Muslim Politicians And Muslim Community Today In Sri Lanka

By Rifai Naleemi

Rifai Naleemi

Sri Lankan Muslim community today goes through an epoch of political bankruptcy in Muslim history in Sri Lanka. Muslim community became  a voiceless community today in our time. This situation is unprecedented in Sri Lankan Muslim history. It is shame that those shameless Muslim politicians still go behind this ruling family in anticipation that they could secure some basic privileges and concessions in their political struggle. Yet, those hopes and aspirations have been shuttered in recent times.  Of course, in this system of excessive executive presidential power, minority politicians are vulnerable to demotions and relegation, even to loose their seats. That is the sad side of political life in the third world countries.  Yet, in Sri Lanka Muslim politicians could have acted collectively in this difficult situation. They have greatly failed to win the hearts and minds of Tamil politicians to meet challenges that our community faces today.

Muslim politicians have been totally marginalised today in politics. They can not raise their voice in parliament in any issue that concerns Muslim community today. They are really made dump-heads and can not do any constructive work in current political scenarios.  In recent time mosques have been vandalised by BBS thugs, Muslim cultural heritage and religious rites have been mocked, Muslim ladies have been humiliated for wearing Islamic code of dress and Muslim people are banned from praying in some mosques.  BBS and its cohorts continue to make mockery of Muslims and Islamic way of life and yet, Muslim politicians have done nothing constructively to stop BBS activities.  It is like your house is burning and yet, you are standing idle in front of it doing nothing. While mosques are being destroyed with support of security forces our politicians openly says that mosques have not been destroyed.

It is reported to have said by one of Muslim senior ministers mosques are not being destroyed in Sri Lanka. The entire world knows that how many mosques have been destroyed and vandalised by BBS and its cohorts in Sri Lanka. How could this so called Muslim minister speak for BBS? One wonders if he works as an agent to BBS, Or if he works for defence secretary as agent for him. He should openly apologise to Muslim community in Sri Lanka. Moreover, he should seek repentance from Almighty Allah for his open lies of this kind.  How could such misleading and dishonest person represent Muslim community? He should fear Almighty Allah in his words and actions. We have not seen this type of stumpy class politicians in Sri Lankan history.  Some of these politicians are ready to even sell their religion for the sake of political seat and power. It was recently reported that one of Muslim clerics was invited for a iftar at presidential residence in Kandy.  This Muslim cleric was about to do a hand shaking with President in an Islamic way and yet, one of Muslim MPs interrupted his hand shaking saying it was an alien and foreign tradition. He was asked to greet President as Buddhists do in accordance with Buddhists traditions.

It is so called Muslim politicians should be condemned and blamed for these types of disrespectful acts of shame. Today, it is political leadership that brings shame to Islam and Muslim all over the world. Look at Muslim political leaders in Muslim countries.  They have greatly damaged good name of Islam and Muslims. In deed they have done more harm to Islam and Muslim in this century than any period in Muslim history. It is political reforms that Muslim community urgently needs in this century along sides all other reformation programmes. This is the case in Sri Lanka as well. We have more 18 members of Muslim parliament.  They have become selfish and power greedy people.  They do not care about our community.  They do not bother what BBS do for Muslim community in SL.  They do not have courage and charisma to speak out for Muslim community today.

What can Muslim community do to change this situation? I think that Muslim community should be sending highly qualified, pious and honest people into Parliament to speak out for our community. What we have now is a bunch of selfish politicians who worry too much about their pockets rather than Muslim community.  Muslim community should try to replace these old fashion politicians with new vibrant and intelligent politicians who care for the welfare of Muslim community. I think this is timely needed collective duty of Muslim community today. Otherwise, our mere existence will be questionable in future in this country (May Allah protect this community). We are living as a minority community and we should work with other minority community at least in politics to secure greater interest of all minority communities. Unfortunately, we have not won the support of Tamil politicians in SL. Tamil and Muslim politicians should work together hand in hand in SL to safeguard interests of both communities.  If we do this we could become a decisive political force one day in SL. Unfortunately, since independence minorities in Sri Lanka have failed to work hand in hand and consequently minorities are made to suffer at the hands of majority.

