Nose-Biter Deputy Minister Gankanda In Alcohol Driven Rampage Again

Dunesh Gankanda, Deputy Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage Board marred his wife’s birthday celebrations held at the Water’s Edge yesterday, when he went on to assault an invited guest by the name of Sumedha Gamlath and his wife in the early hours of today. Gankanda in his alcoholic influenced rage also assaulted his wife Kushani Nanayakkara, the birthday girl and his step daughter in an incident which took place in front of embarrassed guests and employees of the venue.

Gankanda

Gankanda

The party which kicked off on the 30th April 2015 was halted around 2:30am with other guests nearby ducking for cover.

At the time of writing the injured party were deliberating if the said assault should be reported to the police.

MP. Dunesh Gankanda has a history of violence especially when under influence of alcohol. Previously it was reported that he assaulted and bit the nose of N.V. Thivakaran, a Tamil businessman at a club in Galle Face hotel also in the early hours around 1.30am on May 27, 2012. Then Gankanda had gone into hiding from the Police had later surrendered to the Colpetty Police through his lawyer and the Colombo Fort Magistrate released Gankanda on bail.

On many other previous occasions his spate of violence has been reported where he has gone on to assault his mother’s sister, a member of the MSD, a bodyguard and a female maid servant.

MP. Gakanda had threatened to assault his 17 and a half year step son and verbally assaulted his teenage step daughter two years ago.

Colombo Telegraph in an earlier report quoted his step son claiming MP.Gankanda to be a racist. His step son was reported to have said “Uncle Dunesh is not fit for politics, I’m half Sinhala and half Tamil, he calls me ‘Demala pakaya’ (Tamil Cunt ). He is a racist. He has never said sorry. He even abused my sister with ‘Sudda Sinhala filth’. Once I asked him to apologize to her, and he said I’m not going to say sorry to a ‘demala pakaya’”.

Why are these people in the government? We never voted to have such people as our rulers! The President and PM should do something before all goodwill from the public is dissipated. This is a sad morning-after to yesterday’s jubilations over the 19th amendment.

      Deputy Minister of Water Supply??

Isn’t there a state owned distillery where he fits better?

At least he didn’t bite anybody this time.

SL parliamentarians throwing birthday parties at expensive hotels like ‘Water’s Edge’ which goes beyond 2:30AM.. Great People Leaders.. quarrelling after drinking till 2:30am, isn’t it obvious?? .. These SL politician’s extravagant parties and behaviour are like drug loads in Latin American countries or crazy rich in US as we see in films..

or even the wedd9ing which is to be held in London where Jacqueline Fernandez is supposed to sing and dance for a PETTY amount of 4 CRORES INR… ugh what a lot of money wasted… and how sure are they that the marriage wont last long and end up in a divorce? with that kind of money they could have had a minimum of 100 marriages paid for by them as a good deed, where the bride and groom would have prayed for the well being of the couple for whom that amount of money would have been spent…

Its an irony that there are people in SL who ind it so hard to have 3 square meals a day, while these DEPUTY Minister has that much money to spend on a B’day Party of his wife… and a Raccist..at that… He would of known that the step kids had a Tamil dad BEFORE this idiot got married… Shame on this loser to have uttered racist remarks on a 17 yr old…and his sister.. where does discipline of Politicians come into play and who checks on their behavior in PUBLIC…? MS and RW.over to YOU…

Many thanks to CT for highlighting this incident again and the RACIAL NOTE involving his step children.
This man is a disgrace for our YAHAPALANAYA. Disgrace to the core. It looks he has reached the chronic stage of the effects of ALCOHOLISM.

Feel sorry for the kids to have put up with this mad man since the marriage of her mother to this fellow.
She should not have put the kids in this violent household

Shame on our politicians to keep this (PISSO) SCHIZOPHRENIC PATIENT AS OUR POLITICIAN.
      HE SHOULD BE OUT SOOOOOOON.

These sort of politicians will be out only when the PEOPLE who vote for them decide to STOP voting for them, until then they will rule the roost.

This is not news. Politicians from SLFP & UNP behave like this every single night. Somewhere in Sri Lanka.

Alarming politicians patronize Water’s Edge even for a family Birthday bash. How is that for solidarity with poverty stricken Sri Lankan masses? Many went to hungry to bed last night. Many cannot afford to buy critical drugs they need.

I visited National Hospital OPD in Colombo yesterday morning to see a buddy who is a Medic there. Must say I was stunned by the bottomless poverty that engulfs our country still.

