JVP To Support No Confidence Motion Against Ravi K

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has decided to support the upcoming no confidence motion against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

The no confidence motion is scheduled to be taken up in Parliament on Wednesday.

JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath told a news conference in Colombo that Karunanayake along with the entire Yahapalanaya government has demonstrated their incompetence in running the country.

“Not only this government, but even the Rajapaksa government must take responsibility for the state of the country’s economy today,” Herath said.

He added that although there were certain parts in the no confidence motion which the JVP was not in agreement, the party will still support the motion because Karunanayake has failed in his job as the minister of finance, and have continued to slap various taxes from an increase in VAT to vehicle taxes which has affected the common man, who no longer can even afford to purchase a three wheeler.

“They promised cars for everyone, now people can’t even afford a three wheeler,” Herath added.

The no confidence motion was handed over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya in March by the Joint Opposition with 37 signatures.

Is JVP inching towards its natural allies in the UPFA, MR, GR, NR, ……… ?

Let us see how JVP legitimises MR faction in the parliament as the official opposition and the justification for forming a lasting future alliance with MR and his crooks.

You know, I am very optimistic today than ever before, after reading BBC web which headlined “Gene editing technique could transform future”

We can change all 21 million most stupidest people to think, urge them do the right thing, stop them from being blind to everything that happens around them, of all gene editing might help to put sanity into you and stop you from being the official b***s carrier to MR and his cronies.

          Brilliant, don’t you think so?

May be, but the Idiocy of Yahapalannaya cannot for ever hide under Mahinda Rajapaksa excesses and loans. People voted to fix it, not aggravate it.

Native, learn to call spade a spade. Do not look at WHO is pointing the wrong but the wrong. Yes people know your agenda which is “Shopping” for the Tamil racism and humiliate Sinhala Buddhists with no proper evidence from the history. But this no confidence to reveal the dumbness of Ravi K. Supporting the move is NOT supporting MR, GR or any Rajapakshes but being in the side of poor man!

          max moron

” humiliate Sinhala Buddhists with no proper evidence from the history.”

Don’t you think the bigoted Sinhala/Buddhists deserved to be humiliated for their one sided and totally fabricated so called history?

“But this no confidence to reveal the dumbness of Ravi K. Supporting the move is NOT supporting MR, GR or any Rajapakshes but being in the side of poor man!”

If you do care about the poor you should approach the clan to repay what they had stolen over 10 years. The problem can be sorted out in no time.

By the way it is my point that JVP should have initiated the no confidence motion and pursued it in the parliament, not the other way round. Now it appears that the JVP is trapped into to supporting the rest of the crooks.

This will take at least two years to sink in your head.

            Native the stupid,

To your colored eye which sees no other opinion I may be a ‘moron’ but my point is simple. It is you and the like minded culprits say the SL history is fabricated. As I always demand, give the evidence in a acceptable manner to claim your donkey logic which deny the S/B roots in north and east of SL. Native I think better be open. Tell us openly that your job is make the mindset of CT readers accordance with your racist masters agenda and your in the pay roll of them.

It is because of that agenda only you non-stop attack rajapakshes and ask the “10 years of looting money”. They may have their share in looting but certainly not in the proportion as your claim. And why do you keep mum over the Yahalapalana looting? Stolen public money is wrong whoever does that. Not it is bad when ONLY rajapakshes do involve with that.

And one more thing: Its is well more than 1 year now. Have you guys were able to reveal a hint of this so called “Rajapakshe and the stolen stolen money” in to the tune of your proportion?

By the way, if the motion is right, who proposed is not relevant. So JVP has taken a right decision at this moment. If you can learn to call a spade a spade, most of your stupid arguments could be answered by yourself. But that wont happen. Your agenda is something else!

“By the way, if the motion is right, who proposed is not relevant.”

You morons conveniently forget many things and selectively support the crooks and the cronies.

              1. What was the hidden agenda behind this no confidence motion.

              2. Why do the morons want to have two oppositions, and part of the crooks from SLFP are in the government and the rest are in the opposition. If the other crooks want to be the opposition, let them resign from SLFP, form a new party, contest elections, form the new opposition, ….. challenge the government, … . These morons being part of the same party want to have the cake and eat it.

What a stupid logic? What a moronic precedent?

3.Their judgement may be right or wrong, however, I simply question their intentions.

              4. Actually, these morons have no moral right to question the present government when they themselves were not known for good governance.

              Their hypocrisy knows no bound.

              5. Well, I don’t remember opposition mounting a single no-confidence motion against the government from 2005 to 2015, while Gota was the defence secretary managing the large white van fleet.

              6. Moron, about your perverted history all I have to say is this, “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread” Once you have wisened up we will deal with it.

I have no objections to you being appointed the klan’s chief b***s carrier, however, KASmaalam K S Sumanasekera has already been in the job, 24/7/52 basis.

