Is The BBS The Boss? The BBS Bid For Power And How To Beat It

By Dayan Jayatilleka –

Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka

Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka

There are scarier things, worse things, than Black July ’83. Aluthgama signaled the possibility of such things.

The sequence of events, the lethal violence, the horror of Aluthgama were reminiscent of July ’83 –and to go by Tarzie Vittachchi’s Emergency ’58, the anti-Tamil riots of that year. That is the element of dark continuity, which we must never forget in our haste to define the present as the worst of times. But there is also the element of discontinuity which makes Aluthgama potentially far more dangerous.

If we are to fight this phenomenon successfully, it is necessary to correctly identify the beast. So far it has been misidentified as the scarier mask of the ruling clan, the dark avatar of Sinhala Buddhism or the instrument of neoliberal capitalism. It may be all of these or some of these, but these are not the most important or dangerous aspects of its present-day manifestation, the BBS, and the Aluthgama outbreak.

What is most significant about Aluthgama was the speech by the BBS’ Galagodaatte Gnanasara, the main demagogue but not the main strategist of that formation (the latter role is played by the far senior figure of Ven Kirame Wimalajothi). A careful listening tells me that the BBS project aims at nothing less than state power itself. The discourse signals nothing less than the intention to dictate to the state itself and in that sense, to capture the state. The BBS demagogue claims ownership of the state and the right order how it must behave. The claim of ownership is of course, not personal. Nor is it organizational i.e. limited to the BBS. The claim is not that circumscribed. The claim of ownership of the state is made in ethno religious terms, that of Sinhala Buddhism.  That however, is a disguise. The real claim is that a definite social stratum is the legitimate owner of the state and should therefore be able to prescribe the state’s policy and practice. The aim and claim is to direct the state. The stratum on behalf of which the BBS stakes this claim is the Sinhala Buddhist clergy.

This is new. It may be the case that the Rajapaksas (singular or plural) extended patronage to the BBS. It might even be that certain elements of the state apparatuses thought to do with the BBS what Pakistan’s ISI did in the 1990s with and for the Taliban. In some senses we have been here before, and Galagodaatte Gnanasara is the new Elle Gunawansa while Kirama Wimalajothi is the new Madihe Pannaseeha. Whatever the provenance and patronage though, the phenomenon has metastasized.

In Aluthgama we witnessed a dangerous replay of July ‘83 in the sense that there was a situation of dual power. Who controls the situation: the state apparatuses or the Sinhala Buddhist ‘street’? However, the BBS posed a further question in Aluthgama: who controls the state itself and its direction; its actions? The legitimate state authorities or the monks? Even more serious was the contestation of legitimacy itself: who is more legitimate, the elected civilian power or the monkhood?

What the BBS aims to do is to control the State. This is a qualitative escalation from the decades-long role of the hawkish Buddhist clergy of being a lobby, pressure group and spoiler (Sinhala only in ’55-’56, the BC Pact ‘57, the APC proposals and Annexure ’84). Galagodaatte Gnanasara’s speech signals the new objective of laying claim to control of the State and indeed the new self-image of being such a controlling force or a contender for State power (as distinct from electoral office). Gnanasara directly addresses and appeals to the armed forces and police over the heads of the constitutional political power. He warns the political power by reminding it that the armed forces and police are Sinhala.

The strategy is simple: the sociological (ethno-linguistic, ethno-religious) composition of the state apparatus is sought to be used to leverage the state to act not merely in the interests of a leading role for the Sinhala Buddhists, but a more explicit role which ranges from outright domination up to (or down to) exclusive monopoly of power, economic presence and existential space. The BBS discourse is not merely one of Sinhala Buddhist rulership but of a model of society and politics most charitably described as apartheid but more accurately described as enslavement –with its accompaniment, existential dread and terror.

The agency of control of the state—the aspirant directors of the state—are the Buddhist monks, of which the BBS is the vanguard.

The three dead Muslims, killed it would seem by gunshots in a drive-by indicate that a new phenomenon, an armed militia may be in play. This Ku Klux Klan doesn’t even have to wear sheets and hoods! Of course, the BBS project is to transform the armed forces and police themselves into militias of the Sinhala Buddhist monkhood.

