President Or Prime Minister Never Asked Me To Resign: Ravi K

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Lotteries Ravi Karunanayake has refuted all newspapers which carried headline stories today claiming that President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had asked him to resign from his ministerial post.

Ravi

Updating his Facebook status a short while ago he posted a comment which reads “There has been recent media articles stating that the Hon. President and Hon. Prime minister has asked for my resignation. I would like to clarify that there has been no such discussion – Ravi”

Earlier today daily newspapers such as Daily Mirror, Lankadeepa and Lakbima carried headline stories claiming that President Sirisena and Prime Minister Wickremesinghe had asked Minister Karunanayake to resign.

RK is a child in his mind. He does not know shame, self-respect etc., He is just behaving like a child. He is so attached to plundering the system. He does not want to go. He some how wants to hang on to it. There are so many just like him in that parliament. Ranil is definitely another one. He just hangs their by force.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Lotteries Ravi Karunanayake, aka Penthouse Ravi,

RE: President Or Prime Minister Never Asked Me To Resign – Ravi K

They still don’t know who gave the Penthouse to your wife., gratis. You can certainly claim that it was given to your wife, not to you.

Who gave the Penthouse, gratis, to your wife? Alosius, Mahendran, or any other? Just curious. Thre are many others, who would like their wives to be gifted with penthouses.

        Ravi,

Are you out of your mind?
        Man, your reputation is mud.
How can you function as a minister? How can you not expect your underlings not to rob, when you have set such an example?
I know a gent, who was a head of a government institution some time back, for over 25 years. He never came home in his official vehicle; always left it at the place and drove his own car home. He didn’t want to misuse public property and wanted it to be seen by his underlings so they can’t play any hanky-panky. Those were the days ……………
……….. When it comes to Lankan politics dunno Who’s To Bless And Who’s To Blame …………..

        ………… I give up.

If someone should resign for the CB Bond fraud, it should be the Prime Minister.

In all fairness and justice to the citizenry, President should ask the PM to resign.

As the PM, as the Leader/UNP and as the man who orchestrated CB Bond scam by appointing a non-Sri Lankan close friend as the Governor and covering CB fraud using his high office, Ranil should take the full responsibility of all actions by his Ministers who are involved in the scam one way or the other.

JO, on the other hand are only court jesters who never had the backbone to stand against any of Ranil’s wrongdoings. They never had the backbone to raise their voices in the Parliament the same way they do outside. If they were ever loud in the Parliament, it was to bring disgrace to the House and shame to their voters.

Knowing fully well that it will be defeated, what is the point of bringing a No Confidence Motion in a highly controversial issue like this, against only one Minister? If JO had the backbone they should have brought a NCM against PM and his government to show that at least 1/4 in the Parliament are against the government.

The problem with JO ducks is they are unable to quack as they have sold their bills to the hunter!

For the politicians of all time, crimes are what others commit.

We are on the cusp of a complete reversal where people are shocked by the honesty of politicians and less surprised by their deceit. The world sees the Sri Lankan Parliament as crooks’ den. There is no point of wasting time to turn ducks into eagles. We must elect new set of honest people who are motivated to serve the country, not themselves.

Champa we are clear that you would always bring the kind of stupid thoughts.

Where on the earth, PMs have resigned just because ministers have made mistakes ?

Besides, in lanken Constitution, Prez appoints PM and his cabinet ministers.

And the fact that PM only focused on the profiles of former CBG intending to achieve lot more for the sake of country – he must not be the scape goat for everyone s every mistake.

There is a grudge in lanken society, this PM is to be blamed for everything.
I think PM is the only person to have managed it properly.
His patience is being painted as naivty or lack of information.
But unlike the idiots in the former govt, this PM allowed all the freedom of media in this govt.
That means not that former men did not do that harm.
To that time, they even killed people that did ont come to surface since media was fully controlled.
These media men should reveal that to the nation than anything else.
Media should finalyl want to make it clear that THE SOCIETY ought to change.

Then only this country can see it further.

          To moda Sinhalaya!
It is not Ranil who gave media freedom to the country man.
It was an undeniable right won by the people who made Ranil to extricate from his eternal leader of the opposition position. He was voted to do it.
          There was nothing he did.
Don’t attribute nativity to voters in this country?

You should be a born fool not to get it.

If they could they would have done it long ago. Ranil could do it, but he never did it like Madamulana musalaya did it.
Those media prostitutes and GMOA are together today to fulfil it the agenda pro-MR.
Then only thugs could do anything and everything in this country.

There is a man called Wijedassa Rajapakshe, he should be removed for ever out of lanken politics, This man is the main headache in Yahapalanaya outfilt.
He does not allow REFORMS to be made to the prevailing system.
In underground, the bugger works with Gotabaya the Mafia man. PM and Prez are both doing well, but they have been caught by CATCH 22 SITUATION.

