A massive demonstration and rally were held by the JVP today (25th) under the theme ‘Deplore budget gimmicks – Give relief to masses!’ to protest against the anti-peoples budget presented by the President to Parliament.
The demonstration that commenced from Punchi Borella Junction marched to Hyde Park where a well attended rally was held.
JVP Trade Union Leader K.D. Lal Kantha, Member of the Political Bureau Anura Dissanayaka and the General Secretary Tilvin Silva addressed the rally.
A large crowd including members of the party, its trade unions and other organizations were present.