Our blabbering friend Dr (?) Rifai Naleemi is back again and pompously says “Muslim community should try to replace these old fashion politicians with new vibrant (sic) and intelligent politicians who care for the welfare of Muslim community” That is exactly what you did. Replacing dinosaurs like MH Mohamed, Kudu Fowzie and others – with what. The Ashraffs, Ganda kata Azwer, Fakeem, Paisa Mustafa, Rishard Bathiudeen. The problem is in the blood, religion and traditions. This will never change. Look at the Syrian crisis. 2 weeks ago Assad told the world he has no chemical weapons. Now he says he needs at least a month to give a complete list of the large inventory. World leaders call him a congenital liar. For years
that lying Pakistani President Musharaff told the world he does not know where Bin Laden is – while hiding him (for big) money in the capital for years. Not just honour these scoundrels do not even have shame. There is a saying in Sinhala for these type of rogues “Salli – deviyange malli”

      A.D.J. Perera,

I hope you fail to understand the fact about Syria and Osama bin laden. You need further exercises to get more understanding. Here we talk about Sri Lankan Muslims…..not about Syrians.
In the history of Sri Lankan Muslims, there were no record of violence by them. If you analyze the history you will know Saffron thugs are the violence in Sri Lanka always. Because people failed to understand the teaching of Lord Buddha and you are also one of them. This monk hegemony is the core problem for the Buddhism today, and Buddhism is one of failure religion/philosophy today because this reason.

        ALAN:

You say Sri Lankan Muslim Don’t engage in Violence.

Because they are jus7 about 8%. Wait Until they become a sizeable minority to see how violent they are.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW WAHABI MUSLIMS OF SRI LANKA HAVE ATTACKS SUFI MUSLIMS AND OTHER MINOR SECTS.

        READ THE FOLLOWING;

” Tension mounted yesterday, as a group of minority Muslims tried to return to their homes in Katankudy in Batticoloa as ordered by the Supreme Court. They were prevented from occupying the homes they had left during times of religious violence in 2004 and 2006. Nearly 500 Sufi Muslims, thus, had to go away to their temporary abodes away from their traditional Katankudy homes.

The matter will now be reviewed by the Supreme Court on February 27th according to those who described their ordeal to the Asian Tribune. Periodic religious clashes between the Sufis and the majority Wahabists were reported frequently in the past. The matter received the attention of the Supreme Court which ordered the Sufis to return to Katankudy.

Most of the Sufis belonged to the All Ceylon Thareekathul Mufliheen. The Supreme Court ordered on 7 February that Sufis who were former residents of Katankudy and who were chased out due to violence to go back and settle down within two weeks. As yesterday was the last day mentioned in the Supreme Court Order nearly 500 Sufi Muslims went to Katankudy to go back to their homes.

When they reached the Kattankudy border to enter, an illegal mob awaited with lethal weapons ready to pounce and attack those Sufi Muslims. Some of them told the Asian Tribune that those illegal mobs brandishing dangerous weapons prevented them from entering Katankudy. They were waiting ready to attack and kill them. Though Police and STF were deployed to control the situation, they could not enter their homes as the security forces were helpless.

Speaking to Asian Tribune M.A.C. Hameed, President of the All Ceylon Thareekathul Mufliheen’ said that they were prevented from entering into Kattankudy by Jamiyathul Ulama, said to be from the council of Islamic theologians, mostly by Wahabists theologians. Hameed stated that the returning Sufis were prevented from entering and February 21 was the last day the Supreme Court had given for them to be in Kattankudy.

As tension began to escalate, the Police and the STF forces who were involved in maintaining law and order at last agreed to allow the Sufis to enter their meditation centre for one hour. Hameed said accordingly Sufis left for the meditation centre located inside Kattankudy and were asked to leave after 1 hour by the police. He said that as agreed with the Police they left the centre after 1 hour.

