Mahinda R, My Sympathy For You Has Turned Into Disgust

Mr Rajakaksa, I may sympathize with your circumstances but when you start dragging my good name in to the mud, when I am not involved in any of your present political problems, is when my sympathy turns to disgust. You were our former Executive President, but yet you slander me without any basis, simply because your son has been arrested.

Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa,

Member of Parliament

Carlton House

Tangalle

Mr Rajapaksa,

First let me say that, as a parent myself, I empathize with your wife and yourself on Yoshitha’s current legal status. Having said that I do not know whether Yositha is guilty or innocent until the court decides. Since it is an on going legal case I prefer not to refer to it in any way.

I remember during the last General Election you resorted to doing the same. I did not arrest your son Mr. Rajapaksa, nor did I make you lose the election, you did it all by yourself with the help of your family.

My revered parents President Premadasa and Mrs Hema Premadasa, did a stellar job in raising my brother and myself to respect and uphold the law of God and the law of the Land. I did not need your supposed advice about leading an upright lifestyle because my parents carried out that duty brilliantly. You should advice your children as their parent about leading their lives in a manner, whichbefits their position in society.

My brother and I were also a Prime Minister’s children and an Executive President’s children who never even imagined abusing our positions. Young as we were, our mother always reminded us that our father was a public servant while holding the offices of Prime Minister and President.

Mr Rajapaksa, you are well aware as I that I am innocent. You seem to think that you have a right to play around with my name when you have run out of excuses. This is unacceptable and dishonourable. If you are a credible lawyer you should know that I am not an accused and that this particular matter is an on-going court case and as such legally we cannot discuss it. Even you, now, must adhere to the law of our country.

My late father‘s service and dedication to this country is unparalleled to any of his predecessors or successors. Whether you agree or not is of no importance. I know you attempted to match my late father’s achievements and the few instances I have briefly spoken with you, if you recall, I have said that you were not even close to achieving it but I had commended you on your attempts to serve our country and stop the war. Let me remind you that you were successful in ending the war because your predecessors had laid the foundation for you to do so. Do I need to remind you that my dear father was assassinated by the LTTE ? To date my late father is the highest ranking Sri Lankan who was a victim of terrorists. This shocked the International Community so much that the support for the LTTE started to wane. This happened because President Premadasa lived and worked for the masses without hiding in ‘palaces’.

Mr Rajapaksa, one must face situations and not hide behind baseless accusations directed at innocent people. I would like to request you to please uphold your dignity and desist from making such comments again. I am aware that this is not the first time you have done it and this is not the first time I have requested you not to do it. I sincerely hope and trust that this will be the last.

Whenever your children’s activities are questioned by legal authorities, press and the law abiding citizens of this country, it is not right for a former President like you to duck and dodge without giving viable explanations. All you have done recently is to throw mud at me. You told me personally then, that I was the victim of the crime and not the criminal.

Furthermore, your false and arrogant claims of your letting me free when according to you, I was wrong, tantamount to a serious crime which can place you in jail for interfering in the course of justice and a police investigation.

Finally, let me remind you again that this matter is before COURTS and is accordingly subjudice and any comment on this is liable for contempt of court.

Please convey my regards to Mrs Rajapaksa.

    Way to go, Dulanjalee!

Breeding tells – and obviously the lack of it is amply demonstrated by the Rajapakses!!

Yes the cases that are being investigated must not be criticised.

He is a lawyer – at least to book. Why has he been behaving so ? Now becoming an another Mervin filling out the blank left by Mervin ?

Man, now only people of this country would study, what Rajapakshe men had been doing all along.

I too, heard twice or thrice Rajapakshe adding the remarks about the horasalli made by Premadasa offpsrings – I really dont know think those kids having gotten the education in UK would need to behave so. May be the issue is so complicated so that it needs time to investigate.

IT appears to me as if the kettle is calling the pot black.

Most likely both the pot and the kettle, and the pans that go with them are all black.

They need through scrubbing to make them clean. Who has the will to do it?

Was Rajapakse good when he rescued you from the counterfeit charges, madam?

Your father’s madness brought Ranil in to power and your brother is no better.

