Namal Rajapaksa, President Mahinda Rajapaksa‘s eldest son and member of parliament from the Hambantota District regularly undertakes tours to the former rebel strongholds of Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu to engage in welfare activities.
A few hours ago the young Parliamentarian tweeted that he had just held a book distribution drive for school children in Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu.
On his official Twitter account, Rajapaksa tweeted:
“Distributing school books in Mullativ and Killinochchi. I do this every year & its amazing to see their smiles”

Closer scrutiny of the picture reveals that every cover of the school books are emblazoned with pictures of MP Namal Rajapaksa in various outfits and poses. Some of the book covers feature pictures of President Rajapaksa at an event.
Rajapaksa who is the Government’s chief strategist of the Southern Provincial Council election to be held in March, is the most sought after endorsement by UPFA candidates. He is the particular preference of sons and daughters of ruling party politicos who are in the fray, namely Malsha Kumaratunga and Udara Lokubandara among several others.

Iraqi officials say President Saddam Hussein has won 100% backing in a referendum on whether he should rule for another seven years.
There were 11,445,638 eligible voters – and every one of them voted for the president, according to Izzat Ibrahim, Vice-Chairman of Iraq’s Revolutionary Command Council.

This can’t be uncle McCrae’s handy work in Killinochchi !!.
Only salvation for the poor families in Killinochi. Pudithikuruppu, Nanthikadal , Mannar, Pussellawa, Chilaw, Puttalam, Anuradapura, Vauniya Hambantota, ,or any other part of rural Lanka, is to give their kids an education, and provide them a chance to break away from the poverty cycle.
That enables these kids to get into the mainstream, get a descent job, move ahead and even join the Diaspora, which the Vellala CM , often talks about in his speeches, and portrays as a threat to his LTTE proxy TNA leader’s “Strategy” for a Separate Nation for Jaffna Tamils.
It beats police powers and land titles to the Vellalas who will be the perpetual rulers of the poor Jaffna inhabitants.
As a small time philanthropist engaged in helping poor students a little ,I can attest to the “Twitter Feeling” of this young Rajapksa.

The Lingua Franca in the area is Tamil. Is this an attempt to push Sinhala down the throat of unwilling Tamil children in that evil scheme at rapid and forced demographic change. The Father, meanwhile, is busy misleading the UN and the world Tamils are being treated democratically and well?
What Rajapakse Jr should do is to distribute books (and other school equipment) in the language the
children of the area study and within the established Curriculum. This
practise of trying to force Tamils to become Sinhalese is a failed
strategy that forced the Tamil Nation into armed resistance.

The Sinhala supremacist mindset of Namal and his supporters is evident because Namal is trying to brainwash young children to accept Sinhala domination.
SLFP is a racist party from the start, as its aim is total island wide Sinhala supremacy.
/
Liberal One / February 24, 2014
SLFP has many Tamil and Muslim politicians and it has no written down/publicly-acknowledged policy of working for sinhala supremacy. But on the other hand TNA has no major Sinhala or Muslim representation, they worked hand in hand with the terrorists, they are publicly stating that north and east is the homeland of Tamils and they are encouraging resolutions against Sri Lanka with ulterior motive of winning a separate state.
Yet the fools who have been brainwashed by racist grandpas and grandmas for centuries claims that SLFP and UNP are racist parties while TNA is not. These are the kind of morons that keep repeating that Sri Lankan governments mistreated tamils, while having no facts to backup their lies.
/
Safa / February 23, 2014
“It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…It’s Superman”. No doubt Namal works hard at it. One would appreciate such gestures if there were no pictures attached or undue publicity. Sinhala Politicians can build bridges between the two communities if they engage sincerely without publicity and fanfare.
There is no doubt that they must extend their hand to the Nothern people. Not only books but housing, water, electricity and employment. There is the NPC which must be given all the support possible. Eschew petty politics and work sincerely with elected representatives for the good of the people.

Diaspora folks, why don’t you guys become a foster parents for the thousands of children affected from the war and help them.
/

“The Tamil Brothers and Sisters” dear Matilda, are still the moral
responsibility of the Sinhala Govt in Colombo that fleeces taxes from them. It is GoSL that must take care of them and develop the Tamil-
majority areas. Successive Sinhala Govts deliberately failed in this
and the gun showed up. There is still some room to make up.
The diaspora will come in a big way once real peace and reconciliation is established in but in the private smaller endeavours. But the regime takes revenge on the popularly elected NPC and the country is kept on the brink. Please don’t blame the Tamils for that. It is up to the Sinhalese to prevent the coming of Eelam is really the message that opportunistic mutt Cricketer Murali should be advising his new found friends.