He also said that they would present their report to the Supreme Court on 27 February, the date fixed by the court to hear whether Sufis were able to go back to Kattankudy to settle down permanently in their houses. “

Hey ADJP you don’t even know what is true Islam, and you pass judgment on who or what it is to be a Muslim. They, being a minority community, it is nothing but natural that sides have to be taken, and lines have to be towed. Or else, it is only natural that someone else, may be even worse will be waiting on the wings to jump into those positions. It is better to be patient and stay in the party to fight another day, that panic and decamp, thus deserting the community to the vultures.

Your reference to Syria and Pakistan, both Muslim countries infested with internal strife, is tantamount to its poor leadership, which reflects on individuals who have no feeling towards their own citizens. People at the helm are responsible for all that happens at the grass root level. This has nothing to do with Muslims, Islam and its teachings. You connect even understand this basic difference and conveniently mix religion with politics and display your sheer ignorance.

Your coining impolite and cruel names in reference to Muslim leaders and politicians is indicative of your class and morass, fit only for the gutter writings. Your hate and contempt of Muslims in general is legendary. You hate them but for all the wrong reasons. Probably brainwashed by BBS/SR/RB/JHU rhetoric of lies, deceit and misinformation, and who surely are not the ideal monks worthy of being shepherd or as guide to the flock.

        MARVAN;

        THIS IS ABOUT ISLAM;

‘Clerics of a Sufi sect of Islam in Kattankudy, a large Muslim town near Batticaloa riven by religious clashes which started four days ago, said Wednesday that more than six hundred of their followers were forcibly converted to orthodoxy under threat of violence and death. Sri Lanka army troops were also deployed in the troubled town along with special riot Police to prevent further violence.

        Kattankudy Incident

More than two hundred Muslim families that belong to the Sufi sect led by the cleric Abdur Rauf Mowlavi sought refuge in Araiyampathy, a Tamil village next to Kattankudy Tuesday night, fearing violent attacks by armed orthodox Islamic groups.

Some adherents of the Sufi sect alleged that a Muslim politician who was close ally of President Kumaratunga had instigated armed extremists against them.

“Our people were made to give up their faith at gun point”, a spokesman for the Sufis said.

An orthodox cleric denied the charge. He said that the followers of Rauf Mowlavi voluntarily came over to accept orthodoxy.

Meanwhile, government officials and Police convened two separate peace meetings between the Sufis and the orthodox Ulama board members.

“They have agreed to a truce tentatively. It is difficult to dispel fear and suspicion overnight”, a Police officer said.

A large number of families that follow the teachings of the pantheistic Sufi sect led by Abdur Rauf Mowlavi are on protest fast in their main mosque premises. Sri Lanka army troops and special motorbike commandos provided security to the Sufi mosque compound Wednesday.

On Sunday armed orthodox Islamic groups also attacked another Sufi sect in Kattankudy led by the charismatic cleric called Payilvaan. ‘

I am not surprised about the abuse and insults from the regular Muslim fanatics in these pages responding to my comments. I love them no less. What these mislead zealots should ask themselves is why virtually the entire world hates the Muslims. They know the reason is the world is responding in equal measure to the now discovered conspiracy of the Global Muslim Brotherhood to weaken societies they live as minorities and to expose them – as part of their Grand Design to take over the world. Despite some of the excesses of the BBS and its distasteful leadership, they have seen the danger and the enemy within. In a recent BBC article on the Muslims in Australia it is pointed out the average Muslim family there has 5-9 children whereas white Australians just have 1-2 children. The situation is no different here – particularly in the NEP.

Please – this does not include the peaceful and ordinary Muslims who are not guilty of these excesses and who have been our good and friendly neighbours for centuries. It is up to the Muslims to weed out the cancer within their society that has brought them so much trouble.

Isn’t it sad that you live a life of hatred? Gauthama Buddha said that hatred is akin to holding on to a hot coal and hoping the other guy will burn!

Now for you to be respectful of other religions and people is a big ask. Let me tell you why. I have said this to Lester and other racist bigots; you need to come from a good stock to understand what it means to respect another man whatever his background and beliefs. Kalil Ghibran a Christian poet says that you need to “little to belittle”.

