Reports indicate the Rajapaksas are making preparations to pay through the nose to create a spectacle of the campaigning activities for the upcoming Presidential elections.
Lankacnews – a news website owned by Government Minister Wimal Weerawansa has reported that ‘3D projection’ technology is being considered to be used for Mahinda Rajapaksa’s upcoming Presidential election campaigning activities.
The use of this cutting edge technology will enable him to address several rallies around the country, live and simultaneously, with the added advantage of the ability to project a scalable holographic-like display of him.
The report further states that discussions are underway between top UPFA officials and officials of several tech companies that offer this technology to consider the feasibility of the plan.

This reminds me of a man in the village where I used to live. He worked as a chauffeur to an area medical doctor. One day he ended up willing the lottery. There was only one lottery at the time and the winnings were enormous. The first thing the guy did was to buy a brand new car; which was fine, but buying the exact model as what the doctor was driving was a clear indication the guy wanted to stick it to his previous employer.
Soon he had friends that he never knew he had before, his house was a non-stop party and soon the car had loud music and so many light it looked like a float at the Macy’s Parade. The doctor meanwhile quietly switched to a different type of car. It didn’t take long for this guy the blow off all the lottery winnings.
He ended up selling the car, his wife had an affair with one of his “party friends” and his daughter ran away with another guy. His son got into booze and he ended up broke. The irony is he ended up having to go to that same doctor to ask for his old job back.
Rajapaksa reminds me so much of this driver guy. The funny thing is the money he is blowing off is not even his.