It was packed with all sorts of people. No ventilation. A smelly dungeon that has not been renovated since colonial times. Not OK for poor clients who seek help there. Not OK for professionals who work there. I talked to a retired school teacher who told me he goes there to save LKR 250,-. Amount he would have to pay to get a blood sugar test done outside. BTW, to get it done he has to visit OPD 3 days. First day is spent entirely trying to get a coupon.

Meanwhile, elected, corrupt, violent monkeys are partying at Water’s Edge. Driven there and picked up by brand new Prado jeeps. Provided by the people who patronize the stinking OPD.

This is what is wrong with our country in a nutshell.

      Cheers!

Ben Hurling. Thanks for the insight. This is why I am going on about the plundered wealth should be put back in HEALTH , EDUCATION AND THE ENVIRONMENT WHICH INCLUDES CLEANLINESS .

The masses don’t have to struggle to get their blood sugars tested and the Medics don’t have to work in appalling conditions.
Find and vote politicians for their commitment to the Nation not for their lies and greed.

        EDUCATE. THE MASSES.

THE OTHER MATTER SHOULD BE SEEN URGENTLY THE HIGH LIFE OF PRIESTHOOD PAID BY THE POOR AND RICH.
WHY ALL THESE EXTRAVAGANCE AT WESAK , POSON DAYS AND SO ON. ELECTRICITY BILLS IN THESE TEMPLES ARE ENORMOUS.

WHAT ABOUT THE GLOBAL WARMING AND POLLUTION.

ARE WE WATING FOR ANOTHER TSUNAMI ?

Yasin bravo just give Gandakanda some time to sober up and eventually he will do something noteworthy like Doc Mervyn tying government official to a tree. But I prefer this guy to get a another option waht Doc Mervyn ask and given to him by Rupawahini Lads.Question is what Ranil doing? Ah sorry he is to busy defending his pal Arajuna Mahendran.

This idiot should not be given a ticket from his party next time. He is not definitely fit to be a lawmaker. The problem is the majority in the current parliament would not even know the meaning of the word, Lawmaker.
I sincerely hope that people elect only decent people who can make a contribution to the common good and not those with various petit agendas. People should not just vote for the party. They should look at the candidate as well. Do it once and then the party leaders will be compelled to nominate fit and proper people for these roles.

This F#@king Gandaya – Minister of Drainage – is not fit to be a politician representing law abiding citizens. He should be fired from his ministerial post and should be ordered by court to complete an alcohol rehab program and take psychiatric treatment. He is beginning to show early symptoms of alcoholism-induced mental illness. If left untreated he will become a serious threat to himself and others.

This Photograph says it all! This man most probably is a PSYCHOPATH.

Perhaps,Parliament can give him 3 months leave to undergo treatment.
In the meantime nomination should be refused to contest the upcoming Election.

Dear Deputy Minister. Hope you will think twice before enjoying alcohol at any place.Your father was a great man who was most respected by all during late Hon Gaminie Athukorala’s time. If you continue to behave in this manner,it will definitely tarnish your father’s reputation. So please think over this and try to follow your great father’s foot steps!

You are for sure, not an off spring of ‘Chandra’ that we knew. I have worked with a lot from your dad’s era and they were all gentlemen. Mr. President & Ranil, get rid of these lunatics, re-habilitate if possible ASAP. Pelmadulla will be a better place without him or Pavithra.

Why does this government appoint crude Alchoholic bums as Deputy Ministers? Are they not aware of Gankandas previous record as a violent drunk who had assaulted various people in a drunken state.
We thought that this government would get rid of the criminal trash like Mervin, Duminda etc and have decent educated people in the Ministries. Sack this bum now and show that the MS and Ranil Government will not tolerate this type of criminal behavior by any member of their parties.

Deputy minister of what ?? Is it Drainage and ceptic tanks which is more suitable.

Knowing the man, why on earth does these guest accept Invitations for functions where this guy is the invitee.

The previous government was dirty with scums as ministers, mayors, pradeshiya
sabah members, politicians etc..etc.. and I am not wrong in saying the same to this government. Only it is negatively better and is going to get worse as the days roll by. MR can singularly be blamed for the previous government but for the present who can be blamed as there are many conductors in the same orchestra.

Let us see whether he is charged and convicted of assault. Let us see whether Maithri and Ranil force him to resign.

If these two things do not happen, the new government is no different to the old one.

ONE QUESTION – with all the celebrating over the 19th amendment, are
people forgetting another promise of the 100 day programme?
What is happening with the promise to introduce a CODE OF CONDUCT?
Why is Anura Kumara, who talks a lot these days, silent about it.

“I remember my own family was saved by Sinhalese neighbors”

Thanks for remembering those Sinhalese who saved your family.

