Minister Maithripala Sirisena’s Son Brandished A Gun At UNP Kris Balathazaar

Daham Sirisena, the son of Senior Minister Maithripala Sirisena is alleged to have brandished a gun and threatened UNP Municipal Council member Kris Balathazaar following the annual Royal Thomian cricket match, on Saturday.

Daham SirisenaThe incident had allegedly taken place at the ‘ Floor by O’ a popular pub/ club located at the CH and FC premises in close vicinity to the SSC where the match was played.

Balthazaar had immediately called 119, and complained.

However, it is learnt that the UNP member is now seeking mediation and is not pursuing action.

The Police were unavailable for comment.

The incident had reportedly taken place in full view of the revellers, with the son of the Minister bringing in his bodyguards with defenders prior to taking out a gun.

The son was involved in a major ruckus last year where he had reportedly assaulted the son of DIG Ravi Waidyalankara who was hospitalised.

The incident was also brought to a close with no action against the son.

I happened to watch a TV debate (Satana) on lanken current situation. What made me further clear was – JHU is insisting that they have been doin well even if Gonmanpila has violated Election laws by staging with Secretary of defence. There his did not even sound that he made a big mistake.. further argued athough he respect EC`S decision but his stance is something else. He further adds there is no wrong askingpeople to contribute his campaign by 100 rupees. Peole listen, even if he has been arguing giving his all favourable contents.

As one who lives out of the country, I feel – if this was the case on the West, those who violated laws would surely have been punished. Why is that in Srilanka no punishment is the case ?

Politicians and their babies used to carry weapons in most expensive vehicles with their body guards to punish their own voters, and its a normal practice with this regime Rajapassa family came to power. I hope at least Geneva will teach these rascals a good lesson and allow the innocent people to live in harmony.

Jayawewa SF, our only saver to punish this rogue family.

Maithripala Sirisena and his family are a bunch of CORRUPT CROOKS.

Sirisena took 3 years to get the National Drugs Bill passed in because he was getting huge kick backs from Pharmaceutical companies, and his brother stole reservation land of the Parakrama Samudra to build the ugly hotel SUDU ARALIYA in Polonnaruwa.
When it rains the SUDU ARALIYA gets flooded so the water is relased from the resavoir to save this illegal hotel consturction while farmers have NO WATER to irrigate their fields.
The Sinhala Modayas who vote for these politicians are Moda Yakkas!

I think as everyone in the parliament today are highly corrupted. As one Jvp candidate clearly makes it – finding good uncorrupted candidates today are like searching mustards from a house where none is dead.

So, given that situation, I think Maithripala sirisena is less corrupted if you take the scale as the BAKAPANDITHAYA – Mahinda Rajapakshe.

Take just 1 hour and search for data – and ask why MR regime did not call for tenders for so called booming projects. And check COPE reports AND the like reports and what Dr. Harsha Silva points out… considering all these..

If Maithripala or others in power are 10000000000000000000000 time less corrupted than the Rajapakshe oligarchy

My wish is Army coup shoud take over Raja Regime and pave the way their all assets to be nationalized.

There should be a campaign to get the CORRUPT AND CRIMINAL Maithripala Sirisena to resign and he and his family need to be investigated for Land grabbing and fraud.. Patients are suffering due to lack of medcines and drugs and cancer patients are dying today because of Sirisena’s corruption.. Like father, like son it is said!

What’s more This CORRUPT bugger Sirisena wants to be the next LEADER of the SLFP! His posters are all over Pollonnaruwa as if he is the king there. Siresena’s posters should be ripped and trampled – as were Namal Rajapaksa’s mug shot posters on the roads of Colombo 7 on Sunday!

The National Drugs policy is apparently this corrupt clown Mathirpala Sirisena’s his personal secret now handed over the Corrupt and Criminal Mahinda Rajapaksa. How can a national drugs policy that has been delayed for 3 years be a secret of the Minister and his corrupt clique? Patients are suffering due to lack of drugs and cancer patients are dying today because of this massive corruption..

National policies need to be in the public domain so that they can be implemented by all and corruption rooted out.

    Boys are Boys?

“Kris Balathazaar told the media that he never made any complaint whatsoever. It was a media beat-up! After all, he is a well-behaved young man, whom I know for a long time. His father is a gem of a politician. He just picked up his mobile phone from the pocket, and th media people around there thought it was a gun. There was no gun, no complaint, no problem, end of story. I also wish to apologize the Minister if any of these new stories caused any discomfort”.

    I won’t be surprised.

Will the Rajapakse Family aka GoSL – take steps to do away with this illegal calumny of making available Govt officials as Security Guards to family members of Ministers and other politicians? Besides the high
cost the bankrupt coffers of the Govt cannot afford, it is also an outrageous practise that should be done away with pronto.

Why is the name of this rowdy son of Sirisena never mentioned in any of the media reports – even in CT. If there’s any truth in these reports his name and picture should be published like it is normally done in the case of ordinary citizens. Are the media reluctant to publish his name because his father is a minister, or because the reporters didn’t properly investigate their story. Or is this another attempt to sling mud at the government when it is under the microscope. If the media is convinced there is reasonable evidence they should name him in their reports and show him he cannot expect any special treatment. He should be given a public shaming even if the law is reluctant to act.

WHY DOES THE SON OF A MINISTER GET BODY GUARDS AND GOV VEHICLES. DO THE IDIOTS WHO VOTE APPOINT THE WHOLE FAMILY INTO OFFICE?

Why does it not occur to anybody that it is only the minister who gets the perks not the family. Is it not time to throw the whole lot in jail for gross violations of the office.

      Excuse me

We have have an Executive Presidential system. If you are not aware of his powers he doesn’t have any powers over his cabinet. So like everybody else(including me) better shut up.

This is what happens when you are in power. There should be a 10 years limit to continues cabinet portfolio. After that a politico has to resign with pension or become an MP for a period of 5 years. Also each politician should resign from politics at the age of 63.This gives way to the younger generation and finally we can up the ante by introducing university degree to enter politics.
We have a system where every politician is a pocket maharajah in his domain. This is because From the grandfather/mother to grandson/daughter is a member from village council to parliament. The constitution should be amended to have only one member of the family to enter active politics in any level of government from any party. Otherwise father from one party, mother from another and their dog from another party will be holding office at the same time.
This is the main reason there is fear psychosis in village level and people live in fear in rural areas as well as urban areas. (eg: Kelaniya)But we can only write and write. Nothing going to change unless someone from a major party stands up to this and make the real CHANGE!

I long for the day when our politicians can travel without bodyguards, like in many countries.
Then,we would truly have attained independence, and democracy.
But,I fear that this will not happen in our lifetime.
