According to Daily Mirror report, the army Major Chandana Pradeep , who is a witness in an assault case, was questioned by Magistrate Kansihka Wijeratne before the two suspects in this case was released on bail. The Magistrate asked major why he recanted on his earlier statement that the two suspects had assaulted him.
The major responded saying he was under shock at the time he made his complaint to the police. The Magistrate asked him how an army intelligence unit officer with more than 15 years of service could suffer from shock. Then the major said it happened because he was bleeding and traumatised at the time.
The Magistrate said even though a settlement had been reached between the two parties, would not be considered as over because of the robbery charge that is still pending.

He directed the police to investigate the matters mentioned in the complaint made by the army major and also check the CCTV footage on the incident before they submitted their report to court on September 24.

The police were also directed to tell court the action that would be taken against the army major.

Army will not be able to hide this longer – since they did not adequately focus on the deaths of several Army men occured recently through land slide – nevertheless calling special investigations on the matter in which Major was assulted by Malayaka SILVA – will have to pay more attention. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Absc8cmbDR4 Perhaps, Mevin himself intended to sweep this issue under the carpet because his illegal drug dealings would have been revealed – if the issue was not ended in that way.

We can sing that song again and again “this is srilanka under Thug administration driven by MR and his thugs ministers”. Poor Major who is said to have never health problems earlier in identifying people will be the victim of the incident. This is just an another recent incident for IC to look at CLOSELY the nature of lanken crime investigations – in an episode the country is under scrutiny being charged by UN resolution. God Bless to Lanka.

Agree this matter smells rotten and should be investigated by the IC. The Major should be polygraphed by outside experts but if this recantation is shown deceptive, it would appear he has been put under pressure to recant. Coddling connected criminals is unacceptable in a democracy like Sri Lanka. Objective evidence suggests this is a privileged thug run amok. No he did not kill or rape anybody like the Pradeshya Sabya guy down in Tangalle, but he just might if he escapes culpability for this incident.

What goes around comes around. It is a pay back time for the war crimes committed by the Major, may he pocket it out some extra cash from those culprits to drop the charges.

Right now for Sri Lankans who are disgusted with this horrible family have only one option. Build a broad people’s movement under General SF’s leadership. But, I am very worried about General’s health. Not least his security. Remember what happened to Benazir Bhutto. And General Janaka Perera. I do not trust the ruthless ruling family clan one bit, anymore. Sri Lanka, just 3 years after defeating the LTTE finds herself in a terrible situation once again. Sri Lanka shall overcome. Make no mistake.

General Sarath Fonseka. We still believe there are still some brave army offices left in Sri Lanka and we invite you and them to come forward and rescue our country the same way you rescued from LTTE, but this time from thuggery, corrupt, dictatorial swindlers who ruin our country’s morale, wealth and integrity. This is your duty to the country. Thank you.

THere is a pattern here of assaults and victims denying it later. The land of corruption and thugs has yet again, tolerated a young, spoiled, corrupt pup to commit a crime and get away with it. Shame on Mervyn Silva, for shielding his young delinquent son.

Every victim who recants or withdraws initial statement is a passive perpetrator and therefore the courts should charge him

PRESENT DAY SRILANKEN CRIME INVESTIGATIONS ARE ALMOST COMPARABLE TO THAT OF PAKISTAN OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY WITH NO LAW AND ORDER IS ENFORCED, BUT WORKED ON MINISTERIAL ORDERS ARBITORILY. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, I WISH I COULD HEAR WHAT THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE, PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY AND ALL OTHER RULING POLICIANS HAVE GOT TO SAY ABOUT THE LATEST INCIDENT- IN WHICH THE VICIM -AN ARMY MAJOR WAS DEDICED TO BE CHARGED LEAVING THE REAL PERPETRATORS ON BAIL. THIS SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY REJECTED BY OPPOSITION TOGETHER ALL RESPECTFUL FOLKS IN AND OUT OF COUNTRY ASKING A PROPER INVESTIGATION GOING THROUGH ALL EVIDENCES AT THE HANDS OF THE POLICE:

So the media should give its priority to interview the head of state, why he has been paying a blind eye for all these ? He has to answer the nation – else, he would not be able to govern the country long as he has been preching on and on.