Rajapakse family is probably better than your family, including your mother and one Wijesena.

This must have cost some money. Brother Sajith with a London uni education can barely muster a few sentences in English.

The author’s claim of slander and guilt by association is valid.

That said, these are not babes in the woods.

The painting that came up for sale in London comes to mind. The property at Galle face also comes to mind.

Dulanjalee, we are not all fools. We know crooks when we see them, bluster notwithstanding.

That is no right. Upul. I have listened to him several times. Dont just attack personalities just because your are gifted a healthy tongue. Why should a president of a state to fall that level ?

Remember the days – Rajapakshe allowed Buruwanse to call ” AYYO SIRISENA” was that at all ethical ? so low level politicians would go for the kind of attacks. All these were made by Rajapakshe – THE MOST KNOWN MAFIA KING OF THE DAY.

Street boys of the kind Buruwanse would do anything to please their god father. Needless to say, this bugger, Buruwanse di dnot have even a push bicycle at the time, he started to maralathoni and twist the nation. However, to date, to have collected sums that the average cant even imagine should be investigated.

Upul, what sort of English are you talking about? I know that Sajith hardly ever speaks in English, at least in public.

However, I have heard him speak English; and I can tell you that he is one of the most fluent speakers of English in the country. Perhaps, his English is a little too British. I think that that is the only reason why he hides his English from the public.

I agree and very true. I too have heard him speak in English, and he has a lot of classiness and eloquence on par with Oxford or Cambridge education. But, as you said, he hardly swings the sword in recent times, so we more often hear him dispense more in the vernacular.

Sure Sajith is a gentleman and speaks excellent English. It has to be acknowledged though, he attended an elite school in Sri Lanka, an expensive private boarding school (Mill Hill College) in England and attended lectures at London School of Economics. It is fair to say that he spent most of his youth in England surrounded by people who spoke posh English. However, Ms Premadasa could explain how her dear father from humble background, who to his credit became a popular prime minister and president of Sri Lanka managed to pay vast sums for Sajith’s education/long vacation in the UK (given fees and lodging at Mill Hill College and London School of Economics would have exceeded her father’s salary by a fair margin).

With all respect to Premadasa Junior, looking at the manner he progresses, but we would never forget the mis administration of Premadasa senior towards end of 89. HOw many of the youth be them unigrads or others went missing. One father got mad not being able to realize that his only child went missing – he was my good school mate (Richmond College)- 2nd year medical student – -, my parents later said to me, youth that had no records to have been connected with JVP facistic activities – but were beheaded for their anger. It was like a devilish situation. jvp Wasantha Samarasinghe s speeches tremours me even today. They are so harsch as they would not be living in the country. Good is that bringing anyone that go against to the prevailing law and order systems, but not in a violent manner. Nobody should have right to take the life of the other. I even today, pray and remind my good old batchas went missing during my dates at Peradeniya.

We even today are not clear JVPers or UNP thugs did the killing job. My friends went missing thought I had the chance to escape my life leaving the country for Europe not as an asylum seeker but a student. None of the extravaganza project such as Gam Udawa or the like were praised the nation except distribution of houses to the poor. THough the house were not even bigger than to a rat hole in some schemes, but it was a good thing, and something for the poor that are less fortune.

Sure, all manners that MR regime held was even worst than that of Premadasa senior. But it is still the backing of predominant stupid folks of the nation. And the media has twisted anything and everything in favour of Rajapkashe. I really dont know why ?
Lanken journalists (majority of them) even today are so biased… or are made dependent to Rajapakshes. All in all, studying them closely, i feel Rajapakshes deserves jail sessions. They should finally be learnt to respect dignity of life.

In terms of Premadasas langauge skills – you may be right.

But be informed, he is not the most qualified person to lead the nation. He has to achieve it having collected lanken kind of political exp. And may be he had followed few lectures at London college or the other colleges, but he has no whatsoever, completed degree on his academic achievements.

