Malwatta Chapter Mahanayaka, Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera said politicians should think of retiring at the correct time as politics is not a profession one does for a lifetime.
The Thera made this comment when deputy minister of Justice Sujeewa Senasinghe visited the Malwatta temple in Kandy today to seek the blessings of the prelate.

Of all the time as from January 8, it was only today we ACTUALLY realize how much we miss Mahinda Rajapaksa, how much we miss his overwhelming presence, how much we miss his attractive, imposing appearance, how much we miss his mesmerizing smile, how much we miss his powerful voice, how much we miss his fighting spirit, how much we miss his white national dress and ‘satakaya’, how much we miss the aroma of ‘kurahan’, how much we miss his stately mien, how much we miss his towering personality, how much we miss his strong words, how much we miss his reassurance to the nation, how much we miss his kind words to pheasants, youth and children. Good Gracious, we all miss Mahinda hell of a lot, people.
I wish August 17 arrives super-fast. I can’t bear this deafening quietude and darkness engulfed our country for the last 7 months. I can’t wait to see Mahinda Rajapaksa’s expertise in saving our country from peril brought about by the “Good Governance” government, I can’t wait to see the recommence of all stalled development projects, I can’t wait to see the presence of working masses in these projects, sound of their lively voices and sound of machinery at work, all over the country, I can’t wait to see Mahinda Rajapaksa starting from where he left on the January 8! I can’t wait to see the ‘positive change’ he undoubtedly bring into our country.
Mahinda’s first official speech on election stage attached a great importance. The world was waiting to hear what he says, today. I love Mahinda for not mentioning the word ‘Sirisena’, in his speech, not even once. That was super clever of him. The mere mentioning of this most hated name would have given Sirisena an undue prominence. Mahinda completely ignored the useless puppet! That was brilliant, simply brilliant.
Mahinda is the only leader who has become a part and parcel of the daily life of people. There was no other leader who was as close as him, to people. We regard him as the ‘Majestic Lion’ on our National Flag. That is the greatest honour we could proffer him.
The entire country look up to him. Mahinda is our role model for nobility, strength, courage, determination, will power, unlimited patience and amazing tolerance. The gigantic crowd came to Anuradhapura is a clear proof of as to how DESPERATELY people want him back. I wish him all the very best from the bottom of my heart. Mahinda is going for an astounding victory on August 17.
Oops! I am sorry, I almost forgot to mention that Ranil was ‘starkly undressed’ by every speaker at today’s rally in Anuradhapura. If Ranil is smart, he will withdraw his candidature citing ‘indisposed’, if he wants to avoid the imminent disgrace.

You have just shown your pathetic mentality. I was generous in my appreciation to Mahinda which he fully deserves. What I wrote was exactly what I felt while listening to his speech. Most of the people gathered in Anuradhapura cried when they saw him on stage. Mahinda has an amazing personal touch with all his loyalists which I hardly see in any other leader.
Many UNPers and JVPers are envious of Mahinda because their leaders can’t hold a candle to Mahinda. UNPers have never been grateful to Ranil. Instead, for years and years they frantically trying to chase him out. Nobody loves Ranil. At one point his supporters even stoned “Sirikotha”. The difference is, people’s love for Mahinda is limitless. Even after his defeat, people admitted that a mistake was done and urged Mahinda to come back.

You don’t know Mahinda, for sure. He doesn’t give promises for small benefits. He gave only two outstandingly crucial promises :