For your education let me quote two respected people. Please memorize and ask someone to explain it to you. Might help ! :)

“It is not for me to judge another man’s life. I must judge, I must choose, I must spurn, purely for myself. For myself, alone.”
      ― Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

“It’s an universal law– intolerance is the first sign of an inadequate education. An ill-educated person behaves with arrogant impatience, whereas truly profound education breeds humility.”

Most of the Muslim politicians in Sri Lanka to date are pathological opportunists, especially to fill their pockets.

Could the community teach them a lesson, shake this off and produce leaders with integrity?

  • 0
    0

From the time I became politically aware in the early 1960-ies, most Muslim politicians are considered thopi-piradihal(turn-coats) among Tamil people.

This is one of the reasons even LTTE, which worked with the Muslim youth in the early stages, distanced them later. I can tell you as a Tamil we had/have no animosity towards Muslims.

Though one can find turn-coats among the Sinhalese and the Tamils, Muslims have a very large percentage of them. Though these Muslim politicians say they work with the governments in power to the benefit of their community, most of them are really after personal benefits.

Especially with the heavy bribing of the MARA regime most people can be tempted to sell their principles to fill the pockets.

The onus is on the Muslim community to find politicians of proven integrity, and bribe-resistant ones. May be they also must have a name-and-shame mechanism towards elected wayward politicians.

    RIFAI NALEEM:

Are the Muslim politicians allowed to talk about voters of other religions ? NO.

Every thing they talk is about Muslims. Because, if they talk about Non-believers or KAffirs it is against Islam.

See how in countries where muslims are the majority and Islam is the State religion, how they treat other religions.

Even in Sri Lanka, In Batti, you guys have unearthed the remains of a SUFI cleric and discarded those remains saying MEditation is not part of Islam. You guys had killed some Sufis.

    that is simply Islamic extremism.

I can give so many examples how Muslims treat other minor muslims sects in Sri Lanka. It is the same else where in the world.

Why Saudi Arabia is giving military aids to Syrian rebels ?. Because the Syrian govt is not Shiite muslims. they are a minor sect of Islam.

Even in Puttalama area Muslims have treated the minor islam sects by not giving space in their mosques to conduct minor sects prayers.

YOU PEOPLE ARE GOOD LIERS WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR RELIGION.

@Jim Softy. Why are you so concerned of the misdeeds of Muslims, are you trying to put them right? You just worry about your monk hegemony and try to put your house in order. Try to be more accommodating towards Mahayana Buddhism. See how prosperous those countries are. Pick up some tricks from them on how to succeed.

You are going to all the wrong web sites to feed on anti-Islamic literature. You never attempt to portray anything good you know or read about Islam and Muslims. We have a few of your kind here who write disparagingly. and it wont do any good, since nothing is going to ever stop nor change their forward march towards universal acceptance as Allah as God, and Prophet Muhammed (PBOH) as the last and Final Messenger. Muslims are everywhere now. China has a massive Muslim population, just waiting to get introduced to the world, presently cloaked under the curtain of Communism. There are approx 7 million Muslims living in US and growing, with more than 2,000 Masjids across the country. About 55 countries are 100 percent pure Muslim countries, some of the richest nations in the world. So what are you talking of some single incident where Muslims are implicated in a suburb in little SL.

Think big and see how much the world has changed, and is slowly changing over to Islam. For instance, take the Muslim call for prayer. It is sounded off every minute as time ticks in every time zone of every nation in the world. That call affirms that there is no God but Allah, and Prophet Muhammed (PBOH) is His Final Messenger, Come for prayer, come for success. Just think about it. The influence of our Prophet on he entirety of mankind. How many people you know of (who live, or lived in the world) who have or had the name Muhammed or Ahamed (derived from the same source name) in their names, – be it first or second, and Fathima (Prophet’s daughter) as the names for Muslim women of the world? Does any other religion have such influence on its followers anywhere in the world? Don’t spite Muslims just for the sake of spiting them, but be reasonable by being objective in any of your criticism, for the purpose of learning something.