            If you say yes –

            a) Today, they discuss almost many things not being that biased as had been before

Even on TV, more of Rajakashes are being discussed than the developments of the current leaders.

b)Incumbent president stays as there exist no prez.. he is not going to open every toilet or the like putting his name on the hanging board

c)Incumbent president let Cabinet to work and make decisions, if only his support is must he reacts

            d) Media – is mixed, still proxy Rajapakshe than anti Rajapakshe among the volume of the press

            e) AMong those have/had been taken to custody

            former president son
A brother of ruling minister Arjuna

and everyone is there Breaking APE MINIHA PRINCIPLE – breaking our man priciple

            f) No white vanning is given upper hand

            g) Only what I cant see tangibly is higher show offs.

            h) Asterity measures are being introduced not second to Greece. There President has become exemplary…

Do all 60 mio speak Queens langauge in UK are gentleman ?

What are the criteria someone to call as gentleman ?

Colonial mentalities make you guys feel it is fine so long you speak in English ?

Statistically – German langauge is spoken by over 100 millions in Europe.
English is spoken only in UK as native speakers.

As it is the case that defeating LTTE has allowed Rajapakshes to loot the nation, UK as colonial masters feel even today that their laugange is above other langagues. Our men in developing worlds are made fools as nothing can help them reverse.

Econimists are in the view, next fall would be either Portugal or UK. These two states in Europe are comparably so down as Greece.

Actually English langague skills must not be a barrier if the person is an exp. politician. Please see how French, German and Spanish leaders act. They dont care not being able to converse well in English. Dr Merkel is the most powerful female leader – does not hold her speeches in English. Her academic qualifications are brilliant – comparable to that of an associate Prof (Physics).

Are you a moron? Listen to his English interviews – they are far more eloquent and less jarring to the ear than even his boss Ranil W’s. This guy is a quiet but deadly chap as he keeps out of the eye of controversy while slowly building up a massive following at grassroots. I see him becoming a major political force in the next ten years.

Upali: I heard the whole speech of Sajith Premadasa (thanks to Rajjeeva). Please man enough to apologise! The man is not referring to his notes. He comes up with well structured sentences and elite vocabulary. I shouldn’t be judgemental, but I am not sure whether you could speak at this level.

      Nailed it Vishvajith.

What an epic rant from Dulanjalee. Not to mention former King Kong’s “benevolence” towards Premedasa offspring. To escape the law from serious financial fraud which is currency note printing.

Look at all these corrupt individuals, political families, their cronies & henchmen. Who has the time to listen to their endless rants? And shameless glorification of themselves. It is all about them. All the freakin’ time.

Applies equally to Premadasa, Rajapassa and a lot of others.

We have given these monkeys the privilege of governing this beautiful country. That is what is unbelievable. Should not be repeated.

One can only weep or rather throw up in disgust, when thinking about it.

      Cheers!

        I agree Ben.

These folks have the gall to whine. Why their ilk are not sanctioned by the courts is the tragedy of our beloved Nation.

I don’t know how you feel, I think DBW was the best President SL ever had. He calmed the Nation post Premadasa, allowed people to have a free and fair election and moved along. I am told some Uncle Nephew Party stalwarts are still pissed at this decision.

Thanks for your response to my line.

        Cheers.

DBW for sure set the standard for others to follow.

Ironically, though not surprisingly, he ended up earning “The Wrath” of the scoundrel that infests Uncle Nephew Party to this day.

          Cheers!

Remember the days that VERY SAME FORMER president attacked RW – at the time, legitimacy of contesting him 3 terms were discussed ?

There this shameless bugger, betraying the decent nation, could not control his cesspit – but said, ” I have proved having done it 3 times” – what he meant was .. he has produced 3 sons by matting to his wife. Can you imagine ?

That was the day, I thought, these are truly rascals- Just because you dont have kids means – must not be attacked in that way. No right him to fall that level – he is a president, that has to behave E-X-E-M-P-L-A-R-Y- but MR never thought he was the president for 22 000 000 of lankens. JuST because god allowed him to have tongue, he must not add his two cents worth in that way – especially as president, he has to behave in compliance with conventional regualations.

Ranasinghe Premadaa was born in Keselwatte, Colombo, to a poor family.
When he died, he left an estate worth Rs. 240 Million.
This was in the media at that time.

