MS With MR At His Side Today Calls On SLFP To Unite

President Maithripala Sirisena with his main adversary Mahinda Rajapaksa at his side today called for the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to unite.

He was speaking at a meeting held to celebrate the 64th Anniversary of the SLFP in Polonnaruwa today.

Maithri MahindaHowever a long standing SLFP MP said that it was the power struggle between both Sirisena and Rajapaksa which divided the SLFP into two factions.

Sirisena went on to say that the SLFP should face the next polls as a united force.

However, Chandrika Kumaratunga who Rajapaksa has described as his biggest enemy was not on stage in Polonnaruwa.

The new General Secretary of the SLFP Duminda Dissanayake in his address said that Bandaranaike could not attend the event as she had gone abroad.

However, Sirisena was wary enough not to grant a speech to Rajapaksa.

Although Rajapaksa was seated next to Sirisena the two did not engage in much talk.

Also the division within the SLFP was much evident at the meeting with both Sirisena and Rajapaksa factions choosing to band together with colleagues from the same side.

Mahinda Rajapakse is a schemer and his silent acceptance of Mithiri is not real. Mithiri should be very cautious about this dangerous creature. Mahinda will put another drama until he is safe from his crimes and corruption. Once that is over, the true face will come out to eliminate Mithiri.

Not only a schmer but a kind of masked man.

I really dont know even his wife knows him well.
This man has proved to have all kind of high magnitude of criminal energies. So, for me, I am not against him being investigated. Though I have some concern him being a lanken, but if we went wrong, we have to stand for what we have done.
Even if leaving aside all the war end bilateral kllings, but his behavouirs in the post war sessions, were good enough to any sane one to draw conclusions of the criminal Rajapakshes.

One advice to Prez My3; please be no naive.

You need not to get close or let him close you – MR IS DANGEROUS. Please dont forget the warning – BEWARE OF DOGS.

You must be glass clear about his poisonous manners – 49 years of lanken politics should have taught you enough about to know about MR – THIS IS MORE THAN ANYONE of us the general public is aware.

Poor President Sirisena, still has to use Mahinda’s name to bring people for the 64th Anniversary of the SLFP, yet he talks about radical transformation to the party.

After the so called transformations, SLFP may have to use old UNP tricks such as giving rice packets and Rs. 500 to bring down people to their meetings.

President makes throne speech; Mahinda after swearing in leaves abruptly and unnoticed

The 8 th parliament commenced its maiden sessions , and Karu Jayasuriya was elected as the speaker, while Thilanga Sumathipala was appointed as the deputy speaker.

It was the unanimous view that the two posts should be shared between the two factions , and earlier Fowzi’s name was proposed for the deputy speaker’s post . However , since it was the view that a youthful deputy speaker must be appointed to assist Jayasuriya , Thilanga Sumathipala was chosen.

TNA M.P. Selvam Adaikalanathan was appointed as the deputy select committee chairman .His name was proposed by TNA M.P. Sumenthiran , and seconded by Lakshman Kiriella. The latter who functioned as the leader of the house during the 100 days interim government was re appointed .Gayantha Karuntileke was also re appointed as the government chief whip . The two parliamentary posts now remaining to be filled are the opposition leader post and the chief opposition whip. When the parliament meets 3rd, these posts are to be filled before the speaker.

At 2.30 p.m. the president arrived in parliament and delivered the throne speech at 3.00 p.m. from the speaker’s seat. The president said , he is entrusting the task of taking a final decision pertaining to the executive presidency to the present parliament. The president ‘s throne speech in Sinhala has published in our Sinhala edition.

Meanwhile, the deposed president Mahinda Rajapakse and present Kurunegala district M.P arrived in the morning , and took his seat near that of Nimal Siripala De Silva in the front row. After the swearing in of M.P.s and placing his signature in the M.P.’s book , he had gone away abruptly unnoticed by anyone.