Muslims are invasive and aggressive. MUSLIMS DO not know COEXISTENCE. THEY THINK ONLY THEY SHOULD LIVE AND THE WHOLE WORLD SHOULD BE MUSLIMS. RIFAI NALEEMI is creaming here, because for him, Sri Lankan MUSLIM POLITICIANS are not EXTREMIST ENOUGH.

iN sRI lANKA, THERE ARE NO buddhist POLITICIANS BECAUSE THEY TRY TO ADDRESS TO EVERY VOTER.

What a misleading state4ment. What about the JHU monks who sit in in Parliament, who sold their duty free vehicle permits and made millions? We know how they canvassed for Buddhist votes based on protecting the Sasana, and how one monk got his balls squeezed so tight and tugged by Mervin, that he ended up in hospital. They were the laughing stock of the general public.

Who said “mamath honda Bauddayek, mama dawasakata thun paarak wandinawa”? Then why do you dispute what your leader Mahinda said, and claim that he Buddhist only by label? He surely must be better than you in his religious observances?

Why you say Muslim politicians only look after themselves first and then their community? All politicians are not any different. They make political gamble to come into power, and if they win, the will do next best thing that comes naturally. Make money. Politicians are not saints, not in SL, not anywhere in the world, and being that way is not entirely surprising.

SEE how Muslims are threatening muslims in Sri Lanka. Sufi is one group threatened by Other sects. Ahmadia is another groups that are threatened.

    “The Beruwala Violence
The most cruel and crude nature of violence was well evident in the 2009 attack and devastation of the Beruwala Rahuman Masjid Mosque during its annual Buhari feast, which has been a practice in this mosque for over 130 years. A fundamentalist group of Muslim extremists armed with knives, swords and axes stormed the mosque, yelling that all those participating in the feast were infidels who had deviated from the path of Islam. The attackers set fire to the mosque and caused millions of rupees of damage. Two men were brutally hacked to death in the violence. They damaged cars, motor cycles and bicycles, and a special Police team had to be deployed in control the situation. A curfew was imposed in the area and some of the perpetrators were arrested but some had escaped.

In 2009 the Wahhabis vandalized and destroyed a 150-year old shrine located in Ukuwela near Matale. This was associated with violent clashes between Muslim groups. According to Muslim community leaders and groups this violence contradicts the fundamental teachings of Islam.

Saudi Arabian funding for fundamentalist groups
Sri Lankan Muslims, especially young males found easy employment in Saudi Arabia during the past few decades. Some were awarded scholarships by Saudi universities. Those who completed their studies returned to Sri Lanka and started to propagate the ideology of Wahhabism. In pursuit of their mission to expand their sphere of influence among Sufi Mulsims and others, these Wahhabis resorted to violence and intimidation culminating in death and destruction.

Most Muslim problems in the country at present appear to stem from foreign, particularly Saudi Arabian funding for fundamentalist groups. Also, the young Muslims who have been exposed to Saudi Islamic religious norms and who are being indoctrinated in madrasas and universities in Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and reading Wahhabi texts which are opposed to traditional practices such as those of Sufi Muslims. What is wrong with this trend is the approach adopted by these extremist groups to propagate and promote their ideology, thinking and practices among the traditional Sufi Muslims of Sri Lanka.

Their approach is unacceptable because it is causing disharmony and violence within the Muslim community. They should be aware of the fact that they are living in a non-Muslim country where Sinhala Buddhists form the mainstream dominant community. The approach to change by the extremist Muslim groups are not compatible with the social values of the country. “

      Jim softy,

Why are you so afraid for the Muslims? Sufi or Wahhabi all inter Muslim problem and nothing to do with you.
Same you have your Nikaya problems in Theravada Buddhism in Sri Lanka, find out the solution for that, so Muslims will find the solution for the their sects issues.

The Beruwala incident. You have ‘topsy turvied’ the Beruwala incident. You have confused the perpetrators of violence with the victims. Most of your writings are marred by ignorance of the core issues. You must have good understanding of these issues before you pour out your hatred.