They saved your family from Sinhala/Buddhists because they are Sinhalese and not Sinhala/Buddhists.

Muthu as usual is confused, he/she doesn’t know the difference between Sinhala/Buddhists racists and Sinhalese or Buddhists.

Another dose of Yahapalanaya to the Elite, Anglicans, Vellalas and the Muslims.

After Ranil’ls dose of Narendran and Mangalan’s Nepotism ,this completes the last leg of the Trifecta which is Violence.

    Is that the correct name?.

I know the Elite, Anglicans and the Diaspora went to town crying foul about the misdeeds of Dr Mervyn , Son Malaka and even the Pistol whipping Sira.Junior.

    But nothing compares with this.

Calling own stepson a Tamil C..t and assaulting the Missus on her day Birthday are unreal.

Imagine what he must be doing to the Missus on normal days.?.

Biting the nose of another Tamil C..t is even worse.

Are Criminals with proven track records better than the Dual Passport holders to give The Elite, Anglians , Vellalas and the Muslims Yahapalanay?.

Why are Anglicans included in the list? The Anglican church doesn’t seem to involve itself in politics. Generalizing the members of the denomination seems similar to some of the extremist Tamils labelling all Sinhala people as racist or Buddhists as violent.

You can amend the constitution and reform the electoral system all day long but until people of education, experience and integrity sit in parliament we won’t progress. The need at the next election is to cleanse parliament of the talentless thugs and plunderers who sit on both sides. As a nation we have able and public spirited people but the existing political class drive them away with their vile antics, while the common man suffers.

“Previously it was reported that he assaulted and bit the nose of Diwakaran,”

It happened very instinctively. When he heard his wife’s ex husbands name and divakaran saying he knows him well and he is a relative too.In a flash he had jumped and bitten divakarans nose. Now what would a dog do when someone other than a family member kneels down to give it a kiss.We have to study the theory of evolution of charles darwin.

This is not a big deal.we all evolved from animals. The question is from which animal.I believe from different animals.many indians may have evolved from deer etc because they are vegetarian and harmless. The aggressive and meat eating humans like middle easterners and americans may have evolved from big cats, bears, wolves etc.Orientals may have evolved from apes, snakes etc.We are all what we have evolved from.

When i look at this particular guys face closely an alsation comes to my mind. How can he control what he was as a wolf just because little by little over millions of years his DNA evolved into a human.

have some pity on him guys.We are all in the same boat animal to human.

Actually i read somewhere that we were actually believe it or not fish at first until we started to come out of water into land and become animals and now to humans. However the animal traits will still be there. For example animals mark their territory pissing,we mark it with geographical boundaries approved by somebody like UN,deeds, fences etc.

Imagine what he must be doing to the Missus on Normal days?

We need to make the assumption that the normal days total 364 days.

MP Gankanda should answer this ASAP and put an end to our collective imagination running riot.

Lets not comment on individuals. I want to know if he paid Water-Edge for the party and if he was given a discount because he is a Minister? If he did not pay, who did?

Also, did the aggrieved party file a complaint with the Police? If this has not happened, it is NOT any of our business.

Are you singing the same song sung following the disgraceful incident in Newyork concerning 2 leading politicians and

a HC during the last regime and one ended up with a Bloody nose?

For gods sake these incidents involving the ruling party of a country in this globe . They supposed to set an example .
It is not a matter whether the aggrieved party filed a complaint or not the leader of the country should deal with the unruly behaviour in public of a politician from the ruling party.

It can be a domestic matter but it can also be a public matter conncerning the individual involved.
It cannot be swept under the carpet.

This man is unfit to have any position in our government. The first time they are involved in any disgusting crime, they should be investigated and kicked out. This is a bad example for the children in our country.
These thugs are not qualified to sweep our streets. After all they represent this country, and do we want them to be called the leaders when they belong in jail?

Nose Biting , Wife Basher UNP minister at least didn’t try to rob the public purse. unlike the other Junior Minister who is in hot water.

This Junior minister who is also a UNP card holder went to the Customs bosses and demanded that they release his mates Containers full of Cu rods.

I mean if it was to smarten up our snail paced public servants, it would have been okay.’.

The problem was the Junior Minister’s mate was importing Cu rods duty free, and selling it a big Cable Maker in Colombo avoiding import tax.

And the Tax Bill is LKR 100 Mil.

No wonder our PM Ranil’s mate Dr Mahendran had to borrow that LKR 500 Billion at the juicy 12.5 % when the market rate is only 9 and and still dropping.

Otherwise our Public Servants including those naughty Customs officers wouldn’t have got their pay packets for the Sinhala Tamil New Year.
