Manmohan Singh to visit relief camps as state government offers compensation to victims’ families after 45 are killed in clashes
The Indian prime minister, Manmohan Singh, is to fly to Assam on Saturday in an attempt to calm sectarian violence that has left at least 45 dead and caused 392,000 to flee their homes in the north-eastern state.