Jim Softy says here what I have been trying to say. There are good
Muslims here who go about their business peacefully realising their
peace is proportionate to that of others with whom they must necessarily co-habit. This other younger and dangerous group is financed and sent by Saudis and Pakistani ISI fronts to create disorder here. This is what radical groups like JHU, BBS and RB are opposed to. The violence of Muslims inflicted on their own and mosques need to be known at all island level. It is the elders, the more educated and responsible in Muslim society who must help to isolate
the cancer within them if Sinhala-Muslim peace is to be restored.

Some muslim politicians (even some buddhist politicians) had become hostages of the UPFA leadership. If they go against the leadership they would be punished to one of dirty issues they had in past. If not they could be even framed for something.

See what happened to SF, former CJ.

As Minister Ranjan mentioned if Minister Mohan Grero did not jump to UPFA his business would have suffered & gone bankrupt.

Only few ministers who have a ultra clean history can withstand UPFA extortion. Like minister Ranjan.

One of the reasons for the current situation of the Muslims in Sri Lanka is their own mistake. In a democratic country, one cannot expect 100% alignment of peoples with one single party. Ashraf’s imagination of binding Muslims into one party and using their votes for his personal reign was only a day dream. At a meeting in Nintavur, he publicly prayed that Allah may blast his head if he were misleading and cheating Muslims. Allah the Almighty accepted his prayer. Subhan Allah! There is a lesson for the other so-called Muslim leaders in his fate.

Muslim leaders were not marginalized by others. They got marginalized themselves with their own dishonest acts. How can Ferial speak about Muslims when she has sold her herself to the government for an embassy post after being rejected by the Muslim voters? The so-called Muslim politicians whether in power or not have pawned themselves for personal gains with the government. That senior minister did not use Muslim political party to get power. It’s a known fact that he has non-Muslim supporters as well. So, one cannot expect him to talk like a Muslim radical. Sending highly qualified honest people to Parliament is not going to solve the problem. Even Ashraf, present Muslim party leaders and that senior Minister too, all were qualified honest people of their times until becoming parliamentarians.

In my view, if Muslims are concerned about decent living in Sri Lanka, 1. should first reject and dissolve all the Muslim political parties.
    2. learn to respect the believes and sentiments of non-Muslims just like the Prophet did.
    3. learn to fight through law of the country if they are penalized for being Muslims.
    4. stop proliferation of mosques and instead use Sakadh and Sadaka to uplift the underprivileged Muslims

Difference of opinions is a fundamental character of democracy whereas conflict of civilizations is a fundamental character of humanity. Instead of trying to form an Eutopia, better try to manage the problems in a civilized and acceptable manner.

Asking politicians to save the economy is like asking Bernie Madeoff to manage our household budget and John Wayne to entertain our young children. Politicians by their very nature and their very presence distort/destroy/sodomize economic order. Politicians create law after law to alter human action and the resulting human interactions we label an “economy”. Politicians also steal from the unborn and create economic distortions in the future, kind of like meddling time travellers. Then there is the power they grant to the central bank, literally the mother of all economic cluster lumps.

Dear Ahamed: I practically and partially agree with you : how could you say that our señora ministers are qualified people: tell me what qualification some of our current leaders have: except ashraff. A lawyer by profession or Hameed, an English teacher, badi, school principal and Kabiir Hashem with an MA In economics, most of our so called politicians even do not how to speak and what to speak, I do not need to mention thief name: what honest they have except cheating our community and accumulating wealth? If they have piety they could watch and wait with these unfolding incidents agains our community in SL: I do agree with you we do not need a separate party for SL and still I do not think separate party is the cause of all problems: rather it is hatred against Muslims, hidden political agenda of some politicians against Muslims:

The problem with Srilankan Muslims is they are not believing in the PUREST FORM OF ISLAM – Wahabism. Local Muslims have mixed pure Islam with Hinduism. This is wrong and opportunistic.

Holy Quran should be read from the original Arabic text not from south Indian languages.