    • 12
      1

I thought Ranasinghe Premadasa was no good.

But having watched the way Rajapakshe behaved. My anger became mild.

We then pera batchmates left home everytime they called strikes and subsequent closures without fuurther information. Ran away home leaving our all the belonging in Hilda Obeysekara hall. I was then punich kolla not knowing the gravity of the problems. We hated Premadasa Regime to that time. But now I see, there are also some good work introduced by Prez Premadasa. Srilanka is a poor country even if some would go aon saying it is now a midincome nation. Majority over 60% live in poverty not having a daily wage not exceeding to 5 Dollars. So distributiion of houses to thoese poor families were one of the high commendable thing that premadasa fulfilled. He may have abused some funds, but compared to those of Maharaja et al – not even 5% was grabed by Premadasa.

Premadasa Junior, I respect today, listening to his dedicative talks and hard work – he will become a good leader – with the time is my hope. Now he has changed his stance to some extent. Just being offsprings of a former leader – without having gone through all the hurdles, falling to lanken politics can damage everything: The ladder should de there everyone to step up into politics in a systematic way.

    • 11
      2

Fair enough, a Keselwatte pavement man amassed 240 million rupees.

But, Mahinda said he is externally grateful to Chamal, because Chamal joined the Police Department to feed the sibilings. Mahinda worked as a junior person in a court library. Even when he went to Geneva he had to settle in the old sofa of Tamara Kunanayakam. But his family and his cronies are multi billioners, not in rupees, but in dollars, pounds and euros.

If Premadasa is a swindling prince, Rajapakses are swindling Maharajas.

Well done Ms Dulanjalee Premadasa for standing up against Ex President, lawyer cum MP. It is good for the country.

Better late than never. It is high time for MaRa , his bros and sons to gracefully retire from politics. 4th of Feb is auspicious day for them to make that decision.
I was told Dayan Jayatilake was trying hard to create problems within UNP, so that Maithiri- Rani coalition fails. But Dayan failed.
Now it looks like Dayan is going to join HLDM in Melbourne.

Dayan sounds to have been fallen on his nose by today. Do we have anyone to compare with Dayan Jayathilaka – self boasting nature – self proclaimed doctor, analyst, strategist, senior diplomat, senior in creeping tactics and and.

Yesterday, I happened to listen to a programme where he was the guest.

There, he used this term ” Ranil is not an unintelligent person” and he ” he is well red” etc. Sofar, this MALICIOUS colombian has only been on attacking RW for mostly no reasons but to revenge on his pvt agendas/vendettas.

//President JR lead a decent life and no one even knows his sons name coz thats how it should be//

Really? JR lead a decent life??

This is the man who said, in 1983 that, “Really if I starve the Tamils out, the Sinhala people will be happy”. He did not talk about the rebels, but Tamils! Yes, he said his people would be happy, bringing disrepute for the whole Sinhala population as their representative!

Ravi Jayewardene was involved very deep in the dealings of JR. The Tamil people knew about his involvement in setting up the Special task Force. Ravi was a keen follower of Israel and he wanted to bring the Israeli model to Sri Lanka. Ravi got himself a lot of Tamil land in the East, in the border villages to set up STF camps. He took prisoners and criminals from the South and settled them in those border villages. LTTE was not attacking the border villages at that time. Actually, the militarised thugs, encouraged by Ravi Jayewardene doctrine who started these attacks against border Tamil villages.

Traditionally, Sri Lanka was a friend of the Palestinians. Keen cricket followers may remember that Sri Lanka took a principled stand and refused to play against Israel in a cricket match during the ICC Trophy (pre-Test status time). But, Ravi brought not only Israel into the picture, but also their intelligence. Rajan Hoole documented some aspects of Ravi’s involvements in a Colombo Telegraph article (see the link below). Wikipedia states, “Ravindra “Ravi” Vimal Jayewardene is their only child, he was an Officer in the Sri Lanka Army and served as the Presidential Security Adviser. He was a notable marksmen, pilot and the founder of the elite Special Task Force.”