I really dont think that MS would fully forget the way MR governed the country until Jan 8th.
We should see it coming to unity, but not forgetting all the high profile abuses and not investigating them. Today, Mattala has become a place similar to a granary – but why the bugger MR went for it if it was initially clear to his profis that that would not work as an airport. Talk was that the airport could even accomadate landing A380 – should be just one another blant lie to abuse the usual mind sets that would regardelss anything go on votiing him further.
This nation should learn a big lesison out the episode – I wish this man MR would not have been in today s parliament, since he had done enough to harm than building up th enation along during the last few year where nothing similar to war was in the country. All in all, I doubt to give him some sort of credit whehter it at all finished due to the deicisions made by him – i mean the elemination of terror within the country – or right to say, Ltte was defeated and cornered in the world so that they could easily be defeated to that time. All these real ground info were kept away to eat the cake by his own – so people thought it was really the Maharaja and his goalaya did th job to the end. But very Raja not to have done the least towards the reconcilation – which is the key part of what the 30 year old war left – gives me the feeling – MR could not have any kind of talents in making peace in this country.

Thanks Gamini , Even your assurance means a lot to me , Today Tiran Alles has been partially cleared , every single day bizarre news items keep popping up ! Gamini what do you think of Thilanga , SB et al being appointed as MPs and then alleviating to even higher positions , what does MY3 think of SL people ? are we all suppose to eat “Punnkkku ” ?it seems MY3 is trying to consolidate his authority within SLFP ;thereby , trying to take the control of the parliament !
As far as MR concern , he is just another MP now ;hence , he shouldn’t be given any of the presidential treatments any more , hasn’t he had far more than what he was entitled !

Gamimi pl educate us , if you know what is really happening behind the curtain .

        Cheers Gamini.

        Gamini,
with all respect – please let us know why Dpty speaker post was given to Thilanga.
Why the muspenthu SB was nominated irrespective of all the thuggish programmes, being mastered by the bugger as no other ?

Why those men who got rejected by people were hand picked ?

Why that Dilan was given a chance ?

Why RW et al stay calm and quiet in this regard ?

I respect you specailly for keeping us informed about the good side of RW for the last few years, but we have now reached to a point, none of us can get it easily. As Srilanl articulates, are we all punnakku eating harakas ?

          Leelawathie,

Have you not heard that, even Yakas are used to get what you want done. So be patient. I assure you we will not be made to eat Punnakku. Everything will settle in the end. This is like RW was blamed for not unseating MR till he ultimately did so. Here again it is strategy. So bare with time. There will be dividends in the end which is not very far.

UPFA should separate from SLFP as each of their values are not aligned for a common purpose. If My3 does not allow UPFA to separate from the SLFP, all UPFA members so inclined should create a new party to run in the next elections. My3 will never allow UPFA to win if he is the Chairman of the party.

This fellow MARA is not interested in Uniting the Party or anything. He is keep on getting closer to MY3 and Ranil just to save him,his brother and his son from all the atrocities and murders committed under his watch.

They say a thief will scoop down to any level to save him from the punishment and get away from the situation, that is what this rogue and murderous family is trying to do.

MY3, be aware and let you not compromise with the people’s mandate, just because this rogue is trying to get closer to you in the guise of uniting the party. It was rumoured that, MARA approached Ranil to withdraw Thajudeen’s case, for which Ranil has said to talk to MY3.

Public justice is neither Ranil’s or MY3’s personal property. We the public are watching and waiting.

“Public justice is neither Ranil’s or MY3’s personal property. We the public are watching and waiting.”

It is one good reason as to why we need an independent investigation into all forms of human right violations covering the period from 5th April 1971 to date.

MS is a mercurial, inconsistent and unpredictable Johnny-come-lately to
senior political leadership. He has changed his stances so much in recent times no one can rely in the village simpleton propelled to the Major League. What he will do will not be in the interest of the SLFP, the Buddhists or the country. What he will do is to zealously protect the massive surreptitious wealth his immediate family corruptly amassed in the past two decades – rice mills, hotels, land and so forth. He has made a joke of politics so far – the National List, Cabinet posts etc., He has all the qualifications to lead the country to hitherto unheard of disaster – unless Ranil and CBK intervene and guide him to sane political leadership,

I agree, MS had been the right hand of the chief Plunderer of Srilanka, so there ar many skeletons in the closet for him too to cover up.
Do we close our eyes and drum up saying he’s our modern day saviour? Quite the contrary my dear chaps.
Talk about one politician in SL who’s not interested in plundering state wealth??

      Almost ALL. OK.

BEST OPTION FOR NOW IS. CBK AND RANIL TO GET US OUT OF THIS MESS… MS IS JUST INTERESTED IN HIS PARTY SLFP AND HIS MASTER AND HIS FAMILY WITH WHOM HE USED TO EAT AAPPA AND KIRIBUTH REGULARLY.
So he is committed to them more than OUR COUNTRY SRI LANKA
GET IT?? You all Winging morons that’s including myself forget about him.
This man MS is UNRELIABLE TO RULE SL. Is he driving us into a never never return land??!