                Native the fool

You should be awarded for writing rubbish! And using “the theory of eel” to escape from the questions being raised. Labeling MR faction as “crooks” is easy but proving is otherwise. Naked reason for your repentance is more than your stance against corruption but under his 10 years he made sure terrorism is no more in this country.

Will take one by one of your stupid points:

                1. Whats the hidden agenda?
Nothing to be hide. Short time goal is to reveal the incompetency of the current govt. and long term goal is send them home.

                2. Why no a separate political party?
Yes if that had happened before Aug 17, last year, MR would have been the opposition leader if not the PM. I too want them to be moved out from the SLFP which is a deadbody by now. The traitor MS had made sure, there’s no SLFP anymore. (99% of supporters of SLFP are now with MR).

                3. JO’s intention?
They might be planning various things to send the current losers home. Nothing wrong with it as long as their activities are accordance with democracy.

                4. Moral right of JO?
If I were to take your stupid argument, can you tell me how on earth CBK, RW, RK, Rajitha etc., etc., came forward to topple previous regime?

                5. Then opposition mounting a pressure to previous govt?
Better go and check your memory? I think your running out of that vital part of the human body due to day and night work to hammer Sinhala Buddhists and specially Rajapakshes for the simple reason they were instrumental to send the LTTE where they belonged to.

                6. History?
As I always say it is easy to tag people with various absurd titles. Giving proper evidence is not as easy as shit on the pages of CT.

Fool, your a part of the band that work day and night to deny the SB identification from this soil. Your now revealed. A plain cloth hypocrite who has no ability to gauge things in a balanced manner. What else I can expect from a self-made theoretician of Tamil racism in the name of ‘native vedda’?

      JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake,

“Yes. It is time to shoot. However he will be protected by the camouflage.”

This is why. Colombo district preferential votes 2015 General election and read below.

      Ravi Karunanayake – 111,394
      Anura Kumara Dissanayake – 65,966

Ravindra Sandresh Karunanayake, MP (born 19 February 1963) is a Sri Lankan politician. He is the current Minister of Finance and a Member of Parliament for the Colombo District. Karunanayake was the former Cabinet Minister of Commerce, Consumer Affairs from 2001 to 2004. He is the Assistant Leader of United National Party (UNP) and its chief organizer for the Colombo North Electorate in Colombo District

      Political career

In 1988 and 1989, Ravi was in active politics and helped Lalith Athulathmudali to win his seat in Colombo District. In 1991, ten MPs including Athulathmudali and Gamini Dissanayake left the UNP Government headed by President Premadasa and formed the DUNF. When Athulathmudali was assassinated in April 1993, his wife Srimani Athulathmudali took over. And then Gamini Dissanayake re-joined the UNP. Srimani along with the ‘DUNF-Lalith Front’ joined the People’s Alliance under Chandrika Kumaratunga at the General Election in 1994.

In the election two MPs in the national lists were given to the DUNF, and that was the time buoyant young Ravi Karunanayake received his ticket to enter the Parliament of Sri Lanka. Kesaralal Gunesekara was the other DUNF MP who got appointed along with Ravi. In 1996, Srimani was removed from the Cabinet by President Chandrika Kumaratunga, and simultaneously Srimani and her party had a dispute over the affiliation to the Government. Ravi was more towards the UNP, and as a result Srimani sacked him from the DUNF-Lalith Front. However, through a court order, Ravi was able to become an Independent MP in 1998-1999. With the dissolution of Parliament in 1999, he joined the UNP, and became the organiser of Kotte. He won the Kotte seat with 425,000 votes. He won the ‘Young Politician of the Year’ awarded by the Jaycees Colombo in the year 2000.

In the General Election held in the year 2001, Ravi became the Minister of Trade, Commerce and Consumer Affairs. Along with the fall of the government in the year 2004, the UNP lost the portfolio, but Ravi has remained as a Member of Parliament.

Following the election of Maithripala Sirisena as President in 2015, he was appointed as a Minister of Finance. He present the controversial interim budget soon after.

News: Government Group to vote against NCM

      By Ravi Ladduwahetty

The Government Parliamentary Group in its entirety, comprising both the UNP and the SLFP MPs, which met on Monday unanimously assured both President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe that they will vote against the……No Confidence Motion against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake when it is brought in Parliament today (8).

“We have all assured the President and the Prime Minister of our wholehearted support against the motion and we will stand as one in support of Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake, authoritative political sources told Ceylon Today last night.

Extensive discussions were also held at the meeting on the measures which have been taken by the Government to counter the No Confidence Motion and we will make it a win-win situation for all, where we will convert the motion into one which will be full of confidence on the government. These sources also said that President Maithripala Sirisena has also agreed for the Government Group which comprises the two main parties to meet on a monthly basis and for the two main parties to meet independent of the other as and when the need arises. It was also agreed at the meeting to discuss and iron out differences between the two parties and also other intra-party differences of opinion as well. Discussions were also held on the Parliamentary business for this week and also measures on strengthening the government as well, sources said.