The Editor of Asian Tribune, a paper that is passionately hated by Tamil readers stated in article that, “Ravi Jayewardene openly criticized the IPKF, stating, ‘The Indian Army is responsible for the massacre of the Sinhalese villagers in Trincomalee.’ Sunderji retorted, ‘You shouldn’t be saying such things, you don’t know the facts.’. Ravi Jayewardene- the only son of President J R Jayewardene, was the very person who had armed and trained Sinhalese peasants in Weli Oya (Manal Aru) to fight the Tamils and to chase them from Trincomalee. Therefore, Ravi Jayewardene was very agitated to see Sinhalese criminal elements, who had been sent in to colonize the Tamil areas, being chased out of Trincomalee by the IPKF.”

There were rumours that Ravi was going out with a Tamil girl and JR did not like it. Ravi walked away from the parents, he went to Australia (as if Australia wanted someone just like that!), and to Thailand. He wanted to, or really become, a monk there! Then, he got married to one Penny White, became a Sai devotee, and all. After 1983, Ravi moved to Sri Lanka and became JR’s National Security Advisor!

It takes an effort to look around. Nobody knows JR’s on’s name? Please speak for yourself, mate.

These politicians are all the same.I remember Dulanjalee in the time Papa was big man.She did not have a smile on the faceSo was the brother.Hema had deliberately contrived slit eyes which went to normal position immediately hubby was dead.

Where is the famous Mulkirigala painting that son in law Jayakody style from President’s House and sold in London for nearly 700,000 Pounds? How did Papa Premadasa acquire that luxury house at Wijerama Mawatha,Colombo 7?Perhaps we should ask Killy Mahendran? What happened to Richard de Zoysa? The list could go on and on into reams.

As I said they are all the same. The only difference is that each new leader took corruption and nepotism and murder to greater heights!Dulanjalee, you may have forgotten all of the above but we have not.Look into your conscience please. That is if you do have one.

this reminded me that we then school going kollas woke up by songs sung by Ms Premadasa. To the very same manner – MR s wife had been, Ms Premadasa was acting like a pretty woman to that era. No matter all were hurt but they had all along abusing the TV senders. Actually none of the UNPers fell to that level. It is the family background you come from make it like that. CBK did not abuse lanken TV senders. Her children were not often shown on lanken TV channels. They were good educated among the few.
Had Rajapakshes been born to well natured families, we would not have faced this problem actually. And looking at the manner MR parents have raised their 3 stupid sons – I feel, they are even worst.
Alone the facts that Namal the most abusive son among the 3 has rigorously held CAR RACES creating high volume of sound exposures to all – why ? not knowing the least respect that one should have learnt.. that was not taught to them… they were held like prince. Even today, if Namal opens his mouth only garbage comes out. Sadly, Son like Father.

Compassionate but her point well made. Reading her letter I was thinking back, could not recollect any of the previous PM’s and Presidents kids or siblings acting the way MR’s have done and abused the system.

I am in total agreement with “Sinhala man’s”observation of Sajith and His Command of the English Language probably & most likely Mr.Upul did not understand or have a clue or knew head or tail of English & Shakespeare Language Sajith Spoke….
Mr.Upul I think the English learnt at Milhill also is more than sufficent for the brother & sister to communicate their rights without prejudice to any unfair criticism.

Madame what about if you can find someone in JVP, in turn. They too fished?

The grates Mahindapala and Dayan de Silva are taking the case of old King. Even Mervin Silva is retuning to the Old Royal Camp.

Do you have anybody on that grade? Did daddy introduced anybody to you? Brother is that not behind to Madinhapala, does he?

Anyway be careful before you issue warning to Old King. You don’t know if had taken the file he maintained on with him or left at Temple Tree House before he ran out of there.

Ha ha ha… Sinhala Intellectuals have started to catch one anothers konddai.. Ha ha ha

    Interesting..

Ms P put a question mark after her statement ” My dear dad who did so much for the country was killed by the LTTE ?..

    Wonder why?.

Shouldn’t the Yahapalana PM make a statement on this , because this ? mark has been bugging the inhabitants since Keselwatta Senior and many Sinhala Buddhist Leaders of the this grand old UNP departed.