Can the project succeed? It is six decades or more since the rot set in; six decades or more in which this has been incubating. The ideology and consciousness showed heightened levels of toxicity with the rhetoric (beamed live on national TV) at the funeral of Rev Soma. The egg is now beginning to hatch and the monster is showing the top of its scaly head. The monster is not simply that of racism, religious chauvinism, neoliberal capitalism, neo-imperialist conspiracy or Rajapaksaism. It is (as I described it a year ago) ethno-religious fascism and its project is the installation of a social and political order that is theocratic fascism. It is the fascist character that makes it lay claim to the state.

This is way beyond a tactic to gain marginal electoral advantage on the part of the Rajapaksas. The derisive references to President Rajapaksa in Galagodaatte Gnansara’s Aluthgama ‘discourse’ were utterly significant. A social shift has taken place in this country and the BBS hopes to translate it into a power shift. Aluthgama was a testing ground. The BBS’ strategy is a coalition of the Three Ms: Monks, Mobs and Military. Plan A would be rule by these three forces, under the dominance of the monks: theocratic fascism. Plan B would be the installation of military rule backed by the Buddhist clergy: a Sinhala Buddhist coup and junta. Plan C may be a Manchurian Candidate scenario: the installation as the country’s leader of a personality who can be counted on to approximate Plan A. The triggering of anti-Muslim but also anti-minority rioting throughout the country, a military ouster of the Northern PC, a replay of the assassination of SWRD Bandaranaike by a monk in 1959,  a situation of chaos and anarchy, may all be part of the plan to seize power or install its preferred ruler.

How to beat back the BBS? It is pointless debating the merits of one or another strategy. It is far more realistic to activate or encourage resistance from as many points as possible. The basis can be a clash of interests with the BBS or a clash of values. A purely values-based or ideas-based resistance to the BBS, though necessary and laudable, would be insufficiently broad and deep. An interest-based strategy is far more likely to succeed though it is not necessary that everyone subscribe to such a platform. After Gnanasara’s speech and the violence in Aluthgama, there is a clear conflict of interest between the ruler(s) and the BBS, which presents itself as a contender for the role of who should direct the state and whom the State apparatus should obey.  There is always a contradiction between the Boss and whoever wants to be, thinks he is or should be the boss. The Rajapaksas are a status quoist power; the BBS is a radically revisionist force. The former also have a far greater resonance among the populace at large.

Leon Trotsky famously said that in the struggle against fascism he would be willing to unite with the Devil’s grandmother. While all political parties and rulers (most certainly including the Rajapaksas) have contributed directly or indirectly to the problem and are thereby part of it, they are also potentially part of the solution. Having been enablers of the BBS, the Rajapaksas are objectively the most readily available potential counterweight and counterbalance to the BBS and cannot realistically be ignored. However a Realist strategy of counterbalancing by existing power centers is not the only legitimate one. A broad Left front of which the JVP is the leading and main force (while drawing in the FSP, the IUSF et al) is another track of what must surely be a multi-track strategy against fascism.

The officer corps of the Sri Lankan military, the bureaucracy, the judiciary, the corporate sector, the trade unions, the student unions, the professionals, the political parties, the media, the intelligentsia, the international system (including Sri Lanka’s friends) should all be made aware of how destructive the BBS project is to their interests and should be motivated to oppose and defeat it.  The most effective weapons to stop the March of the BBS are an intelligent patriotism, a reasoned appeal to Sinhala interests and a more authentic, generously inclusive and pluralist Buddhism.

LOOK!Mahinda is the main architect of these whole criminal acts. The day he dies, all will be gone. MAHINDA is the main strategist. He has planned to attack the Muslims the day Gangodawila Soma (The smooth racist) started the campaign to see for this end.

Mahinda planned and murdered Ashraff and all the abled people with experience and knowledge thinking that they might help the Muslims to retaliate. That’s how Gota the (Mass Murder Gobbaya) murdered all the intelligence Mulim guys in the Army and the Forces. One by one was murdered with unknown secret circumstances. That was how Mahinda made his plan ready.

Mahinda the bastard is not only a racist but also childish mentally retarded monster. He must have had a vengence against the Muslims although he ate and slept with them. AHM Azwer, Cader Hajiar, Alavi Moulana, Muzammil (Wimal Weerawangsa’s tomboy) (Zionist agents/Kuffars) is a clown he kept to suck his bum to show that he has Muslim support.