It was also proposed that whatever regulations that Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake brings are discussed with President Maithripala Sirisena and Premier Wickremesinghe and with their approvals prior to the formal announcement as well.

The issues in relation to the action and the decisions of Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran in relation to the economy were also discussed extensively, and the Government being in an embarrassing situation as to what and who was right at the time that the Opposition was leveling charges against the government and the need for being informed of the real situation was also taken cognizance of.

However, no firm decision has been taken at the meeting on Mahendran’s removal or continuity.

Concern was also expressed about the series of amendments which were made to Budget 2016 before and after it was passed, and it was also agreed that the SLFP in Government is also consulted in the formulation of the Budget, which political sources described as one of the conditions for support of the SLFP in Government to Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake when the NCM is taken up today. It was also pointed out that there were many worldwide examples of actual conditions and strategies being changed with changing global conditions in contrast to what were planned in Budgets.

After taking that LKR 25 Lakhs , which Wije handed over to Prince Anura from the UNP treasury safe at Srikotha, the Prince is dead as a Dodo..

And his under cover trip to Ireland to form a JVP branch hasn’t given his any relief either..

I mean if the Prince went to China and apologized like Batalanada Ranil did, the good Chinese leaders would have pulled a few strings.

Cant wait to see whether the Prince will front up to the Yahapalana Parliament, on the day of the vote…

It was so even when they were screaming for the indian monkey force to go home!
We knew that this ‘jahapalanam’of Ranil/Ravi the their lot of jugglers of public finances is incompentant and that why we tried our best to keep the MR government in power despite his shortcomings.
AKD has suddenly waken up to realize the incompetancy of this government! this is the only bulls**t politics they know, get ponna Ranil on the platform and they get the chance to batter him.

“Don’t give us baby talk NV.You know as well as every one else that the JVP is in the lap of mother india.”

No one likes to be in mother India’s lap, however Mother Hindia is the safety net for the Tamils as well as Sinhalese.

If you go back a few years you will see all politicians and armed groups including JVP and the armed forces were indebted to Mother Hindia without exception.

My point is that leave Mother Hindia alone and build bridges in order to reach out to the people of India (which is not the same as Hindia).

Unless JVP and its leaders acknowledge and unreservedly apologise to the people for their past mistakes (including the support they gave to MR and his cronies), people will not trust them.

JVP has lot of thinking and homework to do, needs to take principle positions even it means defeat at the polls.

For example, JVP opposed and opposes Provincial Councils, however it regularly contests and enjoys the benefit of being part of the political arrangement.

It hasn’t changed its outdated lessons, particularly the 5th lesson which describes the upcountry working class people of being the 5th column of India.

The JVP is not an innovative political party, simply just another Sinhala/Buddhist racist party which hides itself behind socialist ideology, not a good cover.

It appears that JVP and its leadership want to make a fresh deal with MR and his cronies.

If it is worth the salt, it has to be proactive, innovative, receptive to new ideas, come up with real solutions to real problem, accept the reality that the world is changing, changing very fast with advances in science, technology, communication, production, distributions, new ways of doing old things and new ways of doing new things, ………..

The JVP is is stuck in the past, we need a leadership which is honest and futuristic.

        Dear Native,

Poor Soma was persona nongrata in the West, when the only Dalit Leader of the UNP was massacring his fellow comrades and burning them in Tyre Pyres.

So starving in Thamil Nadu was better than turning into pure carbon.

After getting that 25 Lakhs UNP cash in LKR of course, from Heavy Hitter Wijedasa , Prince Anura not only has been carrying Batalanda’s B***.s, but also polishing them and presenting them to Yahapalana suckers, in pristine condition.

So there is no need to see Jeyalalitha and get the Nadu dole.

High time JVP came out from its unholy alliances of the past. JVP also played communal politics coyly aligned with the now totally discredited MR and his coterie of rogues. The alignment with the Yahapalanaya is also bad as yahapalanaya has now well and truly metamorphosed into Yamapalanaya.

High time JVP started branching out on its own. Time that they put all needed pressure to ferret out all the rogues that are running (sorry ruining)the country in political garb.

It is also high time JVP started supporting people like Nagananda Kodituwakku who single handedly is trying to do the right thing by the people of Sri Lanka.

I thought JVP will improve its image with he departure of Vimal Boruwanse cum Wimal Booruwanse. Unfortunately its spots have not changed.

JVP is like a stay dog barking all the time on issues that it should keep away. Very soon it will mollycoddle with Mahinda to extend his agenda.

Failures are pillars of failures for JVP. It needs more of them to occupy the back seat in politics.

When Ranil attempts to install embarrassing neo-cultural charades, then monetary system also follows suit in an attempt to keep up.

For banking and other financial systems to work for the country, culture of the Masses has to be thought of honorably. Otherwise, common man of the soil’s money is not taken seriously.

But decent public transportation for the ordinary man is paramount over three-wheelers. We hope Yahapalayana is doing that with the Vat.