Before the wrath of the God is on local Muslims they should get back to basics by converting to Wahab teachings and adjusting their lives accordingly.

Yes, think about the every woman in the world is covering her whole body.

While, according to the Arabic -quaran women servants are slaves and they can be raped. so only the muslim men have all the rights and women are slaves.

“While, according to the Arabic -quaran women servants are slaves and they can be raped.”

In this island men rape their daughters while their women folks are away in Arab countries, slaving away all prime age, toiling and dying as domestic servants.

Why cannot you send all your lazy men to Arabia to earn few bucks by cleaning Wahhabi toilets? Who cares if your men get raped.

Let the women folks have fun at home or find decent jobs in the civil service, where men get paid not for honest days work.

You can’t have the cake and eat it.

          NATIVE VEDDA:

          Don’t be an stupid idiot.

Most Muslims in Saudi Arabia think women servants are slaves so that they can be raped.

IF your mother, sister or daughter were raped like that, it is a different case.

            Lankan soldier accused in Haiti
            September 18th, 2013
A Sri Lankan soldier in Haiti, part of a UN peacekeeping mission, has been accused of rape.

The Sentinel reported that an 18 year old woman, pulled over while traveling on Route National 2, in the town of Leogane last Saturday, was raped by the soldier.

According to reports the soldier was part of a road check and signaled the victim to pull over into a side area. He then took the victim into a part of a structure not occupied by anyone where he choked and raped her.

A Justice of the Peace gave an ordinance to take the victim to the state hospital in Petit Goave, where she can have a medically certified attest of rape that can accompany her in her quest for justice.

The UN has also confirmed the incident. (Colombo Gazette)

I don’t intent to, unlike you, a born stupid.

What is the difference between Arabs raping their female servants and Sinhala/Buddhists raping their underage captive daughters?

In both cases it is rape.

            What are you complaining about.

“IF your mother, sister or daughter were raped like that, it is a different case.”

Sorry I am bit thick I don’t get your point if there is one.

Are you eluding to the fact that Sinhala/Buddhist fathers raping their own underage captive daughters is better than or justifiable than Arabs raping their servants?

Do you think in both cases the women/Children enjoy being raped by men irrespective of their race?

I can only say you from Mars.

        What are you reading?

        Makavamsa?

Lion having sex with a woman and brother and sister incest? That is NOT Holy Quran that is Makavamsa.

        Get real JS.

READ the Holy Quran without relying on what others say about it.

Wahab teachings set the record straight. Other forms of Islam are like Makavamsa. Reject them. Learn the PURE form of Wahab Islam for a truly inspiring life. Saudi is the birth place of Islam and Wahab teachings rule Saudi.

If many more Muslims like Ahmed do a little more self-criticism of the
controversial community they will see they are more welcome in society, with less prejudice and suspicion. It was Deng Xiaoping, despite huge personal abuses to him, who gathered the vision and strength to force China to self-criticism. Today’s mighty China is due to Deng’s efforts at changing to the “One China – 2 systems” course.

      “Controversial community”?

There is no controversy about Islam. It is they are misled by creative Islam not the pure Wahabi form.

One man’s food is another man’s poison. Same with religion. Learn to live with it.

        Fathima Fuku,

Prophet Mohamed came to power with the sword and after much blood-letting. After he died, the battle for succession between Ali and
the Prophet’s wife continued in mass blood-letting. The religion from Day 1 is soaked in blood up to today. And you question “controversial” and blame almost everyone else???

I always thought the Muslim politicians depended on the Muslim vote to survive all these years. So, why are the rest of us getting all excited about the theme of this article?? Except, for purely racist reasons I guess.

And, it is time the CT editorial people delete those who think cutting and pasting some of the internet-garbage over and over again is a method of writing. It is one thing for a clueless idiot to google phrases and include what he finds in his ‘thesis’. It is absolute irresponsibility on the part of CT reviewers to let it happen repeatedly in the same thread! lets have some standards. I know us Sri Lankans thrive on having no standards but lets try at least !!!

