Minister of Foreign Affairs and Lotteries Ravi Karunanayake has refuted all newspapers which carried headline stories today claiming that President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had asked him to resign from his ministerial post.
Updating his Facebook status a short while ago he posted a comment which reads “There has been recent media articles stating that the Hon. President and Hon. Prime minister has asked for my resignation. I would like to clarify that there has been no such discussion – Ravi”
Earlier today daily newspapers such as Daily Mirror, Lankadeepa and Lakbima carried headline stories claiming that President Sirisena and Prime Minister Wickremesinghe had asked Minister Karunanayake to resign.

He some how wants to hang on to it. There are so many just like him in that parliament. Ranil is definitely another one. He just hangs their by force.

Man, your reputation is mud.
How can you function as a minister? How can you not expect your underlings not to rob, when you have set such an example?
I know a gent, who was a head of a government institution some time back, for over 25 years. He never came home in his official vehicle; always left it at the place and drove his own car home. He didn’t want to misuse public property and wanted it to be seen by his underlings so they can’t play any hanky-panky. Those were the days ……………

If someone should resign for the CB Bond fraud, it should be the Prime Minister.
In all fairness and justice to the citizenry, President should ask the PM to resign.
As the PM, as the Leader/UNP and as the man who orchestrated CB Bond scam by appointing a non-Sri Lankan close friend as the Governor and covering CB fraud using his high office, Ranil should take the full responsibility of all actions by his Ministers who are involved in the scam one way or the other.
JO, on the other hand are only court jesters who never had the backbone to stand against any of Ranil’s wrongdoings. They never had the backbone to raise their voices in the Parliament the same way they do outside. If they were ever loud in the Parliament, it was to bring disgrace to the House and shame to their voters.
Knowing fully well that it will be defeated, what is the point of bringing a No Confidence Motion in a highly controversial issue like this, against only one Minister? If JO had the backbone they should have brought a NCM against PM and his government to show that at least 1/4 in the Parliament are against the government.
The problem with JO ducks is they are unable to quack as they have sold their bills to the hunter!
For the politicians of all time, crimes are what others commit.
We are on the cusp of a complete reversal where people are shocked by the honesty of politicians and less surprised by their deceit. The world sees the Sri Lankan Parliament as crooks’ den. There is no point of wasting time to turn ducks into eagles. We must elect new set of honest people who are motivated to serve the country, not themselves.

Champa we are clear that you would always bring the kind of stupid thoughts.
Where on the earth, PMs have resigned just because ministers have made mistakes ?
Besides, in lanken Constitution, Prez appoints PM and his cabinet ministers.
And the fact that PM only focused on the profiles of former CBG intending to achieve lot more for the sake of country – he must not be the scape goat for everyone s every mistake.
There is a grudge in lanken society, this PM is to be blamed for everything.
I think PM is the only person to have managed it properly.
His patience is being painted as naivty or lack of information.
But unlike the idiots in the former govt, this PM allowed all the freedom of media in this govt.
That means not that former men did not do that harm.
To that time, they even killed people that did ont come to surface since media was fully controlled.
These media men should reveal that to the nation than anything else.
Media should finalyl want to make it clear that THE SOCIETY ought to change.
Then only this country can see it further.

To moda Sinhalaya!
It is not Ranil who gave media freedom to the country man.
It was an undeniable right won by the people who made Ranil to extricate from his eternal leader of the opposition position. He was voted to do it.
There was nothing he did.
Don’t attribute nativity to voters in this country?
/
Desperate Sinhalaya / August 7, 2017
You should be a born fool not to get it.
If they could they would have done it long ago. Ranil could do it, but he never did it like Madamulana musalaya did it.
Those media prostitutes and GMOA are together today to fulfil it the agenda pro-MR.
Then only thugs could do anything and everything in this country.
There is a man called Wijedassa Rajapakshe, he should be removed for ever out of lanken politics, This man is the main headache in Yahapalanaya outfilt.
He does not allow REFORMS to be made to the prevailing system.
In underground, the bugger works with Gotabaya the Mafia man. PM and Prez are both doing well, but they have been caught by CATCH 22 SITUATION.
THat is the ground reality. Else who would let idiots to attack them easily.
Like it is the case in UK or Germany, they can also bring even rigorous regulations against MEDIA men.
They can then even bann Daily Mirror, BOTH hiru and Derana nalika for sure.
Some countries have gone that far but they still call they are pro to media freedom.
Media freedom is not that let any thugs to sow their germs and destroy the entire society.

There are children of those former public thieves waiting for their term. Some of them from time to time show their colors. but, the two leaders pretend they don’t hear anything. Simply disgusting. Sri-Krish / August 5, 2017
Resignation is a personal decision.
Ravi K could decide to resign or not resign.
There are several questions involved- judicial, political and moral.
The presidential commission was appointed by the President and is bound by the Terms of Reference.
The Presidential Commission has not yet made a report and they are still in the process of hearing.
. Once the commission submit their reports, the issues may have to go before courts.
The moral dimension is for the person concerned and moral is really a relative term.
Let the legal process take their own course. What we are interested is the political option.
The ministers are appointed by the president.
Like appointment, removal also is at the discretion of the President -for a reason or even for no reason.
The appointment is at the pleasure of the President. with or without the recommendation of the[prime Minister.
It is a political decision.
Let us request the president to remove him without waiting for his resignation

It is another funny type of situation of ending ones job in office by his
employer and in this case one’s leader or leaders . In three ways you
end your job .
1. Retirement
2.Termmination
3.Resigion.
No need to waste time on retirement as everyone is quite familiar with it.
But there’s a huge difference between a termination and resignation .
Now the trend on face saving of the subject who loses the job by any of
these two avenues is , MAKING A DEMAND TO SUBMIT RESIGNATION .
Why ? If you do not want his service , why do you not use your authority
to terminate his service ? And especially after a scandal of this nature ,
RESIGN IMMEDIATELY or get TERMINATED BY the TOUGH LEADERS
LIKE RANILMY3 ! Please do not laugh except from your big mouth !

I agree with Champa that Ranil Wickramasingha the Prime Minister should
resign. He has so far NOT issued one single statement on the matter to
explain his party’s position. He is only marking his 40th year in politics
with fanfare with funds that came from where? The cat will be out of the
bag soon.
When the bond scam first came to light, RW appointed his own official
committee. They gave him a report he wanted. When the DEW Gunasekera
COPE was ready with their report, Sirisena dissolved Parliament. When the
second COPE came, Malik Samarawickrema worked out a secret marriage
with Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the JVP leader. For a fat santhosam, he
succeeded in preventing any reference to RW. The monthly santhosam
is still being paid to him by Malik. AKD will never utter a word against Malik
in or outside Parliament.
When the new COPE report came out, RW sent it to the AG. It was not his job.
The Speaker had to do it. But he took it upon himself. That way he tried to
stall it. When Sirisena wanted to remove Arjuna Mahendran, RW pleaded with
him to allow him more time as Governor of the Central Bank. He wanted Arjuna
to destroy all evidence of the bond scame.
RW threatened all media. He saw to it that the money robbed from bond scam
was used to launch a newspaper to make him President and Ravi Karunanayake
Prime Minister. Now, PM looks like his is hit by lightning.
This is how Mr Clean became a dirty old crook. The nation gets such devious people,
the political manipulators to be their leaders. This is why the UNP went slow on
all corruption cases. RW put Sagala Ratnayake, his sucker, to cover them up and
help the Rajapaksas.