He allowed the Muslim ministers to do all illegal activities in order that they may be one day caught by the balls and to make them redundant. Now, all the Muslim MP’s have something to be scared of.

Hela Urumaya leadership must be wiped out first and foremost. If anyone to expect a country to live peacefully, they must do that first and foremost.

You are a dodgy SOB DJ!
Still trying to grovel up to MR (in the hope of another Ambassador posting?), and exonerate him and his criminal family from their crimes by claiming that the BBS is not following Rajapaksa orders. This is pure BULL SHIT!

BBS is Gota’s FRANKENSTEIN monster, created, nurtured and bred to smooth the way for Gota the Goon to ascend power as the Military Dictator/ Defender of Buddhism in the Land of the Sinhala Modaya!

The Rajapakse brothers are responsible for the violence, and the time has come to call for the resignation of Mahinda and Gotabaya Rajapaksa. They must be forced out of office and held accountable. A war crimes trial in the Hague now suddenly seems far more likely in any case…

DJ you are so far off the mark!

Aluthgama is the CHAOS that Lalith Weeratunge promised in Geneva earlier this year.

Weeratunge, the Jarapassa chaos specialist, said that there would be “CHAOS” in Sri Lanka if a UN probe in to war crime in Sri Lanka happens.
Aluthgama is the beginning of the Chaos that the Rajapaksas plan to unleash to distract the Sinhala Modayas from their war crimes… After all, Distract, divide and rule is the Jarapassa motto and model of governing Sinhala Modayas like you!

BBS is the creature of the Rajapakses in their evil scheme of remaining in power in a long innings playing to the gallery (80% of the country is the Sinhala electorate) The Rajapakses have won all the local and General Elections since 2006 along these lines.
Amending the Constitution in removing the clause for a 2 term Presidency is one that the majority in Parliament, sheep-like, granted. Although JRJ wanted one more term to continue his
“developmental” Agenda and his UNP had the majority in Parliament there was sufficient democracy and convincing debate in Parliament at that time that did not allow it. There was a free and independent media that went against JRJs wish. All those healthy features remains in ruins now.

Time will come soon when the Rajapakses will fight among themselves for leadership. That is when the clergy and the army will take sides and the country will be set aflame by selfish plunderers whom a gullible electorate annointed as “political” leaders.

“P.S. Wonder why the guy who defeated the LTTE can’t stop this bunch of thugs”

A self confessed war monger would want to see more blood and gory on the streets of this island. Why would he stop BBS from what they are doing to Muslims now, its war by other means. He loves watching it and reminiscing how Tamils were permanently defeated by the Sinhala/Buddhist state and its gallant armed forces.

He also reminisces how he defeated the Western Conspiracy against Sinhala/Buddhist state in 2009.

DJ is talking nonsense. The police (STF) and the armed forces are responsible for the shooting. They did not come to protect the Muslims but to kill them. Nobody but the government is behind all this. The derisive references to Rajapaksas by Gnansara is only a drama. If the government want they can stop the BBS but they are using them. Gota is the Godfather of BBS. As usual, DJ’s analysis is nothing but bull crap.

      It is the states weakness.

It is here why the Separation of State and Church, Temple and mosque is critical. The 1972 and 1977 and 1978 constitutions laid the foundation stones for the current calamity.

“The agency of control of the state—the aspirant directors of the state—are the Buddhist monks, of which the BBS is the vanguard.”

      The Sinhala Buddhist Church

The monks are trying the age of Christian Church method, the Church Controls the Sate, the State Controls the People , and therefore the Church controls the people.

More evidence emerge: Rajapakses stoking racial violence via BBS to serve own selfish despotic ends

      from the wine …

More evidence have surfaced which bear testimony that the murder and mayhem that were unleashed in Dharga town, Alutgama via racial violence , are based on the plans, plots and instigation of the Rajapakses , according to reports reaching Lanka e news.

Though T 56 weapons were given to the 134 police officers sent to the turbulent venue , by the Colombo police field headquarters , live bullets had been supplied only to six officers while others were supplied with rubber bullets .

34 STF soldiers had been dispatched on the orders of the criminal defense secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse but they had been given strict instructions not to fire at the protestors under any circumstance. If arson is being committed, these soldiers had been instructed to go to that venue along with a police officer of that region . Gota had issued this instruction to the IGP via an instantaneous message.

