 years, endless foreign travel, best hotels , wining and dining, meeting top people-but the country is getting poorer and people are suffering.

can you imagine if under MR the pohotuwa lost votes like the UNP ?They would have chased the leaders

Even at the Bond scam inquiry the judges treated Ranil with fear

Ranil has colonized the UNP minds and fooled the whole country.

Absolutely agree that Ranil is a crooked man. All 225 in Parliament are also crooked and should also be got rid of. Sri Lanka needs urgent change of,a brand new legislature.

    Sirisena,

RE: I Will Not Reappoint Ranil Even If All 225 MPs Support Him: Sirisena,

That is fine. Since the Fake PM you appointed in the middle of the night, as the replacement to the PM who was there , is unconstitutional and illegal per the courts, the PM who was there Ranil W. is still the legal and constitutional PM, as Ranil W has not yet resigned. So, there is NO reed for you to appoint him as the PM, but the Parliament need to conform that Ranil W is still the legal and Constitutional PM.

The Parliament should approve a motion to this effect.

Sirisena, tis is not your father’s kingdom or your kingdom. Sri Lanka is Republic

Why don’t you do what King Siri-Sanga Bho did? Abdicate and get back to the jungles of Polonnaruwa and mediate!

MS is acting on Rajapaksha’s instructions.

He know no other person will take the PM role just for 1 year. Most probably we will have an election after 4.5 years. Which is next year.

With the chaos in Sri Lanka, becoming PM is political suicide. With all the court hearings around the corner, the gangs of Rajapaksha will be on the streets in full swing.

Only option is to let the same government to continue.

With this 225 member comment Prez clearly says he rule the country by his own will than govern by the constitution. Take this as an example we need the amendment to the constitution taking out the 2/3 vote to remove the President when violating the constitution to simple majority in Parliament or single vote with Supreme Court ruling against any decisions made by Prez identified as against the constitution. Utter insane to have a clause saying 2/3 majority needed when an individual against the constitution or law of the land irrespective of his position. Is a public servant require 2/3 majority when he or she is in violation of the law?

Did he not say he would not work with Ranil for even two hours? That envisaged a situation where Ranil would be PM. So, all Sirisena has to do is re-appoint Ranil and as a man of honour, resign after one hour and fifty nine minutes! That way, it’s a win -win situation and MS can go down in history as a man who kept his word. And he is on record as saying he was prepared to sacrifice his office or his life or both if necessary. If he gives up his office, that would do! In this present surreal situation, one is entitled to fantasise.

Sirisena with our votes and trust, got elected to govern the country with RW as PM, under Good Governance. If he is not going to act on the voice of the elected representatives of Parliament, something is radically wrong with him. Rather, he probably is not with the balanced mind.
Further acts more like the MODERN SHYLOCK OF THE WORLD, demanding more,