THat is the ground reality. Else who would let idiots to attack them easily.
Like it is the case in UK or Germany, they can also bring even rigorous regulations against MEDIA men.
They can then even bann Daily Mirror, BOTH hiru and Derana nalika for sure.
Some countries have gone that far but they still call they are pro to media freedom.
Media freedom is not that let any thugs to sow their germs and destroy the entire society.

Are you out of your mind and out there preparing for an uprising? Come on be realistic.

Whom do you have in mind would lead your imaginary revolution?
Whom do you think capable, honest, apt … leader who can replace the current and former criminal political fraternity?
What is in it for you?
What is in it for ordinary people?
Above all whom are the future revolutionaries going to struggle against, Hindians, Americans and the west, Chinese, Corporate world, …… our own petit bourgeois, Bonapartist, the racist Sinhala/Buddhist noisy minority fascists, LTTE, the noisy Tamil Diaspora, the noisy Sinhala/Buddhist diaspora, the aging Spur-istas of down under, the intellectually bankrupt/racist former revolutionaries the new and improved JVP, our own rent seeking Mudalais, Aging failed Cuban Revolutionary fascists, Assgiria, ………………………………………. or simply Wimal Sangili Karuppan Weerawansa, …. ?

While all this drama is going on the Chinese camel has got its head in the Sri Lankan tent with the 99 year lease agreement that our foolish politicians agreed to instead of a short 30 year lease that would have been smarter!! Next step the Chinese camel will kick out all the Sri Lanka and force them to leave the country and occupy the whole Sri Lankan tent…
first they put us into a debt trap using the stupidity and greed of our politicians next they will take our country and scatter us across the world with no country of our own…

OK. The Prez and the PM (both being spineless, unprincipled persons) have not asked for your resignation. But you must have a conscience, a modicum of self respect and a sense of propriety to do the right thing without any prompting, no?

Qualifications for being a politician/cabinet member in Sri Lanka: No conscience, no self respect, a pathological liar, be sans of any and all moral values, moronic, arrogance of the first order, thug, murderer…..

Please resign and make it possible for a better person (and one not suffering from dementia) to replace you.

All these melodrama shows how corrupt and how low are the Sri lankan politicians and every govt is like this. Since JRJ, every president and every govt is there to steal from the public. There are children of those former public thieves waiting for their term. Some of them from time to time show their colors. but, the two leaders pretend they don’t hear anything. Simply disgusting. NGOs are there to fatten their accounts at the expense of the country. They write newspaper articles but do not educate the voters. I don’t think any of these information are published in sinhala or tamil medium newspapers.

In the CIABOC meeting, RAVI K had told that he owns nine companies. One company is worth Rs 4.5 billion. How did he earn all that money, IS it all from his job or inheritance ?

  • 5
    1

    Resignation is a personal decision.

Ravi K could decide to resign or not resign.

There are several questions involved- judicial, political and moral.

The presidential commission was appointed by the President and is bound by the Terms of Reference.

The Presidential Commission has not yet made a report and they are still in the process of hearing.

. Once the commission submit their reports, the issues may have to go before courts.

The moral dimension is for the person concerned and moral is really a relative term.

Let the legal process take their own course. What we are interested is the political option.

The ministers are appointed by the president.

Like appointment, removal also is at the discretion of the President -for a reason or even for no reason.

The appointment is at the pleasure of the President. with or without the recommendation of the[prime Minister.

    It is a political decision.

Let us request the president to remove him without waiting for his resignation

Muammar Gaddaffi did not want to go and he went.
Mobutu Sese Seko did not want to go and he went.

Sinhala_Man: Can you please name that person or any in this Government who could or qualify to succeed Ravi K in the event of his resignation? Isn’t it better to go on with the “KNOWN DEVIL” than to hand it over to another “UNKNOWN DEVIL” who would definitely make a “Different Stroke” to rob the Public Funds? That “Unknown Devil”, with these revelations must be waiting in line to do the same in a different, perhaps in a more “Scientific” and a “Professional” way so that no none would be able to find out how it happened . For now, at least this “Professional Fool” will be careful and think twice hereafter to avoid falling into a black hole.

I completely believe Ravi when he says the President & PM did not ask him to resign. After all, they are both neck deep in this crap, I don’t think they can throw him under the bus without Ravi dragging them under it too.

So, if I may predict the future, Ravi will survive because RW masterminded this whole fiasco. No one in the UNP can tie their shoe laces without a directive from RW. Mahendran did what he was told to by RW. They will all sing like birds if they are not protected. RW knows this. MS knows this.

Ravi will survive. After all, this is Sri Lanka

Thick skinned grand scale robbers have no self respect. Karunanayake’s track record has been right through. He will not leave this gold mine. Neither the PM will compel him to leave. It is the President who has to do it not dragging his feet as he did in the case of rober Mahendran. Otherwise the already lost credibility of of the President, PM and the Government will further deteriorated.