It is sad to note Gota gave these precautionary instructions in connection with the present violent protests launched by the BBS demonic monks to protect the latter , but in regard to the people’s peaceful protests demanding drinking water at Rathupaswala recently , Gota did not issue such instructions to save the protestors.

Are the Sinhala Buddhists and the Sinhala State and Police liars?

What are the facts of the Aluthgama Riots?

The facts are that BBS , The State and the Police and STF are in Cohort in attacking Muslims.

      These are the facts.

I am afraid that Dr DJ does history a great disservice writing this most ill-considered sentence. Those who were there – and I was – will tell you that to the poor victims of those days, who saw their loved ones killed, their homes torched, their communities terrorised and their lives brought to a bewildering halt, NOTHING could be worse or scarier.
I am not a Tamil, but I despaired as I helplessly watched the beastliness of our fellow citizens plumb as they depths of evil human misbehaviour.

It is not just the evil men running riot who should worry us, but the failure of those entrusted with keeping law and order – the spineless specimens who then and now pretend to lead our once great institutions.

Who will rid us of the curse that hangs over our island paradise?

I agree, BUT, What you are trying to say gets diluted and looses its appeal and the logic turns up side down, UNFORTUNATELY, when you drag the name of a highly respected buddhist monk Madihe Pannaseeha and trying to compare him with whom you have compared with.

Poor and orphaned Sinhalese children given up to become bhikkus are depraved individuals who were denied the enjoyment of childhood pleasures with their parents and other kids.

They also grow up with older monks and may have been be subjected to sexual abuses as they grew into adulthood. The result is a group of humans with abnormal psychology and their actions may reflect this. With so much reverence shown towards bhikkus by Sinhala Buddhists, they may turn to perverted power seekers as we see in BBS and other such groups. Even Mahanayakes are not aloof of this behavior.

On top of all these handicap they are fed with the poisoned dogma of the notorious Mahanama thero’s devil’s bible. Is is not surprising they turn their anger towards the ‘others’ in the society.

They turn out to be sadistic towards Tamils, Hindus, Muslims and Christians.

Thiru raises a point in the quality of the intake of young Bhikkus. Christianity and Catholicism take young bright youth who wish to enter the Order and train them for years in theology, philosophy etc., and by the time they are ready to be priests they are learned men of the world able to guide their flock through the recurring turbulences and crises of the world. In Hinduism the priesthood is a birthright of the Brahmins going into several centuries of learning of rituals, texts and various sciences of the earth and the universe. One of Buddhism’s weaknesses, if you will, may well be in the quality of its intake into its own Order.

According to Dayan’s article, banned terrorist group BBS is so powerful and also much popular which will come to power soon.

The only person who can stop that is Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is so helpless right now. Therefore he cannot do much about the situation.

Dayan conveniently forgot that there is a violator (by every means) cum civil servant called Gotabaya there to whom the entire Army, Navy the Air force and the Police forces reporting.

Spin doctor Dayan must have thought people would buy his story in giving a clean sheet to Mara and Gota while telling the people that BBS is dangerous.

When did Mara call you Dayan from Bolivia, before or after the ransack?

BTW Dayan – in case you not aware, There are news and proof that Gothabaya called the Police chief few times asking him to put a blind eye. Galaboda Gnanasara also called Gota from his mobile at Aluthgama giving him some updates.
You could add these facts, provided your feelings are genuine, in your next article before THE Brave Tisaranee Gunasekara does.

Dayan should stop this hide and seek game. Either you be brave like TG or lick boots of Mara publicly like Rajpal Abeynaike. You cannot be in between.

@Amarasiri – Absolutely a 3rd party should be involved. Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe asked today in the parliament if the trouble occurred in Aluthgama, why attacking Darga Nagaraya? Isnt it a valid question. Who permited Gnanasara to address a rally? Why the Police and other forces didn’t react at all when the rioters went on rampage?
Either the regime is highly impotent or its the inside work of the regime. In any case its the sole responsibility of the regime.

So a third party need to step in.

“The only person who can stop that is Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is so helpless right now. Therefore he cannot do much about the situation.” THIS IS WHAT SPIN DOC DAYAN TRIED TO SAY IN HIS ARTICLE, in my understanding. Don’t you agree?

