A shopping complex belonging to a Muslim businessman in Dharga town Aluthgama, was torched early last morning by a mob of around 200 people which includes Buddhist monks.
According to reports the mob had torched the shopping complex of the brother of a suspect who had allegedly molested a boy at the complex. But the court released him on bail after watching the CCTV footage of the alleged incident.
Prior to the arson attack monks and a group has staged a massive demonstration outside the complex on Thursday.
The suspect brother was accused of sexual assault and was produced before the Aluthgama magistrates court yesterday after which the arson attack had occurred according to reports.
Initial reports suggest that the mob had planned the attack during a meeting held at the temple.
No suspects have been arrested yet.

The time will come soon when the Rajapakses will learn it does not pay to enthrone impunity. This is the same revival of 1983,they are planning but this time against Muslims. Be aware of it.
What Mr. Ahmad Khan should do is.
1)File a case immediately at Supreme Court against Police for failing to protect Ahmad’d business and against the woman and her son on false allegations. Get help from the best Lawyers and advisers.
2)Send a report with proof of video clips to all media in Sri Lanka, to UNHRC office both in Sri Lanka and in Geneva and to UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon at UN head quarters in USA and seek justice from them.
3)Send a report with proof of video clips to all foreign Embasies in Sri Lanka, to the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, to all opposition Parties and NGOs and to all heads of Muslim countries and muslim and Christian Churches around the world.
4)Send a special report with Video clips to Channel 4 Callum Macrae,BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, FOX news, Colombo telegraph, UK PM David Cameron, CW Secretary General Mr.Kamalesh Sharma, Asian Human rights association and to world Muslim federation, and to his holiness POPE Francis in Vatican City Rome.
5)Put up posters with photos of Sinhala Racist riots and their protest march in front of your shop, and your burnt up building, and publish them across Sri Lanka, and at the site of world youth conference at BMICH and in front of all Sri Lankan Embasies throughout the world.Please get help from all the Muslim communities around the world for this.
6)Reach to the Youth World Conference that is held at BMICH and get the maximum exposure from both local and foreign media. Gather locals and do a protest similar to what they did against Boco Haram at BMICH. Use the opportunity for your advantage to the maximise your exposure. This is the ideal time to expose your self to the world and to seek justice.
7)File a Lawsuit for Ten Billion Rupees against Sri Lanka Government no Racial Profiling,instigating and feuling Racial riots and against Sri Lanka Police dept for it’s inaction to come to your help and for supporting Sinhala Buddhist Thugs, and against the woman and her child for lying to Police and for false alligation against his brother.
If the courts fails to carry out it’s duties due to Government pressure, take the case to International courts. Use and get help from best Lawyers, advisers and HR consultants available both in Sri Lanka and abroad.
8)File for Liability Insurance to claim for property and material damage, and loss of revenue and income from business etc.
9)Finally I say with the availability of internet, Google, Youtube, Tweeter, Face Book, Yahoo etc,use them to reach and expose this thuggery, vandalism, riots, loot and destroying of property to the whole world and show as to what is truly going on in Sri Lanka.You could easily get help from and IT personal to do this for you.This is the easiest and cheapest way to reach the outside world.
10)Send reports and the Video clip of this mass Genocide to Sri Lanka’s International Funders, IMF,WB,Asian development Bank, Banks of Japan and China, Bank of Russia,Banks In ME, EU, etc, to block funding and to expose Dictator Rajapakse Regime to the world.
11)Send copies of statements, reports and Videos to the world Tourist promotion Board.
12) Also I strongly advise you not to go into fight or for any riots against these Sinhala Buddhist racist Thugs and mobs. This is what they are looking for in order to instigate another 1983 like Progrom to steal and destroy your property and make you homeless.
Therefore Patience and Vigilance are the keys to final victory.
But take use of a private security agency.
Also don’t rely on police for any help or protection. They are the worst ever crooks in the world, but seek help from your own community and get advise from Lawyers, honest politicians, imams, learnard and for protection from your own Vigilante groups or Private security agency to protect you and your family.
Also Get help from all Independent media(not the Rajapakse government media goons) including International media and always use CCTV cameras and other Video tapes to record everything for future evidance, reference and as proof.

CT caption is incorrect. This man’s shop was torched by BUDDHIST TERRORIST and not by thugs as stated in your caption and article. The style and trait of this attack does not match that of a normal crime or violence in the aftermath of a violent mob reacting in haste and anger to a road accident. This terror attack has the trademark of a ruthless, merciless, calculated and premeditated attack on this business. The fire was instigated to destroy the building, the evidence of the CCTV camera footage and suspected crime scene that was under investigation. The entire incident was made up on trumped-up charges. So sad for this businessman and this Muslim family.

What is needed is the truth if the party accused is guilty then the law of the state can apply ,but in in either case no one has the right to abuse the power just becuase they number in majority .

No one in the Rajapakse regime has come forward to condemn these acts of violence against the Muslims so far, and neither are the Police taking any action at all to arrests the culprits . So it’s quite obvious that ,fomenting racial tensions, and religious hatred are political strategies used by the Rajapakse’s to keep themselves in power. Like it or not there is a lot of anti muslim sentiment across certain sections of the populace, through ignorance and fear, and the shrewd and crafty Rajapakse is tapping into this for is own survival and to remain popular among the racist elements, because this is where the votes are.