It is another funny type of situation of ending ones job in office by his
employer and in this case one’s leader or leaders . In three ways you
    end your job .
    1. Retirement
    2.Termmination
    3.Resigion.

No need to waste time on retirement as everyone is quite familiar with it.
But there’s a huge difference between a termination and resignation .
Now the trend on face saving of the subject who loses the job by any of
these two avenues is , MAKING A DEMAND TO SUBMIT RESIGNATION .
Why ? If you do not want his service , why do you not use your authority
to terminate his service ? And especially after a scandal of this nature ,
RESIGN IMMEDIATELY or get TERMINATED BY the TOUGH LEADERS
LIKE RANILMY3 ! Please do not laugh except from your big mouth !

The Hon Minister for Foreign Affairs made bad judgement, and has been found out. The honourable course of action is to resign and spare his peers the embarrassment of having to sack him or worse – distance themselves from him. Instead The Hon. Minister is behaving like a prick and dragging family and friends, and sundry in to obfuscate matters.

Alas, in spite of his decent upbringing and schooling, he stubbornly refuses to go.
But this is normal for our present political class. WE The People have only ourselves to blame for allowing this never ending stream of scoundrels run our country.

As soon as RK concluded his testimony to the CoI there is only one word that should have emerged instantly from the lips of the President and PM: RESIGN loud and clearly. But their lips are glued tight because their mouths are full of PITTU.

    • 0
      0

The moment RK decided to tell the commission ” I don’t know
anything about the property,” was the moment he told the
      world that:
1.He is not suitable to talk with foreign dignitaries for Srilanka
because a man who doesn’t know his home knows not his
      country.
2.RK should have resigned before going to the commission if
that was the answer he was going to give the commission.
      3. Rk’s that simple answer put the president , PM, his cabinet
of ministers , his party MPs and the party, all in an awkward
      situation.
      4. Resignation or fight back , none will work for YAHAPALANAYA .

There’s now only one option left ! The same way that Nevil
Fernando Teaching Hospital was made a general hospital ,
My3 and Ranil have to declare the parliament complex at

My 3 and Ranil will never tell you to resign since they are more corrupt than you. Both of them knew this scam from day one specially Ranil and he tried his best to cover up the whole robbery ignoring public outcry. Finally the people media political parties and those who love the country rose up. Finally robber Ranil had no choice and agreed for the commission. That is the real truth.

I agree with Champa that Ranil Wickramasingha the Prime Minister should
resign. He has so far NOT issued one single statement on the matter to
explain his party’s position. He is only marking his 40th year in politics
with fanfare with funds that came from where? The cat will be out of the
    bag soon.

When the bond scam first came to light, RW appointed his own official
committee. They gave him a report he wanted. When the DEW Gunasekera
COPE was ready with their report, Sirisena dissolved Parliament. When the
second COPE came, Malik Samarawickrema worked out a secret marriage
with Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the JVP leader. For a fat santhosam, he
succeeded in preventing any reference to RW. The monthly santhosam
is still being paid to him by Malik. AKD will never utter a word against Malik
    in or outside Parliament.

When the new COPE report came out, RW sent it to the AG. It was not his job.
The Speaker had to do it. But he took it upon himself. That way he tried to
stall it. When Sirisena wanted to remove Arjuna Mahendran, RW pleaded with
him to allow him more time as Governor of the Central Bank. He wanted Arjuna
to destroy all evidence of the bond scame.

RW threatened all media. He saw to it that the money robbed from bond scam
was used to launch a newspaper to make him President and Ravi Karunanayake
Prime Minister. Now, PM looks like his is hit by lightning.

This is how Mr Clean became a dirty old crook. The nation gets such devious people,
the political manipulators to be their leaders. This is why the UNP went slow on
all corruption cases. RW put Sagala Ratnayake, his sucker, to cover them up and
    help the Rajapaksas.

Vasantha cooray@AG is the one to take action against and culprit or not ?

What have you bubbling man ?

We see as masses in this country yo uavhe been blind folded by all the blatant lies fertilized by Rajapakse goons.

This is the very first time COPE has moved thisfar. Cope has been able to be a body with teeth.
Gone were the days that penisless man Dew Gunasekara even if he boasts, but his statemetns made by a set of reports were just ignored as the statments made by Prelates against holding nigh car races in Dalada ;Malligawa premises.

You guys have been very biased, we are no Pro UNP no SLFP, we respect the force came up by late REV Sir Sobitha Thero.

Latter beloved leader stood against higher corruption not being able to see it further.
But ballige putha Rajapakshe did not respect anything.
Today like an incurable cancer patient has reached his end, things have moved that far.
      God save srilanka. !