Religious Fascism it maybe but the utterly stupid Gotta has not come to his senses. The main reason for this being that the he himself is a Religious Fascist who thinks he can control the situation. The BBS is a creation of the regime. The simplest way to curb this group is to proscribe them and arrest the senior members. But observe that in spite of the derogatory comments made of the president not one arrest has been made so far. A doctor he may be but the author of this article is seriously delusional.

“A careful listening tells me that the BBS project aims at nothing less than state power itself” You should examine your head first as right thinking people in this country knows that “Bodu Balu Sena (Pvt) Ltd is the pet project of Gotabaya Rajapaksha blessed by Mahinda Rajapaksha. Naanasara will continue to do as he is told and one day the same people who protect him now, will take him to find hidden arms.

DJ, Lets cut the crap. If the all Powerful Def Sec Gota wants BBS will be dead this evening. Who nurtured them and funding them is an open secret.
In a nut shell Mara needs BBS badly for his survival.
BBS doesn’t have much backing or support from the public, its only a few jobless jealous racists support them (I hate them and you too hate them too I am sure).

Mahanayakas are silent, the regime didn’t say sorry for not protecting its citizen, no arrested have been so far made. What that implies? Gota master minded it, that’s as simple as that.

Mara from Bolivia tweeting ‘no one should take arms’. What a comedy fellow he is. Is this a fist fight between two men? Cant he call the IGP and give him a stern order or to shoot at the rioters.
Why couldn’t the army use the rubber bullets to disperse the looters. Army STF Police were there as mere spectators. Weren’t they thus indirectly supporting the BBS rascals.

DJ – Why are you protecting the regime, you indirectly saying that BBS is powerful than the regime. Ask a Cop who was on duty yesterday & the day before in Aluthgama Beruwala and you get a reply that they were their to see the rioters were not attacked.

    Mara + Gota + Champika + Rathana + Dinesh = BBS.

    • 10

We don’t need a political sientist here to tell us who is behind the whole scene.
      It is Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
He did time it correctly to when his brother Mahinda is out of the country.
These guys are going to go to any extream to hold on to power, the tail never wagged the dog, don’t tell us BBS has the power over the regime, that is nonsense.

“the day before in Aluthgama Beruwala and you get a reply that they were their to see the rioters were not attacked.”

So, the Muslims need to form Home Guards, so that they can attack the rioters who come to attack them.

      That is self-defense

Stop bull sh….ing Dayan. Why don’t you come out clean and show the people of Sri Lanka & the International community that you are a true diplomat? You are not are you? Leon Trotsky famously said ….. this, someone else said that are not your true feelings or the truth of the matter is it Dayan?.
What you are trying to do is to create an atmosphere favourable to the war criminals and the human rights violators.
It’s not the time to talk about the UNP, JVP, TNA or the DPs’ shortcomings but make them unite as the saviours of a once harmonious happy multicultural society. I think it is a shame you are still inside the cocoon when the brave patriots of the forces gave their lives in thousand to achieve the peace. Shame on you Dayan.

“Those who have renounced the use of force
    in relationship to other beings
whether week or strong, who neither kill nor cause to be killed
can be called great beings” #Dhammapada verse 405

    Aluthgama is not the end.

    It is only the beginning.

BBS is a monster created by the regime.

This monster could not be destroyed until it swallows up the creator.

And DJ,you miserably failed to connect the

crimes? And you are trying to make us
believe that innocent Rajapaksas are at risk
of losing to the Bhikkus who were well
protected by the police and army of any harm
from Mulims? Was Wimalajothi the defense
secretary?I like to bring to your memory how
Sinhala mobs were allowed by the army under
most beloved Dudley,to attack Muslims in the
      clash that happened in Thalapitiya,Galle.
Army was immediately deployed around Devata
so that Muslim mobs don’t go to Thalapitiya
for help.Muslims of Devata,Galle were, that
time the most feared of all gangs. There had
been communal clashes in the south, mainly in
      Galle,Beruwala-Aluthgama,Kalutara and
Panadura throughout history every now and
then. And it is this culture that has been
deviously exploited by the present regime.

    DJ

Why don’t you go through your memory lane and find what were the causes for the Tamil militancy.

Tamil militancy did not exist in 1958- The riot was response to the demands of the Tamils of power sharing with the Sinhalese.

Tamil militancy did not exist in 1977 – The riots against them was for electing the Tamils as the opposition party.