    Salaams,
    Well said Brother Ahamed.
To achieve your suggestions (attached below), the Muslim Community needs an ALTERNATIVE POLITICAL POWER BASE.NOT SOMETHING LIKE THE PMGG that is aligned to the TNA through separatist front operators in London.
Hope this will happen soon, Insha Allah.
    Noor Nizam
    (Sri Lanka/Canada).

    1. should first reject and dissolve all the Muslim political parties.
    2. learn to respect the believes and sentiments of non-Muslims just like the Prophet did.
    3. learn to fight through law of the country if they are penalized for being Muslims.
    4. stop proliferation of mosques and instead use Sakadh and Sadaka to uplift the underprivileged Muslims

Difference of opinions is a fundamental character of democracy whereas conflict of civilizations is a fundamental character of humanity. Instead of trying to form an Eutopia, better try to manage the problems in a civilized and acceptable manner.

The biggest problem in Sri Lanka is the uncontrolled growth of the muslim population and the fear that the Sinhalese and Tamils feel of being overwhelmed by their religion and culture. The muslims of Sri Lanka are among the most backward of the muslim communities in South Asia. There is no effort on the part of this community to be forward thinking, modern, citizens of Sri Lanka and to engage in national development. The muslim communities in Sri Lanka are more interested in going back three, four hundred years, rather than living in a vibrant, modern democracy. Thank god that there are organizations that are mobilizing against this kind of backward thinking. It is extremely imperative that the government support these organizations and help lead to the progression of all communities in Sri Lanka, rather than go backward and suffer the same ineptitude that was experienced during the war with the LTTE.

Mr Grant – This uncontrolled increase of the Muslim population is part of a world conspiracy to out-populate others in multi-racial communities where Muslims live. This is causing concern everywhere in the world and they are beginning to see this is part of a well-organised sinister scheme. I have heard in blogs here readers suggesting the Govt must follow what China does. Stop education, health and other social facilities for Muslims breeding more than two children in a family. I recall a BBS Thero referring publicly to an incident where in one Maternity Ward of a regional Hospital there was a Muslim family where the grand-mother, the mother and grand-daughter (all between the ages of 17 and 50) had entered for child-birth at the same time. Ugh.

Dear Horikaday: why are you worry Muslim population tell your Sinhalese to have more and more if they do not do it why
Because they do not have family system as Muslim have ‘?
Look both spouses go to works and how could they look after children
Both get marry late in life and how could they have children
Both go universities and go to postgraduate studies no time family life
Husband drink too much alcohol and come home and beat wives no family life
More women go abroad from your family and end up there with Muslims boys
Muslim boys do circumcisions and Non Muslim girls want to marry Muslim boys all over the word purely for cleanness
99 percentage of Army, Navy, police and Air Force are from Sinhalese it could be say 100% are you Sinhalese they do not have enough holiday for family life or can not have more children
Make more monks to decrease it more
    What else you want

It is time this mutt Ahmed learns those who work in hospitals are mostly Sinhalese who are shocked by this abnormal population explosion with a political goal. And as to the other nut Nas who, in his
wild imagination, thinks girls all over the world go after Muslim boys because they have 1/3rd cut off (only they are clean says this fool) he is beyond educational help and clinical correction.

OK, the shocked Sinhalese hospital staff passed the message to the BBS Thero during their intimacy. That’s alright and under the shock they also could joined the competition.

But, who measured the cutoff piece to be 1/3rd? BBS Thero or Sinhalese hospital staff or yourself? And the next time when you see your piston unable to compete with even the 2/3rds of Muslims, we will hear that the great Horikadey committed suicide out of depression in the bed!

Horikaday:? Tell me why Sinhalese girls boys run away with Muslim boys: It is not us tell this but BBS tells in their meetings: why is this tell us: you need clinical help to check up your mind before you tell others : write with logics and write will reasoning

Nas – “Why Sinhalese girls boys run with Muslim boys”??? Have you still not recovered from last night’s shot of kudu? First learn
proper English and then work on some intelligence, you dimwit.