So maithree and ranil forgot what they told people on election stages before Jan 8th.?
Is MR totally clean now? Didnt he swallow country’s wealth? Didnt he murder using white van? Actually who the hell want unity between maithree and MaRa with SLFP. Did SLFP elect MS as President? The actual need of people at the moment are punishments to the thugs and 100% pure law governing country not the rubbish like UNP or SLFP or APPACHCHI! Kick the dog out of politics and fullfill what people requested by you.

MS, please realize that your ascent to power was because we did not want the corrupt Rajapakase family to ever come back to power. We are now looking forward to seeing this corrupt family made accountable for the terrible crimes that were committed by them and the gross abuse of power that took place during their murderous regime. If you do not bring these criminals to be locked up in jail you too will suffer the same or worse fate by the voters of this country who are knowledgeable and educated enough to kick you out. Power now is with the citizens of Sri Lanka and not with the despotic Rajapakse clan that felt that the country owed them a living.

Is Maithri playing a double game.?? Very intimate with the rogues and murderers and given all the Parliamentary positions as well.
    Can anyone has any explanation,
We got rid of the rogue government and Maithri calls them and gives them cake to eat.
That’s the end of the new pissu government.

Analyst – It’s either a “double game” with us (the public that voted him in) or Maithri is playing Mara like a fish on a line, lulling him into a state of complacency. The ‘real’ story should be very interesting, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so let’s see if the law takes its course and Gota, Basil, (and Mara himself), etc are prosecuted without fear or favour.

The new parliament should be a good indicator of how things are panning out.

President please prove yourself now sooner than later as that you have CLEAN HANDS AND CLEAR MIND TO STEER OUR COUNTRY IN THE RIGHT PATH.

PLEASE GIVE US A CLUE THAT YOU MEAN BUSINESS AS PROMISED TO US ON THE 8th of January.
We trusted you as our saviour, even if you have had unclean hands you can wash and make your self reliable .

If you delay the promises you made to the masses they’re likely to turn away from you .

Please follow your heart if you have one in doing good to the country and people ,do not DECEIVE US.
At present we may be able to trust CBK AND RANIL??? May be more reliable for a better future in our justice system ,education ,health and devolopement

Evil and good are sitting next to each other.

History has shown between evil and good, evil always triumphs.

Evil has already entered Yahapalanaya – so many rogues from the previous government are already with the new government and some of them are even destined to be Ministers. Evil slowly but surely is creeping over good.

Mr. President must make a serious note of the key note address given by Prof. Sarath Wijesuriya. He had the courage in the presence of MR to announce how the 18A introduced to the Constitution brought irreparable damage to the SLF. When the Dear Prof. said it, MR displayed, a very “Dubious” and “Ominous” grin in his face. That demonstrated and told so many events to unfold in the coming years and I hope Mr. President Sirisena would have made a serious note. Mr. President please do not delay or dilly dally on the reorganization of the SLFP and most importantly to make a finish with those pending Investigations and Inquiries and recover from those accountable and responsible the looted public funds. You can well afford to “disband” those vulture groups who have ganged up to make a living on SLFP.

In this world anything and everything is replaceable Mr President including your SLFP. Don’t we all know that you’re only trying to protect your Ex Master plunderer.

I am confused. Is the UPFA & SLFP are the same & who is who in which party governing the country? If I am not mistaken, a party in the governing coalition wanted to appoint the Leader of the Opposition from the same party as well. Isn’t that a joke? To me, its a pickle & MS seems to have lost his direction. He is supposed to be independent & supporting the PM but is he? MS seems to be bowing down to party pressure to the extent of even appointing unelected criminals under investigation to the Parliament. As the party leader, he should bring a resolution to suspend all party members who have criminal investigations pending, or even allegations, & to be cleared of all charges before their party membership is restored. At least we can then expect the same thugs & criminals not being in the Parliament again.

Of course, the party maybe beyond redemption & even with CBK’s backing, MS may not have enough clout to reform the party, & the judiciary is yet to prove itself beyond doubt of it’s impartiality but the momentum built on ‘yahapalanaya’ should continue & MS should realize that he is losing his credibility by not keeping to his word. If his actions are to keep unity in the party, his accountability as a state leader is at question.