Tamil militancy was at its embryonic stage in 1983- The riots oxygenated a full scale war in Sri Lanka.

Unfortunately, you fail to recognise the failures of the state and have helped it to cover up and prolong its misdeeds.

Now the process has started with the Muslims. Unfortunately your visualisation of facts are cockade and if the troubles progress to confrontation, you will definitely blame it as jhihadi crusade.

Just because you can pull some English words together, you are not a realistic analyst. Instead, get involved in all kinds of unrealistic analysis to confuse the situation.

Please take a long break and rethink your future strategy. Let it be a focussed and reliable one.

DJ is trying to whitewash the actions of the Rajapaksas.

DJ says that “What is most significant about Aluthgama was the speech by the BBS’ Galagodaatte Gnanasara”

So the immediate action of the police should be to arrest Galagodaatte Gnanasara. If they do not arrest him then there is something a bit fishy about the whole operation, pointing the finger at the Rajapaksas.

The operative words in DJ’s piece are: “DERISIVE references to President Rajapakse in GG’s Aluthgama discourse”.

This is an allusion to Buddharakita’s DERISIVE reference to SWRD as “Sevala Banda” in the last few days.

No matter what Dayan J verbosely argues it is clear that the BBS and that mad monk in robes are,at least for the time being mere puppets on a string.Otherwise how does this monk stage some thing spectacular and then go back to his den until the next move? The Penal Code is silent when it comes to him. The cops are paralyzed when it comes to him. There is some patronage being extended for political mileage to be gained.

Let’s look at the present.Who are the puppeteers? There is one man,who Dayan rightly called a Securocrat. He wears a tie, shirt ,pants and a rather expensive pair of Mont Blanc spectacles trying to show himself as just a bureaucrat.Behind this facade is an extremist who’s wildly growing mustache and squinted eyes makes him look even more sinister.

Who is the one behind this Securocrat silently endorsing him?He is a man who is in national and never forgets to wear the satakaya. He too like the Securocrat sports a wild mustache, but unlike the Securocrat has made the habit of pinching the baby and rocking the cradle at the same time into a fine art.His greasy smile can change into a murderous glare equally easily, reveling himself in the process.Having pinched the baby in Aluthgama, he deftly brings his other sibling in satakaya to rock the cradle in talking peace at the Kalutara Kacheri ,after the rocking exercise turned into blue murder. At this meeting the Securocrat is conspicuously and ominously absent.

To digress briefly, Dayan himself has first hand experience of being once on the string of this master puppeteer .Recall the gleeful remark ” Dayan ara Boucher karayata dunna” remark after DJ’s response to a remark made at a meeting with Richard Boucher, former US Assistant Secretary of State; to DJ being instantly dismissed from Geneva after he had outlived his usefulness .

Buddhist monks ,as their role in politics in SL has shown so far, post 1956, have been mere instruments of wily politicians. If they exceed this role and try to wield power by themselves, then they are promptly put in place, as the immediate aftermath of the SWRDB assassination showed. In other words the power of the robe is used in full by politicians.Politicians have not been simply prepared to share power let alone hand over power to the monks. As to whether ,as Dayan says, the politician is going to lose this grip is a new phenomenon ,if at all.For the moment they are on a string. The man with the wild mustache and satakaya is focused on using the BBS, through the man in tie, shirt ,pants and Mont Blanc Spectacles to remain in power .

Oh dear Mother Lanka my heart bleeds for thee.

Oh sush man , there is white van lurking down the street! !!

    Hi all

” Aluthgama was a testing ground. Plan C may be a Manchurian Candidate scenario: the installation as the country’s leader of a personality who can be counted on to approximate Plan A.”

Read between the lines in the above statement. What DJ is telling is this is Gotha’s master plan (Plan C+A)to get the power and rule the country by himself.

    Read this:
“The triggering of anti-Muslim but also anti-minority rioting throughout the country, a military ouster of the Northern PC, a replay of the assassination of SWRD Bandaranaike by a monk in 1959, a situation of chaos and anarchy, may all be part of the plan to seize power or install its preferred ruler.”

Poor big brother is going to be killed by his little brother whom he trust and love so much. I have to feel sorry for the big brother.