The lists starts with stalwarts like the real Sinhala Buddhists starting with Ranjan Wijerathna , the real General Kobbekaduwa, General Wimalaratna,Messers Gamini Dissanayaka, Lalith Athlathmudali and a whole host of others who wanted to save the nation from Thamil Terrorism..

Isn’t Finding out how these people were to made to disappear is also important, although not as important as the current investigation in to the disappeared LTTE Tigers and their supporters?.

My Elders tell also me that the current Yahapalana PM was a young apprentice in the UNP Govt then and cut his teeth in Politics in the same era when these leaders disappeared.. Sorry were made to disappear.

Now that this PM has become the most powerful leader of our Nation, who even arrest young people who nicked (??? )off only a few Million of the ever depreciating Yahapalana LKR, and keep our well known Buddhist Priest in the Slammer because they didn’t behave according to the PM ‘s version of Buddhism, isn’t he duty bound to clear up this unsavoury era of the UNP for good.

Oh you foul hypocrite! You spent your time at Lake House with your head firmly up Premadasa’s arse and then switched to MR for the mess of pottage and crumbs you were thrown in exchange for your diabolical lies and propaganda in support of a bunch of thieves.

Don’t talk about the “LTTE and their supporters”, when one of their biggest contributors was your MR who bribed them to win that election and in typical style lied his way to the Presidency.

Get a fornicating life, you Creep of Creeps!

      Votes are taken:
      (A) KASmalam is manupulator
      (B) KASmalam does not understand English
      (C) Both of the above

      I vote C

KASmalam wrote a whole book on this!!!

Pot calling the Kettle black. As far as Preme and MR compared, they are identical twins. They both killed individuals within and outside party for power. Robbed billions of State funds. Collard valuable lands for their families. Abused State Power with absolute impunity. Yet they have the Gaul to come and utter rubbish thinking people have short memories. How the Brother Sajith carried MR’s brief to oust RW from the UNP is not forgotten still. How Hema played Net Ball in shorts displayed in the media and how the Photographer died in an accident is history. AC Lawrence’s 4th floor where many were harassed for dissent, still lingers in my mind. Good that you brought to notice that there is a case for the counterfeit you tried to sell. Readers please keep track on it. Besides how is your Orchid business? Have you switched over to Mihin Lanka?

    Dulanjalee,

Good to see you coming out in public to counter attack MARA.

However your holier than thou stand in this matter does not hold much water.

Your glowing tribute to your late father disguises the fact that about 40,000 young men and women needlessly lost their lives in the most harrowing circumstances during the tenure of your late father.

As a politicians daughter you were also privileged. While most of the citizenry had to do with a vernacular education with a lot of Mahavamsa myth thrown in, in Mahavidyalayas with broken roofs and chronically absent teachers, you and your brother obtained grand educations abroad. I am sure there was no provision for expenses for such in your father’s salary package as either a prime minister or a president.

    And the list goes on.

Anyway it is never too late if you wish to reform yourself.

I am not impressed. All these b****dy former Presidents and their kith and kin think that they own this country and all of us owe them homage and kappan. They go round dictating to us as if they are Gods and Goddesses and giving us a demonstration of their ill mannered public lectures, or if not airing their dirty laundry for all of us to see and smell. Yuck! |Let a plain citizen say something. We don’t care any more. All of you are crooks, and now out of a job, all of you are just another plain Sri Lankan citizen. If you have defaulted then pay the punishment, shut up and GO TO JAIL never mind what you were before. Set an example by going to jail. That is the best all of you could do. Be a proper role model to our younger generation: defaulted? Then be punished properly, so that young kids could watch it and learn their lessons.

      You may be right.
But that is a response like ” koheda yanna malle pol”

What matters is why MR to personally attacked DP ?

Why him to spread lies to win the hearts of vulnerable folks ?

Modayas the majority would believe whatever are being dropped by Raja. That is the reality.

Was n’t it Premadasa that handed over thousands and thousands of guns and ordnance from Sri Lanka Defence Forces over to LTTE, which once used against the Indian troops, were used against our own Sinhala People and SLK Defence Forces by the terrorists. How many thousands of innocent people and military personnel lost their lives through that treacherous act? I do not like MR’s period of corruption and fake kingship after the 2009 decisive victory over the terrorists, but I must give him credit for not betraying his own people to the enemy.