Although I never liked the ego stoking DJ but at times he tell all of us something that may happen. Thanks DJ.

it’s hilarious when MARA tweets from bolivia that the govt will not allow anybody to take the law into their hands….that’s exactly what happend in aluthgama, the mob had taken the law into their hands…they continued to break the curfew imposed by the police and attacked and looted muslims & their household and businesses.
as for you DJ,no amount of writings can diminish your responsibilty for the current plight SL finds itself in…you defended a racist govt such as the rajapakses in 2009, and now behold the consiquenses…
one can only imagine the trajedy and destruction of the tamils during the final stages of the war, when you consider the dire situation the muslims in the south have been subjected to,the past few days.

If the government aligns the police and armed forces of the STATE against the fascists then the people will be able to deal with this kind of violence in the way it should be dealt with BUT NO! The GOVERNMENT ALIGNS THE POLICE AND THE STATE ARMED FORCES WITH THE FASCISTS SO THAT NO FASCISTS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED. On the contrary those who resist the fascists are constrained in various ways while the government confers with the fascists and takes joint decisions with them. What is the nature of as government that does so?

Most madpeople could see this coming many years ago but this DJ and his Gramsci refused to see what was staring them in the face. In fact this DJ continues to function as the chief theorist and apologist for the government that walks hand in hand with fascism. This refusal to look at reality, recognize fascism for what it is and oppose it is the dominant characteristic of normality. I shall remain one with the insane rather than demean myself with this “normality”.

Where were the leaders of the victims – the Muslim Politician during the
escalation? Why could not Hakeem – a Cabinet Minister contact a mere
Public Servant (US Gota) and ask him to impose the needed restrictions,
over the `phone and place such evidence to his Party? What part was
played by Lalith and Sajin, working behind scenes. Forget the IGP – he is

King is honoured by G77 (it look like they are living on another planet!)

“President Mahinda Rajapaksa was awarded with the ‘Parliamentary Order Merit Democratic Rep. Marcelo Quiroga Santa Cruza’, the highest honor presented by the Plurinational State of Bolivia, by the Bolivian Government on Monday. The award recognizes contributions to peace and democracy, the President’s Office said.Vice President of Bolivia and President of the Legislative Assembly Alvaro Garcia Linera presented the award to President Rajapaksa at the Legislative Assembly in the city of La Paz.

Bolivia said President Rajapaksa was selected for this prestigious award for defeating terrorism and restoring peace and development in Sri Lanka. It also recognizes President Rajapaksa’s commitment to human rights and his initiative to improve and expand relations with South America, including Bolivia.United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon was also schedule to receive the award. President Rajapaksa was in Bolivia attending the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Group of 77 and China (G77+China) that took place June 14 and 15 in Santa Cruz.”

MR SHOULD ARREST GOTA FIRST. THE MAN BEHIND THE TERRORIST GROUP BBS WHO IMPLEMENTS ISRAELI AGENDA IN SRI LANKA.

  • 0
    4

British Raj made sure Sinhala Buddhists were kept divided long before independence. Political division among Sinhala Buddhists for illogical ideologies had been clearly visible after the independence.

SWRD managed to unite them, but he wasn’t shrewd enough to control the enemies within. And after his demise Sinhala Buddhists got trapped in the same old colonial game. But many Sinhala leaders knew about the Sinhala dilemma just as Mahathir knew about the malay dilemma. Ven Soma, truly a selfless man, knew it more than others. He had a large following; and he was on his way to unite them. But he was made to rest by a gang of evangelists before he could bring Sinhala Buddhists under one banner.

So, Sinhala Buddhists had to wait until MR was elected President and start the war of liberation in earnest in 2006 for them to understand the need for unity. Had not the Sinhala Buddhists united under President MR, LTTE would never have been defeated.

At long last, Sinhalas have realized if united they prevail and divided they are doomed. So, Sinhala Buddhist unity continued under MR after the war to date. Even Hakeem had no choice but to join him for the greater good of his community. Peace and political stability prevailed and economy expanded.

Everyone is happy except the NGO vultures, separatists, evangelists and failed politicians. So long as they’re a minority electorally, who cares.

So, if BBS, SR RB and other patriotic Buddhist forces keep Sinhala Buddhists together without riots and violence for them to elect a patriotic and nationalistic man to the helm that what most Sinhala Buddhists expect of them. And Sri Lanka will no doubt prosper like Malaysia. This is a temporary setback, and they’ll correct themselves.