Whatever Premadasa did, whatever Sajith did, one would agree that it is a well-written letter! I also felt that Mahinda did not have to drag Dulanjali, when he was ‘working on’ sajith.

Mahinda Rajapaksa said, he could have easily ruined the political career of Sajith Premadasa, but he didn’t do so. When Dulanjalee Premadasa was caught red handed with a large number of forged, counterfeit currency notes inside a bank, he said, his government had never interfered with the investigation. Mahinda said that he could have remanded Dulanjalee Premadasa and blown up the issue and put an end to her brother Sajith’s political career.

He went onto say that while Dulanjali had escaped Scot-free after possessing a bundle of fake currency notes, a soldier who was caught with a single fake currency note at the time had gone to jail.

Mahinda lamented, however, those whom he protected in the past today are attacking him mercilessly by calling him as a thief.

Huh! He said he protected, he said he did not interfere…. What was going on there?

It just proves without any doubt that law is being manipulated by the politicians for political gains and future self-protection. The country operates a two-tier law enforcement policy. One for the influential and one for the peasants.
I look forward to FM Sarath Fonseka’s arrival as a Minister; he is known as a strict law enforcer, and I hope will deal with all these erring criminals existing at political levels, in parity with all other criminals.

Dear Lady: You are free to communicate with MR; but please refrain from making those communications known to us. At this moment this country has too many things to grapple with and I think, it has just started to roll on even after one year. You can settle your scores with MR; but we have lot to settle with that “Regime”. Please give us that space. Thank you.

Why did you read, mate? Mahinda was unnecessarily making a public comment. This lady has a right of reply. The ‘hot’ media would not give her a run. She quietly sat at home wrote a letter. She wanted us to know, and I am glad she shared. Why didn’t you ask MR for dragging this lady through the mud, suggesting that she was a criminal? She aid someone else gave her the money, and that ‘someone’ was duly punished.

Premadasas were no saints. Did not rob like Rajapakses but were also corrupt. Dulanjali please explain how your Husband company HueJay international was given the entire Nuwara Eliya lake front land and lake water to grow carnations for export. Also Air Lanka Tokyo flight stopped in FUKOKA the Japan flower capital to off load HueJay flowers. They made big profits thru state patronage.

Then Premadasa poverty reduction in action- best example Sajith. Premadasa had no family wealth or property when he entered politics. Only job he held MP, PM, President. The he has a luxurious house in Col 7 and 50 acre coconut in Pannala.
Son Sajith sent to UK for studies. Who paid? Sajith to never did a job. Spent money with donations of sewing machines etc and got the poor peoples vote. Explain his wealth of cars houses?
Also Dulanjalee have you forgotten the gold plated beds etc imported for Gam udawas. See the link below

Wr don’t want to hear your fathers record. He has ruined the country. Were waiting to see a change for good governance. He had a phobia for learned people. He was ver much operated in the same way as MR. Whatever said and done MR has no right to highlight past issues for his benefits when all previous attempts failed.

Appricate your reply and well explained

Ms. Dulanjalee may have some good points regarding the Rajapaksas, however she cannot presume that our memories are bad.

    I quote from Wikipedia:

“The Indian presence on the island was unpopular, and Premadasa requested India to leave. In order to force IPKF to leave the island, he authorized a clandestine operation to supply arms to LTTE according to the report published by the Sri Lankan Presidential commission to inquire into the 1992 assassination of one of the senior most officers in the Sri Lankan army, Lt Gen Denzil Kobbekaduwa.[6] The inquiry also found that Premadasa ordered clandestine supply of arms to LTTE. In the end, LTTE massacred 774 policemen using the same weapons he had given to LTTE (the policemen were asked to surrender to LTTE in Batticaloa at Premadasa’s request).[7][8] After the IPKF left in 1990, the government’s war with the LTTE resumed, and resulted in stalemate.”

Not a stellar record eh? It seems all Sri Lankan Presidents are as bad as each other, and a disappointment to the people who keep voting for them.
